Economy, Easter Phoenix & Politics

By Ameer Ali

Dr. Ameer Ali

The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it” ~ (George Orwell).

While the economy is still struggling to steady itself, new and startling revelations about the Easter massacre, had appeared like a phoenix through a British TV channel, and caught many politicians on the hop. The timing of those revelations closer to the next session of UNHCR in Geneva may have prompted President Ranil Wickremesinghe (RW) to take some action. It has been reported that he would appoint a retired judge to probe into the matter soon after he returns from his trip to Cuba and US. This will be another time-wasting exercise possibly ending in another committee of inquiry. Already a Parliamentary Select Committee and a Presidential Commission of Inquiry had probed into the matter and still the masterminds behind that horror are yet to be brought to justice. The truth behind that infamy has remained elusive. The Catholic Archbishop of Colombo backed by Vatican had been relentless in calling for an independent inquiry by international investigators, and now the leader of the main opposition has joined him. Meanwhile the usual tactic of disparaging the TV channel and source of those revelations continue.

Be that as it may, IMF delegates are expected to arrive soon to audit the progress made since the first tranche was released. No doubt some progress had been made particularly in terms of financial stability. Except for the failure to hit the tax revenue mark of 4.2 trillion rupees targeted by IMF for 2023, other economic indicators show a degree of improvement. Achieving monetary stability through prudent management of the country’s finance by CBSL should be credited and its effort to bring down headline inflation to around 5 percent or less through a deliberate policy of capital control should also be commended. But domestic prices still remain high dampening consumer spending.  On domestic debt restructuring the Inland Revenue Act has been amended by the parliament to support CBSL’s DDO measures to bring in EPF, ETF and other superannuation funds to share the burden of debt reduction. Naturally this iniquitous step after exempting the banks has provoked strong opposition from the trade unions. Apart from that opposition how successfully would DDO help negotiations over foreign debt restructuring is yet to be seen. On top of all this, the government has decided to keep its maximum annual borrowing limit to 9 trillion rupees, which together with foreign debt would amount to a total debt of a staggering $96 billion so far.  Will Sri Lanka ever be debt free?

There are also other issues that would make economic revival slow and painful. For example, IMF’s and World Bank’s prognosis of a weakening global economy caused primarily by the War in Europe and climatic change is becoming increasingly worrisome because of a struggling Chinese economy. This downturn would mean a shrinking international trade sector.  In that context, whether Sri Lanka like several other small open economies which are excessively debt burdened and desperately need to achieve trade surplus could ever emerge debt free is extremely doubtful.  Besides, IMF’s stipulations to undertake structural reforms and end corruption have not proceeded beyond the discussion stage. On corruption, the recent defeat of a motion in parliament to remove the health minister who was widely accused of corrupt behaviour shows how political brinkmanship is caging the president and preventing him to act in the interest of the public. However, there is talk of a mini cabinet reshuffle to get rid of this minister.

In the meantime, foreign remittances and tourist income had helped to achieve a temporary surplus in BOP although the all-important balance of trade is in deficit. True, decades of systematic mismanagement cannot be corrected in just one or two years.  But the IMF pathway without overthrowing the existing socio-political and economic paradigm will never liberate this nation from its poly-crisis. Still and in all probability, the delegates would recommend the release of the second tranche for other reasons. RW’s neo-liberal commitment to the free market economy, his willingness to reshape the country’s foreign policy and strategic alliances to suit the preferences of IMF shareholders, and therefore the need to assist him to continue as president after 2024 would play a significant role in that recommendation.

However, while the economy is wriggling to get out of the crisis political parties are looking for winnable issues to win the forthcoming presidential race. Sinhala Buddhist ultranationalism once again is on the march looking for a political party or a coalition of parties to champion its cause at that election. A number of flashpoints have cropped up from Kurundoor in the north and Trincomalee in the east to the British TV revelations, which is alleged to be the handiwork of Tamil diaspora could be utilized to whip up anti-Tamil and anti-Muslim fervour to win the Sinhala Buddhist votes.  The saffron army as usual has already warned diabolic consequences were RW’s reconciliation agenda be carried out.  These developments would be a setback to economic revival.

