I have been exploring for a little bit for any high quality articles or weblog posts in this sort of area . Exploring in Yahoo I eventually stumbled upon this site. Reading this info So i’m happy to express that I’ve an incredibly just right uncanny feeling I came upon exactly what I needed. I most for sure will make sure to do not disregard this site and provides it a glance regularly.

I really appreciate the professional manner in which you run your web site. It is unfortunate that such professional journalism can be practiced only by those who can afford to live outside Sri Lanka. Imagine the plight of journalists and editors those who are forced to self-sensor the reports due to the prevailing political culture in Sri Lanka. You would do an invaluable service if you can launch a Sinhala version of this website.

This is one of the few web sites available to free media personnel to express and exchange their views. There are no suppression or bribery involved to publish reports and exchange views. How come media minister Keheliya (kehel-mal) Rambukwella along with other Govt. ministers, JUST HOURS before the CJ impeachment motion brought before parliament vehemently denied in public that there is no such motion and the public is misled by false propaganda. Also many other ministers claim that they signed on BLANK PAPERS in President’s house. Many other admit that this impeachment is a revenge on CJ for blocking Divi Neguma bill. Let the truth come out from this case and the culprits are punished before public. Keep up and thank you for your good work CT.

Dear Rubert
Journalism is not about being pro or anti-LTTE. It is about informing us the verified the facts as well as credible opinions. Fostering and protecting those who practice professional journalism under difficult conditions is essentially a part of our democratic obligations.

So you kinda hold back?
Everyone says, Congratulations, you must be so happy.

Attention The Editor.
Thankfully, CT is the only source of fair journalism amongst the citizens of Sri Lanka.
It is sad that criticism against the GOSL and its henchmen are not being accepted in Sri Lankan English newspapers anymore. After the demise of the Sunday Leader, ethical standards of the “Daily Mirror” and “Sunday Times” have shamelessly dropped drastically. Anti MR and Clan comments, even in Forums, are not encouraged. Of late, they are highlighting comments made by Notorious elements like Mervyn Silva, an indication of ‘duress and undue influence’, for their survival.
Thankfully due to Internet facilities, I can, for the moment, depend only on the CT for objective reading and constructive criticism.
Thank you and I wish you the best.

The news that appear here are swift and all round and not confined to a particular group either religious, political or ethnic. Colombo Telegraph serves those outside the ruling circle better than within as those within have state run media at the public expense. Well done.

Congratulations and wish you all the best.

Congratulations CT your site is well deserved of the recognition. You give common man who doesn’t hold a Ph.D. a voice through these message boards and that alone should be deserving of special recognition. Hope this site continue to be a regular watering hole for intelligent discourse devoid of intellectual chest-beatings.
And I know for sure that sites that don’t allow people to air their views, because they are too scared of hurting the feelings of their political masters, will wither away.

Congratulations CT Team,Keep it up.It would be much better If you start similar initiatives in local languages as well(Especially Sinhala). At the end of the day unless these things reach the ordinary person there wont be any result.
But on the same time ,you have to be mindful of the associated risk of loosing the focus when you go on such initiatives

Other media in Sri Lanka would probably learn a good lesson from the ‘Colombo Telegraph’ as to how to play the role of the 4th pillar of the people, at a time when their inalienable sovereign rights are threatened by any organ of the government. And as to how steadfastly media should commit itself to protect the fundamental rights and freedom of the people without being aligned to serve the political interest of any party or individual. When the media failed this fundamental duty only people would suffer and it is very unfortunate that only Colombo Telegraph had insight to understand this simple truth.

Congratulations.. A ray of light shining in the field of unbiased journalism on the web.You have shown the way for other media sites to follow in your footsteps. A free press is essential in these times when the country is facing lawlessness, and a Potential dictatorship.

Looking down in a pix will not be that effective for your security. The CT should be as much broad-based as possible to strengthen your safety and security. Probably all those who have said that they liked the CT URL should be tapped into and continue to build fighting or campaign fund like the Sri Lanka campaign folk and you connected to them in this struggle to be more effective without merely pouring out words, words and more words. It was more of the actions that ongoing by the 20 or 30 odd countries that helped MARA defeat the LTTE.

The CT website in Colombo I am told is accessible only intermitently. Are we all a part of a farce for some people gain some vicarious pleasure??
/
m c spencer / January 28, 2013
The CT search engine requires being better with some enhancements and improvements for reader- responses as well to keep track and respond to their postings should there have been any responses requiring it. I am aware that the more you enter in the search engine query the better the chances of following finding what one looks for as well as follow the thread and keep track. Still is it possible to enhance it with the name of a comment whether real, fictitious or false and keep track of all comments under a particular name such that it will also indirectly help better understand and keep track of the participants’ inconsistencies and any deceits as well? I am willing to make a donation towards the cost of this enhancement.

Quality, independence and fairness are the watchwords of this website, happy to be associated with it with a few contributory writeups. It is the need of the hour for Sri Lankans where the press is stiffled. Carry on your bravado!
