FCID To Seek Interpol Assistance To Arrest Most Wanted Ex-Diplomat Udayanga Weeratunga

The FCID is seeking Interpol assistance to arrest Sri Lanka’s former ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga, over a complaint that he was involved in an alleged fraud during the purchase of MiG Aircrafts in 206 for the Air Force during former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s term.

The FCID has also requested the Fort Magistrate to issue an arrest warrant against Weeratunga, who is also the first cousin of Rajapaksa. Even though Weeratunga was issued notice to appear before court today, he had not been present.

Reports say he is residing in Ukrain. However during Rajapaksa’s visit to Thailand mid this year, Weeratunga flew to meet the former President.

Bravo bravo.. these are good news. First thing is to interview Mr Medamulana to get more about this man since we all read MR should have met with the accused person in Bankgkok and his controversial trips made to Uganda and swaziland lately.

Why the journos have no guts to question them and enlighten the general public is my question of the hour.
Why the journos bend their head still 180 degrees to the most abusive former is the other question – is that just becasue journalism being practised in the country is beyond professional levels or what are the real reasons ?
Lately I heard some journos that have no enough guts to raise the blunt questions adding ” why they harass only Rajakashes- just the very day Namal baby started his holiday in Remand prison”. Instead I wish the journo could strengthen question – why the former think the son was taken to the custody – what are the charges behind him being arrested etc ? annd those allegations levelled at them are beyond truths or the like… once the jounons with balls are born to this island only, a civlized folks could be there. Basta

Lol, FCID doesn’t even have an arrest yet. One and a half years of witch hunt and not even a charge. What a Joke.

Normally Interpol arrests become effective within hours of issuance – why is that the bugger is not yet caught ?

MR should finally feel – appointing wrong ones to wrong poistions could end up with all disasters… if he has brains he could see it.. not even Premadasa made the kind of appointments.

May be he has committed suicide ?

If he is said to be living in Ukraine – why is that that difficult to get him ? Srilanka has good relationship with Ukraine through diplo channels.

Very good, wish you all the success.

By the way can you get the assistance of the President Sirisena, and PM R. Wickramasingha and the IGP towards arresting the two child rapists in Haputale, in your own backyard?

      Why the Double Standards?

Yes if what reports said – and what pictures showed were right or the truth, why not you guys make no efforts to round up MEDAMULANA and get the facts from the Mafia king directly. Jorunos and authorities have you got no balls ?

This is the place where Sinhalaya baluwela thiyenne.

His Term found the end to Civil war should not further be intreepreted him to be the god even if his kith and kin raped, murdered or commited all various high crimes. That can no means the licence them to do so.

    18 months late.

I guess better late than never!!

Shows the speed at which yahapalanaya is working

Cannot blame Police since they are not trained for such activities.

FCID needs private sector experts in IT, banking, law, accounting , forensics etc but yahapalanaya will never do it since they don’t want to catch the thieves

No need the Interpol assistance to find him. Mahinda Rajapaksha knows where he is exactly.

Then stupid folks will kill themselves; commit suicide, so some sanga will chose self immolation etc since the pills swollen/injected by them keep them so intoxicated being effective for some more years- Gobbel theory has been abused by Rajakashe media men to keep the man on altar so long he can make profit of it.

MR media machines work even today diehard to keep up the levels since that is the only way out MR et al to be escaped from imprisonment.

We never thought a lanken leader would ever fall to the level he has been facing it today – jure prevaricating the questions being raised by few permitted silly journos, – he pays his usual smiles. How can a man see it so indifferent, when entire press and the world is watching at him and his family being investigated for all the allegations being increasingly levelled at him ? The accusations become mor ascending from the start of the current regime even if the some have been investigated for entire 18 months.

However I am now little silent hopeing one of the highly abusive upperhand of Mahinda and his verdict to be given in Septermber – that is for the murder of Hirunika s father- hope not the man would set free.

