Daham Affirms ‘Pavulvādaya,’ Enters Politics

Daham Sirisena, son of President Maithripala Sirisena, participated in a programme organized by the Youth Front of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) held at the party’s headquarters yesterday (December 18).

The younger Sirisena, who has shown a fascination for the limelight that has led to his presidential father being accused of nepotism and promoting ‘family politics,’ has posted photographs on FB of himself on the stage at the above event.

The Facebook post mentions that the event was held to ‘create awareness about the local government elections.’

Daham Sirisena does not hold any position in the party or in it’s youth wing. However, as an adult, he had every right to join or support any party of his choice and to engage in politics. However, the matter of close relatives of politicians taking up politics was the subject of sharp criticism by the Sirisena camp during the run up to the January 2015 Presidential Election.

It is not clear what Daham Sirisena’s credentials are.

This should not be valid only to Daham.

So long he is a srilanken citizen, he should have rights within the context choosing future carrier, whether or not to become a politcian.

But this shoudl not focus only on Mr Sirisenas family.

Former thugs, wihtout any background let their sons to even rape the young ones in public having built up those nilbala kaaya.
Media inlcuding CT is biased on this issue why ?

That issue 47 million listill debted to lanken state, is NOW not seen in CT why ?

When did you start to read CT? Read CT under Rajapaksas. Search Nepotism, Family rule, Family bandism etc in CT. You will find the answer to your question.

How about Sajith baby, and the Kumaranathunga baby that mother wants to introduce. As s soon as she becomes a MP she wants to sit on a wheel chair and hand over the position to her son.

One of the few good persons in politics now appears to Maithripala Sirisena.

Some members of the family have proved a an embarrassment.- his brothers for instance.

    *

Daham probably has some problems that need psychiatric treatment. But why must Colombo Telegraph highlight every one of these peccadilloes?

    *

Please don’t publish these frivolous stories. This is sillier than other stories.

I’d have to be an idiot to go in search of silly stories.

        *

What I meant is that Daham Sirisena (and even Chathurika) have had stories written about them. Many of them silly.

        *

This story is one of the silliest in that series.

            Percy the dated pathetic

“Write made up stories of the Rajapakses family and that won’t be silly, would it .”

Wouldn’t it be a nasty, horrible, murderous story?
Are you implying that since Sirisena’s brat is doing it whatever Dr Mahinda’s (LLD) children did was justifiable, including murders?

            • 1
              4

Exactly what I mean. The stories about the junior Rajapakses are fiction produced by gandha gahana demala people. As for the Sirisena brat all his doings like the rape of a woman in Amparai, his dazed fish out of water look at the UN representing SL mind you, and his crashing the
VIP podium at the Royal Thomian are just 3 examples. Sirisena Jnr has been involved in a number of other cases hushed up by the police and the media.

” Daham probably need Psychiatric treatment.” So he now is highly qualified to be a Sri Lankan politico.
Are you confirming is this why that he acts like a hooligan not hereditary condition they are only peccadilloes?

The Rajapaksa siblings and Wasim Thjudeen all studied together in my old school. Yoshitha R. is supposed to have got Thajudeen murdered because he had revealed that Gamini Fonseka’s grand-daughter had a birthmark close to her pudenda. That knowledge suggested many things to Yoshitha.

        *

I’ve been told that Nishantha Wickremasinghe was a class-mate of mine. I can’t remember the guy. I’m glad about that. What horrible people!

        *

Yes, compared to what those guys did, whatever Daham has done are peccadilloes. It is one of the tenets of Natural Justice that you don’t punish a guy just because it is proved that the guy has a proclivity to do wrong. He has actually to commit a crime.

        *

The Rajapaksa siblings were shielded from justice by the parents, and not even admonished is what seems to be the case. Maithri may have shielded Daham from punishment by the State, but at home he wouldn’t have condoned his actions.

        *

Being a slightly old fashioned father he may even have used that sting ray tail. I hope not.

