A court case has been filed against the diplomatic immunity given to Major General Prasanna Silva, the defence attaché to the Sri Lankan High Commission in London.
The Global Tamil Forum (GTF) filed the case today demanding that the British Foreign Office remove Silva’s diplomatic immunity so he can face legal action in London.
The diplomatic immunity can only be removed by the sending state, in this case Sri Lanka. But the British Foreign Office can request for a waiver of the diplomatic immunity, lawyers appearing on behalf of GTF have said.
In the event the Sri Lankan government refuses to remove his diplomatic immunity then the British Foreign Office can deport him based on the court ruling.
“Every alleged war criminal of Sri Lanka must know that the Tamils will not rest until justice is served for the terrible crimes they are alleged to have committed. This along with other legal proceedings must send a message to the regime that they are not welcome in the international scene. There remain other alleged war criminals in Australia and in New York where we will start proceedings soon,” Suren Surendiran, Spokesperson for the Global Tamil Forum said.
Silva was in the military during the final war against the LTTE and GTF is demanding that Major General Prasanna Silva be held accountable for the alleged war crimes committed during the battle.

Has anyone wondered with all the accusations made against the Sri Lankan Forces Personnel for War Crimes with hard evidence, they get appointed to Diplomatic postings and even the UN itself and the host countries are keeping mum. The Sri Lankan Forces even have been mobilised for the UN for the soldiers to earn a few extra bucks. This is the reward for the Sri Lankan Forces and those at the top, for having connived to end the War Drama planned by the Americans and the Indians. Now let us see where it ends.

Allegations = accusations. The BTF and the GTF are made up of liars and criminals. Each and everyone of their allegations can be challenged and bolwn to smithereens. Gnanakoon and the rouge Priest should have the whole blame of the LTTE placed on their heads. There is proof that the LTTE shot Prabakaran’s son and pretended it was the armed forces.

The Tamil diaspora is doing very well, as far as lobbying and creating awareness are going. Thanks to the speed of information travel, war criminals cannot expect to remain anonymous for long.
