Hirunika Takes Law Into Her Own Hands

Determined to get justice, Hirunika Premachandra abducts a 34 year old man and holds him in her office

Hirunika1

The man was forcibly taken away by Hirunika’s staff members in a Land Rover Defender which belongs to her.

Defending her staff members’ action Hirunika said last night that she only wanted to do was to prevent a family from breaking up.

The victim, Amila Priyanga Amarasinghe said he was personally threatened by the parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra, the Police Spokesman said yesterday.

She denied all the accusations leveled against her and said that she had not threatened or assaulted Amila Priyanga Amarasinghe. She said that only she wanted to help one of her staff members, as his family was about to be broken up by an outsider.

She also went on to say Amila Priyanga who was also married, had been having an extra marital relationship with the wife of one of her staff members who had two children.

All were arrested apart from her by the police.

“She did a grave mistake, she can’t defend her action but she is defending it and which is alarming” one of her supporters told Colombo Telegraph.

“Just started her political thuggery” one commentator has posted on his Facebook page.

Another commentator posted on his Facebook page; “Seriously? Can never take the thug out of some. Like father, like daughter”

In SLK people get very emotional about their friends’ domestic issues whereas in Western countries they give them a wide berth. If the complain is factual, then I think Hirunika should n’t have got involved. As an MP she cannot behave like a teenager any more, and let us see you showing your maturity. I think the columnist is trying to create a storm in a tea cup ere. Not worth the paper it was written on!

you are an idiot. We have had enough of this crap in srilanka and are tired of it.This[Edited out] should be arrested and charged for abduction, kidnapping and assault(creating fear is assault). The law should apply equally to anyone in the country.Until we get that principle right we will be always third world yakkos.

        Absolutely.

She is a MP. She fought against the last government based on fairness and good governance and then does this? One could very clearly see that she is lying through her teeth. Comparing what happened to her father cannot absolve her culpability in this abduction, assault and battery. She cannot point to other ills of the country to justify her actions.

She should be disbarred as an attorney and kicked out from parliament. Still no comment from Maithri-Ranil duo or the hacks at the bar assosiation.

Give her a chance.. Warning would be enough. The govt will do their job properly. Not only this lady, but also other young bloods should be warned accordingly. Seniors will take care of them properly. We are all human beings, we make mistakes. These are not white van men – so dont treat her in the same manner thinking this is a greater mistake.

Accepting the mistake in public can help the nation that will come soon, I hope. This is not MR s governance but MY3 and Ranil. God bless

She is not a minor to give her a chance! She is pretty well experienced educated and saw the father’s bad reputation and how he was killed. She is much mature than most of the girls in her age with so many political involvements. This is pure thuggery inherited from the father! She simply is trying to continue the MR system she knew despite the change she was talking before the change! It is clear that she was lying as she was at a loss of words and stammering when the other helper stepped in in defense of her!

      Hirunika

“She said Amila Priyanga who was also married, had been having an extra marital relationship with the wife of one of her staff members who had two children.”

Good intention, but you need to follow the law of the land.

We all know the MaRas had white vans. They disappeared, and their bodies were or were not found.

You have treated the Amila Priyanga Amarasinghe, “relatively” well by white van standards.

Using Saudi Wahhabi/ISIS standards and Sharia Law, The Women and the man would have been stoned to death.

Did Hirunika prevent such an outcome and nipped it in the bud?

Excellent point. Are we getting back the Old MaRa culture of Law and Order by the Politicians?

The original intention might have been the white van outcome, but are they so stupid as to grab the guy from his work place, in front of the employer, and show her strength, or the goons strength, seem to indicate sheer stupidity, and complete disrespect for the Law, Or is it just show business to get media attention, and get the sympathy of the voters?

Did Hirunika prevent such an outcome and nipped it in the bud?

A very immature comment! I thought we were all fighting for justice and fair play. If Hirunika had a problem the correct procedure to follow would have been through the police and not take the law into her own hands and do what she thinks is right! She shouldn’t have abducted and confronted the man who was assaulted! If it was done under her instructions then she should get the due punishment under the law. No one including the president should be above the law!

Appreciate if you don’t justify the wrong things done by politicians who you support!

Agree fully that Hirunika and the women should have gone to the police, and the women complained about harassment. Was it really the case?

Yes, It is a case of Justice, Injustice and the rule of Law. Who are the victims here?

If you have two consenting adults carrying out an illicit affair, and the people around them know that this is going to split the family and the children will be affected, can the police do anything other than charging the women being a prostitute and the man being a John?

