By Jagath Asoka –
Now, almost everybody hates Hitler; when he was in power, almost everybody feared him. I was talking to my son about lies, and I said, “Small lies are essential for survival.” He asked, “Do you know what Hitler said about lying; I said, “No.” “If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”
I am partially dyslexic: You see God and Temples, when I write about Dogs and Kennels.
I like what Hitler said about himself and others: “Do not compare yourself to others. If you do so, you are insulting yourself.”
This article is not about Hitler or Einstein, but about Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Obama. I am going to paraphrase one of my favorite quotes by Obama: When I walk into a room, you do not see my white mother; you see a black man. So, I am going to give what you want.
I respect both Gandhi and Martin Luther King: Gandhi liberated India from the British Empire; Martin Luther emancipated black Americans: Emancipation without violence.
Do not preach Buddhism to me: If you do, please protect your left and right cheeks, because I might kiss them.
I agree with Gandhi about acid. Anger is like acid; it eats the vessel. If I were a physicist, I would also agree with him about electricity.
But I think anger is also like nuclear energy: If you channel it properly, you can produce electricity; or turn into Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
According to Gandhi, there are two types of anger: Physical and emotional. On CT we see only emotional anger. There is a connection between these two types. When you get angry and insult people, they will kill you.
Buddhism is just a part of what we call religion. Non-religion is when you borrow from all religions.
Is “Ponnaya” a bad word, or a just a crude but effective way of describing abominable behavior?
Compare yourself: Now and a second later; are you the same person?
American Newspapers do not publish if your opinion is longer than a page. So, what is E = M2. Hint: E= Emancipation. I am tired of verbosity. Next week, I am going to enter an asylum; I will write to you from my cell.
“If you win, you need not have to explain; if you lose, you should not be there to explain!”-Hitler. Dilka Samanmali: Wow, a new Dilka.

Jagath@,
thanks and nice to read from you again. Best thing would be to forget what many commentators deliberately added their disparaging remarks to your last article. Please write us a good article about lanken press freedom, fraudulent elections, and the unpredictable behaviour of state leaders like MR and his rural folks or the like so that we can discuss it on this forums. No doubt that will bring us all together…

No Jagath, Please do not try to make any sense out of the non sense that Sri Lankan politics is today. You will make our despondency only greater.
Stick to nonsense please.

‘Obama: When I walk into a room, you do not see my white mother; you see a black man’
Well that’s because he has a black skin and features. If he had a white skin and features they might not see his black father.
I think too much is made of all this. With inter-marriage and the large Chinese and Indian populations the human race is going to end up khaki with almond eyes. Being partly of Malay origin, I’m already there!

Most brilliant piece of writing that I ever came across on the internet. At a time when the quality of writing online has hit an all time low, this piece by Dr. Jagath Asoka provides a benchmark for what intelligent writing should be. The author provides a penetrating, original analysis and profound, rare insight into a wide range of topics such as Hitler, Lies, Dyslexia, God, Dogs, Einstein, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Obama, British Empire, Buddhism, Anger, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Ponnaya, American Newspapers, E=M2, and Dilka Samanmali. All in a very sharp and concise article of mere 300 words.
Never in the field of human knowledge is so much wisdom expressed in words so few.

“Never in the field of human knowledge is so much wisdom expressed in words so few. “
That is exactly why it is not a parable or passable .

I have two points, I wish to raise.
a) Hitler was adored, voted by his people, agreed with his views on the German Social Problem, did his bidding and today everybody dustbins him and his era.
And how history repeats it self, in another part of the world.
b) Btw, Biology Loves Diversity. ” Ponnaya ” is a derogatory term used by us to slander others who have different sexual attractions. We are the only living species that attack those who have different sexual preferences. Our ancient writings, the Upanishads speaks to this difference. Man, Woman, Man in Woman, Woman in Man and those in the in-between.
Thanks for reading.

DR. Asoka, very happy to see you back. I read anything you write and collecting them, which are interesting, have different approach and a unique style of your own. You stand tall among many columnists and obviously different from many other contributors to CT. Love your honesty, boldness, the analytical mind and courage of sharing your truthful thoughts without any hesitation. The way you pour your mind out, with satire and sarcasm, by suppressing the anger, frustration, disgust about all the things going on in the name of religion, race, politics in our country and expressing your attitude in your writing is so impressive. Reading them give me some kind of pleasure and satisfaction that cannot be described in my simple language. I’m not that well read or much educated but enjoy reading political satire, humor and even serious matters interesting to all. I feel that you are on a mission of ‘soul searching’ and wish you success. May god bless you with bliss. I get it by listening to verities of music of south Indian Carnatic, North Indian Hindustani, Gazal, Arabian music, Hindu/Christian/Islamic religious songs etc.,and Music has no language Saluda ! Gracias !!

