Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said the government has to pay US $ 9.3 billion for loans obtained by the previous government. However, the present government obtained only US $ 1,150 million.

Addressing the UNP May Day rally held on May 1 in Colombo, he said the former President lied about the loans obtained by the government. All investigations into murders, corruption and malpractices of the previous regime should be completed before the next year’s May Day celebration. Names and details of the persons who stand in the current regime and protect the Rajapaksas will be revealed.

The Minister said others were shown on state television channels after showing the entire Rajapaksa family during the previous regime. Now the media has been given freedom.

But the media try to bring back the previous regime. It was innocent poor people who brought in good governance, so their hopes should be fulfilled.

A national government can be formed even after 2020. The Constitution will be changed and the Government will face a referendum without any fear. Strikes should not be launched and problems should be resolved through discussions, he said.

The Health Minister underwent a course of treatment in a Singapore hospital for his heart ailment not long ago and the expenses for that was met by the President’s Fund which comes from the tax paid by the ordinary SL taxpayer.
The course of treatment ran into many millions of US$.No one in the country knows the exact figure.
Will Dr. Rajitha Senaratne the Health Minister of the country who did not have the confidence in the expertise of the local medical specialists and the hospitals now contribute at least in a small token amount out of his pocket to settle the $1.150 million US loan he says was by the government in which he holds an important cabinet post?
What on earth does he know about the significance of May Day?
      Whom is he fooling?

do you remember during the previous regime even for the slightest fever members of the regime ran to overseas hospitals to get treatment. Kudu Doomi spent more than a Billion rupees at Mount Elizabeth Hospital for 18 months hospital treatment.

Guess who spent for Doomi”s traetmnet!!

This particular lady was a good actress but no means a good politcian.

Once I happened to watch a video in which the MP was visiting her area being joined to a big gathering. Those people gathered there raised an issue on not having proper water or something other grievances they have. There, the female politician, louded the gathered people ” I will also drin the same water as you do”. Then one villager questioned, ” Do you really drink the same water, dont you lie Mrs Kumarasinghe, why you lie that way, we are no fools Mrs… etc ” Then the angry lady attacked, them saying ” if I would drink bottle water, that is not your problem, just because there I spend my own money ” bla bla… that is how she answers the questions.
She sounds as if she has not even complete school education.
The kind of actors and actresse were supported by previous idiotic regime, not considering any kind of qualifications.
In political discussions, the woman behaved herself as if she has not had any kind of knoweldge on the raised questions. That was her background. So is Malinin Fonseka too. No matter, nothing was in their heads, Mahinda Jarapakshe for his popularity, SLFP politics were betrayed.
Today, he prevaricates when questioning as to why he did so.
According to MR, anyone can join his party no matter, even high profile murders were carried out by anyone.

These men should be hung by their balls to teach the nation a lession.
So that nobody would follow MR s path anymore.

I don’t know what to tell. There are 94 monkeys, not knowing even to mimic or without even 8th grade, in the parliament. What can we do with them?

Only person fired from SLFP was GLP. Because everybody knows that there won’t be any seat for GLP in UNP. Ranil taught a lesson to Athanake. Can they fire Younger Old Brother Prince? Practically he is the one running the SLPP.

These men should be hung by their balls to teach the nation a lession. I don’t know if they would die if not hung by the neck.

Only better solution is UN Electric Chair.

Not just becuase of the so callled war crimes that one would not be able to prove since Ltte men are no longer existing. I mean ones that really have to be charged for all the high crimes inclu mass murder in war periods.

If MR and the like men to be hung, then Tamil leaders who remained should also be beheaded one behind the other. In a war both parties should be charged.

We the peace loving sourtherners that not taking any sides, being impartial want MR to be charged for all the high crimes, that came into being alone in the aftermath of the war.
There the price he has to pay is large.

These men would sink in hell – even if authorities let them ROAM as had been before.
In a country 90% of the population isabused by sorcery and astrology, the average people would believe anyt blatant lies sowed by Derana or the like TV channels.

Now, get into the Tourism business, and get more Swiss Tourists to Sri Lanka.

I am not sure, I think Geetha had been running a Brothel in Switzerland before she joined to lanken politics on Rajathuma s request.

Now we understand very clearly, that Rajathuma never respected countries migration laws.

        Nor has Geetha respected them:

It seems to be not a mere dual nationality, the tribal actress has a disability. It is not merely the result of stupid sloth but married to sky-high self-confidence.

I have been trying to collect the evidences going back to my past. She TODAY behaves as if she should be the current day beauty queen, but this particular woman had no whatsoever shame in 80ties if my memory is right. Nor has she delivered anything supporting poor locals people.