        *

Why can’t we stop bothering with these things that are best settled at family level? Does the appearance of that photograph in FaceBook amount to “Enters Politics”?

There were Needle threading and butterflies killing accused on Old Thaathi- but not known of that on Old Putthas before coming to power. What you are comparing with is the whatever happened after fully trained. But Duham has open accusation of higher eligibility certificate

Sinhala Man,honestly you never saw the movie in CT “Brawl In Clique” acted by the Royal Family Princes? That is not crime? If so read your comments here. https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/sirisena-brat-led-mob-smashes-night-club-and-assaults-staff/comment-page-1/#comments. Jeyam said nobody can shake his position because Thaathi is obliged to him for saving the Prince on that case. ( Is that in some kids plays Jeyam had to be in to save?) Thaathi only ran out of SLFP, stood in life threatening election, by this brat, who a lock him up in Old Royal’s dungeon by the fight with the DIG’s son. You may know the petties Old Putthas as you were around there. This rowdy has long list of crimes, you prefer to ignore.

As per Sinhala Man, The Prince is only paying, nothing of any crime. But the Citizens are losing life. “Poonaikkuddikku Vizhaiyadu, Sundelikku seevan Pookuthu”. (Kitten playing, but mouse is dying). “Long live the admirer of the Sinhala Hegemony Royalty, Sinhala Man”.

Sinhala Man was born as a normal Human being. But, eventually grow up as “Sinhala Man” while being fed on by Gamini in CT. Now has become UNP racist Gemini’s twin brother. You can become a Duham too, keep learning!

“One of the good persons in politics now appears to Maithripala Sirisena”.

        Dear SJ,

I had noticed the missing “be”; merely a typo.

There have been many silly stories about the Sirisena progeny, but I’m keeping an open mind about two things relating to Chathuri:

        1. Her benefitting from the father’s influence in founding an advertising firm.

        2. The Warship ordered for the Navy which Travis Sinniah had objected to.

My own feeling is that Maithri is NOT guilty on either score, but I’ll be quite willing to read more about both these stories if what is said is substantiated.

Other silly stories? There are quite a few articles that I don’t bother to read at all. I just can’t make reference to what I don’t know.

After your recent failure to express regret for your unfounded allegations about me in another context, even after it was pointed out by one Kumar and by me, I think that I should best ignore you as I do some others.
Thus, if you do really not know what the silly stories that I referred to are, I think that I should not elaborate.

Sinhala Man, we did not vote for a family. We voted for these men to clean this messy situation. Both of them had failed, failed miserably. This is the fate of Sri Lanka. They are attempting to build their families and friends – the country suffers.

Both of them are, in vernacular “Baila gahanawa”. The asbastos fiasco is a good example.

Daham is the new Anura Bandaranaike, I guess, but with none of Anura’s polish or intellect. Entitlement system continues. How did My3 get money to send his son to England? What are his educational qualifications. Anura B got a degree (proven unlike his sister’s so called degree and PhD attempts only she claims) from the prestigious LSE.

Ratharan putha knows the old adage – which then used to be
“rajakarama beri nang weda kama karapang” Medical practise was the most lucrative and respected then. Now young Doctors earn far less than those in other professions. Neither does the much spoilt Daham possessed of the required IQs for Wedakama. So, for him, it is back to “Weda kama beri nang rajakama karapang” Fortunately for him, these days, one does need to have even the SSC to become an MP – leading to be a Minister and even higher in our honoured Legislature. The tens of thousands of the brain damaged yokels in the Polonnaruwa hinterland will surely vote and work for him.

Daham S was living in England in a rented apartment for some and tried to study Law. After few months he just dropped off back to Sri Lanka even without closing up the responsibilities with the apartment. In the end, when a lawsuit against Daham was on the way, his father got the London high commission to settle the rent which was due more than 12 months and closed “Daham’s British education chapter”. But in years to come, if he steps in to Sri Lankan politics, we may witness him saying that he was educated at Oxford just like Sajith P or CBK in Sorbonne.

