Events: People’s Sovereignty And Human Rights

Platform for Freedom will be organizing a public seminar titled ‘People’s Sovereignty and Human Rights’ to mark the 64th International Human Rights Day.

The seminar will be held on Monday 10th December 2012, 9.45 am to 12.15 pm at National Library Services Board Auditorium, Independence Square, Colombo 7. Human Rights Defenders and Civil Society Activists all over the country will be invited to attend this seminar.

Platform for Freedom is pleased to invite you to participate in this seminar.

Ranil Wickramasinghe; Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu; Executive Director; Centre for Policy Alternatives, Attorney K. W. Janaranjana; Editor in Chief of Ravaya newspaper and Attorney Sudarshana Gunawardana; Executive Director of Rights Now Collective for Democracy will deliver lectures in this seminar.  Dr.Nimalka Fernando will moderate this event.

    All four speeches must be cut down to 15-20 minutes and some time allowed for brief comments from the audience (max.about 2 minutes or so) with replies from any speaker.

    Opportune time. Ideal Topic for discussion. An opportunity for all those Arm Chair critics to participate without heaping blame on others. If everyone of us do our bit, there can be a Sri Lankan Spring before the end of ‘Bak’. Leave no room to repent later and cry over spilt milk. Good Luck Sri Lanka.

    2 Fire of Jaffana Libiary by UNP regime must be addres by violation of Civilization of Tamils, valubal collecation of Jaffna Libiary.
    3 Since 1988 to 1991 South of Killing of 900,00 to 100,000 YOUTH BY UNP REGIME UNDER LUMAPN PRESIDENT OF R.PERMADASA.( ALL YOUTHS ARE NOT JVP’S)Ranil wickramasinghe also responsibile Member of Cabniet UNP regime since 1988 to 1994.Killed of PDN Wijeweera or Rohana W. Or Attnayake can give accountabilty to DR Somawansa Amarsinghe life long leader of JVP.

    We cannot forget past HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY IS ALSO IMPORTANT,HOPE AND WISH RANIL WICKARMASINGE WILL TAKE AND RESPONSIBILTY OF SUCH CRIME AND APOLIGISET PEOPLE OF SRI LANKAN specially Tamils in our island.
