Gota Says Thanks To Illegal Protesters

“I’m a bureaucrat who served for the country, if they are treating me like this, no civil servant will work for this country, this is a political witch-hunt” former Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa said today addressing the protestors outside the Bribery and Corruption Commission against the summoning of Rajapaksa. Gotabaya, who portrays himself as a law abiding citizen, thanked the protesters for coming. The protest was carried out despite an order issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday banning the protest.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa‘s younger brother, Gotabaya arrived at the Bribery Commission this morning after he was summoned to record a statement over various allegations, including alleged irregularities at Mihin Lanka when he was the Chairman and Avant Garde and Rakna Lanka. According to reports his lawyers requested more time as the matter he was questioned was different from the one which was informed to him.

Former President’s another brother, former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa who was accused of committing fraud under the ‘Divi neguma’ fund was remanded till May 5th by the Kaduwela magistrate last night.

Gothabaya states Sri Lanka is a police state-let me remind him and his stooges when it was a Police State:
1.When S.F. was dragged away to Prison.
2.When C.J. was hauled before Parliament and not given adequate time to answer charges.
    3. When journalists were atacked and killed
    4. When white vans picked up those who were not with the regime
5.When media was not permited into courts when he was being cross examined in Mount Lavania courts.
6.When he used obscenity on Fredricka Jansz and lashed out at journalists who questioned him re Lasanthas murder.
7.When thugs used physical force on lady lawyers who opposed C.Js impeachment and riff raff ate kiribath and danced outside C.Js residence.

These are just a few instances the list goes on. Gotta should know that “the Arch of history bends towards justice”

Hey YUS – You must thank GR for cutting down SF to the correct size – because if SF became EX Prez of this country it would have been a disaster — YUS how old are you – still sucking fingers ?? People of this country still remember how white van brutally kills thousands of youths and dump them way side and burn them in public when Ranil was also in the Gov. – Now you tell me whether Ranil has any right to talk about YAHAPALANAYA – You will see real colors of Ranil in the coming years if he manage to win the election – regarding the attacks on journalists – hope you remember how Richad Zoysa was killed – regarding the treatment of Judiciary – hope you remember how JR treated CJ Nevil Fernando — Do not point fingers at any body – all are living in glass houses — The guys who are now preaching about YAHAPALANAYA starts with an undemocratic move by calling RW to form a government when he do not enjoy the majority of the Parliament – If MS is really for democracy then he could have dissolve the Parliament immediately and called for fresh election for a brand new Parliament – The latest incident that uncovered the nakedness of Ranil is re-instatement of CB Governor – these guys had been in power only for 100 days – you will see better of them later — wait and see

If GR had done wrong – prove the case in the court and punish them – until then you cannot charge sheet them as you not the guy to do so – And also remember SF and all the other commanders in the armed forces were in the army for years but could not annihilate LTTE menace in this country for decades – Why ?? they were not given proper political backing to do that – they were not given proper arms to do that – So the role played by GR is not small and due credit should go to him – and we must resist insulting him because you are walking freely today in this country because of him – I hope all the Kuhakayas that insult him like a pick pocket in this blog, should ask themselves – what the heck I have done for the betterment of this country other than enjoying “Wattiamma’s Gossip”

All these Raja people revenged on SF, boomerang them today. That is all I feel having seeing all these. If people still rememenber it, these Rajapakshes behaved as if lanken people and their funds were Rajapakshe own assets. But telling the stupid folks all blatant lies beyond alles morals and ethics. Alone the manner Mahinda Rajapakshe as the president of nation paid a visit to Lansa by using helicopters at the time alleged drug traffiker was raided by police… was an incident that nobody with a brain the size of a needle head would agree.

The Police should film closely the protestors as done before during Gota’s time and identify everyone who participate. It is important to know who the enemy is and when to deal with them. The organizers too should be identified.

Just to clarify, only in “Yahapalana Samaya” such recording and identification should be sanctioned. Any other time such behavior is a signs of brutal dictatorship.

