In order to hurt the Muslims in Kandy, filthy English wording has been written on the iron doors of a closed shop.
So far no action has been taken whatsoever against the hardline Buddists for these kinds of racism or activities carried out against Muslims or Islam, Jaffnamuslim.com reports.
Issuing a report the Centre for Policy Alternatives last week said 65 cases of attacks on religious places of worship between May 2009 and January 2013. Direct attacks have been reported from all provinces of Sri Lanka, making clear that the threat is not restricted to particular areas. Most of the reported incidents were from the Western province (16), followed by the Eastern province (12), the Southern province (11) and the North-Western province (9).

On a Sunday when it was raining hard, he met Sir James Jeans, the famous astronomer of the Cambridge University, going to a church with a Bible clutched under his arm. Sir James Jeans asked Mr. Inayatullah Khan to come to his house and have tea with him in the evening. Accordingly, Mr. Inayatullah Khan went to his house in the evening. Sir James Jeans was lost in his thoughts, he asked What your question was? But without waiting for an answer, he gave an inspiring description of the creation of the celestial bodies, their motions and the astonishing order to which they adhere. His voice and his movements clearly showed that he was deeply impressed by the Power and Majesty of God. He said You know Inayatullah Khan when I behold God’s marvelous feats of creation, my whole being trembles in awe at His majesty. When I go to church I bow my head and say, ‘Lord, how great you are’ and not only my lips, but every particle of my body joins in uttering these words. I obtain incredible peace and joy from my prayer. Compared to others, I receive a thousand times more fulfillment from my prayers. So tell me, Inayatullah Khan, now do you understand why I go to Church?
Hearing this Mr. Inayatullah Khan told Sir James Jeans that his words reminded him of a verse of the Holy Qura’n which he would like to quote if permitted. Sir James Jeans replied: Of course. Mr. Inayatullah Khan then quoted the following verse:
” And among the mountains are streaks, white and red, of diverse hues and others raven black; And in like manner, there are men and beasts and cattle, of various colours. Only those of His servants who possess knowledge fear Allah.”(35:27,28)
Sir James Jeans was deeply impressed by these words of the Holy Qura’n he exclaimed:

3- Ban on women dealing with male shopkeepers.
4- Ban on women being treated by male doctors.
5- Ban on women studying at schools, universities or any other educational institution. (Taliban have converted girls’ schools into religious seminaries.)
6- Requirement that women wear a long veil (Burqa), which covers them from head to toe.
7- Whipping, beating and verbal abuse of women not clothed in accordance with Taliban rules, or of women unaccompanied by a mahram.
8- Whipping of women in public for having non-covered ankles.

I see there’s only two ways available to find a solution for this under nourished, poor, unhealthy life styles among poor… and to solve to produce quality thyan quantity house hold children.

This is very harmful to our society, where even Govt.regular alcohol smell and taste like audi-toilette.
Also our food preparations are not balanced, healthy and nutritious….and schools should taught how to have a balanced diet with Breakfast, lunch and dinner….with proper protein,carbs, fiber,minarals and vitamins and proper calorie intakes at various ages etc. Our type of over cooking really kills all the nutrients and proper cooking should be taught in school.
When it comes to relationships,love making, family life and child bearing, it’s a matter of “Enna Penna” type Quantity without any quality, and should be taught in schools.Also natural and artifical contraceptive methods and prevention of diseases.
Therefore our whole social, youth and family life structure, laws, duties and responsibilities have to be taught and re-vamped.
Also there should be more books written in Social and Family lives and should be taught in schools.

