Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra has made a public appeal requesting authorities to investigate Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne, the consultant neurosurgeon who allegedly covered up for Duminda Silva.
In a post published today on her Facebook page which shows a picture of her father, lying dead on a hospital stretcher which clearly shows the fatal gun shot injury to his head, Hirunika said, “I am posting this picture not for your sympathy, but for you to understand this is how ‘shot in the head’ looks like. It’s impossible to live even a second after a shot like this,” she said.
Therefore, she said an investigation should be launched soon against the doctor who submitted false medical information to the Court. Wijeratne, a very close acquaintance of Access Group Chairman Sumal Perera is alleged to have come to the rescue of Duminda Silva soon after his shoot out with Premachandra, helping him cover up by submitting a false report claiming that Silva, had suffered brain injury as a bullet had travelled through his brain during the shooting between Pramachandra and Silva and their thugs.
Sumal Perera was a close associate of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and had been the middle man in bringing in Wijeratne to the scene to help Silva who claims to have lost his memory over the incident.
Silva is currently on death row after being found guilty for murdering Premachandra.

This woman Maheshi Wijeratne is a disgrace for not only doctors in Srilanka but for the medical profession globally. How could she ever certify, that this murderer was shot through the head and made a clean and complete recovery except for just an amnesia for the events relating to the shoot out?

May be all the records are maintained at Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital and if these are true that Duminda Silva did in fact had serious head injuries and he did in fact recover ‘fully’ due to the talent, intelligence and skills of the able neurosurgeon Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne then the public statement made by Hirunika Premachandra is totally unfounded.
Hirunika is known to talk out of turn and she had in fact displayed her total immaturity and idiocy when she had got a man abducted, taking the law into her hands. She got away nearly scot free only because of having good connection and had if any ordinary person committed the same he would not be walking free like Hirunika but would be now been sentenced to a jail sentence but nothing of that sort happened to Hirunika and she got into the delusion she was right.
Now she has committed a bigger offence involving an equally influential person the Consultant Neurosurgeon Dr. Meheshika Wijeratne. She should now charge Hirunika in courts for rushing to make public statements defamatory of her without verifying the facts and when she in fact brought back a severely injured person (Duminda Silva) with brain injuries to normal. She would claim she had to be really commended for her talent, skills and dedicated care she provided to the person.
Dr. Meheshi Wijeratne is possibly now in a very strong position, and will claim she can prove Duminda Silva did have brain injury due to the gunshot wound he received and was treated by brain surgery.
She will claim she suffered unbearable psychological trauma and had lost her reputation and respect due to Hirunika’s outward lies told to the public abusing her privilege as a member of Parliament.
She will claim Billions as damages for the irreparable loss of reputation and mental agony she suffered.
Certainly the photos published by Duminda’s Sister looks genuine and am sure the hospital has all records and it will be impossible for Hirunika to challenge hospital records which are supported by CT scans, operation notes, and other entries and investigations.
Hirunika from what I have read and seen on TV/YouTube does appear as a person who is foolish, headstrong, talking out of turn, and the typical fool who rush where angels fear to tread.
Even the public knows Hirunika is not mature, acts before thinking and gets into trouble but due to the influence she derives managed to save her. Unfortunately she did not learn any valuable lesson and this time she is in serious trouble. She is facing another equally powerful lady Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne Consultant Neurosurgeon and she is fully armed with undisputable facts. So unfortunately now all the king’s horses and all the king’s men cannot do anything for Hirunika to save her being found guilty by courts. She will not have the money to pay as damages and have to sell her (Hiru)knickers too to raise at least a small part of the money to pay as damages.
Hiru-knickers should have verified the facts first as these facts could have easily been checked before she accused the neurosurgeon of giving false medical certificate to help Duminda escape from justice. Now Hiru-knickers has fallen into serious trouble.
This is what happens to people who use influence to escape and then get in to a delusion thinking that they are innocent and never wrong and keep on making the same mistake until get caught into a serious trouble. Had if Hiru-knickers was left alone to fend for herself when she made her first mistake she would have learnt a good lesson and corrected her, when the offence was relatively trivial.
Sorry now, Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne is in a strong wicket and her case can be easily proved and courts is bound to agree for the sum she demands as damages. Hiru-knickers will in addition forced to make a public apology as well.
If the published photos are in fact true (which can very easily checked)serves the loose mouth idiot Hiru-knickers right. At least now on she should control her loose mouth.

Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne Consultant Neurosurgeon is no fool. She never spoke out of turn when Hiruknickers made wild allegations against her. She kept quiet without getting dragged into the mudsling bath with the fool Hiruknickers, and allowed her to get deeper and deeper in the mud. She gave a long rope for Hiruknickers to hang herself.
Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne will only come out and strongly where it matters, and that is the courts when she would charge the knickerfool for billions as damages. The hospital where the neurosurgeon treated certainly has all the records including the CT scans revealing the nature of the injuries Duminda suffered. The neurosurgeon too have a right to seek justice in the way the loose mouth idiot had sought for her loss of her father.
Duminda certainly was involved in the killing of Mr. Premachandra and he was sentenced to death. But be careful the Neurosurgeon Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne is only the doctor of Duminda. She has a right to treat him when he was seriously injured. Looking at the photos Dumida’s sister published at her Facebook and if true (these can be easily verified through the Sri Jayawardenepura hospital records), I can say this neurosurgeon did a marvelous job using her intelligence, talent, skill and dedication to bring back the patient to normalcy and she really should be commended and not have her medical license forfeited denying many other patients also of her skill.
Surely Hiruknickers is in a soup when she will not have the money to pay the Neurosurgeon as damages for the severe mental agony and loss of her reputation caused by spreading rumours against this doctor without checking the facts properly which are easily available and now would have to sell everything she owns right down to her knickers and still would not be able to pay her damages. She will have to go to jail.

I certainly do not doubt Dumnida Silva murdered Premachandra Hirunika’s father. He deserved the death sentence. The family of the late MP certainly got justice which includes Hirunika.
But we should not forget all citizens also deserve the same justice if any calculated harm was inflicted. That justice very much applies to the neurosurgeon Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne too. If the fact has been proved using all evidences available that Duminda did have brain injury, which is certainly very easy as all records are available in the Sri Jayawardenepura hospital, then this neurosurgeon certainly needs justice for the pain of mind, and irreparable loss of reputation Hirunika had caused.
If the facts are right then the neurosurgeon did in fact perform a miracle indeed to not only save Duminda’s life but also brought him back to normal with no apparent disabilities. She should in fact have been commended instead of being dragged to a mudsling orchestrated by the loose mouth idiot Hirunika which is not the first time she has done.
The good doctor has behaved so very well in the aftermath of her character assassination by Hirunika, being quiet maintaining her calm throughout, which proves her strength of her caliber. She is a consultant am sure not a fool and she is careful how she treads this problem and will not anyway spoil her chances to seek the justice she deserves. Certainly am sure she is taking legal advise maintaining a deadly silence and am sure her case is strong and will one day all will explode in the proper place the courts and not in the streets a hallmark of Hirunika’s style.
Then only this fool Hirunika will realize her plight. She will not have the money to pay as damages. She will have to sell everything she owns including her knickers and still will not be able to raise that amount of cash. She will then end up in jail and I imagine she will again join with Duminda there and possibly become good friends! But her family may end up on the streets.
Everyone deserves justice, Hirunika got her justice for the murder of her father and she cannot play hide and seek with the Neurosurgeon’s justice. Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne too is a human being done great service to the severely injured patient and brought her back to normal without any disabilities. She had a duty to treat and she did so very well, for which it is unfair to have her punished by the medical council just because this loose mouth idiot Hirunika is ‘powerful’ and the patient was her enemy.
The Government is duty bound to protect the innocent and punish the guilty irrespective the power or the influence they seem to possess.
