Hirunika Takes Law Into Her Own Hands

Determined to get justice, Hirunika Premachandra abducts a 34 year old man and holds him in her office

Hirunika1

The man was forcibly taken away by Hirunika’s staff members in a Land Rover Defender which belongs to her.

Defending her staff members’ action Hirunika said last night that she only wanted to do was to prevent a family from breaking up.

The victim, Amila Priyanga Amarasinghe said he was personally threatened by the parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra, the Police Spokesman said yesterday.

She denied all the accusations leveled against her and said that she had not threatened or assaulted Amila Priyanga Amarasinghe. She said that only she wanted to help one of her staff members, as his family was about to be broken up by an outsider.

She also went on to say Amila Priyanga who was also married, had been having an extra marital relationship with the wife of one of her staff members who had two children.

All were arrested apart from her by the police.

“She did a grave mistake, she can’t defend her action but she is defending it and which is alarming” one of her supporters told Colombo Telegraph.

“Just started her political thuggery” one commentator has posted on his Facebook page.

Another commentator posted on his Facebook page; “Seriously? Can never take the thug out of some. Like father, like daughter”

Be careful guys, this is all due to the power that a pvt TV sender (Hiru TV) has got in srilanka. Even today, they function without any kind of intimidation.

All these are due to two parties…
Going back to the history where Hirunika s father was brutally murdered out deliberately also mediation of former president. Duminda Silva is the highly alleged murderer of the incident – his brother runs the HIRU TV. So, even if Hirunikas supporters abusively assualted the victimized person of the current incident – it is the law and order systems to take care of that.. not Hiru TV or lanken media. This is an another big big incidnet where lanken media telecast issue in a wrong manner.
Now with all becoming clear that Hirunika had not been in the place as had been reported… and investigative bodies do their job interviewing all the alleged men… why should we further add our thoughts not knowing the realiteis of the issues.
All we know is Hirunika is one another who risked her life to give us a change last 8th Jan. Noone can easly forget it.
GO back all high lies that Duminda Silva made being away 2 years teling the lanken parliament that he was injured and hospitalized in Spore. Even Former Presidnet went to see him. Those lawyers and medical profesisonals that made public statements to lanken folks to that time, should be investigated today by a neutral body.. since those pictures that were shown in public tv were misguding masses. All these were patronaged by Rajapakshe and his adminsitration. This investigation is the most abusive murder case in recent history of the country.

This will be the litmus test to see how ‘Yaha’ is ‘Yahapalanaya’ in actual practice.

The Prime Minister and the President should both take good note, that the public are watching intently.

UNP Christian Faction Leader Batalanda Rani hand picked Hirunickers and shoe honed her in to Yahapalana Parliament.

Now she is dispensing justice to Dalits who don’t toe the Yahapalana guidelines.

Hirunickers even promised the victim a better job than what he is currently doing, if he does what Hirinickers wants.

And it is all in Camera.

I don’t see any issues here.

I mean what the hell is she going to do with a Defender nowadays, when Hard core Tigers are released by Hirunicker’s own leaders, the President ,and the PM.

And the Tiger Supporters, LTTE Political allies , Suren Surendran ,Fr Emmanuel and the Diaspora are all in one.

On top of that no Military Intelligence Officers even are there now to harm anyone, after Batalanda Ranil’s CID are interrogating them under the PTA.

Even the brave Commanders in our Tri Forces especially who are in the Army are shitting in their pants about what is going to happen to them when the White Judges sit in the Hybrid Court.

Unless Bodhi Sira is scared of our Dalits in the South, and let our gun MPs like Hirunickers from Colombo to keep the Defenders to defend themselves.

” UNP Christian Faction Leader Batalanda Rani hand picked Hirunickers and shoe honed her in to Yahapalana Parliament”.

Sumanasekera, I kindly ask you not to bring religion nor our prime minister into ridicule.

What is your problem with Christianity?

And what is your problem with Ranil? Have you figured whether the parliament would be richer, through his absence?

And don’t moan about Batalanda any more. You had every opportunity under this country’s worst leader to nail him, and you couldn’t.

Besides, Can you compare Ranil with the teetering wreck who was the Prime Minister one year ago and whom we sustained for zero contribution?

Be honest with yourself. Grant that we have a vastly better Prime Minister than one year ago; easily the most well suited for the job.

Also Remember: A free press does not mean you are free insult as you want.