In this communal politics, NPP/JVP seems to be an exception even though its opponents would keep on reminding the public of JVP’s communalist origins in the 1970s. That the majority of the current generation of JVP leadership and members were not even born in 1970s is conveniently forgotten in the anti-NPP/JVP propaganda. On the contrary, it is only this party that has an economic alternative to offer in place of the neoliberal free market model, and is also willing to change the current socio-political system structured on communalist architecture. With a democratic constitution based on secular principles this party guarantees equal rights and obligations to every citizen irrespective of his or her religion, language or ethnicity. Meritocracy with accountability and independence of judiciary seem to be the pillars on which an NPP government hopes to rule. Its concept of a social market economy that would mean that the model will be market friendly and not market controlled. And more importantly, the NPP model would have a strong domestic focus to maximize the country’s internal strength and productivity in contrast to the open economy model which puts all its eggs in the export basket. This alternative is also different from the 1970s dogmatic import substitution industrialization model of the Sirimavo Government which ended in total disaster.  But will NPP be given a chance to govern on its own? It is going to be a tough but welcoming challenge.

‘IMF’s stipulations to undertake structural reforms and end corruption have not proceeded beyond the discussion stage’.
When even Inquiries don’t produce anything meaningful, what could poor Discussion produce!
    .
‘its opponents would keep on reminding the public of JVP’s communal origins.’
Ameer Ali has a soft corner for JVP. Not that there is anything wrong with it. But, why cling on to the name JVP?
Would not a new name and beginning be helpful in assuaging the fear of voters.

“Would not a new name and beginning be helpful in assuaging the fear of voters.”

It has a new name, National People’s Power (NPP), an alliance of some sort, 30 odd organisation, the packaging is new, say old wine in new bottle, nothing else is new or innovative, …. some still believe in Stalinism/Maoism, … the old guards want to control everything possible, even our private life, ready to hire and support Gnanasara, a party still practices feudalistic loyalties, cannot and won’t adapt modern ways of production, modern or new markets, AI, …. modern political system, modern …. As leader AKD is its public face.

Many have lost confidence in JVP/NPP.

By the way the Cross Dresser (Malcom), Sirisena, now Dinesh, Champika, mummy’s boy Sajith, …. are the new converts …. who prefer International Investigation,… I wonder what will happen to their much cherished sovereignty (whatever that is)?

        Native Vedda,
        You don’t get it.
‘… in JVP/NPP’, isn’t JVP hiding behind NPP.
Is that the new that I suggested.

Does this nincompoop of a president imagine that we, the citizens, have nothing else to do than to remind him of the most important business that he has to attend to?
    .
Why can’t he get the horrors of the Easter Bombs investigated ASAP?
    .
The Economic issues I’m not competent to talk about. Whey should I, when Dr Ameer Ali is there. Unfortunately he’s too old (as he will be the first to admit!) to take over as President.
    .
Therefore, my stand also remains: conduct elections, and let the winners (I’m hoping that it’ll be the NPP) take over. That also must be done ASAP.

Fear not! The great man has appointed one of his renowned “committees” that is sure to get to the bottom of the issue and punish all the culprits. …….. Rejoice! he won’t leave anything for your AKD to do about murder or corruption.

Enlightening clip ……. I didn’t know any of this ………. Just like Ranil/Rajapakse who serve the country without any perks or even expecting a pension in retirement …….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JE2wOwA1Ho

Praise is due to JR for establishing the current altruistic culture …… and his disciples Ranil/Rajapakse for strengthening it …….. and people like Native for giving them uncritical unstinting support ……

With JR-trained and nurtured Ranil at the helm, the country is in good hands. ……….. The country is truly blessed!

Native finally has what he always wanted: Ranil as the president. …… Native’s the happiest man alive! Cock-a-hoop!

