Hon. Karuna Amman – The One Even Above The God

By V. Kanthaiya

The fate of Premini was terrible. The dusky woman with attractive features was taken to another camp and raped first by Sinthujan himself. Thereafter it was a horrible gang rape with TMVP cadres taking turns to sexually assault her. Fourteen cadres raped the poor girl. Premini was heard to shout and cry at the start. Later she merely sobbed and whimpered. Premini was taken out before dawn by TMVP cadres to the jungles. She walked without crying or showing signs of emotion said one ex – TMVP cadre. She was apparently hacked to death and thrown into the bushes.” – First Anniversary: The tragic fate of TRO employees abducted by Karuna cadres, by D.B.S. Jeyaraj, 4 February 2007.[i]

Gota&KarunaI know a mother whose son went missing. She is from Neerveli, Jaffna. The pain is gruesome. It is not something like your loved one getting killed, where you have no choice but to accept the reality and come over the grief and move on. But having someone from your family missing (enforced) is terrible. It just leaves you some questions. First whether your loved one is alive or not? If alive, where is he/she? Is he/she being treated well or being tortured? To whom you should complain to get him/her back? In an enforced disappearance, it is not only the victim who suffer, but also the entire family.

The mother I met was struggling with the uncertain reality. She still believes that her son should be alive somewhere in this country as the dozens of astrologers she had sought advice told her that her son is still alive somewhere in the southward direction from her home. That’s the only hope she has got and that’s the only thing which still drives her in her search for the missing son. Every time the phone rings, she said, she hopes it is from her son or someone who knows about her son’s fate. It is over five years since her son went missing. There are thousands of mothers like her in our country.

An interesting fact in all or most of the enforced disappearances is that the victims’ relatives know who the captors were. They can identify whether it is the police or the military or the Karuna Group or the EPDP or the LTTE. And most of the times, they know which camp the captors came from, sometimes they know the individuals involved in the enforced disappearances. However, so far not a single suspect of enforced disappearance was brought to book, needless to say about how many were punished by the court of law. So many mothers have openly complained to the LLRC and the president’s Commission investigating the enforced disappearances that their sons were abducted by Karuna Group.[ii]

Karuna-@-Ramada-Dance colombotelegraphWell! Leave the security forces of this country. They are above the law and can never be punished for their crimes. But why the legal system of this country could not take any action against the paramilitaries for their crimes against Sri Lankan citizens and the humanity as a whole? Is it because these murderers did not leave any trace of their barbaric acts? In fact, most of the abductions by Karuna Group were done in broad daylight, in public places. In an instant, they stopped a bus and pulled out their victim and assaulted his mother who tried to save her son. [iii]

So, is it because these criminals are on the run and have hidden somewhere? No. They live right here, right in front of us, with their families. Not only that, they laugh, they dance and appear on TV shows and speak about how they helped to win the war and eradicate terrorism in this country, and of course, despite the number of abductions, murders, rapes, and extortions they have done they are called ‘Honourable’.

In November 2013 (for the CHOGM), Mr. Rauff Hakeem made a comment to the press about Karuna which is as follows;

‘Karuna’s presence here is symbolic, for it provides some idea about the LTTE fighting cadres’ willingness to embrace peace’[iv]

It was very strange that Hakeem, who was the then Minister of Justice had forgotten that it was after 2004 March, in other words it was after embracing the so called peace, and Karuna Amman went berserk in the government controlled areas.

KARUNA and DouglasMahendra Percy Rajapaksa Regime was marketing Karuna Amman’s collaboration with the then government as a transformation of a terrorist into democracy. It tried to portray Karuna Amman as someone like the General ‘Butt Naked’ of Liberia, a cannibal warlord who turned into an evangelist[v]. Of course, I am not a professional political analyst. Yet my humble mind says that Karuna Amman and General ‘Butt Naked’ cannot be compared except their atrocities committed against humanity. It also should be noted that the General ‘Butt Naked’ openly accepts what he had done during the Liberian Civil War, including cannibalism and expressed his willingness to be tried by ICJ. What about Karuna Amman? When Deputy Minister Sujeewa Sensingne criticised, this warlord simply pounced back by talking about how the Premadasa regime gave weapons to LTTE and told he would expose more secrets if UNP continue to criticise him. [vi]

What makes it interesting is Karuna Amman’s relationship with his masters, till the time he split with Prabhakaran, he was the second-in command in LTTE and enjoyed a ‘near’ autonomy in controlling the eastern province. Once he split up with LTTE and joined the Rajapaksa government, he went on a rampage of abductions, recruitment of child soldiers, extortions and murders. Rajapaksa government turned a blind eye and patronized him as it desperately needed Karuna Amman in its war against the LTTE. He was even made a national list MP and then appointed as the deputy minister of integration in 2008. And he enjoys the same level of impunity in ‘Yahapalanaya’.