I have moved with a couple of Jews in a Western country and was also moved with some Arabs in a Middle Eastern country.
Only thing with Arabs was that I could not communicate with them due to language problem and only with very few greeting words and gestures and sign language. But I was never invited to their homes…but shared home made food in the office whenever he brings. (We had an in-house caterer)

Please read up on the impact of the “one child policy” on Chinese. There are multifaceted challenges.
First, is the artificial imbalance in population ratios of gender and the age spread. Chinese have a preference for the male child resulting in many females fetuses being aborted. This has created a different social problem; that of young men finding suitable partners.
The other problem is the burden placed on the single child to look after ailing and aged parents, with single child being unable to cope with the pressures of time and money for the care of aging parents.
Economically, the government is saddled with a rapidly aging population, with not enough of Chinese young going into the productive labour category.
So no solution is a final solution. Sri Lanka is facing the same challenges and needs broader informed discussion.
Not virulent bad mouthing, founded on hatred of one group of people can resolve the problem if we have one. Please note I am not commenting on the “Muslim population and birth rate” and the unfounded fears of the BBS/JHU and their ilk.

I agree with Nabil when it comes to Family planning and family life.
The reason is…..we humans live with different emotions, cultures, family back grounds, priorities, needs and aesthetic needs. Even in the same family among siblings, these needs will be different.
Therefore one cannot say to another to follow a set of rules when it comes to family life. One will be happy with a big house, when the other will love to have a third or fourth child. So it’s different.
But my point is that that parents should have a full knowledge of childrens physical,mental,emotional,love needs etc. and proper guidence of upbringing children until they leave home.
Also these should be taught at school as a subject.Right now our lower middle class and the poor are nil on this, like our government.
I think China has relaxed their strict one child policy now. But the second child is not eligible for some free incentives given to one child by Chinese state.

There are never enough resources to distribute to the entire population, so that each and every person is satisfied. It is not reasonable to expect the Government to provide social welfare to each and every person, either, since social welfare is funded by taxes, and taxes have to go to various projects. When it comes to family planning, people must be reasonable and correlate the number of offspring to their income level. Otherwise, it will lead to numerous sociological problems, such as increased poverty and crime. Having dozens of children for the sake of the sky god or moon god does not make economic sense. That is not rational behavior (even though the sky god and moon good might disagree).

Correct. A completely new kind of education is needed for the modern citizen. Awareness of basic economic principles, of the environment, familiarity with 1 or 2 programming languages by the end of secondary school, I would even recommend some instruction in comparative religions, so that children are exposed to other faiths. Now that exercise equipment is so pervasive, it is possible to give children some training in this area also, from an early age, so that they build good habits as they become older. We cannot ignore the question of sexuality either. Given that it’s presence is felt everywhere because of technology (specifically, the internet), the best thing to do is offer some kind of limited education in this regard. Explain the differences in male and human thinking, explain the psychology of deviant behavior, explain what is a normal human relationship, explain how pornography messes up the normal balance in relationships, etc.
Another suggestion that I have is for universities to become involved with lower-level education. Instead of compulsory military training, all students should be compelled to offer tuition (subsidized by the State) for one term during their 4-year career.
Finally, I am of the opinion that everyone should be allowed to attend any class in any university (with the exception of certain areas like medicine), given that there is adequate seating, but not necessarily sit for the exams.

It is sad that such incidents have taken place. Pure and simple this is a provocative act. God is one, but he is called in different names. The manner in which Allah is described in filth is unpardonable. Earlier the idols in the Hindu temples in Kandy were damaged by unruly elements. After the war it is alleged that more than 65 temples and recently some mosques were damaged, all of which send the signal that poor governance is prevailing in the country. When the Hindu temples were demolished or even trespassed inside the Sanctum Sanctorum by the Sri Lanka Armed Forces with their boots on various pretext, the Muslim politicians failed to condemned, but also maintained silence when statutes of Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda were also damaged. However, we Hindus wish to take this opportunity to condemn such remarks on religious Prophets in no uncertain terms. It is a clear infringement of the provisions of the constitution.
I wish remind my Muslim brothers and sisters that there is a close link between Hinduism and Islam. The practice of worshipping pagan Moon was prevalent in Arabia since 2000 BC. In Mecca, there was a God known as Hubal, who was the Lord of the Kabah. It is said that the idol of Moon God was placed upon the roof of the Kabah about 400 years before Muhammad was born. This could have been the symbol of Islam atop of every mosque. Apparently, the Mood God was also referred to as ‘al-ilah’. This is generic reference meaning the God. It so happened that each local pagan Arab tribe would address their own local tribal pagan god as ‘al-ilah’. With the passage of time, the term ‘al-ilah’ shorten itself as Allah, before Muhammad began promoting his new religion in 610 AD. Muhammad retained almost all pagan rituals of the Arabs at the Kaba and redefined them in monotheistic terms. However, it is clear that Islam is derived from paganism that once worshipped a Moon-God.