Nothing but milk and honey from now on!

Milk and honey for whom is the 18 billion dollar question!

Doesn’t look like it’s for the average working man ……. but who cares? ……. Like Ranil and Native, I’ve learned to look down my nose on average working man with utter disdain ……

Like Sinhala_Man, I look up to the English speaking ……. if I can go to Charlie’s coronation in tailcoat and tie and speak to Charlie for 13 seconds, everyone knows I’ve got my priorities right ……..

Nimal, read today’s editor’s article on Island “Laws made to be broken”. 1) A watered down anti corruption bill was passed on 9th after NCM against Health Minister was defeated. This will come effective only after 15th so that other politicians like Rambuke can get off scot free. 2) All political parties clamoring today, united in early 1990 to emasculate CIABOC denying it’s powers to investigate corruption / graft charges. Every govt has since kept it under it’s thumb. 3) In 2015 MS / RW promised and won on anti corruption platform, and what happened after is history. 3) Mangala of UNP told media Rajapaksas have hidden assets worth > USD 18 Billion, and foreign intelligence are helping them is tracking and bringing it back. 4) After returning to power Rajapaksas promised to recover Bond Scam money. In turn they caught up with lost time, by committing numerous corrupt deals ( food, medicine, energy . . . . .) 5) Today they all have closed ranks savoring power together. 6) What is obvious in Sorry Lanka cannot be wrong. (except for those who are corrupt as these politicians)

Says, Gotha is backing the new party which was recently PURCHASED (exact words, no kidding ) by his close aide , media and business tycoon Dilith Jayaweera. OMG, unbelievable stuff. According to media, politician Ranjith, stressed that the perpetrators behind Easter can be forgiven. “We ????? are ready to forgive the perpetrators Mandela forgave those wrong doers, why not we / me ??? (just got upgraded from politician to Mandela, nice try ) . The church only wants to know the truth ( but not the judiciary). One should not be afraid to embrace the truth ( no kidding Cardinal, was there ever human rights violation ???? )”. Looks like Cardinal got enlightened / born again, over the weekend.

This recalls to mind Sisyphus’s punishment.
Sisyphus is punished in the underworld by the god Zeus, who forces him to roll a boulder up a hill for eternity. Every time he nears the top of the hill, the boulder rolls back down.
All this is wasted labour, wasted time and a waste of taxpayer’s money.
Let us have an international investigation as that will save our money and produce credible results.
Let the UN or one of its bodies pick up the tab for the entire investigation.

The truth about what happened on Easter Sunday 2019 should be seen in the context of everything else that happens in Sri Lanka. MPs smuggling in gold, are let off with a small fine; drunk state ministers ravaging prisoners at gun point still hold their jobs, swindlers of central bank bonds or tax on sugar importation remain free, not having to pay the due tax of billions of rupees; murders of prominent journalists who spoke against national leaders or exposed their crimes remain unresolved; a murder of a rugby coach over a girl friend is unresolved; so many presidential commissions of enquiry have been made at huge public expense for many such injustices, but no recommendations are ever implemented; many crimes are covered up by erasing evidence and silence of the ones who aid and enable them; major criminals protect each other within and outside the political, corporate, judicial and legislative systems. So, is it any wonder that the truth about Easter Sunday remain shrouded in secrecy while laughable attempts are made by the criminals to absolve themselves? Only a popular revolution where everyone stands shoulder to shoulder and claim back their country can bring justice to victims, and punishment for crimes against humanity.