Only once in his life Karuna was challenged. That’s is none other than by Mr. Pillaiyan, his aide. The entire eastern province became bloody battle theatre when these warlords waged war against each other. This is when Sinthujan, the head of Karuna Amman’s Intelligence wing involved in the rape and murder of Premini was killed by Pillaiyan faction.

Karuna was in LTTE assigned to eastern province during the Aranthalawa massacres and was the special commander in chief when the massacres of surrendered 600 police personnel, and the massacres took place in Kattankudi mosque, Eravur, Samanthurai, Palliyagodella, & Gonagalla took place. All these couldn’t have happened without his complicity. Yet, no Sinhala or Muslim political leader has raised any concern about Karuna’s involvement and sought justice for the victims. It seems they have simply forgiven him for their own political survival and was quite content working with him for the national integration. Leave alone, the Sinhala political leaders, to whom Karuna has done a great favour of weakening LTTE and Prabhakaran, the Muslim leaders didn’t bother to question Amman about his bad deeds or even about his rampage of extortion from Muslim businessmen.

I am just an ordinary citizen with a very ordinary level of education. For me, this country, this society, the social values and above all, the legal system seems to be quite confusing. For example, the police is quite fast to arrest the masseurs working in spas (?), for prostitution, but they don’t bother about a warlord who went on a killing spree, abductions and extortions. In fact, they protect him and call him ‘Sir’.

In this country, one cannot imagine about bringing the security forces under the law for their atrocities against the minorities since they are called war heroes and enjoy an elevated position of ‘semi-god’ given by the majority Sinhalese people, and their atrocities are somewhat justified as a necessary measure in the fight against the LTTE. In the past, Karuna Amman has unleashed his brutality not only against the Tamils & the Muslims but also against the majority Sinhalese. Yet the Sinhala political leadership is afraid to take any action against him. Why? Is it because taking legal action would create a chain reaction, which would lead to all the information about the past atrocities of the state exposed? Thus if the security forces are ‘semi-gods’, Karuna Amman is above the god.

I believed this would change in ‘Yahapalanaya’. Now it is almost eight months since Maithripala Sirisena came to power. Yet there is no change. Yahapalanaya has miserably failed even to initiate actions against those who committed crimes against the citizens of Sri Lanka. It just keeps on promising that it will deliver the promised justice.

My question is that we all know who did it. Then, why we all keep pretending that we don’t know anything and just convince ourselves saying investigations are going on. Whom are we trying to fool? Those mothers who still believe that their sons and daughters are alive somewhere in this country? Or the human rights organizations? Or have we just become so much self-centred that unless otherwise some injustice happens to our own family members, we are reluctant to raise our voice? How long are we going to call those who abducted, raped, and massacred the Sri Lankan citizens as ‘Honourable Sir’?

Some 1500 years back St. Augustine of Hippo wrote “Without Justice, what are empires? They are a mere gang of robbers.” Right from the beginning (after independence) the ruling elites of Sri Lanka are a bunch of rascals and murderers. What more can we expect from them?

Ranil is proposing a domestic investigation of war crimes.. but what has his Financial Crimes Investigation Unit achieved in so many months of grilling corrupt politicians and stooges – Gota, Wimal Weerawansa, wife, Namal, Mervin Silva, Mahindananda Aluthgamage etc.?

The culture of impunity for politicians who are the biggest criminals in the country continues, while Ranil and MY3 run have a jumbo cabinet of clowns to spread the Immunity form Prosecution for corrupt parliamentarians around!

FCIU is turning out to be cheap publicity stunt for elections and, waste of public fund and nothing else. Either the FCID should be closed down now that Raniland MY3 have won or we need to see some politicians behind bars.

Now it is time for us to Grill FCIU and ask them what the hell they are doing since there has not been a single prosecution or conviction while the evidence is out there for all to see?!