I have often wondered what merited her and political brats like her to be elected MPs and that too with large majorities.
Personal grievances, public sympathy, parental connection, brashness, loud noise, media promotion. good looks, money- what is it?

    Dr.Rajasingham Narendran.

Simple. People have no f-ing idea what the hell they are voting for when they are at the polling booth. Some think they are selecting the most popular person and others think they are selecting the best joker for the next season; yet others are using it as some sort of a gift voucher.

Watching Sri Lankans trying to use their voting rights is like watching my grandma trying to use a modern-day food processor. Sometimes it is hilarious but on other times it is down right scary.

And to think People of Colombo selected this over somebody like Rosy Senanayake is the best example. I’m not too gunge-ho about Ms. Senanayake’s politics but she is probably one of the most decent politicians in this country.

Hirunika on the other hand was just fine with MR’s crooked system until she got the short end of the stick with her fathers murder. And then she is interested in justice? Bull-shit!

There are many. Hilarious one is our Wimal Buruwanse. What a joker to be elected to NSA.

There are many buruwas like him stalling Sri Lanka to emerge out as a responsible nation.

This Wimal Buruwa’s manike is another natum Rani and Mahinda Rajapake is the fiddle stick player. With the end of Mahinda’s rule the Buruwanse is nobody.

There must be a revolution to target these buruwa’s from the political stream.

Hirunika should be arrested as an accomplice in the crime.

Unfortunately, that will not happen under the administration of Sirisena-Ranil Yahapalanaya government. Instead she will soon be made a full Minister or half Minister.

It will be a disgrace to the legal fraternity if she is admitted as an Attorney-at-Law.

It is clearly evident from the video clip that she was lying. She was trying to evade the issue by harking back to the assassination of her father. Unable to face questions from the media she abruptly ends the news conference.

I was on sympathetic towards Hirunika’s political journey at the beginning. But this kind of acts show her immaturity as a politicians. Also she inheti her family background too. unfortunately it is a duty of law enforcement agencies to take appropriate actions against her actions.

Hirunika herself changed boy friends and this is a kind
of same situation except for marriage for which there
is divorce . Solution for the man in Hirunika’s security
is, taking the divorce and not forcing his wife to live
with him unwillingly. Of course the victims family will
also break up . But to stop this , why should an outsider,
a respectable member of the legislature be allowed to
break many other laws ? They forcibly stormed into a
commercial establishment , took away by force an employee
leaving the establishment’s business in jeopardy and
forcing the victim to an unlawful intervention . A lawyer
and a law maker behaving like this in public can not be
described in words. She has brought disrepute not only to
herself but also to the legislature , the party and the
government . All these institutions are bound to see that
this type of hypocrisy won’t be tolerated . This is just
an absurd situation of a private individual for an elected
MP to come in between. Shameful and foolish .

    Hirunika,

“The man was forcibly taken away by Hirunika’s staff members in a Land Rover Defender which belongs to her.”

You apparently have a staff of at least 6 men. You have a brand new Defender.

Where does your money come from? Inheritance?

I know that the MPs can obtain an interest free loan to import Defenders but how do you pay back the loan with your salary and allowance? The monthly payment might be higher than your income.

I believe that a staff of three is provided by the tax payers. Are the others volunteers or how do you pay them? Don’t any women work for you?

Don’t forget that we can obtain information on your wealth and how it develops for 750 rupees.

      Hirunika,

“You apparently have a staff of at least 6 men”

In the media I have seen them described as your body guards. How many body guards do you have in addition to the extra police security (more than other MPs have) that the police provides? How big a staff do you have?

How do you pay for all this?

“Amila Prasanga, who was abducted by UNP MP Hirunika Premachandra’s security personnel using her vehicle has told police that MP had threatened him not to be in the area and if he did he would be abducted.”

Have you heard about Fundamental Rights to choose where to live and work?

“Hirunika has said, “It happened due to a personal dispute between a person said to have been assaulted by one of my supporters. The youth abducted my supporter’s wife and kept her forcibly. My supporter met me with his two children and explained what had happened. I sent all three to the shop where the man worked. My supporters had asked the man to come out and he did not comply. The others who went with him brought the man to my party office. No one assaulted him and he was only advised. I requested him to release the woman and he agreed. Everything was solved.”

Are you saying that you involved two children in this mess?

May I suggest that you leave your role as marital counselor for people who are more competent than you are.

    IGP Ilangakoon,

    Dear Sir,

The police provides security for the politicians.