Hey I have a question for Gamini and all the idiots who “like” his comment – What you are suggesting in your comment is exactly an act of a Police State – what is this double talk – These hate mongers should go to a mental hospital first and chk their brains first – If you hate GR so much – make a cutout of Gota at your home and hammer it until your mad anger diminishes – then come and comment – you will be able to judge better

How will Mahavamsa record the exploits of Gota? Especially, when the victims of the White-Van were thrown to the Sharks!

Perhaps,he will be referred to as a great Animal lover. He was not second to his Brother Mahinda when it came to Dansalas.

What a fall for this previously powerful VVIP. The man has descended to the level of a street thug having to depend on a bunch of hooligans for support.

Come to think of it he was always a street thug and more – an assassin. Hope he is caged with his supporters.

gota is the main culprit who tried to make Sri Lanka a police state. during their days people did not protest due to fear. There are only few corrupt politicians who want to bring MR to power because if the present govt will be a threat to their existence. Gota and basil should be chased away from Sri Lanka.

GR forgets his finding his way to that dream of his – the Chair of the Secy/Defence Ministry was improper, illegal and ethical. On what basis
does this ill-educated and dictatorial man say “if they treat me like this, no civil servant will work for this country..” How soon people forget even the recent past.

If his appointment was taken to Courts – even the Kangaroo Courts of the Mohan Peiris type the time when his Brother was President – the Case would not stand a chance.

Is Bodhi Sira the new Ehalepola of the 21 Century?.

His 100 Day Report Card was presented to US, UK and German Ambassadors first before the inhabitants.

If this brave man Gota and his brother bowed down to those three Western Nations, Tamil Terrorist Prabakaran would have been the Premier of the North East, reporting to the One Million Diaspora and the West.

Now the Diaspora dollars are working well with the vengeful and jealous ex President , Madam Chandrika to punish Gota and his brothers.

And the pathetic Sinhala President who parades himself as the holier than thou Sinhala Buddhist, is going full bore to fulfil the wishes of the Diaspora, , , Vellalas and the Muslims through the unelected PM Ranil and the Cousin.

    What a disgrace.

5.8 Million Sinhala people understand the services the Rajapaksa rendered to the Nation to liberate the country from Terrorists who were financed and nurtured by the West.

Even these brave people end up in jail, they will be remembered by the great majority of the inhabitant population as the 21 Century heroes who save the country from Terrorists and held it together as one nation. which has servived 2600 years.

When the unelected PM and his stooges dismantle the country and form Tamil and Muslim Homelands,Reverend Rathne and Mr Champika will have to answer to the Southern masses.

    Hello G.R
You says that you are “I’m a bureaucrat who served for the country”. Is that why you ran away from the army and settled down in US.

Bureaucrat? My foot. What were his qualifications to be a so-called civil servant. Can any one submit his Olevel results. This man was appointed because he was MARA’s brother. He engaged in dirty politics, thuggery and intimidation while he was defence secretary. A gas station attendeant in US he forced the army to close roads while he was travelling. Bloody idiot. Who does he think he is? Try and hang him for the sake of the country.

From all the comments I have read, it appears that GR was the Public Thug and the Chief Approver of thuggery, intimidation and murder of all those against him, his siblings and their families or the government rather than a humble
    public servant he claims.

The present administration must keep them under house arrest and conduct their inquiries in a transparent manner so that the peopls in general and the voter in particular will know the truth and distance themselves from supporting them.

The time has now come to name and shame without further delay of the former mighties and the powerfuls.

Let the learned, law abiding citizens and the law judge them on their “merits”

I feel the government would have to invest in a new larger prison to imprison all the wrong doers of the previous and past regimes which would include many
“BIG” and prominent names including CBK.

Protesters and supporters of the once mighty and powerful are not large in numbers and the armed forces in coordination with the police can be deployed to drive them away from being a nuisance to the law abiding citizen and the day to day activities of everyone.

Deploying the armed forces will also reduce the burden on the police who can attend to normal civil and public duties without without complaining on shortage of manpower.