Well, well Dinuk, how about this.. Ranil and MY3 are about have a Cabinet of 51 clowns in the name of a National Government for IMPUNITY FOR POLITICIANS. So much for good governance!

The clowns in the cabinet are the leaders of Sri Lanka’s most CORRUPT CASTE – politicians. This corrupt caste lives the good life, winning and dinning on our tax monies at the Diyawenna Parliament, while the stupid masses who voted for the corrupt and racist SLFP thugs cheer..

The culture of impunity for politicians whose “parliamentary privileges” Ranil loves to talk about is set to continue until this generation of politicians are six feet under!

To Quote Bishop Tutu After independence Gravy train slowed at the station for ruling whites to jump out & native elites to jump aboard. Nothing changed ever since other than after so many decades Lankans are still crossing the ocean looking for better life in the West.

I hope by saying “ruling elites of Sri Lanka” you are also including the ruling Tamil elites. At the recently concluded elections the leader of PLOTE, a tamil militant organisation which later became a paramilitary organisation under the Armed forces, was elected as a Member of Parilment under the Tamil National Allaiance flag with the 4th highest preferential vote count. Added to that the wife of one of the former PLOTE members was also given one of the two National List seats.

This organisation PLOTE (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People%27s_Liberation_Organisation_of_Tamil_Eelam) engaged in everything ranging from rape, kidnapping, extortion, murder to name a few. This organisation is famed for running an undergorund tortue chamber in Vavuniya as exposed by Amenesty International. Here is a short paragraph from the Amnest report:

In August 2009, a confidential source with links to Sri Lankan military intelligence provided Amnesty International with details of several places where enforced disappearances, torture, and extrajudicial killings were alleged. These included camps where the Sri Lankan authorities acknowledged holding alleged LTTE detainees as well as facilities used principally for interrogation including the 211 Brigade Headquarters in Vavuniya, and the paramilitary organization PLOTE’s detention centre in Vavuniya, which the source said contained a small torture chamber

And then here is a sample of their other misdeeds: Again from Amnesty Alert:

      Sivam Ashokumar (20)
      Arumugam Pakkiri (alias Jeya) (35)
      Two other men, names unknown

The men named above are believed to be held prisoner by the People’s Liberation Organization of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE), an armed Tamil group fighting alongside the Sri Lankan security forces. Amnesty International believes they are at risk of torture or “disappearance”. the relatives of both men have made inquires at PLOTE camps in the area including Malar Malagai, “Lucky House” and Kovilkulam. PLOTE members have denied that the men are in their custody.

The above are not the only evidence. In the report produced by UN Sec Gen Panel this organisation too was implicated in relation to the attrocities which took place during the last stages of the war.

The leader of this dastardly organisation belongs to a political party TNA which is demanding “Independant, International Investigations” against the Sri Lankan armed forces!. It is clear from the Amnesty investigation that this organisation took party in the very activities for which TNA is demanding an “Independant, International Investigations”.

So my point is do not ignore ruling elites within each community and their double games. They all have blood on their hands. None of them can claim higher moral ground as long as they harbour, reward and nurture murderes and thugs. As for the people who vote for them I will let Thomas Hobbs do the talking.

Birds of the same feather flock together.

The bird called Karuna Amman found the best of flocks in MARA/GORA THE MURDEROUS DUO. What more could you expect.

Now it appears that MARA is shedding all his pride and shame and kneeling and begging from MY3 and Ranil to save him and his family from all the Murder and Corruption Charges. Bloody shameless creature, who stooped to the lowest ebb to cling to power, is now begging to save him from justice.

Let us hope that the Yahapalanaya does not pawn the overwhelming mandate given by us the people, to protect this MURDEROUS FAMILY. There are a whole heap of grieving families waiting to see justice meted out for all the atrocities committed by this family.

MY3 and Ranil has no moral right to forgive the crimes committed by this MURDEROUS FAMILY, due to their closeness to the family now. Let MY3 recall the days he said he will be 5 feet below earth, had he lost the elections. Well there were so many other people who physically disappeared from planet earth and those families definitely need justice. That would also send a strong message to aspiring first families to obey the rules of engagement and live honourably even during their hey days.

We look forward to a new era and that is what we expect and nothing else. You two can get into history for turning the tide and making our beautiful country a true miracle of Asia and we can do it, without an iota of doubt with the diverse talent we have in our country together with our beautiful climatic conditions and natural resources.