      • 6
        6

This is a defarmation to CBK, but I dont know about others.

We as ones got our education in Germany and England are well aware of the fact that CBK had been studying in Sorbonne. That was not wrong information. But Sajith as you said had few terms at an Uni in UK. We also know some african college mates of CBK at Sorbonne.

Please get your facts right before attacking former Prez CBK.

        • 3
          1

No question that CBK was at Sorbonne but the question is whether she received any academic certificate from Sorbonne. I heard this nice story from a friend of mine. Someone had asked Mrs. B what academic certificates Chandrika has. Mrs. B had told the only certificate she has is Birth Crtificate!!!

Looks like you don’t know anything about Anura. he failed his std 5 at Royal.
LSE is not that prestigious as you make out when applied to foreign royalties and rich people. You ask how My3 got money to send his son to England, is it a big deal nowadays to send someone to England every Tom Dick and Harry find their way to England. Can you say how Bandaranayakeas got money, at that time, to send Anura to England and pay LSE’s huge fees?

      3

What is there to suggest that Maithri thinks that Daham is going to be an M.P. ?

Let me complete that quotation from Shakespeare’s Othello: the words are Iago’s:

“Beware of jealousy, it is the green-eyed monster, that mocks the meat it feeds on.” I cannot guarantee absolute accuracy in that quote. I’ve got better things to do than check the words (can’t even copy/ paste on to CT).

      *

Or search Julius Caesar for the words with which old Julius describes Cassius: “such men be never at heart’s ease, whilest they behold a greater than themselves.”

All types of Babies (Namal Baba, Daham Baba, now, in the 70’s Anura Baba) first make their presence with a stunt. Then Sri Lankan voters vote for them. So is it all right to be a baby? All because their powerful fathers (even mothers), who come to office through our votes, permit this. Now look at the glaring example. A Doctor chap is an MP. When his late father, again a Doctor, was a Minister, he got himself into a scrape. Convicted in the Magistrates Courts but somehow won the appeal in the High Courts, they say thanks to Jarapassa. We condemn the conduct of the Baby but later on we vote for the guy. Who is practicing duplicity, isn’t it the voter himself? Then why blame the politicians and the setup?

I have no confidence that the gullible will reject this unqualified pup, and tell him to take a hike to Pidurutalagala. Just because he is the son of the President, does not give him the qualifications to be any kind of leader in the political arena. There is a vast number of voters who are unable to learn lessons from the past.

Let us not forget that he is a thug, and breaking property because your goons were not allowed to enter a nightclub, does not make you a great candidate for office. We already have the reputation of having thugs in government. Let us not add another.

Politicians should understand that people are so fed up with nepotism for the simple reason that their families abuse the power to the extent that the unparalleled leadership given by their fathers/siblings sliding into obscurity.
    .
What happened to former President is the best example. The legendary warrior leader who shook the world with his unprecedented bravery between 2005&2009 fell into the sheugh in his second term purely for the actions of his two siblings Gotabhaya-Basil and his immature sons who ruled the country between 2010&2015 according to their whims and fancies. The former President’s limelight was stolen by his siblings. Why did he let that happen I don’t know. In simple words, all bad things in every field; governmental, political, social, legal, economic, went to former President’s account while all good things went to his siblings’ accounts. Shirani Bandaranaike’s case which was entirely Basil’s work, reflected very badly on former President, costing him his good name. Same thing is happening today. If SLPP wins, the fame will go to Basil not to MR, although Basil didn’t add a single vote other than shuffling and reshuffling the same people who were rallied by Wimal under one flag on February 18, 2015, something even MR wouldn’t have been able to do under the circumstances. If SLPP loses, it will defame MR not Basil and if they win, again it will be a story of stolen limelight. Basil says MR is going to form a government in 2020. It will never happen the way he wants.
    .
Same thing is applied to President Sirisena. He follows quiet diplomacy “in its strongest form”, a different type of leadership, something Thamo Mbeki, former SA President was famous for. If President’s family involved in politics, he will also fall into sleugh.