Today news, forensic experts and real archaeologists continuing excavation at Kokkutuduwai mass grave, recovered complete skeletal remains of female bodies. JMO Mullaitivu hospital K.Vasudeva ( note a TAMIL) said, fragmented skeletal remains of another three bodies had also been recovered. He further said, decaying uniforms similar to LTTE , a worn out service badge bearing the number, fragments of weapons and cartridges, were among those recovered. Now, all it takes to close this case is a second opinion from the other / religious archaeology dept showing LTTE killed their own members, or they all committed suicide, or like the last time, send specimen to China, who will date it back to Lankan civilization / relatives of Balangoda man or worse they are not human remains ????? “But the IMF pathway without overthrowing the existing socio-political and economic paradigm will never liberate this nation from its poly-crisis.”
The above sentence tells all of us what the country needs as it’s first move on the way to make the country to come out of the deep shit. As long as RW is dependent on SLPP & Rajapaksas, there is not going to be real progress in the country. Appointing Committees/Commissions to get over ‘crises’ is NOT the way to GOVERN. It is a wastage of public money.

The NPP is way out of its depth. We have a huge debt piled up by the Maha Modeya of Hambanthota in his infinite greed. The voters voted for him and his even more dumb brother who brought us an organic disaster. Just how does the latest set of idiots AKA the NPP propose to pay off the debt without going to the IMF? Donations from the expatriates seems to be the answer. Do you think that those who live abroad have money trees in their back yard. Do you know the effective tax rate on income in all these other countries that Sri Lankans live in? Do you know the inflation rates in these countries. The majority of expatriates are liars who never tell you the real picture. It is one thing to lie about you own prosperity abroad and create a desire among Sri Lankans to flee their motherland en-masse it is another act of stupidity to believe these lies and craft a debt repayment policy based on the lies. That is the NPP. We live in a world of Neo Con driven economic policies aimed at enriching the rich and treating the rest of humanity like chattel. The NPP and its sycophants are ill equipped dilettantes incapable of surviving in this monstrosity.

  • 10
    2

A vote for the NPP is a vote to drive the final nail in the coffin of Sri Lanka’s Economy. We cannot afford anymore costly miss steps such as the previous ones. This author claims to be from the Murdoch University. This reminds me of one Rupert Murdoch the asinine scourge whose media empire has decimated three of the richest countries on the planet. Misinforming and down right lying to thier populations into voting against their own interest. This is exactly what has happened in Sri Lanka twice before and maybe again. Out planet is on fire. The equivalent of ten Hiroshima bombs per second worth of heat energy is absorbed into the oceans and the oceans cannot sustain this assault anymore. Instead of cutting the burning of fossil fuels to zero which is what is required, a total of 7 Trillion Dollars in subsidies were given last year to the fossil fuel industry. This set a new record. The powers that be have no intention of doing anything about the looming disaster. It is business as usual. And you lot want to usher in the NPP the most inept bunch of clowns to run Sri Lanka.

“But will NPP be given a chance to govern on its own? It is going to be a tough but welcoming challenge. “
    Dr Ammer Ali,
To answer this question you have to give answers to many questions. It looks very simple you but it needs a firm confident answers to many questions which were not dealt with for decades.
Sri Lanka is a very complex country. It is now a bankgrupted country with 93 billion debt where there is no law and order, almost corrupted from top to bottom, a past history of in-depth instiutionally racist with buddhist fundamentalism in all public and private institutions such as presidency, parliament, judiciary, military, public service and people. Because of these problems, the regional and international powers have established their powers strongly and firmly in this soil.
Do you have answers to all these problems? Do the NPP have solutions to these problems? To creat a new country you have to colpletely destroy the existing institutions and systems. Is it possible? Are people ready to sacrifice for this challenge?

The economic collapse has been caused DELIBERATELY by the politicians and the government officials, who should have been held criminally responsible for it. Countries with worse economy than Sri Lanka had managed to stay afloat during Covid pandemic. So why only Sri Lanka???
    /
According to foreigners who are interested in Sri Lankan politics think economic collapse is artificial and still being held it down. They also believe the resignation of GR, Economic collapse, appointing Christian RW as the de facto president by his best friend MR, the Aragalaya, UNP backing down in the last election, etc are EPISODES in one MEGA DRAMA, and there are more episodes to come.

      Dear Readers,

The majority of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna(SLPP) (which won more than 6.9 million votes in Gota’s election) still support the real criminals in the south, the so called Tonys.