For someone who claims “I’m not that well read or much educated” your sentences are crafted with scintillating clarity – it is a joy to read your responses.
And I could not have articulated it any handsomer on Jagath’s piercingly honest and temerarious articles.

I also like his writings- when only concerned about his style of writing, but wish more him to thoroughly consider serious issues as they really are because the situation in the home country – those living there are becoming worst day to another, people^s freedom become thinner day to another – almost similar to Lybia before the dictator was found murdered into drain. Our crime friendly society to this day is not far different to that of lybia to this day.
Just the cover is printed to show the world that we have democracy, but no recourse to any opposition parties within the criminal outfit established by the rulers. I asked why the people let waited Kenda (single fibre)becomes Kanda (a mountain).

E=MxM ?
Extermination = Murder x Murder
why EXTERMINATION ? Not few weeks ago, they the rulers (Gota the nation^s executionist – ordered to kill over 300 stray dogs found/collected in cmbo itself)
Murder – Murder has become like sitting for daily meals – ROUTINIZED to this day – more like MR typical kiribath eating sessions at Temple trees.

The tyranny of our own times??
“Gooo”ta is Opium God and is selling the commercial hub of Colombo to the centenaries old Opium dealers and Jam boys for favours from Europe and India.
The Sinhalese cannot break it because of its own origin without beginning- bandits of Bihar and quite recently during the Dutch period Post at Patna.
Interestingly, the great Japanese have used tremendous amount of cash and technology to find the beginning and end of Bodhidharma 5th Centenary(Zen), Mahanama 5th Centenary (Theravada)- both subjects of Pallavas (the Bihari Bandits who conned Andhra with knowledge of the Vedas as there was no accomplished language called Telugu in the 2nd centenary) and finally Gautama.
They found nothing but in exasperation say all 3 characters came from Persia- this can never be true given the ambiguity of geographical references in writings of these period.Like Tin Tin stories the opium of the masses.
Ever wondered why Ajanta and Ellora, and many more were constructed by Hindu kings and Nalanda was sponsored by 200 Hindu villages?? Why Chandra Gupta Maurya died a Jain at Karnataka?? Asoka was not non-violent after adopting Buddhism.

E = M x M
End = Mahindalike x Million
(-> Mahinda like people in Millions can lead us to end (end of mankind – destruction by all means). This is rock-bottom :( Aiyoooooooooo ?
Ranil is a gentleman. There are few like him remained in the lanken politics. Instead there are millions of Mahindas (with same mind sets – malevolent, megalomaniac, deceitful by all ways )
Right at the moment, this is unfortunately the case in the country.
Many stay puzzled. Some leave their furious remarks to this and the like threads, while others stay biting their nails. What to do, whom to trust more and the like go through almost everyone^s head.

@Samuel, I’m humbled by your comment about my two cents worth one ! Just trying to be sincere and honest as much as I can. Dr.Jagath inspires me, I don’t know how and why. It’s a new experience reading ‘him’ in his articles. Be it politics, science, Buddhism,Christianity, his ‘auto-biography’..nothing is boring to me. Wish I can write like him, but love reading his ‘whatever’, follow his style and one day try it out. Respect everyone’s comment, no matter how ‘hitting below the belt’ they are about Dr.J’s writings or even if some of them makes me sad. We all are individually different, have our own taste and the opinions may differ. That’s very natural. No one knows everything, and no one is ‘perfect’ in our world. Perfection is in our mind and it depends on how we look at things with our knowledge, background, experience, level of tolerance, open mind and the degree of ego one possess. Nothing is wrong or Right. Just taking it easy makes life peaceful. Ooopps..Let me get back to the title and try again to solve the puzzle; E = MxM
Experience = Mind x Maturity… -:)

Here is a hint: 13th word of your first article should be your real name. It can be the 26th word or the 39th word etc. I do not want to write more than 300 words any more. Good Luck! There are so many new and bright contributors to CT!You are Next!
