Duminda Silva’s Sister Follows Hirunika’s Footsteps, Posts Pictures Of Brother’s Head Surgery

Just days since Hirunika Premachandra posted a picture of her father, Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra lying dead with a gunshot injury to his head, Duminda Silva’s sister, Dilini has taken a leaf from Hirunika’s book by posting a series of pictures on her Facebook page which she claimed was the head surgery of her brother carried out at several local and foreign hospitals in 2011 and 2012 since the shootout which left Premachandra dead.

dilini-silvaDilini Silva has posted 17 pictures in total which shows the several stages of the surgeries carried out at the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital as well as at the Mt. Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. She has also posted a copy of the x-ray which shows the bullet entry and exit points on Silva’s skull.

However, Dilini Silva has only shared the pictures of her injured brother, although not explicitly explaining why she has posted these pictures, almost four years since the incident.

On September 11, Hirunika Premachandra, who is a Parliamentarian made a public appeal requesting authorities to investigate Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne, the consultant neurosurgeon who allegedly covered up for Duminda Silva. In a post published on her Facebook page which shows a picture of her father, lying dead on a hospital stretcher which clearly shows the fatal gunshot injury to his head, Hirunika said, “I am posting this picture not for your sympathy, but for you to understand this is how ‘shot in the head’ looks like. It’s impossible to live even a second after a shot like this,” she said.

Therefore, she said an investigation should be launched soon against the doctor who submitted false medical information to the Court. Wijeratne, a very close acquaintance of Access Group Chairman Sumal Perera is alleged to have come to the rescue of Duminda Silva soon after his shootout with Premachandra, by submitting a false report claiming that Silva, had suffered brain injury as a bullet had travelled through his brain during the shooting between Premachandra and Silva and their thugs.

Sumal Perera was a close associate of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Silva, and four others were sentenced to death on September 8 for the killing of Premachandra.

Why these pics kept away SO LONG from the public BUT NOW is the million dollar question ?

May be some injuries were on his head but not to the manner it was described losing his memory – no means acceptable. The very same person to work on the election campaigns for Maharaja et al repeating athigaru janathipathithuma …. 1000000000000 should be one of the wonders in human nature.

I rather believe, that there had been no such fatal injuries, but to cover up the man from the allegations, Rajakashe men immediately acted and sent to Singapore.
The man and his wealthy family seem to have enough money, now the question is who paid the bills to S pore hosptial during that those long 24 months stay keeping there in the hospital or a brothel ? Please interview Maharaja for all the information and be informed the general public accordingly. If the state paid them, they the family have to return those sums so that the poor tax payers use them for their benefits. Basta.

You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not All the People all the time, even in Lanka, populated by the Paras with an average IQ of 79.

Try it on Equatorial Guinea where the average IQ is 59.

        Thanks for the photos.

Could you also please provide US WITH a summary of medical reports on Duminda s surgery ? So that the readers can clarify their thoughts. As comments prove, not many would believe that the surgery should have been that fatal or any serious damages should have been the case even if the patient was kept away from lanka for 2years.

Only provable medical reports can help the clarity of the infomration based on his surgeries – else peoples would remain it as a fiction.

“”Why these pics kept away SO LONG from the public BUT NOW is the million dollar question ?””

medicals are private property not for media scroungers to pass judgement. she should not have exposed it but mentioned it.

The world does not revolve around the legal/medical profession, and entertainers should be able to entertain with whatever cultural materials are available to them without worrying about getting such insider details right. Obviously there are exceptions – perpetuating harmful ethnic stereotypes would be something to be concerned about, etc.
Perhaps more troubling is the utter contempt the surgeons repeatedly expresses for the legal system.
But in many cases, the truth about lawyers is even worse. The public has no idea how ignorant lawyers and judges (including Lankawe) are of science, engineering and math, for example, having almost overwhelmingly received their training in the wishy-washy and touchy-feely subjects of English, History, Political Science, Government and International Affairs.

this is WRONG. Is such cases of the kind, people should be fed with the credible info.