These TONYs are brainwashsed from “Sinhala Buddhism which is far from true Buddhism” and are ruled by Sinhala nationalism, racism, radicalism and extremism. To me, these people are like poisonous reptiles living in a symbiotic relationship with a garbage dump (Vanatamulla).
      .
Further to this, these Tonys are eternally blind and have no ABC level knowledge about the gluttonous politics that Mlechcha Rajapaksa is running in the country. In the name of “Sinhala-Buddhism and Sinhala-Uttamachara” it is okay to allow the Rajapaksas to corrupt their beloved.

      to be continued.

Sinhala Buddhists often laugh at the “Muslim fanatic” but our Sinhala Buddhist fundamentalists are no better. They enjoy dressing up the wild elephants in order to live up their Jataka stories. If these animals would have the talent to communicate, they would hate -sinhla-bddhist- forever. These Tonies USUALLY didn’t think twice about getting “Rajapaksa’s Linga” tattooed on their hearts, foreheads and wherever else they saw fit. We warned them enough….. but their stubborness behaviours made them etneral RAJAPAKSHE-SLAVES.

As has been said not once but dozens of times before, the super majority of our Sinhalese nation is *******extremely stupid*******

. With (GLP, DJ, NALIN DE SILVA, MALIN SENEVIRANTE, RANJITH BANDARA are some of the common examples) or without degree tiles, they behave the same in various general problems. They are far from rational thinking.

Dumber than one would ever guess.

The Rajapaksas have built their fantasy by studying the eternal stupidity of the majority. However, the bubble will soon burst. That is my wish, I see some signs at the end of the tunnel, it will be a reality in the near future…. truths will always succeed.

“Economy” can be RECOVERED, RESHAPED, and REVITALIZED to benefit all.

But “EASTER PHOENIX” will gather moss and be buried to resurface every now and then unless and until fully pledged FREE of any interference Investigative Mechanism is set to function and find all HIDDEN and MYSTERY hands are brought to book.

I am a bit worried as to why this writer refers to “JVP” while the “JVPeers” themselves identify as “NPP”. Does he forget that there are three NPP MPs in the Present Parliament? All three contested at the last General Parliamentary Election on the nominations from NPP.

May I ask you to see it right again please ?

NPP is their front name. JVP is still the only party in that front. Isn’t it so?
      Mr. Douglas?
Why don’t we call a spade a spade? Unlike the comments being abused by SINHALA_MAN, I do respect your comments.
      :
There is no doubt that AKD can be another public speaker for our stupid led- people as Wimal Buruwansa has done it as MR-BOY.

However, there is a sinhlaa parlance in vernacular ” kathawa doolaawen gamana payin “කතාව දොළaවෙන් ගමන පයින්””. Can you think that they will walk the talk ?
If you are forgotten of the saying, please get it from ” your kadamandiya people”: I am planning to visit them in November again. May be I could send you a hello from my hotel in Unawatuna.

Why are you trying to mislead the nation and distort it? We should be able to see the dialogue coming from the JVP leadership with the statement of “the other two” between “Dr. Harini Amarasuriya – Former Senior Lecturer”.

      Dear Douglas,
      .
I feel that you are being a bit unfair by “this writer” Dr Ameer Ali when you fault him for referring to the JVP. It is in the concluding paragraph that you see some references that you don’t agree with.
      .
Ameer refers to the JVP as having been communalistic in the 1970s. When the 1971 insurrection took place, I had only just begun teaching in Kandeggedera MMV in the middle of Sarnia Group, Badulla District, after being trained as a teacher of English at the the Maharagama Training College.
      .
      Tamil children in classes below Grade Five were in schools run by the the Estate (this applied to all plantation areas where there had been indentured labour “imported” from India.) From Grades 6 to O. Levels, they were in our school, denied the right to participate in sports (where all that was available was athletics). They were not allowed, period. (The sole exception was Sivaraman who was somehow studying in the Sinhala Medium, and was a fine marathon runner.) Now Ameer says that the current JVP leaders were not even born then. Wrong, Ameer;

