Events: Women’s Day – Feminist Film Festival And Photography Exhibition

In celebration of International Women’s Day 2013, the Women and Media Collective has organized a feminist film festival to be screened on the following days.

21st March  The Dirty Picture (Hindi-Tamil-Telugu) with English subtitle (142 min)   Milan Luthria
22nd March Sarafina!  (English)(99 min) Darrell James Roodt


Screening Times: 3.00pm and 6.00pm

Venue: Namel Malani Punchi Theatre, 37, Dr. N.M. Perera Mawatha, Colombo 08                                  

The films will be screened twice during the above mentioned days, while entrance will be free of charge.

The award ceremony of the short film competition organized by the Women and Media Collective will also be held on the 20th march 2013 at2.30 p.m.at the same place. (Before screening film)

WMC Women’s Photography Exhibition 2013

As part of a series of events organized in celebration of International Women’s Day, Women and Media Collective (WMC) is organizing a photography exhibition featuring Sri Lankan women photographers. The exhibition will be held at the Lionel Wendt Gallery on the 16th and 17h of March 2013 from9am to6pm. Entrance is free.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held on the 15th of March 2013 from6pm onwards at the Lionel Wendt Gallery,Colombo 7.

Photos by 26 women photographers have been selected by an independent panel of judges.