Even if all the data protection laws in terms of the privacy of the person, murder cases are exeptional.
So, in that context, they the professionals stood by DS should reveal but truth in terms of credibility of the reports they set to air.

We must not hear that we are under THAT LOWER IQ bearers, you perfectly know the problem well.

Problem lies on a few that are like Wimal Buruwasne. Rabbel rousers take the ground by sending message viral to gawky, vunlnerable poor folks, like indians film makers live on the blood/intoxications of the poor.
Please check it right – not even 10% of indian population out of 1200 millions live like comparable to the average of EU countries. But the films outreach over 500 millions of that predominantly poor nation ( over 70% are poor).

So the interdependence of poor and rich in the subcontinent is indispensible to continue indian economy. But they would never call the majority folks are fools or lower IQ HOLDERs.

He He He till 10th century there was not even Sinhala alphabet and when this cursed country got independence there were just only 3 copies of Sinhala encyclopedias this is the glory of your religion.

If you check your DNA it will end up with a Dalit family in todays Kerala and then Sera Kingdom where Paththini worship started .

Is’nt it cynical to ask this question,

          1. After the Portugese burned down ‘ Saraswathy Mahal’ the Royal library in Nallur.

          2. The police under the guidance of the likes of Gamini Dissanayake, burned down the Jaffna library.

          3. After the wars destroyed many homes with extensive private libraries and the LTTE plundered the rest like mine (a collection spanning four generations).

Thank you for your photograph of a man under head and brain surgery.

Could you provide us with medical certificates signed by the surgeon who performed this complicated surgery.

I thank Dilini Silva for showing the images. I am not a neurosurgeon or a forensic pathologist, but I can see from the images Duminda may have been shot in the left forehead and the bullet could have traversed the right frontal lobe. I also noticed swelling around the right eye which may or may not be related to injuries to the brain in the right side. Therefore what Dr Gamini Goonetilleke ascribed as injuries may be true.

Damage to the frontal lobes can disturb a person’s ability to formulate plans, read or respond to social cues, and suppress the impulse to do or say things that might be socially inappropriate

      http://phys.org/news/2011-01-bullet-surviving-shot-host.html

Duminda’s injury is less likely to be a simple frontal lobe trauma given the nature of damage caused by gunshot wounds in the head. A detailed description on this can be found on the following link
      http://jadweb.org/pdf/JAD.Vol3.No3.pdf/2.pdf

However, it is reasonable to assume that the Duminda’s injuries did not cause major damage to the deep structures such as amygdala or the hypothalamus. The above mentioned areas are important for the victim’s ability to fully form, retain and retrieve memories that are freighted with emotion. Further more I would have expected a person with similar to the injuries of Duminda would have been conscious after the shooting took place.

Therefore Maheshi’s and Ananda’s argument that Duminda has lost this important memories seems flawed.
I seek the participation of our learned Srilankan doctors on this topic.

Rob your web page says otherwise. wishy washy, plucking peaches on the beaches?

Make no mistake: Bullets usually kill when they enter the brain. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that in 90 percent of brain injuries that stem from firearms, the patient dies. Of the lucky 1 in 10, virtually all are thought to live with persistent disabilities.
In the last 15 years, however, better treatments have greatly improved the odds of survival. “In Iraq, we were fooled many times,” said Duke University neurosurgeon Gerald Grant, who was an Air Force physician at Joint Base Balad in that country. Patients whose scans showed that shrapnel had crossed between the brain’s hemispheres or cut a wide swath of destruction – injuries long thought to be a swift sentence of death – would often live.
But the result, as Giffords may yet show, is almost always a person profoundly changed by the injury.
As many as half of those who have had penetrating brain injury will suffer epileptic seizures and will have a higher risk of them for the rest of their lives, experts say.

But a frontal lobe injury on its own carries a better prognosis, I believe Duminda was lucky based on the information we have at the moment.