AKD was born in November 1968. By March 1973, I had been kicked out of (transferred only, actually) from Kandegedera to Malitta M.V. because I had got pro-active about the right of Tamil students to at least run, jump and throw in various athletic events. Those children met in the afternoons in buildings half a mile away, where the Grade One and Two Sinhalese children studied in the morning (and the furniture was what was meant for them!)
      .
A few Tamil students trekked 6 miles up mountains and down dales to Badulla (12 miles by bus). The JVP then was just not bothered. Now, Douglas, since the toddler Anura, in far away Tambuttegama (Anuradhapura District) didn’t join in agitating then for Tamil Rights, perhaps we should fault him! I don’t know much about Wijeweera’s famous Five Lessons, but I’m told that one of them was about how “Indian Tamils” had displaced the Sinhalese villagers – or something like that.
      .
Two days ago, AKD met some retired servicemen in Badulla. This was his speech there:

      .
We have a language problem here. Many Tamil CT readers understand very little Sinhalese, and Ameef understands nothing! So much so, that Ameer was unaware that AKD actually had a meeting in his town, Perth, Western Australia:

the only way to expose those who materminded the easter sunday bombings is for a international investigation. We have to wait for sajit to become the next president for that to happen.

      Shankar,
      .
As I have mentioned elsewhere, the Sinhala/Tamil diaspora must come together and demand this from the international community. An international investigation will definitely clear the doubts.

Sri Lankan courts can no longer be trusted. This should be evident to the masses as of today.

Either they let it drag on, or treat any kind of “Rajakshe Mega Crimes” with stepmotherly attention:

Best example of the recent years: the apparent Gampaha Land (Gampaha Property) became “nobody’s crime” because the courts did not investigate the case independently.
      .
We must finally stand up against Sri Lanka’s “Mafia Boss – Paulo Escuba”. The amount of high crime committed through his intervention is beyond all estimation.
      .
Only then we can get rid of RAJAAKSHE-PANDEMIC srilanka for better future. It would certainly be like “removing a lump” for the benefit of the patient. The rest of Sri Lanka must be free from the interference of the Rajapaksas and their henchmen.

Currently (during the UNHRC sitting 54) there is a concern within certain quarters of Tamil activists that UNHRC is no longer pushing to top the war crimes of Appe Aanduwa in its sessions. I have to be a double talker here because I do not have a methodology to approach UNHRC’s non result providing actions. Further UN & UNHRC’s swore position that they will keep the word “Tamil” out of these international Bodies render the situation too high for any attempt to cross. As a result, we do not know whether to like or hate UNHRC’s starting process of this sitting. Ms. Nada Al-Nashif, Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, opened the review session of Langkang with her speech barely saying anything about the war crime unleashed over Tamils. But she mentioned many deficiencies of the Aanduwa against the earlier session’s resolution 50/1 and its two major issues 1). creating an accountability project and 2). Human Rights violation on economic crimes. To bring these out, she referred to Resolutions 50/1 and Resolution 46/1. What is interesting here is these two were referring in their turn, the Resolution of May 2009 & all others following it.

For Long time, Evil Emperor has been blaming Old Rowdy King that he promised to uphold accountability and responsibility in the Colombo joint statement with UN SG and it was ratified in UNHRC’s first special meeting held on this issue and that is why he had to agree with UNHRC for resolution 30/1, which directed Langkang Aanduwa to set up procedure for a 4 pillars Transitional Justice. For our consolation, we Tamils can ourselves refer to these resolutions and feel better that UNHRC’s statements still connect to the original Colombo Joint Statement which was issued when SG Ban Ki Moon traveled to Mulli Vaikkal by his helicopter to witness the war remains. But that consolation is not to be used for relaxing from reminding UN & UNHRC that they achieved nothing from 2009, when UN SG Ban -Ki- Moon released that joint statement with Langkang president to establish accountability and responsibility of the crimes committed on the war fronts, in Mullaitivu.