In my opinion the police guarding the politicians should have a dual role. They should protect the politicians and at the same time protect the voters from the politicians.

What was the security detail of Hirunika doing when a man was brought to her office against his will?

Did they participate in the alleged abduction or just stood by?

Did they not notice a Defender arriving with 7 men and two children?

Hirunika’s father was a thug, so thuggery is obviously in her blood. MR made her mother an adviser soon after the death of her father so that the family could continue to benefit from the perks & brought her into politics, I presume, as some sort of compensation. In fact, she was prepared to abandon the fight for justice for her father by joining the party which was responsible for her father’s death & then gained the sympathy vote to get to the parliament. Now, having done all that, she probably wants to improve her popularity with the masses, in her thinking, by doing a Mervin Silva, that is taking the law into her hands. What a bunch of stupid yobs we have voted into parliment.

    Hirunika,

What is going on? First you admitted and said that you only wanted to save a marriage.

Yesterday you made a statement that you know nothing about what happened.

With your contradictory statements your credibility is low.

Have your original statements to the media not been filmed and are there not many witnesses like your police body guards?

    http://dailynews.lk/?q=2015/12/26/local/hirunika-questioned-again

“United National Party (UNP) Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra was questioned again by the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) yesterday following a complaint lodged by a 34-year-old man that he had been abducted and assaulted by the MP’s personal staff.

According to CCD sources, Premachandra was questioned from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at the CCD.

Premachandra, in her statement said she did not know anything about the incident which occurred on Monday.

Meanwhile, the sources said a cousin brother of the MP was among the suspects remanded over the incident.”

    IGP Ilangakoon,

    Dear Sir,

Please make sure that this case is investigated properly. Question the remanded suspects, obtain phone records and ask what the police body guards have witnessed.

It is likely that the office of Hirunika has CCTV that has filmed everything.

    ASP Ruwan Gunasekara,

“The Police would not hesitate to take legal action against Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra if the investigations found evidence to the effect that she had aided and abetted the recent abduction of a youth, said ASP Ruwan Gunasekara yesterday.”

Thank you for having confirmed something that is obvious in many other countries but not in SL.

Who is going to believe if the result of the investigation is that Hirunika knew nothing about 6-8 men of her staff taking her car to abduct, threaten and abuse the victim?

After some time this case will disappear from the media like other cases where politicians are involved.

Would be nice to know where the victim is and how he is protected.

“Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said today the Attorney General’s advice would be sought on the action to be taken in connection with UNP MP Hirunika Premachandra’s involvement in the incident where a man was said to have been abducted and assaulted by some of her supporters.”

I can only hope that all possible witnesses have been questioned at the office of Hirunika.

Now we will see how long the AG needs to decide and if a minister interferes again.

“The Colombo Crimes Division today arrested two more suspects in connection with the kidnapping of a youth in Dematagoda,
Earlier, six suspects, including five staff members attached to UNF Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra who were allegedly involved in the abduction of a man by a defender belonging to MP Premachandra were ordered to be remanded till January 4 by a Colombo Court.”

Assuming that one of the 8 suspects is the man whose wife is “missing in action” I wonder who is taking care of the 2 kids of the couple. Are they with Hirunika? Where are the mother and the victim?

How big a staff does Hirunika have? Any staff members left to help her or are they all now in remand prison?

As they say in Tamil even if you bathe a crow in many a river of water the crow remains black. There is what is known as Kolonnawa Kulture that cannot be wished away if one has to remain at the higher levels of political governance in that crime and drug-infested electorate. Statistically, the rate of crime and the presence of criminals in the area is one of the highest in the whole Island in recent decades.

It appears even some years in liberal, democratic and sophisticated Britain does not seem to have changed this “lawyer” lass from the ways of her own little world. Her father and grandfather were deeply involved in the murky and often violence-related Trade Unionism and politics where crime and its twin gangsterism not only plays a central role but is, tragically, indispensable.

The days of ladies of calibre like Mrs. B, Mrs. J.P. Obeysekera who adorned the portals of Parliament with grace and dignity are now old history. It is now the turn of women gangsters, drug-runners, comfort women, kidnappers and assassins – a continuation of Sri Lanka’s rapid decline to self-destruction as a once decent country. We will see more re-runs of Bonny & Clyde, UP’s (India) Bandit Queen now and in the future – literate as well illiterate – but no less toxic in influence of the female of the species. By design, I avoid the word Ladies.