But tell the SILLY journos how they have to approach MAHINDA JARAPAKSHE…. on the west, be your former or current president, journos are given due permission to interview them for alarming issues, why the srilanka cant respect that is my great puzzle.

Just visiting their 2nd home place which is hte prisons of the country – journos just raise 2 or 3 questions but most of them are like ….. the episodes of the fair tales. These journos have no guts yet to go and round up the man..

If we know the information of all is stored in the man s head, why not any ruling authorities get them directly and swiftly from the man himself.

      – Mahinda Rajaaksheshoudl make statements on and on about Udaya W culprit
      – His brother in law Naki Manamalaya should add all the information missing SRILANKEN airline to fall that deep making every citizen of this country a life long debtors
      – Mahinda Rajakashes wife -former first lady should be approached to get all the information about how she ran illegal gold businesses as alleged by colombo wealthy business women

      – CSN and other related issues andhandley should be gotten from the ones that involved in them directly – these are just minor investagations if you have go tall the logs of e-mail and correspondnece.. why should they take over years

      – What came out from Seaschelles bank accounts…. whose have been found in those records ? Why Journos stay mum on that ? Sirasa goes to gamin gamnata to make them hype up, but they dont focus on the alaming issues of the day

        Sam Fernando
You know and I know that what sort Rowdies are the MR & Co!!

These journos are afraid to ask sensitive questions ! They’re either not trained to the level of western journalism. Questions are not audible or muffled when they ask those sensitive questions which can throw off balance of the interviewee.
The uneducated / educated Politicians or in Power in Srilanka knows ONLY the language of denial or abusive towards the journalists.

THIS PROVES HOW THE GUTTER PRESS AND GUTTER POLITICIANS OF SRILANKA FLOURISH TO BE THE ENVY OF THE WORLD(. Hah Hah Hah only joking).

We have to be proud to have produced TOOTHLESS JOURNALISTS WHO WILL COWER THEMSELVES IN FEAR BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO PROTECTION FROM THE law of the RULING PARTY.

        Remember Lasantha and the others!!
Do we need to say more??

THERE WE GO THE DEMOCRACY SUFFERS AS A RESULT!!

but why cant lanken journos fightfor their rights ? Whyis that ? if not today when ?
Sirasa and Derana are today almost like the same to me.
That gamin gamin must not be allowed since such program about the current regime could be done in the end of their term. Why did not Sirasa do it in the term of Maharaja days ? Now with all the hurdles the incumbent govt cant solve them within the short period just passed. This is a fact. With SRILANKEN airline s mistery, lanken economy will fall even deeper. This should be obvious to anyone or not ? Even on the west, they would not have achieved that much within the short period of time – also considering lanken specific problems left by MR et al.

This Udayanga Weeratunge is also implicated in the murder of his confidante who was his partner earlier.

Please add more about what you know about the connection with the murder – else current systems let him come out of remand so easily as we have been experiencing to this date. Nt a single MOREK has been convicted to long term punishments why ? Is that becasue not having proper evidence to prove their levels of abuses – say for example the man who once was reported to have paid to over 170 lacks of rupees as he was asked to do so, he was just a minister of previous regime – NONE other than Sajin Vaas. Why the authorities have no backbone yet to prove the gravity of the man s high profile frauds – yet ?
FCID or any other accronyme you may use to name the investigatory bodies, should have time limits and there performance should be seen as efficient, I really cant see the smidegeion of efficieny of the current kind of investigations – they have been either retarded by President USING his executive powers or a deal being set to do so calculating the political gains being advantagneous to both grand parties.

The right honorable former president (Athigaru Hitapu Janadhipathi) met with a wanted man when he is designated a wanted man. If interpol are being called in why not question the so called athigaru. Bellimisa is the tip of the iceberg. Every single relative of the athigaru were co-opted crooks of the athigaru. Somehow he keeps claiming he did not rob a cent. Lock up all the relatives begining with the sister in whose account the athigaru deposited tsunami funds.

