Group Of UPFA MPs Join Maithripala Sirisena

Group of SLFP MPs join the new President Maithripala Sirisena. The 20 member group including Sarath Amunugama, Piyasena Gamage, Reginold Coorey, Athauda Seneviratne and Chief Minister of North Western Province Dayasiri Jayasekera says Maithripala is the SLFP chairman. Karuna Amman also pledged his support to Maithripala. Duminda Dissanayke was appointed as the SLFP general secretary at a central committee meeting at Sirisena’s home.

Meanwhile after a SLFP-Mahinda wing central committee meeting with Rajapaksa, the SLFP Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa says 42 members of the SLFP Central Committee reaffirmed Mahinda Rajapaksa as SLFP president.

These gentlemen are all very decent human beings and naturally they have decided to join the group where they belong to. Congratulations to them and their followers.

Maitipala Sirisena must NOT have more than 25 cabinet members and should NOT enlarge his cabinet.

These corrupt clown MPs – Ahtuada, Amunugama etc. now want to jump ship and get cabinet posts. They should be told to stay where they are and support the 100 day program to restore democracy and good governance in Lanka..

he is all the last among that joined UPFA lately. Not even respect to what he is today – all because of UNP but in the end he thought only about his pocket. That was not nice. Ranajan, Harin and several others remained loyal to own party. They are teh raw diamonds of UNP.

Dayasiri s cesspit has no limits. This man has no shame.
I would rather like him being away from any good movement towards YAHAPALANYA: Above all whether his jump from UNP to UPFA earlier should be made clear to the nation – whether he was offered 250lacks of tax payers funds ?

Perhaps – in today s critical situation in the lanken politics, we the CT readers/commentators should be careful passing wrong critics – because reconcilition in the parliament is the prerequisite for the 100 day program. Without that being made, nothing can be achieved.
Those who ran criminal agendas should be brought before courts but in a very silent manner while giving priority to stay steady with still majoritarian opposition. Most of them in Oppposition today are abusers in all forms, except Reginold corray and the few handful of ones waged to join opposition before the election. Wasidewa and Dew stay further silent being lost their faces – since their maturity did not bring much.

All these men have ONE COMMON FACTOR- bearing a mouthpiece – that has no control when it goes for ethical and moral values. They need to have rehablitated before being joined to the new coalition.

dcn- Do you also want to call Karuna Amman, a gentleman. He traumatized the Tamils in the Eastern province for well over a decade and he with
Pillian and Douglas Devananda should have been arrested and jailed by
now.TNA is warned that if any of these treacherous people are accepted for nos sake, by the present govt, they should keep away from joining the govt. It was not the military that was the major problem in the N/E, but they used the above men and their armed militias to harass and kill the people on a daily basis and people detest them. They
Shamelessly ,without principles, approached the current govt to join and wonder as whose representatives, they approached.

Hope H.E. Sirisena will not make a serious mistake by accommodating them in the govt in any form and sadden the Tamil people , who took
risks of their lives to vote for him. They have no vote bank in N/E
and the only thing what they can do is to harass the people once again under new leadership. TNA should alert H.E on this dangerous issue as people want to move around with ease and without hindrance in N/E.
what the Tamils want is to wipe out these organizations from the face of the earth so that the people of N/E can live peacefully in their
      areas.

        Lanka Watch,
Your warning is timely. These criminals who harassed and even murdered innocent tamils in the north and east with impunity must not be given any say in the new government.

People of this country are sharpely divided. I mean focusing on the average. Even if their lovely ones would have been faced with all absysmal human rights violations – Mahinda to be gotten over 55lacks of votes is beyond all understandings. THis was the case with Dayasiri or anyone who just crossed over the party, but the total votes those guys claimed – reported as record high. In the same time every 2nd among the voters closely study the factor- that harm the nation today- which is lack of justice, law and order, not seeing right man in right place, not having proper investigations even if drugs and alcohol businessmen bred rapidly etc.. above not having security for the life.

How come just average people to go on thinking that they should be further patient and neglect all the basic rights – just because MR s term terminated 30 year long held war in the country. War factor though destracted many out of nothern soils did not even feel it to close skin. And again, why people in general to feel that they must not care about the qualities of human life as mentioned above.

Even today, having watched how many people greeted MR at his arrivals to the Party Meeting held in Colombo,I feel it is the media made it – refraining the ground realities getting to the average. Had they been aware of the gravity of corruption – being carried out by Rajapakshe family – being able to think bit further, not many would have voted for him. Within the shorter period – opposition had to camapaign amidst all harrasements publicly against them, if all went well with those campaigns, .. I have no doubt, My3 could have won with a LAND SLIDE VICTORY.

