CT is accessible from Lanka without the use of a proxy. Just make sure that your DNS is NOT that of SLT or any other DNS that is presently controlled by govt.
Google’s Public DNS is 8.8.8.8 (which I use)
I write from SL most of the time (unless I am traveling). Have been doing it for years without the use of any proxy. I have not had any issues with reading CT or posting . I am posting this as described above.
Just make sure that you dont have any Lankan Domain Name Server address in your computer even as a secondary DNS.
There are some sites that remain blocked such as Tamilnet that require the use of a proxy, but there are many free proxy sites available on the Internet. Nobody can block all of them as the IP’s keep changing regularly.

A lot of the infrastructure that was buil bty Rajapaksa is very shoddy , but to be fair that is typical Sri Lankan workmanship.
Look at the crooked and unaligned tiles along soo much of the new pavements along Galle Road. Rajapaksa and their cronies skim off public funds and pay labourers a meager salary so what does one expect. This is typical South Asian practice, to treat blue collar like crap and not give a dam about doing an honest and good job for the client.
Public funds squandered for subpar workmanship. These big construction projects were a convenient means to steal public funds. It is not exclusive to Rajapaksa but they pushed it up a notch.

Eusense,it becomes more difficult for them to achieve their goals of separation.With MR it was short term pain and long term gain for them,but with maithri/chandrika/ranil who have a better relationship with the international community, it will be the opposite.
For tamils who wish to live in one country,but with dignity and self respect the change is good because little by little their friction with the sinhalese will cease and they will be able to manage their own affairs.This will create problems for the separatists because the root causes of the ethnic issue will gradually disappear making it increasingly difficult to justify to the international community that tamils need a country of their own to live in dignity.

When I woke up this morning I wondered what the kindred spirits who prowl CT and like sites will do going forward. Now I know.
It seems we have quite a few who cannot fathom how the Rajapakses lost. It is called democracy and in THIS instance, it worked because of a clever (seeming stupid) Elections Commissioner and a determined IGP. And, a determined public too. Yes 47% still voted for Rajapakse and I am sure they have their reasons for having done that. That is their right and it must be fully respected.
Going forward, those of us who wanted a change must ensure those changes come fast and are set on solid ground. Not cosmetic shit that politicians are inclined to do often.
I want:
A judiciary free of cronies and anyone even with a whiff of corruption. That includes Shirani Bandaranayake and her husband. If you talk corruption, understand what the word means first!
Intelligent, educated and experienced technocrats to run all the ministries and corporations. Reveal the deals, punish the perpetrators and seize the ill-gotten earnings.
Set up a separate commission to investigate the illegal transactions within the last 10 years. Give the culprits a choice to come clean, make good or have their assets seized. After all they bribed to get advantages. Justice must not only happen, it must appear to happen.
Set up procedures where things can get done not bogged down. Open up the economy so I can import what I want and sell it when I want and charge me a reasonable duty/tax as the govt’s share. Let not the Customs officer pocket the duty as a bribe and I do not want to spend my time kissing arse trying to get it cleared.
We all love Singapore and Dubai. Let us take the good things from those places and avoid the bad things.
Prostitution, liquor, drugs…. who cares. If you want it, go for it. It you like it, pay for it. My Dharmishta should not be your Adharmishta!
Let us learn to respect another’s choice, and then we will understand our choices too. We are not always right.