For Tamils’ observance, UNHRC’s resolutions & Accountability Project and The Evil Emperor’s local action on the four pillar Transitional Justice are swirling on one and the same plane, but their planes never took off into any tangible results. This is why I said here that I have to be a doubler, while thanking UNHRC for its “Resolutions & Accountability Project”, I have had to be harsh criticizer for UNHRC only passing blind resolution while Langkang Aanduwa either refusing for corporation for those agreements or intentionally gives false promise to buy out time and when the time is ripe, it reneges on the promise. In September 2014, on behalf of Langkang, Resolution 30/1 was accepted & co Sponsored by the New King, Evil Emperor and Mangala the greatest liar (FAM). Latter Evil was lying with a lot of excuses and showing the Sinhala Buddhists’ animal instinct, barbaric, rampant, rioting behavior against minorities as a roadblock for his inability to implement anything in the resolution. But one can guess that how much the truth in Evil pointing the savage anger of Sinhala Buddhist were showing whenever there was an attempt to restore Tamils rights, All show the Sinhala Buddhists’ rioting’s ability to work when Evil brutally put down the protesting that was against his Coronation, in July 2022,

After the departure of British colonialists in 1948, any of the Sinhala Buddhists’ fake people actions, including JVP’s two rebellions, until the 4/21 Jihadi suicides, all of them were local ruling parties and/or opposition political parties sponsored sectorial riots, no national up raising. In Southern Langkang, only one people’s uprising took place, because of their dissatisfaction with the contemporary Aanduwa, was the March 2022 Protest. But the Evil suppressed it with Iron Fist hand and rigidly held to the unelected, windfall of power. This is why every time the UNHRC passes a resolution to get the Aanduwa to show some grace & humility, Tamils raise their war flag against the UNHRC. Tamils are feeling tired. While UNHRC sells these resolutions as stimulating incentives for Aanduwa to some action, Tamils contend that these are only attempts to milk a bull.
This time, after UNHRC high commissioner started Langkang review with mentioning the resolution 46/1 and 51/,1 Langkang representative Himalee Arunatilaka read the statements from Aanduwa, which categorically refusing to accept Resolution 46/1 and Resolution 50/1. Yahapalanaya Aanduwa, to keep West cool until they were in power, signed the Resolution 30/1 and promptly left it to its successor, the Hitler’s Administration to revoke it.

So, Communist Denesh, to show his communist disrespect to the authority of UNHRC, on his first appearance at UNHRC as the Foreign Affairs Minister of Langkang, ditched Resolution 30/1 on the floor of UNHRC.
Now Hitler is gone. Evil is in; and noticeably, Communist Dinesh is promoted as the Prime Minister from FAM. But whether the Langkang rep reflected the latest Colombo setup in her speech is unsure. One might think, because Evil allowed the Resolution 30/1 be co-sponsored by his Foreign Affairs Minister, Evil might have instructed the Langkang Rep to reinstate the Resolution because it was revoked by the captain of the Joint Comedy Club, which was the ruthless, enemy opposition of the Evil’s Yahapalanaya Government. It was Communist Denesh who organized the No Confidence Motion to remove Evil from power, during Yahapalanaya time But the Himalee Arunatilaka, very arrogantly reminded to the Commissioner that her government never consented or accepted the Resolutions 46/1 and 51/1 while they are only build up on the May 2009 resolution, and she completely ignored fact that the Resolution 30/1 which was accepted by the current president, remains not reinstated. A government supporting commentator here in CT to show the government’s determination on the human rights issues at UNHRC, wrote “Dogs bark but the Caravan Moves on.”

There is part in Resolution 51/1 about the Economic Crime of the current government. The fun is Comedy IMF is jumping into this and struggling to tame and ride on the Appe Aanduwa horse, which has thrown all jockeys mounted on it, so far. Still more eccentric fun is, the environment appears to be that IMF may not be the last Jockey (or the joker) to fall from the horse before the West learns who the Sinhala Buddhist Viyathmaha rulers are.
