Two Rajapaksa loyalists, Willie Gamage and Ariyathilaka Dasanayake were arrested today by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID), in connection to a land deal involving former Minister Basil Rajapaksa.

Gamage functioned as the Chairman of the Strategic Enterprise Management Agency during President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s term. Both Gamage and Dasanayaka had held senior positions at the ‘Rajapaksa Education and Cultural Centre.’
They were ordered to appear before the FCID to give a statement on a property deal, and were subsequently arrested by the Division soon after recording the statement, today. They are expected to be produced before the Gampaha Magistrate.

There is another land deal by Basil that is under investigation. That land has been bought in the name of Thiru Nadesan, the husband of Ms.Nirupama Rajapakse, a nice of ex President Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse. This land is in Malwana in extent of 16 acres and a “palace” has been built there. At the present moment Mr. Nadesan is questioned over the matter and outcome is awaited. This Nadesan is the man who accompanied our Present Prime Minister, the then Leader of the Opposition to the Temple Trees in the early morning hours of January 9th 2015. Let us watch this case closely.

This brings the credibility of this website into serious doubt. If the website is already claiming to have completed so many projects and even shows pictures of these ongoing projects, the Prime Minister’s office may be guilty of duping donors into sending money into an account that does not do anything. However, the website very passionately calls for donors to ‘Help Hambantota NOW.’ The site invites donors to feel free to write immediately and gives the following details.
