CID Sitting On Vital CCTV Footage Of Thajudeen Killing

Questions are being asked as to why the CID has still not sent the vital CCTV footage to a foreign forensic laboratory seeking expert opinion which showed the vehicle in which popular ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen was travelling, despite an order given by Colombo Additional Magistrate over a month back who directed the CID to dispatch the CCTV footage overseas as local experts did not have the necessary expertise to determine the cause behind the blast.

Local experts were unable to determine the cause behind Thajudeen’s car blast which resulted in his death, even though it was captured by the CCTV footage. However, due to poor quality of the image as it had happened during night time local experts said they couldn’t come to a conclusion, and had adviced that Sri Lanka seeks assistance from a forensic laboratory overseas which had the equipment to verify such unclear visuals.

Subsequent to this observation, on January 7, Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris had given the green light for the CID to seek assistance from foreign experts which may help determine the cause behind Thajudeen’s death, in which former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s sons are allegedly involved, however it is learnt that even though it its almost 5 weeks since the order had been given, the CID is yet to dispatch the footage overseas.

Procrastination consequent to green light from the court or a court order should invite action for contempt.

CHANAKYAN I totally agree with you.

Why don’t the Police get a move on?

    Justice delayed justice denied….

I am really surprised this delay for the closure of this case. There is NO doubt that this was a suspicious death. First of all, the previous regime had covered a lot of things up. If it is a simple accident, this much of cook up was not required. Bring the police officers and medical officers who contributed to this cover up.

Hope, the footage doesn’t disappear in the office or on the way to overseas. If I were to do it, I would invite the experts to come to Sri Lanka to look at the footage.

      Rohan,

This is not a case of justice delayed, in fact it is justice buried.

This situation was a forgone conclusion when the court ordered the footage be reviewed by foreign experts.

That shameless, thuggish and brutish murderous family (MARA) would have fallen on the feet of Ranil/MY3 to save their murderous sons from the rule of law.

There are enough evidence and proofs to send these two murderers Yoshitha/Namal for giving the orders to kill and their God Father Gota for executing the plan through Tissa.

If Ranil or MY3 be the father of Thajudeen then things would have been different. This is a luxury they are offering the murderous MARA family for reasons better known to them.

    Miracle of Asia? Bambuwa!

ARE these the same guys who had the expertise to dismiss the Channel 4 tapes and photographs BUT now cannot verify and authenticate the Thajudeen tape.

Imagine what this will do for our technology credentials.

No wonder we need foreign ‘expertise’ to clear up our pile of shit.

      Yes.
I think of Wasim’s mother- her terrible grief and trauma.
Feel very much for her and the family.

Maybe they are waiting for the dentist Dr. Rajitha to look at it again??? I do remember him saying the visuals were very clear to identify the killers and that it was a few days before the VVIP would be apprehended?? Or maybe.. there isn’t even a video to send.. oh well.. lets just shelve this for now, and exhume the body and flood the media with gory titbits close to the next election when pacha-palanaya feels threatened!!

At least we must thank the media for exposing this shortcoming, since otherwise no one will ever know what is truly going on, and who exactly is to be blamed for this injustice to Wasim’s memory. We were fed with different stories from time to time, like exhumed body parts went missing from cold storage, dispute on the evidences provided by the former and current JMO’s who conducted the post Morten autopsies, one to cover his ass for the cover-up to protect a political stooge, whilst the other to condemn what was done previously and expose the truth. It seems to taking strange twists and turns, and now we hear about the CID dragging its feet to get to the nitty gritty with the CCTV footage, to extract the forensic evidence to identify those who in the scene of the murder, who could very well turn out to be the real culprits behind the murder. I wonder what more misleading information the public will be fed with, before the truth ever comes out, and if it ever will, going by how our politicians behave on both sides of the divide. Okay I hear you, the judiciary is now independent of political interference, but remember we are still operating in ‘deep state’ mode and anything is possible.

Has the CCTV footage ever been made public, or has it had a public viewing for purpose of identifying those around the scene of the incident? I wonder how grainy is it that it warrants a forensic analysis to positively identify the would be assassins? Probably me think BBS, RB, SR and the wild boys of the saffron brigade will once again be primed to create mayhem and commotion but probably this time around, the tension will most likely be along communal lines with a view to bury the whole case itself, just like the victim’s remains. This specially could happen when few members (probably 2 or 3) of the Forces including a VVIP brat having uncle’s influence, gets identified and implicated in carrying out this horrendous crime. This could have been executed over performance jealousy in the rugger scene and girlfriend jealousy in the romance scene. Who knows, what else there was to exterminate Wasim?

What has happened to our resplendent isle? What have these political animals done to the psyche of our country? These acts were done by those who have no heart nor a streak of human kindness, that they could snuff out a beautiful life at its prime, and then simply identify with the victim as a known associate of not much significance, in some stray and casual interview ?

Where is that Bugger Anura Senanayake? Take him to the 4th floor and show him the ground if he does not respond. Let him spill the beans. Failing which, do a Embilipitiya.

CID has commenced their investigations from 88/89 Batalanda era, so it will take long time to come to Thajudeen, they have to to do interrogations from Batalanda hero Ranil Wickramasinghe, all they others who did murderous acts now in the hell. So you all guys have to wait some time to see the justice for Thajudeen.

Skin the Parapaksa family now and hang them immediately for all these atrocities. What happened to Musolini should be done to his entire family.

it is sad to see how long the government is taking to bring the culprits to book. The Government should not have any hand in putting this matter under the carpet. They will not get the MUSLIM VOTES for sure at any elections in the future. For small crimes people are taken in to custody and remanded b y the police, why not for this????. I think this government is also playing games with the masses. Hey Mr. MS and RW you cannot FOOL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME. SAD, SAD, SAD.
