Hirunika To Enter Ruling Party Politics

By Colombo Telegraph –

Hirunika Premachandra, the daughter of Coordinating secretary to the President Mahinda Rajapaksa,  Sumana Premachandra and late Presidential Advisor Baratha Lakshman Premachandra, said today that she would enter active politics soon. She has already discussed her future politics with Basil Rajapaksa and Namal Rajapaksa The Colombo Telegraph has learnt.

“My father didn’t do politics for money, and the people loved him for all the service that he rendered to the people. I want to continue the same politics that my father did and will do this from Kolonnawa” she said. Hirunika made these remarks while addressing a ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the erection of a statue of her father in Kolonnawa. “When giving nominations in future, political parties should consider the moral character of the people who are given nominations. There is also a drug menace in the area and I want to spearhead the battle against it,” she said.

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa laid the foundation stone for the construction of a statue of late Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra at the Kolonnawa industrial zone. “As politicians and political leaders we must be cautious about the candidates that we nominate. If politicians do not have the necessary patience they should give up politics. It is with much pain that I am expressing this view.” Chamal Rajapaksa said.

Leader of the House Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva shared these views in this event. “It is my view that we all should be determined to create a democratic political environment in the country by eliminating political violence. Today, his wife and daughter Hirunika have a special task. They have the responsibility of continuing the journey of Bharatha Premachandra.”

In sri lankan politics, every man (& woman) has his price.
Usually, offers are made to rivals which “cannot be refused”.
This lady has most probably been enticed by one such offer.
She has to accept,in order to survive & live the good life.
Of course lofty ideals & promises are quoted/made to justify acceptance.

I would better put it in this way.

Best picture is to prove how victims of a brutal murder are deliberately being deceived by totalitarian mechanisms in order rulers to be abel to continue their own stratgies deceiving the nation further.

Average of the country would raise the question – the met victims are sane at all. When closely studying the speeches interveiws given by Hirunika to the media from the very incident and after each of the court hearing – she should have been brainwashed to be able to contradict in this way.

She speaks about the governance of the lawlessness prevailing in the country today, but she herself seems to be showing just the naivity – not a good sign if she would ever be able to comprehend the matters of alarming state.

Joining the people who sanctioned her fathers death?
Ruling clique must protect their kolla & cool it before he comes from Singapore so build a statue, bit of tax payer money thrown in,Hirunika in time starts to soft peddle everything and then our famous police line-No Witnesses.
Instead of hanging onto expired goods better for this beaut with brains to join the rising tide.

She appeared as a dissident but ended up as a timid rat. This is a question for sociologist.
She is a political opportunist. She has nothing to offer for Kolonnawa or Sri Lankan politics.
SF may also do the same thing.

There are still folks living at Kolonnawa, who remember Baratha Lakshman as a young man doing his daily ablution, with towel tied around the waist and toothbrush in mouth at the stand pipe with the rest of the folk who used to gather as the tenements did not have toilets on their own. What a rise with no proper job, but being involved in Politics. No wonder it is said Politics make strange bedfellows. The son seems to be taking well after the father, like duck to water.

Gamini, don’t BS as if you know everything. Do not insult dead man, he is not there to answer back. Bharatha came from a middle class family where parents spent whatever their earnings to give them a good education. They sent us 5 girls to Buddhist Ladies College and two brothers to Carey College. Later on only two boys went to Ananda College. If you have nothing good to say it is ok, but making up stories just to insult this dead man who can not speak for himself is a crime. That is why as a nation we can never move forward, with the mindset of people like you Sri Lanka would never be prosper.

Swarna, do not be hysterical. You claim to be a sister as you say the five of you girls attended Buddhist Ladies College. For the readers benifit here, would you state the names of your/Bharatha Laxman’s father and mother, the address of your residence then and the vocation to establish you all were middle class. I will send a photograph of Baratha Laxman bare bodied in towel, standing next to a stand pipe with the rest at Kollonnawa to confirm and a photograph of your house then. I am sure from the photograph you might be able to identify some of them in the photo.

