President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday accepted her resignation despite mounting criticism against him, and his recent lashing out at the CIABOC, CID and FCID.

During her tenure as Director General of the Commission, Wickramasinghe launched a series of corruption probes against the former first family, including against the once powerful defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, ex-Minister Basil Rajapaksa and the sons of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. She also commenced investigations against Sirisena loyalists including A. H. M. Fowzie and Piyankara Jayaratne. Her most recent investigation was against Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne.

Many civil society representatives have expressed their displeasure over Sirisena’s decision to accept Wickramasinghe’s resignation.

Meanwhile, Sirisena has appointed Sunethra Jayasinghe, the Deputy Director General of the Commission as the acting director general.

Looks like you are confusing the yahapalians with the Mahinda Chintanayas, so looks like you’re the one with dementia!

Having said that, though, it also looks like the yahapalanayas are trying to emulate their predecessors, but they have a long way to go before even coming near their sordid records.

“President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday accepted her resignation despite mounting criticism against him, and his recent lashing out at the CIABOC, CID and FCID.”

      Who is fooling whom?

Who is Siisena, Gon Gamarala, fooling?

Sirisena has formed a TRINITY with Gotabaya Rahapakda, Wijedasa Rajapajksa, the “Justice” Minster to Forgive the Sins od Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Rajapaksa Family.

President promised to Amaraweera he would protect Rajapakse family ! (video)
      – Maithri’s speech draws heavy flak; remove defense secretary and army intelligence chief forthwith – Prof. Wijesuriya

From Bulath vine, Vettila Vine, Grape Vine News:

In a book published by an M.P. of president’s national list it is mentioned that Maithripala Sirisena after becoming the president gave a promise to Mahinda Amaraweera that he would protect the Rajapakse family , and which revelation had still not been contradicted by the president . This was disclosed by professor Sarath Wijesuriya the convener of the Movement for just society when addressing a media briefing with the participation of the Citizen’s Front held today in connection with the recent odious and stupid speech of president Maithripala expressing resentment against Gotabaya Rajapakse being summoned to court . The recent speech of the president drew heavy flak from Prof Wijesuriya .

The professor who gave answers loaded with spice and flavor to the ‘cyanide’ speech of the president , identified the present defense secretary Karunasena Hettiarachi and present army intelligence chief Suresh Salley as the conspirators who provide falsified information to mislead the president . Suresh Salley for 8 long years was an intelligence division henchman of Gotabaya during the Gotabaya era . The professor therefore expressed shock over the appointment of Salley as the chief of the intelligence division under the good governance government , while pointing out , it is Salley who is impeding the enforcement of laws against the criminals , and that Salley himself is an accused being criminally involved.

If the president truly has the desire for good governance , these two officers shall be immediately removed from those posts . Chandrika Bandaranaike played a prime role to steer the good governance government to victory , but Dilan Perera who criticizes her has been appointed as the spokesman for the SLFP , the professor bemoaned. The professor also went on to blame the president for appointing Hemantha Warnakulasuriya as a director of SLT regulatory commission , and found fault with prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for protecting Thiru Nadesan .

Those who want to save data can listen to the audio tape of the speech of Prof. Wijesuriya by clicking here.

      Really???

I thought all reports indicated that it was his fear of Gota and family (not to mention protecting Rajitha et al) that catalyzed his strident outburst.

“If you once forfeit the confidence of your fellow citizens, you can never regain their respect and esteem. It is true that you may fool all of the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all of the time; but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.”

As President Sirisena makes his speeches off the cuff, and without notes or written up, this is NOT good practice, as he tends to tailor his speech to the audience at hand, and therefore what he said resonated with the people he was with at that time, and he did not think any further.

This is typical Grama Sevaka talk, not suited for a President.

The utterances of a President of a Country must be carefully considered. as other people’s lives and his Country’s destiny depend on it.

For President Sirisena to have treated this so lightly but to have caused a huge stir in every corner of the land, is a reflection of his lack of stature, not Presidential Material. He is bound to fall on his own sword and does not need any assistance, as he is not one to seek or heed advice from others either.

I believe our politicians have LOST sight of what is in the Country’s interest and what is in their personal/political interest of survival. Here the President MUST put his personal agenda aside and work for the Country, he is sworn to govern, those with him and those against him. He has NOT matured to that level YET.

6.3Million masses are dissapointed that none of the Big time Murderers and fraudsters are bought to real justice.

The bottom line here is, IS he just another traitor of the Country, like MR?

The last two sentences of Para 3 of the article provides the answer to the question why MS lashed out at Dilrukshi.

  • 1
    2

According to the ‘inside information’ Dilrukshi Wickramasinghe is the first Director General of Bribery of Corruption charged for Corruption whilst occupying the office.

At the Cabinet meeting held, where her issue was discussed, President Sirisena has shown the said complaint and used it to justify her removal from the office, claiming that a person who is charged for corruption cannot be permitted to occupy the office of the Director General of Bribery and Corruption.

Ravindra: Oh really? At this rate if I send a complaint against Maithreepala Sirisena will he resign?

If as portrayed she investigated everybody and is upright par excellence then she should NOT RESIGNED BECAUSE SOMEBODY BARKS AIMING AT THE SKY. Her leaving the position, though many would ascribe motives of all kinds, opens doors for one to look at the issue very objectively. Was her continuing in office be detrimental to her own interests? Answer should be YES and it is only she who knows the real answer to the question WHY?

It does look that the hopes of those who voted for Sirisena, including most Tamils and Muslims, of/for a righteous head of state, have been dashed on the alter of protection of the Rajapakses and others like Fowzy.

Very disappointing for all Sri Lankans.

It seems her removal in whatever form whether she volunteer or otherwise was necessary for those who have taken control of Maithiri and operating him. It appears her investigation was closing in all fronts to the extent as if touches the row nerve of the perpetrators, so it obvious that they would play their drum cards at this desperate time and other means available to them, an example being the recent suicide of the retired army officer. Not to mention how much would have changed hands.

If MS had been taken the pledge and agreed that he would safeguard MR and his loyalists, then time has come and it is the time for him do a SOS for them, probably someone could have explained him they were at imminent danger. Am not sure if good governance and HE’s safeguarding deal would go hand in hand. Does he know who are in the firing line if MR capture the power, I am sure, not Ranil but he will be the first one, and he himself told at meetings a few times that if he had lost the election, he would been six feet under ground. So what is he doing?. Committing suicide for what…?

She will be leapfrogged to the office of the Chief Justice from March 2016. Ranil W has done the ground work for this and Dep will not be appointed CJ after CJ Sripavan retired from office in February.
