The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka issued a strong rebuttal to a keynote speech by Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa saying his remarks had been viewed as an endorsement by extremist elements in their stand against the Muslim community. The Muslim Council expressed the deep disappointment and concern of the Muslim community regarding the address in an open letter to the Defence Secretary. The Bodu Bala Sena issued a media release on Tuesday soon after the keynote address by the Defence Secretary, claiming he had made courageous remarks about Muslim extremism and acknowledging it as a major victory in their ideological struggle.

We, the Muslim Council of Sri Lanka (MCSL) wish to bring to your kind attention the Muslim community’s deep disappointment and concern at media reports of your speech at the Defense seminar on September 3rd 2013. As you are well aware, the Muslim community has without any hesitation stood by the Sri Lankan State throughout the 30 year conflict and has never resorted to any form of armed resistance.
The extremist elements that have been propagating hatred against the minority communities have taken your statement as an endorsement of the State’s approval of their stand on extremism amongst the Muslim community.
We wish to bring to your kind attention that there exists no form of armed or other forms of extremism amongst the Muslim community. Your concerns about extremists using Sri Lanka as a transit point may be valid, but we would like to assure you that the Muslim community would never allow extremists from other countries to operate under cover of the Muslim community in Sri Lanka.
The intelligence units under your command have performed remarkably well during and after the war to ensure that Sri Lanka continues to maintain the hard earned peace. We welcome any investigation by the law enforcement agencies and take appropriate action against any persons who may violate the laws of the land or support any form of armed extremism irrespective of their religious beliefs.
We would like to assure you of the Muslim community’s unstinted commitment to the peace and prosperity of our beloved motherland and would greatly appreciate your kind clarification of your statement.

The remarks made by Muslim Council highlight some important facts. It co-operated with intelligence services headed by Gotapaya for the crimes committed by Sinhala forces against innocent Tamils, journalists and journalism and unlawful activities against those who raised questions about corruption.

Dear Muslim,
I will fight for your right to “talk about your religion; care about your religion” and “invite – or even convince- other religionists to become Muslim.” Your religion, at least on paper,
is guaranteed freedom from what goes as our constitution. What is objected is your subtle – and often, conspiratorial – effort with Wahabi and other foreign funds to Islamise the weaker sections of our society (Indian Estate workers, those from depressed castes etc) offering money and other inducements. Your abnormal increase of population is something we will object to. People voluntarily becoming Muslims is perfectly in order but we do not like the traffic being one way in that one hardly hears of any non-Muslim becoming part of another religion by marriage. That is only because of the mafia-kind of intimidation that we see in the Muslim side. We also strongly object to your becoming part of
getting arms, arms training for action in the Eastern Province that can endanger the peace and security of this country. There is much talk of Rishard Bathurdeen accused of concealing these weapons in various parts in Mannar and elsewhere in Muslim-owned paroperties. Also, please don’t take the Sinhalese and others as fools here. They are waking up to your sinister calculations for the future.

Rajapakse bros bought A.H in Sri Lanka and re named it.Most Indian drs have left,indian nurses left.Standard is down but charges went even higher.

What non sense is gota talking about .Everybody are strongly convinced though secretly he is the only powerful guy capable of transiting and feeding from sri lanka any foreign militant elements to hit at india and at the same time trying to pass the waste to the frightened sri lanka muslims and other minorities thinking he is hitting at several targets in one shot .Definitely he or rather anybody who does this would end up facing very disastrous consequences.

Gota is an idiot and working under external payrole. He is with a project of bring crisis in sri lanka again. May be man is missing all the money pocketed during the war time. I think billions of rupees pocketing while road developments projects and other painting activities are not sufficient for Rajapacksha Inc. perhaps it is not profitable as war time gains. If CID is active better check his financial account here and overseas with the help of Interpol that will reveal everything to the public.