I know by myself, there are various kind of fraudsters dealing with lanken tourism promoting folks. Most of them are from Negambo, Hikkaduwa or some from colombo suburbs. In Basel alone, there is a gay massage clinic run by one Perera, a former srilanken now married to a gay man in that part of Switzerland. We the srilankens proud of our 2500 culture, but srilanka is branded to them as a gay paradise. Sadly this is the truth.

Those swiss nationals got married to lankens in general are coming from either very rural backgrounds or older men that have not found marriage partners in Europe. Goddayas but they are wealthy so as some japanese farming folks.

If a dual citizen of Sri Lanka can not enter the damn parliament, how can one justifies the appointment of Arjuna Mahendran, a foreigner, to the most important position, the Governor of the Central Bank to carry out a major robbery.

      • 12
        0

To my little knowledge the law is clear on who can be an MP. It does not mention dual citizen. So it is left to the learned Supreme Court judges interpretation. As for the Central Bank there no rule which says a citizen has to be the governor, as the first governor in post independent Ceylon was an American.

Mr Cooray. I totally agree with you on Rajapaksa horrific excesses but regarding good governance. You should be little bit more honest and forthcoming about how so called good governance under Mr. Clean & common man’s reluctant Leader MS. lost its honesty & the common touch from the first month of the Good Governance with ex RB. Bond bean counter Mahendran fiasco and the country loosing mega bucks add to the insult effervescent the shadow figure Anthony Aloysius now in the gun for getting the approval from the Good Governance to be the liquor King maker in the fair Buddhist land of Sri Lanka that observe Poya day prohibiting sale of the favoured drink of many Sri Lankans in all religions.
People of Sri Lanka elected a new government expecting good governance but what they got was same old politically and morally corrupt bunch of crooks that are going at rate of warp speed to make as much loot as allow every second of the day. First one off the starting block even before the gun went off is RW’s, mate Mahendran and his S-I-L, Perpetually prepared Mr. A+++. Aloysius.
Lastly do you really believe is this the Good Governance poor people deserve till year 2000. I beg to differ.

Thanks for translating into English the speech given by Dr Rajitha Sanaratne. It seems that most of the commentators in these forums either cannot understand Sinhalese or willfully ignore one side of the argument so as to sling mud. Another little episode ignored by CT and its commentators is the deaths of two elderly individuals got down to Galle Face for the MR rally due to heat exhaustion. They were it is claimed needless deaths caused by the negligence of the organizers of this rally in failing to rush them to hospital or to provide them with assistance beforehand. The crowds were never more at Galle Face and less at the other
venues which were smaller locations and not open to aerial pictures another fact ignored.

Any Rascal in Sri Lanka whether he or she is a drug or Ethanol dealer or a murder accused can become a member of parliament or a minister irrespective of his/her level of education as long as he/she is just a Sri Lankan citizen only. This constitutional change was done by petty minded duo, Sirisena-Wickramasinghe, to stop Gotabhaya Rajapaksa entering the parliament. They should have let the people decide whether they need Gotabhaya or not. Discriminating the dual citizens because of this individual is a violation of human rights of the other dual citizens .

” This constitutional change was done by petty minded duo, Sirisena-Wickramasinghe, to stop Gotabhaya Rajapaksa entering the parliament.”

As a general rule do you want all war criminals to have equal opportunity of contesting Elections irrespective of their divided nationality?

How would these people serve the country of birth when it goes to war with country of residence?

In terms of loyalty, half of them fight for the country of origin and the other half fight for the country of residence.

There could be conflict of interest, loyalty, patriotism, …… war glory, ….

Sri Lankans with dual citizenship love their country. They can be of excellent service to Sri Lanka. Infact, they are an incredible resource, SL can ill-afford to lose.

Issue is about what to do with criminals, killets, torturers, thieves with DC. Gota, Geetha, Arjun etc. have proved themselves to be in that category.

“According to the newly introduced 19th amendment to the Constitution, a Sri Lankan Citizen holding citizenship status in another country cannot hold a seat in the legislature.”

This is a foolish policy. If the foreign power wants to do something through local politician they can easily buy a local politician by giving lots of money through a NGO. There is no need to find one of their citizens who has a seat in the legislature. I believe that bribing a dual citizenship is harder than local politicians. Therefore, I conclude that this policy will isolate the hardworking, honest and smart Sri Lankans; but a good policy for uneducated and dishonest politicians.

“If the foreign power wants to do something through local politician they can easily buy a local politician by giving lots of money through a NGO.”