Justice for both Bharatha and Duminda? Not bad!One statue, one secretarial and another one we all can’t do without! Why are you all so desperate to hide your past and still want to represent the
same lot you are not proud of?Mona pissuda mun okkoma harahata yanawa!!!

Stupid idiot like you I don’t have to answer. Kolonnawa people know where we lived. I am not ashamed to say if we had to stand in line next to pipe if that is the case, on the other I would have proudly said it when I look at where our family is today. If people have to stand in line next to pipe, that is not their fault, it is the system that has denied them having necessity of life. Instead of wasting your time slinging mud at people, try to do something to change the system which has made politicos and surrounding them are richer, thus poor ones getting more poor. This is the end of the story. You may want to reply again. But I do not wish to waste my valuable time on idiots like you. I have better things to do in my life. Thanks

Swarna, to quote you verbetim, ‘. I am not ashamed to say if we had to stand in line next to pipe if that is the case, on the other I would have proudly said it when I look at where our family is today. If people have to stand in line next to pipe, that is not their fault, it is the system that has denied them having necessity of life’. Yes Swarna I totaly agree with you, the State should provide the basic amenities to all. The fact I tried to stress was that, as you say you are proud, when you look at where your family is today from where you all were then. So there is no dispute on that score. The question is how not your parents, but your brother Bharatha Laxman reached such heights of financial gain without a proper job other than being involved in politics. Swarna it is a public secret and quite many at Kolonnawa know how your brother became so rich. Now that you admit your humble beginings, the rest of the poor in the country are not so lucky as your family to become rich, not because they do not know the tricks of the trade, to have resorted to peddling, crime and thugery but they have self respect and dignity, which your family does not have. Otherwise see the daughter after all the allegations, cuddling up to the very perpetrators. Am I wrong?

Swarna as for your suggestion, ‘Instead of wasting your time slinging mud at people, try to do something to change the system which has made politicos and surrounding them are richer, thus poor ones getting more poor’. If I am to take your advice seriously, that is exactly what I was on about your brother of a Politician how he became so rich and the poor getting poorer. Why don’t you read the comments of others in this thread, the compliments paid to your family. Hirunika having tasted politics, it is not surprising she values financial benifits more than principles in life.

Just reading your first reply, I thought Gamini is only busy with gossips – is even the biggest Gossip monger very like to the charactor of Kopikade dayawathi. No,I am absolutely wrong here, now only I realized what he wanted to point out.Reading the second comments it became further clear to me that his comments indeed revealed the readers how the current politicians become rich, abusing fund allocated to poor people^s bread.

So Swarna, if you are honest as you youreslf commented here, try to come with a clear explaination to what you have to say about the allegations on corruptions.

Please also consider all the comments made by many commentators on this forum and come with acceptable arguments why your sister in law and Niece Hirunica turned upside down -what caused them both to do so betraying the brutal murder of your brother, their husband and father.

Anton, for one to criticise another or comment, cannot do so with skeletons in cupboards. It is only such people, with clear conscience and character who should come forward to do politics. Unfortunately today any Tom Dick or Harry can take to politics and further many believe it is a family fifedom, a vocation one can enter with no minimal qualification and believe brawn over rides brain.

Any person with a sound mind could see and analyse the administration of present government in all the aspects of political, economic, social, cultural lives in Sri Lanka. It is based on carrot and stick (gun) policy. How the GOSL acquired Daya Gamage’s business is one example. But the day people will rise is not that far.Hirunika will play the game accordingly as others in the parliament do. Sri Lankans are very good at it. All the best to all.

From all the comments and the side they take it is very evident what
SL politics is made of up, currently. It is on this basis one could
say that the Sinhala Voter is not going to let MR down and he knows
it. KP/Douglas/Pilliyan/Karuna will form one side of the dirty
politics. Elections may come or not, MR regime is all set to
    continue for donkeys ears!

This appalls me.. so, I believe supporters stood by them at the loss of Baratha do feel the same.

It is just common to many living in the country but to me and others far from understanding, even unimaginable.

Sweep the due court investigations of the brutally gunned down Baratha murder under the carpet was the regime^s plan in advance. Young daughter s fearless protest was caused hatreds towards brutal killers.