Moreover, Kaaba in Mecca in Saudi Arabia was a pilgrimage site prior to the existence of Islam. The word ‘Kaaba’ whether it is of Sanskrit or Tamil origin, is of considerable debate. However, the origin of the word ‘Kaaba’ can be traced around 1700 BC. In this context there is a Siva temple in Tamil Nadu, known as Kabaaliswaran temple. Kabaali refers to Lord Shiva. It is said that the Black Stone at Kaaba is held sacred and holy in Islam and is called ‘Hajre Aswad’, a word derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Sanghey Ashweta’ meaning non-white stone. Apparently Shiva Lingam is also known as Sanghey Ashweta. So there is reason to ponder that Kaaba is the same what Hindus worship. Moreover, the pedestal Maqam-E-Ibrahim at the centre of Kaaba is octagonal in shape. Similarly in Hinduism, the pedestal of Brahma is also octagonal in shape. What is amusing is that Muslim pilgrims visiting the Kaaba temple go around it seven times. In no other mosque does the circumambulation prevail. Hindus invariably circumambulate around their deities, which is another proof that the Kaaba shrine is a pre-Islamic. Therefore, the fact that Muslims do not worship stone has become a considerable dispute, given the fact that Muslim pilgrims circumambulate the entire Kaaba building seven times.
It is stunning to observe that Allah was one of the deities in Kabba, prior to the existence of Islam. Allah itself is of Sanskrit origin, because the words Allah, Akka and Amba are synonyms. They signify a Goddess or mother. The term ‘Allah’ forms part of Sanskrit chants invoking Goddess Durga, which also refers to Mahishasurmardini, Chandi and Bhavani. Therefore it appears that the Islamic word for God retention of the ancient Sanskrit appellation and continued thereafter by Islam. Hence Allah means Mother Goddess.
Moreover, if one sees the Sanskrit syllabus AUM in a mirror, the Arabic number 786 which is a sacred number for the Muslims can be seen and are imprinted in the Arabic Quran. What a coincidence of the holiest Vedic symbol of AUM and the Arabic sacred number 786 that signals the unification of both religions. Briefly Muslims go around the Siva Lingam at Kabba seven times like Hindus go around five or seven times.
Similarly Lord Buddha is also considered as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Any mischievous elements engaged in such unwanted activities should not forget the practice of non-violence preached by Lord Buddha. Non-violence has the force of nullifying provocative acts. On the contrary, it has the force of promoting mutual understanding.
Therefore having heard the mischievous remarks, it also hurt our feelings, especially when Buddhist priests are maintaining silence, perhaps through fear of the Armed Security Forces. We may have differences, but this is the hour to raise in one voice to restore our religious freedom without any form of interference. After all, it is common that eventually we have to realize the ultimate truth, i.e. surrender to the Almighty in whatever form the devotees imagines.

Sanskrit is never a spoken language. That’s why it died soon like Apabrahmsa and Prakrit and the modern concocted one Esperanto. Still nobody can write a convincingly rhyming poem using it’s own dictionary, so it’s survival trend in literary works demised.
Sanskrit was assembled by collecting loan words and standardizing them from Maitli, which is still widely spoken among the anothern hemisphere of India.
Although it metamorphic from the same lineage of the above family to the same Pali had a vocabulary to survive with extensive works on religious texts to it’s credit.

Dear Kevetta, today Sanskrit is made an official language in the State of Jakarkhand in India. Furthermore, Kashmir has been the home of Sanskrit learning long before the invasion of Muslims. The great epics Ramayana and Maha Bharath were composed in Sanskrit. During the period of the Indus Valley civilization Sanskrit was the Official language.