The Wahhabis handle by punishing both the man and women, and this is the Bible as well.

Did the man and the women, when they got married to their respective spouses promise to be faithful to each other, and the society in return gave them a “marriage” license?.

This is a question of individual freedom spousal rights, societal rights, and the Law of the Land. Hirunika, clearly broke the Law, and was a bad example to all MPS.

The question is what about the thousands of other women who do not have “Hirunukas” to help them?

“Appreciate if you don’t justify the wrong things done by politicians who you support!”

Amarasiri in no way justifies what the politician Hirunika did, while the intention was good. She has clearly overstepped and broken the law.

This is the malaise the Land pf native Veddah Aethho is suffering after 100 years of MaRa rule.

However, there is a greater societal problem. No respect for the law by the politicians, by the police, and even the commitments by the spouses to each other, and giving consideration to the children’s rights.

However, the core-problem, is Law and order and disrespect for the Law and constitution by the politicians and the police.

This filters down to the populace. So, married men and women flats around with much less consideration for the victims, the children and the society, for 5 minutes of pleasure.

Or is it 30 seconds of pleasure?

          .

What is the reason ? should we legalize polygyny for other communities also?
This is a silent social catastrophe which could have terrible implications in 5-10 years. Holy city Anuradapura has the highest number of prostitutes in Sri Lanka. I don’t think Kandy is too far behind.

Now let see the Hirunika episode. She has cross the red line. If yahapalanaya is at work she would have arrested by now. Victim has taken to her dense after kidnapping. What happen to the victim in her dense is not known. The thug Hirunika can deny victim’s claims. She is now an UNP member of parliament. Ranil as the leader of the UNP must take a strong action against her. Expel her from party and the parliament.

This is what happens when Law and Order breaks down. MaRa is not there, but MaRa and his cronies have trained the successors quite well.

What Hirunika did is clearly a case of kidnapping and a treat, whatever the intention behind it was. However, it a manifestation of the larger problem of Law and Order, the reason MaRa was removed by 62 lakhs. Unfortunately, SiRa and Ranil seem to be ineffective in addressing these issues, and will likely push it under the rug, just like their predecessors.

SiRa and Ranil seem to be HAPPY being PRESIDENT and PRIME MINISTER, in the LAND OF NATIVE VEDDAH AETHHO populated by the Paras from India.

This is what happens when political power gets into the heads of these children of gang leaders and thugs. They tend to take the law into their own hands like their fathers and want to solve the private problems of their supporters by threatening the other side. Hirunika was brought up in in the underworld society and still have connections with them.

This is the reason why PM and President advise these the kind of young politicians to be away from taking the law to their hand, since law authorities are given the power to do their job.
I really expect Hirunika, Ranajan, Sujeewa et al would respect President and PM s views.
Then only we can achieve the final goal – that law and order being give the place as due.
Just going to do the job of police – if this was the case in Germany, both parties would have been caught and MPs are warned about their duties to this manner.

Sri Lankan maid spared stoning sentence in Saudi Arabia

The 45-year-old woman, who was convicted of adultery in August, will serve “short jail term”, Sri Lankan official says.

Everybody, thanks for your input to save here from the Iblis, Devil following Wahhabis.

      http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/12/sri-lankan-maid-spared-stoning-sentence-saudi-arabia-151223130722929.html

A Saudi Arabian court has commuted the death-by-stoning sentence passed on a Sri Lankan maid convicted of adultery, Sri Lanka’s government said on Wednesday.

The 45-year-old married mother of two would now serve a “short jail sentence”, said Harsha de Silva, Sri Lanka’s deputy foreign minister, without giving any further details on the exact amount of time that she would have to remain behind bars.

“We have succeeded in getting the death sentence overturned. Our concern was to make sure that the original sentence was not carried out,” de Silva told reporters in Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo.

“The government of Sri Lanka wishes to acknowledge and appreciate the good offices of the Saudi authorities.

“The sympathy, understanding and the concern expressed, and assistance extended by many other parties is also noted and deeply appreciated.”

The woman, who has not been named, was convicted of adultery in August after her arrest in April last year.

She was sentenced to death by stoning, while an unmarried Sri Lankan man convicted alongside her was sentenced to 100 lashes.

De Silva said the Sri Lankan government had not appealed on behalf of the man.

The report is a misrepresentation of the facts, and all the fools that read it here have fallen to it like typical lemmings. The MP has already stated that whatever her supporters had done was wrong and she herself had taken them to the police station. Like typical Sri Lankans young blood and old blood wear their hearts in their sleeves, so they hit out without waiting to see the facts. Too bad,if you cannot face the truth.