Let us for heaven sake shed our differences and live as SRI LANKANS for the sake of our country and future generations to come.

RE: Hon. Karuna Amman – The One Even Above The God

“An interesting fact in all or most of the enforced disappearances is that the victims’ relatives know who the captors were. They can identify whether it is the police or the military or the Karuna Group or the EPDP or the LTTE. And most of the times, they know which camp the captors came from, sometimes they know the individuals involved in the enforced disappearances. Who said LTTE was “Disciplined” or Karuna was disciplined?

This is precisely what happens when thee is no Law and Order and the perpetrators know that they are unlikely to be punished.

Should not there be another mechanism., like the pistol squad to hunt down and punish those perpetrators individually?

    Kanthaiya

Your outrage against murderers, rapists and abductors is understandable.

Even if the government of the day does not punish them, they cannot escape punishment of the god.

You mentioned about Sinthujan, the one involved in the rape of Premini, being himself killed by the Pillaiyan group. Punishment by the god in that case had come sooner. That rape and killing of Premini was most despicable. Fearless journalist DBS Jeyaraj should be commended for coming out with full details of her rape and killing.

Prabaharan, who ordered the killing of many, faced death himself though how he was killed is still a mystery. That again was god’s punishment.

My one time neighbour’s son was taken away by LTTE cadres for being a supporter of EPRLF, killed and dumped in a shallow grave. His father later discovered his body and gave a proper burial. That father from that day onwards grew his beard with a vow that he would shave it off only when the killers of his son were themselves killed. That father happened to be a Poosari of the local Amman temple. Not many months later, god granted that father’s wish when the main LTTE cadre and his accomplices who killed his son were themselves dumped off by the IPKF when their underground hideout in a cemetery was bombed out. That was god’s punishment and the Poosari father,my former neigbour, shaved his beard off when he heard the news of the killing of the killers of his son by IPKF.

Take another case in Batticaloa. Those LTTE cadres accused by the Muslims of Kattankudy as the perpetrators of the despicable Kattankudy Mosque massacre were themselves killed by the SL Army at one time or another in one incident or another. God punished almost all of those who committed that crime committed in a place of worship soooner or later.

These incidents remind me of the saying that what you do to others shall be done to you.

      Naga

“Even if the government of the day does not punish them, they cannot escape punishment of the god.”

The problem with punishment by God is that it is random, delayed and often non-selective with a lot of collateral damage.

What is needed is a timely quick punishment of the culprits, and establish law and order.

So, if the authorities do not taker decisive action to punish the culprits, there be another mechanism, like the pistol squad to hunt down and punish those perpetrators individually.

There’s no evidence that such a God exists.
And the unanswered question is why would such an
omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent God not preempt such pure evil, and
prefer to mete out justice after the suffering.

Religions never provide any convincing answer. It falls to mankind
to evolve proper mechanisms to preempt atrocities, and if somehow such atrocities still go through, then ensure justice.

The fatalistic attitude you show above comes from a lack of moral clarity, which can only come from rationality coupled with a commitment to justice, not from religions.

And how do you reconcile your support for Mahinda Rajapaksa with the above? You were saying the TNA would lose in the NE. Hmm.

Oh the English colony its free people and its independance!

When Elizabethan England needed pirates to protect the Empire she was able to produce enough pirates to meet the situation and glorified them. In every period England was able to fight the right war, against the right enemy, with the right ally, on the right side, at the right time, and call it by a wrong name. England did not do it by logic, did they? They did it by their tentacles.

I have never been able to discover anything logical in English behaviour or in their national history, the historical growth of the uncatalogued constitution. The very strength of the British consists in the English lack of cerebration, in their total inability to see the other man’s point of view and in their strong conviction that the English way is the only right way and English food is the only good food. The moment the Englishman learn to reason and lose their strong confidence in themselves, the British will collapse. For no one can go about conquering the world or interfering if he has doubts about himself. You can make nothing out of the English attitude towards their Queen their loyalty to, and their quite genuine affection for a Queen who is deprived by them of the liberty of speech and is summarily told to behave or quit the throne…

The island built on passion not logic is never going to change.- keep playing cricket.

Kanthaiya, honored Sir, you are trying to find an explanation for the horrible atrocities you described, and lack of action from the Government.