Tell them about it Anthony. You know the rest of the story. Readers don’t know.
No one verdict in any murders case in the past two years are good. All are Sinhala Jury cases!
We don’t need Geetha to argue for her. But these petty dogs are eyeing on her wealth. She may not be smart enough to protect it outside completely like CBK before she plough through this. That may be the case.

They want another Pakistani-Indian Citizenship; another MMDA Act. That is what this Dual Citizen 19A…. They keep digging into the Citizenships just only because they all paras. None of them are from this Island.
After Britain left, there is not good Business-Commerce law, No Human right law….. Education is handled with Standardization; employment created with Sinhala Only, Human rights maintained with PTA. Tamils rights are sorted out with 6A, the most draconian law in the world wide.
Listen Anthony, Britain is not going to come back even if we pay for it takes care of us. But China will. Can you ask China to put in 225 Chinese politicians also within the 1 Million Visas they ask for? Not Just for South, Even to the North-East. Then those Chinese will allow you to speak in TNA meetings because Sampanthan-Sumanthiran might have been replaced.

I understand that a person wishing to renounce his or her U.S citizenship must voluntarily and with intent to relinquish U.S citizenship :
    A) appear in person before a U.S consular or diplomatic officer,
    B) in a foreign country at a U.S Embassy or Consulate; and
    C) sign an oath of renunciation.

My questions to fellow CT readers are :
    1. Is insider SP Pivithru Dr.DJ offering any odds with regards to which option Dr.GoRa will choose A, B, or C ?

    2. If GoRa choses C, is he allowed to do the oath in front of Ven Gnanasara & endorsed by the MaRa’s Kelaniya Prelate?.

Thero wouldn’t know what Old Brother Prince is going to do. He only has laundry list of what Brother Prince has to do. Pls Check up with Ranil.

Ranil is going to be the First Citizen of the newly created country Colombo Pong Cing. He might have figured a way to be Executive Prime Minister while shuttling between Colombo and Colombo Pong Cing. The citizenship rule there is:

      1).Chinese – automatic
      2).Lankaweyans – $4,500

I was born in England and was automatically a British citiZen. In 1974 however I came to Sri Lanka with the intention of settling down and making my life here. However, I needed to work and a job came my way in the regional office of an international organisation. It was for local staff only, for a Sri Lankan citizen. At that time SL did not permit dual nationality but I needed that job. So I applied for SL citizenship and surrendered my British citizenship.

To this date I am only a Sri Lankan citizenship.

No, I have never regretted it. But every time I get a new passport I have to pay quite a lot to get a Right of Abode certificate put in it. This means I don’t need a visa to enter Britain. But I rarely go anyway. Hate flying. Miss some things about Britain, like the long summer days, the museums and art galleries, the theatre; the National Health when it was in its heyday unlike now.

I am told the UK libraries are the envy of the world. Here in Lanka we burn them down. That is the sort of priorities we have in this island.

By the way I am a keen collector of well researched historical articles/papers/books on South India and Sri Lanka. Is it possible for you to let me have a comprehensive list of Prof. Senake Bandaranayake’s publications?

“”Don’t you think it’s good fun to live among Sri Lankans who time to time make very stupid decision, I mean on election days?””

The common factor is bad logic and confidence- it stops there so it makes them unreasonable and takes Lankans into the state of the beast.
        But differs;
Anglo Saxons way of slowly bungling, if necessary but in any case slowly finding their way, Anglo Saxons love of individual liberty,self-respect, good sense and love of order are the things which are more powerful in shaping the course of events in England and America.

This woman is a CHEAT…..let her Appeal as much as she wants. She lied to the Election Commissioner n even the courts…This scoundrel has gone to parliament today after the court verdict…this itself is contempt of court…throw her in jail…she’s just a celluloid heroine.

No Grey matter Upstairs…(brain),,,,make her return the monies she took as salaries as an MP…the monies she took as expenses…let her have the vehicle BUT make her pay the custom duty on the vehicle just as an ordinary citizen….revoke her permits for other vehicles….bloody scoundrel…

Throw her in jail for lying to authorities and for contempt of court…

As for Sarath Amunugama who says he will defend his partner…let him SIT and take a spin….

Always a case of U scratch my Dyck..I scratch ur back…

Bloody leeches sucking the blood of innocent masses…

This woman Geetha started off in the slums. She enticed the Swizz fellow and got married. Later got someone else to jump and the marriage ended. She was once invited to Australia with one of the films she acted in (Ran diya Dahara) and you know what she told the inviting organizers? ” I need a Five Star for residence while in Australia . I cannot stay in slums.”

From an international point of view she is damn right and you are not aware of English greats coming off council homes which are slums.