After reading the comments on this blog I was wondering how many Attorney Generals we have in this country – many of the guys are kuhaka goda perekadoruwas – acting on behalf of AG and charge sheeting GR – please let the law of this country punish the culprits after proving the case against them in the courts – until then these kuhakay’s should stop their “wattiamma gossip” we are fed up of listening to these jokers – who apparently do not understand their own comments –

    Gota the Brutal-Rat

Now you call yourself a bureaucrat. The term has a negative connotation nowadays, totally different from its original meaning. But we can’t blame you for not knowing it since you had to switch to that position abruptly from pumping gas in the States because your brother became the President. But your behaviour in that position was anything but bureaucratic – even in your sense. You strayed into “criminal justice.” You were behind many extra-judicial killings and abductions, becoming the Godfather of the white van terror unleashed on civilians for standing up for their rights. You also overstepped into politics, setting up the BBS to terrorize the minorities. You thought this would consolidate Mahinda’s vote base among the majority Sinhala Buddhists and ensure his re-election. But your cockamaney plan backfired bigtime reducing you to the laughing stock of the world. But the real irony in your “bureaucrat” defence is that you are invoking the “checks and balances” and “division of powers” – the very cardinal principles of democracy that Mahinda, you and the rest of your criminal family destroyed.

style executions for anyone oppressive of you, your siblings and the government.

CEYLON WAS A BLESSED COUNTRY IN 1948
BLESSED WITH RESOURCES OF WATER, AGRICULTURE AND EXPORTS OF TEA, RUBBER. COCONUT ETC. WE HAD A CREDIT BALANCE ON 4TH. FEBRUARY 1948.

I WATCHED THE INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT THE GALLE FACE GREEN WITH A LOT OF HOPE FOR THIS SEVEN MILLION POPULATION.
THE BRITISH GAVE THE CEYLONESE, HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS ROADS AND THE RAILWAY ETC. ETC.
FROM THE TIME DON STEPHEN SENANAYAKE TOOK OVER AS PREMIER, RIFTS STARTED APPEARING. WITHIN 8 YEARS THIS COUNTRY CHANGED RADICALLY.

I WATCHED WHEN SWRD TOOK OVER IN 1956.
THE DISASTER BEGAN AT GALLE FACE GREEN, WHERE BANDA TOLD THE POLICE TO PUT THEIR BATONS AWAY AND LET THE PEOPLE ENJOY REAL FREEDOM.
I SAW THIS FREEDOM WHEN THE IGNORANT SINHALA MAN ATTACKED THE VEHICLES WHICH CARRIED WHITE MEN WHO AT THAT TIME WAS WORKING IN COLOMBO.

THEN CAME THE NATIONALISATION, AND ALL SORTS OF CHARACTERS ENTERED PARLIAMENT.
TAKING OVER THE SCHOOLS, DRIVING THE NUNS AWAY FROM HOSPITALS, THE SINHALA ONLY, ALL THIS REDUCED THE IMAGE AND CHARACTER OF THIS COUTRY.

NO GOVERNMENT AFTER THAT WERE ABLE TO REVERSE THE DAMAGE DONE.
EVEN TODAY ONLY COSMETIC CHANGES ARE MADE AND THAT WILL NEVER BRING BACK THE PRESTIGE AND GLORY OF THIS COUNTRY.
THE JR PREMADASA GROUP KILLED THE U N P DOZENS OF PARTIES FILLED THE GAP.
EVEN TODAY THE SINHALA MAN HIS ATTITUDE UNPROFESSSIONAL CONDUCT HAS GIVEN BIRTH TO 60 REGISTERED POLITICAL PARTIES, AT LEAST 50 ARE SINHALA PARTIES.

WITH THIS MINDSET THIS COUNTRY WILL NEVER RISE FROM THE ASHES.
    SO BE IT

TAKING OVER THE SCHOOLS, DRIVING THE NUNS AWAY FROM HOSPITALS,

Walter, do you know why? Briefly, schools – the majority were run by Christian churches in a Buddhist country. Note that Buddhist schools were taken over as well. Nuns – they used to baptise dying Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim patients against their will. The nuns were following the church’s orders.

Just wondering who printed those Gota posters. Has he been going to a local printshop himself, then handed them out, or ordered his paid protesting thugs to print themselves?

What I don’t understand is, why can’t these Raja’s just shut up and enjoy running their hotel chains … such as have been constructed all over Sri Lanka?

Since when did protesting in Sri Lanka become “illegal”? Only after the ‘jarapalanaya’ began its 100-day farce, eh?