To get some answers please read my comment under Ameer Ali’s CT article today titled “Scandalous Abuse Of National List Provision”.

Briefly, accept the dictum President is the Fountain of Corruption. You will then find your way.

Set a thief to catch a thief the saying goes, or set a murderer to catch a murderer. Set a terrorist to catch a terrorist.
Karuna the terrorist, helped destroy Prabakaran the terrorist sun god, and Mahinda Jarapassa and Gota ran white van terrorism too. That is war – a bloody horrid business and all of them need to be destroyed or put behind bars.. Also, Thajudeed and Lasantha and lots of others were killed too…

But today the yaya palanaya govt of Sirisena and Ranil are getting ready to have Cabinet of 51 clowns in order to perpetuate the CULTURE OF IMPUNITY for corrupt politicians in the DIyawenna Parliament of uneducated clowns and morons, while the SInhala moda masses smile and clap! I believe Katuna is still a Vice President of SLFP and holding a forged Passport issued by Srilanka Immigration Dept. He used it when he travelled from London to Sri Lanka with the knowledge of UK Immigration, after leaving his wife and children in Scotland . So Karuna is not alone in this game. Immigration officers from UK and Srilanka and Srilankan government are part of it.

    • 7
      0

      No that is not correct.
The UK Immigration Authority at Heathrow had found that Karuna was carrying was carrying a false pp.When questioned he was reported to have said that he came to the UK to see his wife and children who were there as refugees.
His entry into the UK was refused. He was found guilty for carrying a false pp and was convicted and following a term in prison deported back to SL.
But it is not clear if the UK government took up the issue with the SLG as to how an official pp was issued by the SL Immigration & Emigration dept., to Karuna under a Sinhalese name with his occupation as an Environmentalist.

Despite all the recent events where we have a new government, neither the government nor the people are truly content. Why? Because we all like sheep or cattle have gone astray. There are several million of our own people who yet voted for a party known to be corrupt and violent, we are still unable to decide on a suitable Cabinet, so many decision left in limbo etc etc.

There is a verse in the Holy Bible that says, “Innocent blood calls for vengeance”. This helpless young child was so inhumanely treated by a gang of thugs who are even today, after the recent election still not behind bars !! There is a God above who said, “Vengeance is Mine. I will repay”. If we as a nation will not take action, be assured that the great and awesome God of heaven and earth will do so, but there will be His wrath poured on the nation for our own short-comings. There is another verse that says, “Blood pollutes a land”. Our precious isle is polluted by innocent blood.

      “Innocent blood calls for vengeance”.

Did you stop to consider who wrote those words. Were the, the authors, responsible for multiple massacres of innocents when they arrived in Palestine (Canaan), and are therefore condemned by their own words?.

Today they play the role of ‘victim’, just like another group I know.

WHOEVER sheds innocent blood, he will be held accountable. I am talking of the shedding of this girl/child’s blood, not Palestinian or Jewish. WHOEVR, Tamil, Sinhalese, Muslim, British, German, Australian, Canadian, Russian etc etc etc. Innocent blood shedding is the killing of someone unworthy of being killed and innocent of any crime of a serious nature that calls for capital punishment. ALL are equal in God’s eye and He will eventually be the Righteous Judge. Make no mistake.

As for the authors who wrote these words, I assure you THEY are by themselves innocent. You display total lack of the knowledge of Scripture. Read first from start to finish and then comment.

LTTE or Karuna: all backward subeducated Savages pretending to be freedom fighters. All governments claimed they will bring justice to the 600 policemen who were ordered to surrender and then killed by TAMIL TIGER TERRORISTS. What has happened? Nothing. Karuna needs to be charged with that crime and if found guilty executed at Galle Face Green along with all the LTTE cadre responsible for murdering Neelan and Kadir etc. I do not buy the line that the Royalist who lived in that house where the Tamil sniper tigers hid to be innocent,

Hi TinPotJihadi you say “LTTE cadre responsible for murdering Neelan and Kadir etc” There were ample evidence on Neelan’s murder. But Kadir PCoI 2007 Could not throw any light neither Courts could not charge any LTTE men Then who did it? Surgeon who removed the bullets from Kadir’s Body mentioned that the Bullets was not from the sniper gun. This was published on a English paper in Srilanka following morning and then it was withdrawn. People who ordered this execution must be hiding their guilt.

