It will be interesting to know on what passport this Sinhala radical, with a Tamil name, visits Ole Blighty. The objective appears to be chartering the way for the coming into being of both Sinhala and Tamil left-oriented youth in the Debacle of Asia. Not a bad idea at all with the challenge of changing Debacle into Miracle staring in the eyeballs.

The man is a tamil. His real name is Premakumar Gunaratnam. His brother Ranjitham was killed by the SL military in the late 1980s while being a member of the JVP.
I think his party is slowly overtaking the JVP in popularity in Sri Lanka, at least among the young Sinhalese and tamils, which is a good thing. The JVP is a Sinhala racist party and has to compete with other Sinhala racist parties such as the JHU and even the SLFP under Rajapaksa and has lost a lot of support lately.

Recently he survived a Sri Lankan government sponsored abduction thanks to his Sinhalese wife’s [not care about color, ethnicity, religion etc. ] campaign in Australia to get him released. This talk of exploitation, division, etc. by the British are all political platform stunts shown to people of Sri Lanka by the cunning local leaders, including the now dying old leftists, to promote their image and take leadership. The British did not tolerate communalism and communal riots. Whenever it happened they contained it and enforced the law equally and fairly. They gave us a good system of government, established universities, they developed the tea industry and other foreign exchange earning avenues. Now where are we still arousing communal differences even after the thirty-year blood shedding, now there is differences created among the majority community itself for the sake of controlling political power. Are we better off than we were under the British. They British provided food to the people even during the war when the costs were high. They continued this facility even after the war. This was removed by the UNP Govt. in 1952. Take the railways; how many miles have we extended even after sixty years. Now we are in a mess; socially, politically, economically, etc. etc. The whole system is coming down. It is only divinity that could save us from the serious calamity we are facing.

as far as the history i know even sinhalese came as kallathonis in fact atleast kallathonis were not asylum seekers unlike the vijaya who was sent away from his kingdom.i request sinhalese not only to visit bodh gaya as they normally but also visit odisha which is very close to bihar state which houses bodh gaya.odisha is the state from where vijaya started his journey hence native vedda is correct in calling you people pot calling the kettle black.why i am writing this is because the discussion should be focussed on issue rather than hitting below the belt.

If the word ‘kallathonis’ is referred to those who came to Sri Lanka from India it would be to those who ‘migrated’ from India to Sri Lanka. Migration is a natural phenomenon, whether it is legal or illegal.