No individual should be allowed to carry fire-arms. Prior to 1987, many private persons were allowed to own guns and rifles for sport and for property protection. Now no private person may own a weapon for sport but many are allowed to carry weapons almost all unlicensed which are used by them against those who may threaten them in some way. In Canada, England, Germany etc no one can carry guns. Only the police and certainly not politicians and their friends. Herein lay the problem.

Ban the ownership of hand-guns and automatic weapons introducing a mandatory jail term of 10 years.

Even if he survived a gunshot wound to the head, DS would most likely have undergone multiple surgeries or been paralyzed. Refer to the case of Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot in the head and survived.

The hoodwinking of the people continues. The pictures are fake. Sri Lankans are ever so gullible. Our politicians are past masters at hoodwinking people. We can’t blame Dilini for pulling the same tricks on us.

Dilani,Looks like damage control time eh? Listen my dear, don’t waste your time trying win the propaganda war look for the best lawyers to get him out of the gallows. Dr. Colvin and Mr. G. G. Ponambalam would have pleaded this case and got a reprieve from SC. But they are dead and gone. I wonder who could handle this now?… I won a SC case with the best. It can be done.

Kalu Lal, are you advising her to find a good lawyer to help “Shape” (Sri Lankan term for cover up) in a case everyone knows is a staged cover up!? With the proper investigation that will come from international experts this case will be quickly exposed. No sane lawyer will touch this case unless they want to end their carrier.

The pictures of the skull appears to be that of a demented pre historic ape. These animals were renowned for killing and raping underage females.

The photos are not big enough to say any comments. Usually the CT picture should have the details of the patient, date , etc.

These pictures have no confirmation that it is of Duminda Drug Silva. It could have been taken from a an operative surgery atlas.
If she wants to prove anything, she should post,
    1) operative and management summary from his admission at the Singapore hospital.
    2) Get a foreign neurosurgeon to examine the man, and demonstrate that he had a gun shot injury through the skull and that he has operative scars of a craniotomy.
Of course when he returned from Singapore he had no sings of any craniotomy or post operative symptoms.

You SHOULD BE not coming from Kolonawa.

Else you would have said , cried, describing weeping the manner the boy did to that people – sure drug money but the poor were given some.

Who cried looking at the manner the victimized parties faced it – that was the case for former President widow CBK too. Even today, no matter the manner one s lovely ones are

This nature and culture was introdcued by Rajakashe men. Contribution but not caring where they come from. Be them from common funds or tax payers funds or tsunami donations – are no matters. just contribute to please and appease the gulliable for the moment. Real crooks as no times before. Basil is the number one to bear the certificate on this qualification.

    Sumanasekera
Maheshi is not a quadruple A brilliant student as you make out! She would not have been eligible on her SL ALs to enter, father paid money and got her a foreign degree!!! So much for brilliance?
anyhow she is a brilliant schemer! Making her husband to drink to death, with courtesy Sumal, Getting Sumal to buy her the Pigeon Island resort in Trincomalee, getting Jayawardenapura hospital to buy all hardware for surgery from her husband’s company, and charging patient exorbitant amounts etc. She still does it refer Sunday leader article. Brilliant par excellence my dear Su(ck)manasekera!!!

We were privy to see the Bharatha drug Lakshman Premachandra’s bullet wound displayed by HIRUNIKA……………..

Now, we see the Dhuminda Drug Silva’s skull…………….

Back again the turn of Hirunika…..
Wonder, what pictures she would show NEXT? Await her release.

Its Sunil Perera time …… its a com medy country………..
Poor masses, reconcilliation seekers seems deserted.

From Bujappu to Truthfinder seems aimless & nothing worthwhile to focus on matters of interest which are dear to the poor other than to write on 02 drug Lords.

Enjoy the games of Sinhala Nonas…

If Praheeth Eheliyagoda rumored to be fed to a shark can live in Paris according toe a Minister why not this Kudu dealer can be cured after brain damage and live normally?

Mahavamsa will write after 500 years that this surgery was performed by Sinhala Doctor in Sri Lanka thus Snihalese were so advanced in Medical science in 21st century.

    Modayas will accept this ..

    Cheers