She is no different from Mervyn Silva, Duminda de Silva or other criminals in parliament. A very good example of how political power makes you think you are the law.

      “Duminda de Silva”

      undoubtedly her uncle.

`A very good example of how political power makes you think you are the law.`

most of the politicians of Lanka have grown up under the influence of the left movement of russia, korea, china. So its their idea of liberty and freedom.

Remember as soon as Ranil (he was a minister of youth affairs during Preme days)
came to power said `we are into a revolution`

It means Ranil is the new dictator freeing himself and enslaving the people.

enjoy the full term of his office and beyond. His new constitution would allow him to extend the term of President until they have a referendum on the new constitution.
Lankan politicians never tell the people of Lanka but their masters India then the info flows like royal seepage.

Piranha: “She must be made to resign from Parliament”. Please know this is Sri Lanka and “The Miracle Of Asia”. There is no such thing as “Resigning from Parliament” and that word “Resigning” is quite “Foreign” to us. However, if that is the “NORM” or what is “Right Thing” to do, our Parliament will be empty and General Elections will have to be held at great cost to the People. So let it be as it is. Also this is nothing “NEW” to people of Kolonnawa.

These two people didn’t break any law. What happens between two consenting adults is their business. Amila Priyanga cant clap with one hand; your staff member’s wife is equally responsible.

Sure, in this situation the police can’t do a thing; they are not the moral police.

This is a bad move by the young woman. She should have invited him to a public place, bought him some ice cream, and had a kindly chat with him, advising him to not break families.

This will go against her, and only make her look like a thug, or yet another politician, who uses intimidation and fear, to get what they want. Now she will be compared to her father, or some thuggish politician who has resorted to such unprofessional tactics. It seems politicians find it easy in Sri Lanka to stoop to such ugly actions, they all rule through fear, intimation, and break the law very easily.

    Hello Hirunika,

You are one of those who opposed Mahinda Regime for white vans, abductions, taking law into their hands, and lawlessness etc and got onto the platform January 8th Presidential election on that basis, and that made you being promoted to be a Member of Parliament from Provincial Councillor by the people who admired you for the voice against taking law into the own hands.
Your father as well succumbed to the same somebody else doing that. Now you are doing the same to somebody else.
The reason perhaps you being a woman had forgotten what you are now, and offered a helping hand taking the law into your hand.
But you cannot defend or continue like this any further, but if you do so there is no difference between you and those who killed your father!

The Police conducted as per their mandate.

Hirunika’s mandate is to solve people’s problems within the law. Her motive is pure perhaps but her methods leaves much to be desired.

The little girl in pink points at the man who is forcing himself on her mother. The man is also married and have a family of his own. Hirunika’s actions may have prevented at least one family breakup.

Something failed along the way. It was perhaps marriage counselling services that did not kick in. The monk at the local temple was perhaps negligent.

The laws cannot be circumvented in any case. She should be charged with colluding in the abduction.

The judge however needs to be lenient and let it pass this time.

It will be a win-win, and that is what Hirunika wants to do, and she will like it, and will attain Nibbana or Nirvana and go to Heaven, depending on her beliefs.

It will be a win-win for All.

      “outside marriage”

It a question of the Country’s Laws.

Q1. What Law did they brake in SL? Not SL Criminal Law.

What they broke was the marriage vows, if it was there in their respective marriages.

Marriage vows are promises each partner in a couple makes to the other during a wedding ceremony based upon Western Christian norms. They are not universal to marriage and not necessary in most legal jurisdictions. They are not even universal within Christian marriage, as Eastern Christians do not have marriage vows in their traditional wedding ceremonies.

So, there was no criminality between the two consenting “partners”, “adulterers”. MP Hirunika and her thugs had no right, and should be prosecuted for their criminal actions. Only they broke sri Lanka’s Criminal Law.

Good intention, is of course, is a different story.

Q2. Suppose, they were in Saudi Arabia, and were caught with thse extra marital affairs. What Law did they brake in Saudi Arabia? Saudi Criminal Law, claimed to be based on the Quran and Hadith, Sharia Law, for whatever it is worth.

Then the man and women did break Saudi criminal law, and the state can take into custody the accused.

However, it is NOT upto the Saudi MPs to do that. It is an action for the Saudi Police or Saudi religious police, as it is a criminal act under Saudi Law.

That is what happens when Saudi Wahhabi follow the manipulations of Iblis and Satan and claim it is from God.
