Herman Guneratne who was arrested in connection with shooting a firearm into the crowd during the UNP’s internal clashes on in Matara on 5 October was granted bail by the Matara High Court today, as Colombo Telegraph accurately predicted in its report on Saturday (2).

The Matara High Court granted Guneratne bail after the Magistrate’s Court denied the bail request, Colombo Telegraph learns.
Guneratne is likely to travel to Singapore for medical treatment in due course, Colombo Telegraph learns.
In its report Colombo Telegraph said Author and presidential associate Herman Guneratne who was recently transferred to the Matara Prison hospital lhas had the charge against him reduced to the use of minimal force in self defence and is expected to be given bail when he is produced before the Matara magistrate on Monday or the Matara High Court.

If “Arayage Minissu” did what this Matara Cow(da)Boy did, Police would have taken him to find hidden weapons and everybody can guess the rest.
In my opinion this guy should send to China to get a proper training on how to use minimal force.

A government.. What is it good for.. absolutely nothing.. I Seriously have nothing else to say.. Everything is corrupt.. So why bother with the “judicial system”.. Everything is corrupt from our birth to death.. Do we really really need this shite to live a good and peaceful life.. Herman Gunaratne is a good man who acted on provocation. By pulling his gun out he prevented being hit with a pole, which at his age, may have even been fatal if the blow struck. It was not strictly self defence when he decided to fire at the fleeing assailant, so some strictures by Court would be in order. Do not forget that the offenders were those who attacked a peaceful protest march. In a sense it is a good lesson for hired goons who attack protestors.
