Why on earth Admiral Samarasinghe needs to answer anyone when Ausie Gov thought case against him itself not worth the trouble !!!

I’ve lost few civilian relatives by the hands of pussy tiger ltte. As pussy tigers are dead & gone I thought perpetrators of these crimes are non other than DIE-ASS-PORA, who funded ltte (Including this good-for-the-bad-thing Doctor !!!)

Kahapola, I fail to understand your Logic of wanting to know whether I am paid by CT for the posts and if not you feel sorry for my two children. What is the connection between the two? For your information both my children are married and having children themselves who are working. All are doing well with senior executive jobs. So please do not feel sorry. I feel sorry for yourself when you make allegaations that everyone who posts comments are myself. What small thinking? I do not want to be clanish, but you said you are from Mawilmada area. Then I can understand.

Why would anyone affected by the genocide believe the lie of ‘reconciliation’? The word ‘reconciliation’ is being used by a corrupt government as a linguistic sleight of hand, to distract people who want to be deceived, who have something to gain by perpetuating a lie, to empower a guilty conscience. Let’s quickly agree that ‘reconciliation’ fools only people who want to be fooled. In Turkey, it is a punishable crime to speak of the Armenian genocide, which happened nearly a century ago. ‘Reconciliation’ is the same thing as silence. No justice will come from it.

There is a You Tube clip of this lady Sam Pari giving a speech beneath an enormous poster of Prabakaran, in which she makes various outrageous claims:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H08ip17LU8g&feature=channel&list=UL

This supports the allegations that have been made that she has been a key propagandist for the LTTE. I don’t see much reason to take what she says seriously when she continues to turn a blind eye to the well-known atrocities committed by the Tamil Tigers. Any “genocide” or “ethnic cleansing” done in Sri Lanka was perpetrated by the LTTE, rather than by the Sri Lankan Government or armed forces.

I find it sad that so rarely is the official trilingual policy promoted by the current government mentioned by those intent on impeding the progress of reconciliation in Sri Lanka. Also, those who were shouting about “concentration camps” and claiming that the Sri Lankan Government was intent on using such camps to genocide Tamil-speaking people in the same way as the Nazis killed Gypsies and Jews have been rather silent on the fact that this simply did not happen. The facts speak for themselves, but Sam Pari and her supporters seem more interested in fiery rhetoric and propaganda than truth.

It’s refreshing to read a comment that’s intelligent rather than obscene–even if I happen to disagree.

Do you really believe only the Tigers are to blame, that the government is blameless and all the photographic evidence of government-sanctioned torture, rape, kidnapping, and murder can be justified?

I completely understand blaming the Tigers for their brutality; I don’t understand how a moral, intelligent person can fail to blame the government of Sri Lanka for the same brutality perpetrated on a bureaucratic level.

A fair point, Charlotte. No, I don’t excuse the government or its armed forces for any abuses (including possible war crimes) that were committed during the war in Sri Lanka. Nor do I think it reasonable to justify corruption, nepotism or thuggery by government representatives, let alone rape, murder or kidnapping (in Sri Lanka or anywhere else). I was specifically addressing, in the comment above, the issue of genocide, which I do not think the SL government is guilty of, having spent some years researching the eugenics movement and previous genocides perpetrated by the Nazis in Europe during the Second World War and against Indigenous people in Australia, where I have lived for most of my life.

      Dr. Romesh Senewiratne:
As they used to say, “The most effective way to slip in the shiv is to conceal it in a bouquet.” Buried among the inanities in your contribution is the blatant lie that the government is practicing some kind of “tri-lingual policy.” Ask Tamils anywhere in Sri Lanka whether they can so much as have a complaint recorded in their language, particularly at police stations!
This kind of attempted sleight of hand is more disgusting than the usual blatant falsehoods that you spout.