The former President and now Member of Parliament for Kurunegala district Mahinda Rajapakse, has broken Sri Lankan law by meeting with a fugitive from justice not once but thrice in Uganda, Thailand and Japan.

The government should take a seriously look at these actions and like in most cases arrest and remand MR till the return of his cousin Udayanga to the country.

When a son, husband or father absconds the general tendency is to take the near of kin into protective custody till the return of the suspect. Why cannot the FCID do this?

If Mahinda Rajapakse was at the helm they would have done this. They did it with Danuka Tillekeratne, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka’s former son-in-law, when he was absconding by taking his mother and grandmother both into custody.

The government has a Prima Facie case in hand with MR meeting this fugitive openly on the International scene, so why not hold him in “Protective Custody” till Udayanga returns.

The people voted to bring back law and order to our country but it seems that the MY3/Ranil combination is also trying to take the people for a ride whilst appeasing the rogues and culprits and treating them with kids gloves.

Aiding and abetting a fugitive is against the law even if the offense is committed out of our shores and doing so in the full glare of the world makes the offender liable for prosecution, here.

What the government could do is appoint MP Sarath Fonseka as Minister of Law and Order and unleash him on the Rajapakses as he too has an axe to grind with them.

What Ranil promised at Temple Trees on the night of 8th January 2015, to MR that he will not exact revenge form the Rajapakses is today a dead duck and cannot hold water as what has transpired after that promise is even way beyond Ranil’s authority to keep that promise.

The law of the country is above everyone and if anyone has broken the law they must be brought to justice and punished.

Sarath Fonseka could be the best weapon that the government could use but also keep him on a tight rope and get the Law enforcement authorities to follw the law books to the letter.

The Attorney General by his contention to the Supreme Court that the Rs.6.3 Billion Member of Parliaments’s car permit issue is not a “National Issue” has proved beyond doubt that he is the wrong person to get the right job done in this perfect time to bring Sri Lanka back from the Pariah nation we were considered prior to 8th January 2015.

THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY IS LOOKING UP TO US TO GET OUR HOUSE IN ORDER BUT IF WE DO NOT TAKE THIS GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY WE WILL NEVER SEE A RESPECTABLE COUNTRY AGAIN.

It seems that everything is wrong in the Yahapalanaya government and if they do not see the Tsunami slowly churning up those who voted MY3 to power would foolishly bring back MR again to power and if that happens, GOD SAVE US AND OUR COUNTRY.

Actually, if GOVT is clever and wholehearted with the arrest or need of arrest the kind of men scattered outside world – they should have sent few journalists to collect information where the MR medamulana is roaming – SINCE we perfectly know MR medmaulana is the root cause and the keystorage for all the hidden information – even if he prevaricate in public appearences – the days, that govt go on slow motion should be stopped let alone today. People that elelcted the current regime DO expect them to take bold actions against REAL high level criminals and get the sums back to the country by confiscating all the assets illegally collected.

Cant the US govt support the current regime to find out the assets of Basil et al in the US ? This can be done within a month …..
why the moves are not yet initiated is the BIGGERST question .

Udayanga Weeratunga should have been the first culprit behind bars. Our Leaders are still playing hide and seek and the citizens have reason to suspect they are still hand in glove with some criminals of the past era and their honesty to the People and to themselves is suspect. If a section of the Judiciary and A.G’s Dept.are having a soft corner for these National and International criminals surely the Justice Minister could intervene but sadly we hear no hum from him too and his silence is conspicuous.People do not expect personal agendas of elected representatives to over rule their collective aspirations, that era is no more and people are wiser now.I wonder if these genuine sentiments of people are bothering them at all or do they think they can hoodwink the voters again with their rhetoric.I suggest politicians should follow the example of the honest Govt Officers who are prepared to sacrifice their high positions for the sake of truth and justice in serving Mother lanka.