In the past CROSS OVERS from UNP to SLFP or SLFP to UNP were used to do BAD THINGS – specially to Tamils
Hope these cross overs are used to do GOOD THINGS to all.

Let them come but in many ways they were opportunists. If MS had lost election they would have been part of a vociferous group who would have branded MS a traitor, terrorist and eeelamist. They know which side their bread is buttered. But I hope they not considered for prominent positions in government.

New President should be careful and make sure none of them are dual citizens .
Dual citizens who claim they are the only patriots and who can defend the integrity and the safety of the multi racial multi religious country. Dual citizens will run away if their personal interests and power are at stake.

The new allegiance to Maithri’s SLFP from MR’s SLFP leadership would probably last three months max, just to get urgent bills (election rules on PR sytem) and new appointments to be ratified after which Parliament will be dissolved and everyone goes to the polls. These new crossovers will still need to be closely monitored to prevent any undermining efforts on their part to destabilize the new administration. New Prez should act smart and be firm when it comes to such issues, or else will loose even the JVP support. Tricky politics.

MARA didn’t go peacefully. And he’s not settled down
peacefuly means he’s creating problems from outside
with resources he has.Minimizing chaos should be the
priority for the winner.Winner needs enough majority
to carry out his plans.Parliament is full of crabs
and you got to walk with them to avoid clash. There will
be an SLFP president with a govt led by UNP majority
with other smaller parties included. What’s new is,MARA
is out and Ranil in!And the govt is national interim.
Soon a general election will sort out all interim probs.

Remember that MR’s Government attempted destroy UNP in 2007 and the half of UNP split up and joined Govt, Now the SLFP split into two factors with two different leaders. The Karma has striked again!

With this kind of split up from SLFP is good choice fo Ranil to stay in power, If they didn’t split up MR will come as National List and oust Ranil from power, and install himself as Executive Prime Minister for next 6 years

MR is getting back and tasting his own medicine for the trouble he caused to the UNP and Ranil. And also what he did to Chandrika and Mangala – like bitting the hands which gave him help.
When the power is gone who would go behind him. All these, God’s curse for all the bad things he and his clan did for the people and the country. All changed in a day within 24hrs. Soon he and his clan would be history as his own people are deserting him.

The new Leaders have to think ahead more deeply. MR has the backing of a sizable
Sinhala Buddhist Voters, which can only decrease after a full-scale COI in all the
aspects of the late Regimes governance. Also an inquiry immediately of the attempted
    Coup, as alleged here:-

Mahinda Rajapaksa forfeited his right to remain as the President of SLFP by the step-fatherly treatment of SLFP members of the Parliament. He was elected to power by the SLFP. What percentage of the budget did he allocate to the SLFP Ministers? How many important portfolios did these SLFP Ministers hold? He was only interested in fostering the Rajapaksa Dynasty.

It is in his own interest to enjoy life as a former President who handed over power gracefully, rather than face investigations on charges of treason & bribery.

The Tamil votes en mass was crucial to MS’s win. Karuna Amman was a traitor to the Tamil cause. He was advising the government during the mass murder of Tamil civilians in 2009. It is a grave error of judgement for MS to solicit the friendship of this traitor. It is also a betrayal of the trust that so many Tamils have placed on him.

MS was given a mandate by the majority. He must stand tall and govern without let or hindrance and must distance himself from the shameless opportunists. These opportunists will never bring any credit to his tenure.

BBS rep, there was a talk that karuna advised gota to shoot prabhas son balachandran as there could be a future danger if he lived.

The 600 policeman he killed when they surrendered after LTTE agreed with premadasa to spare them is also a serious issue as you mention.

It is best that maitri does not take people who could become an embarrassment to him when future charges are laid one day.

Some of these are spineless sticks-in-mud types. I hope the president won’t take just anyone who is willing to join his team. Remember, that is one of the main causes for Rajapakse’s defeat – people were fed up of his team as much as himself.

Where are the senior-to-be pole vaulters like Kudu Dimu J,
Ratnasiri W, Fowzie and other sundry MPs, Deputy Ministers, State Ministers et al who were billed to jump ship. Naturally, Kudu Mervin’s
application was rejected. No surprise there. He stinks too much. It won’t be long before his own underworld pals in Kelaniya get him.

Thondaman will very likely be taken in. He will agree to any formulae so long as his indispensable security retinue is not taken away from him. If it is, his life will be in danger from his own people. He has already spelt the death-knell of the once admired CWC – where from about 9 MPs there are only 2 now. Does he care?
