Husband and wife duo, Daya and Anoma Gamage received a boost within the United National Party, with the party’s central committee appointing Minister of Primary Industries Daya Gamage, as the Deputy Chairman, while his wife, Anoma, a deputy minister was appointed as Chairperson of the Eksath Lak Vanitha Peramuna.

Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam was appointed chairman of the UNP trade union, Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya, while Harin Fernando was appointed to lead the Jathika Estate Workers Union.