Howerever, unexpected U turn move of the family, mother becoming so called secretary to President and daughter is about to start UFTA politics – by falling on the trap naively, moreover, this is an another example, as family representative of the young law faculty undergraduate – further clear that her immaturity for the politics and unscruplous tactics of the rulers.

Had Hirunika, let alone, waited until the main perpetraitor Duminda de Silva- rapist, drug dealer but a parliamentarian of the current regime personally brought before the courts, supporters would have made their minds up.

Media lately revealed Dumindas s personal statement on the brutal murder will be towards the end of July.

Latter is an another example to streghthen the view that lanken courts are politically influenced and not being independent – so issue of warrants against the main perpatrator Duminda being publicly neglected. Perhaps the procedure of growing lawlessness for the Island nation becoming normal, when considering the truth lately revealed – open ignorance of police even upon 100 court warrants against Juliampiyta Amre.

Absurd, Govt repeatedly reported insisting Duminda ^s mental state being not yet grown for questioning, EVEN THOUGH THE fact that Duminda`s visit paid to PM, a couple of weeks ago, while the PM was being hospitalized in the same Singoprean hospital was appeared in the news.

This victimized family still has to come with an adequate explanation to the nation/ at least to their supporters why they changed their mindsets .

Blackmail has worked again. For a lass in the threshold of a legal career, she was slapped with a Contempt of Court Case supported by a
P.C. known to be a Rajapakse sycophant. She seems to have settled to the wisdom it is better to ride with the tide than go against a force
she has absolutely no chance to dislodge. As in most of our political
issues, this has nothing to do with principle but more aimed at personal advancement. If Martin McGuiness of the IRA/Sinn Fein can shake hands his one-time enemy Queen Elizabeth TT last week in the quest for peace and reconciliation, Hirunika might even embrace
Duminda in due time. Politics does make strange bed-fellows, eh?

      Sai,
Probably she believes it is good to battle for justice within that from outside! Look what happened to Fonseka. While everybody else hated the government for what they did to him and launched protests but he suffered in jail for three years. Because the opposition is shambles, they can’t help anybody. They only want to use Fonseka or Bharatha or even Prabhakaran to raise their game a bit, to win a few votes. This Bharatha family has ambitions as well, to eat and live is one. If they move away from the governing party, join another party, there is a chance for Duminda to come back as the organiser of their electorate. You never know who is more popular, they both had gangs. May be this way, she will keep Duminda away from the area and perhaps from politics as well.

    How is this possible?

Namal is a close friend of both Kudu Duminda and Julampitiye Amare. He is a member of the insiders gang protecting UPFA killers.

Hirunika was talking about building a law abiding society. If I am not mistaken.

Looks like the UPFA mafia has made an offer Hirunika cannot refuse.

Atleast we discovered she is not the kind of politician Sri Lankans are looking for. I hope I am wrong.

    Time will show.

MR clan is ruling the country on two fronts.one is with the enormous wealth swindled by various means are poured into either to buy or suppress or destabilize the opposition, media, and all it’s rivals. The second front which is more dangerous is to borrow as much as from outside so that the future governments will ever have to keep paying the loans, and never able to develop the country. All the fake development projects, govt.ministers, Hirunika are all example of them.

After all that talk about how brave she was after her father’s murder and her quest for justice for her father she meekly joins the criminal gang that killed her father. I had a lot of sympathy for the woman but now I see that she is no different to the others in the Rajapaksa gang. Now she will sing from the same Rajapaksa chorus sheet and fleece the public as a ruling party politician.

She has lost her credibility in the eyes of the public and cut herself a pathetic picture. Having watched how she retorted soon after Bharatha’s killing and her declarations that she would not rest until his killers were brought to justice, I am saddened by the turn of events. It won’t surprise me any further if she starts singing hosanna for the ruling family and retracts her accusations of Kudu Duminda for the killing. This is Sri Lankan brand of politics, so sickening and disgusting and good only for stupid people, who are gullible and unable to judge the trickster politicians!
