In what is termed as an ‘unprecedented meeting’ several top diplomats in Sri Lanka came together on Thursday to assure the Muslim community that they will utilize their necessary diplomatic channels to pressure the government and the police to take action against the increasing attacks on Muslims.
During a meeting between the Ambassadors of EU, Australia, Canada, Turkey, South Africa, and the Muslim Council of Sri Lanka as well as other civil society organizations at the Dewatagaha Mosque in Colombo, the diplomats condemned the violence and called for freedom of religion and rule of law to be respected.
During the meeting, the diplomats highlighted that it was important for the government and the police to ensure there is no impunity to the series of hate crimes, which has seen a drastic increase over the recent weeks. Incidentally, the show of solidarity by the diplomatic community to the Muslims come exactly a week since the police claimed that it deployed four units to arrest Bodu Bala Sena’s Galagoda Atte Gnanasara on charges of inciting religious disharmony. However, a week later, Gnanasara is yet to be arrested.
In a tweet, Alan Keenan, Sri Lanka Project Director of the International Crisis Group said, “To my knowledge this kind of collective public diplomatic intervention is unprecedented in Sri Lanka.” He added that such intervention would have been ‘unnecessary’ if the government had enforced the law.

Last year, CNN reported quoting FBI’s Hate Crime Statistics Report, that in one year, anti-Muslim hate crimes in the US rose 67%, from 154 incidents in 2014 to 257 in 2015. How about intervening in that? <<<<< 4. Donald Trump’s immigration ban on Muslims were not challenged by counterparts of these Diplomats in the US. <<<<< 5. In India, attacks on Muslims by Hindus were not denounced by their counterparts. <<<<<< Practice what you preach, Diplomats!!! <<<<< Ranil’s failure to investigate these ‘phantom’ attacks leads to a suspicion that the Government is behind these attacks to create religious riots in the country.—— There is no need for Buddhists to attack Mosques.<<<<< Other than the voice of Gnansara Thero which was not raised against Muslims but in Protection of Buddhist Archaeological Sites, Deforestation in Wilpattu by a Muslim Minister and Illegal Construction of Muslim Settling Sites (don’t touch him), there is no “hatewave against Muslims”.

Champa, about 45 years back my Sinhalese friend and I accompanied a monk from Mawanella temple in search of treasures during Ramanaya’s time buried in a hilly place in central Sri Lanka. I cannot remember the name of the place. This monk with two of his partners took us on wild goose chase in hilly places and finally arrived at a spot which he recognized as the place on seeing some marks on a rock. Monk’s two helpers dig the place and found some items. He was excited and said we must explore and dig all around to find all the treasures. At the first glance we knew those were replicas of some antique items buried there sometime back. This monk try to hoodwink my friend to make money and become the guardian of that holy place. My friend who spent the money for this expedition controlled his anger and came off. This is the truth I am telling. When archaeologist find antiques they carbon date it find all the relevant history and will be kept in the archaeological department or museum. What I am trying to show here is all the archaeological sites these racist monk and his cohort are talking is all fabricated stories. There are more than 100 years old evidence of Muslims colonies near wilpattu which the racist and even the government now trying to erase. If we get down reputed archaeologist from India and show these places they will give the true result like they said of Ayodaya and Ramanaya as fable. It is true when you say about violence against Muslims in their respective countries. If Sri Lanka is a peaceful country why not try to stop the racist propaganda and small scale violence, instead you are contributing.

Three Tamil Hindu girls aged around twelve years and attending weekend religious school — araneri school — in Muthur Trincomalee were sexually assaulted by four Muslim youths last week. Girls are still in hospital and an identification parade is to take place on next Monday 5th June. Government should increase the military presence in the East. Also, start state-sponsored colonization schemes to settle Sinhalese. We need to follow the Israeli model. On another note. Let of all remember and commemorate the life and death of a famous modern Tamil Poet Abdul Rahman who passed away last Friday. He differed from most other Tamils poets was in his ability to draw upon Persian and Urdu classics, and bring in those influences to his own writing in Tamil. He had a huge fan following in Sri Lanka and won the hears of many Sri Lankan Tamils.

These diplomats are stating that Tamil lives do not matter but Muslim do. Lots of them collude with the Sinhalese racists , when they visit the north or east, only visit nd have talks with the racist occupying Sinhalese armed forces or Sinhalese government officials. They either refuse to talk to representatives of the Tamils or ignore them. The north and east is ancient Tamil Hindu land not Sinhalese land or Muslim land. Like you stated Australia is the biggest hypocrite and culprit. All their so called born again Christian or what ever they call politicians journalists , other than the greens and a few truthful journalists, openly collude with the racist Sinhalese establishment armed forces , even when they visit Tamil areas. Return to Australia and speak and publish lies and untruths. Not very Christian for these so called born again Christians. Jesus Christ would have wept.