As I wrote before, People who ordered Karthirgamar’s execution celebrated his death in London. They were exclusively Tamils.

“As I wrote before, People who ordered Karthirgamar’s execution celebrated his death in London. They were exclusively Tamils.”

Does it mean Tamils are culpable of this dastardly murder.

Please do us a favour, find out from MR and let us know.

    Dear Kanthaiya,

Your anxiety over the lawlessness is not a lone feeling, quite well represents that of entire minority communities.
I being Tamil have visited every corner of this tiny beautiful(?) island particularly before the “PHYSICAL” war was brought to an end (rather physically only)- what I gathered should console you and many others,
You must remember, Mahinda Rajapaksha, demanded the safety of KP, Karuna Ammahn and his son attached to the Navy from Ranil when he decided to leave official residence on the 9th January Morning 2015. Can’t you understand what all these manifests?
All what happened in the entire country since 1977 to 1009 was some out come of “Yatti Kooddu” and that is what I gathered travelling in the midst of war and that was my basis of witness to LLRC; a “Yatti Kooddu” between South and North East – the climax of extremism!

Mr.Kanthaiya,Doesn’t the TNA responsible for their complicity of the LTTE war crimes? And do you advocate them to be meted with justice as same as Karuna Amman.

Yes Mr Kanthaiya Karuna Ammam is a GOD and no action will ever be taken against him. It was Ranil with the help of RAW who made Karuna defect from the LTTE. So it would be naive to expect Ranil’s Govt to take any action against Karuna. He was “well a way” under the Rajapakse Regime and so would he be under the new Govt.
By the way what is happening to KP and the others?

India at one time was insisting that KP be handed over to facilitate investigations over the killing of Rajiv Gandhi it’s former PM and the SLG assured that he would be handed over, but all that has changed mysteriously, there is no pressure from India exerted on the SLG. any more about KP, and now everything has gone cold.
Perhaps Subramania Swami of the BJP could explain. He was the one who used to draw a red herring hint about a Sonia involvement and was a regular visitor to SL to see his pal MR during his Presidency.

The problem every right-thinking Sri Lankan has is — Where do we start? Do you start with the Alfred Duraiappah killings, Jaffna Library burning or 1983?

“Jaffna Library burning or 1983? “

But, the Jaffna Library was burnt by Gamini Dissanayake whose 2 sons are now MPs in the Yahapaalanaya govt. So what chance is there of exposure? Batalanda Ranil will do the cover-up like in the Great Bond Robbery case of Mahendran. Also ChandiBandi gave ample protection to her nondi Uncle Ratwatte, the murderer of innocent youth carrying ballot boxes, in broad daylight. One of his 2 murderer sons who jointly arranged the murder has also been elected and will certainly be considered for inclusion in the My3 govt. So, there is no hope. Only shit, shit and more shit on our faces.

    Ranil tells the international press:
“”Substance is what we have to look at. Actually even today, the devolved powers in Sri Lanka are sometimes more than the powers given in federal Constitutions. So let us look at how we could work this whole system out and go ahead. The formula which was accepted by India also, let’s see how we work it out within the 13th Amendment, maximise it.”

Movement overcomes cold. But staying overcomes heat.
So they by their limpid calm, puts everything under heaven.

Both Karuna and Pillaiyan were the blue-eyed boys of the Rajapakses.
The million dollar question would be whether they will continue with that status-quo under Maithri-Ranil governance? They have had their fill of wine, women and song!

Karuna, Thalaivar, Wigneswaran, Sambandan – We Thamizh will be We Thamizh, there’s not much one can do to change that. The funny thing is V Kaluthai and his ilk who are screaming bloody murder at Karuna now didn’t have a word to say when the same man was doing the same and far worse things under Thalaivar’s rule :D

He must be brought before the courts to account for the 600+ policemen killed.

If not, our culture of impunity continues. Yahapalanaya or not.

If he is found guilty and convicted, the Govt can consider a pardon or ask him to choose his poison.

He must be brought before the courts.

@Vishvajith – I echo your sentiments 100%. This scoundrel murdered 600 poor policemen in cold blood. He must have done this with VP scoundrel’s blessings. How does one kill 600 people in one day? How does one even kill one person? Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a thank you, the southern scoundrel MR gives him a ministerial post with body guards, what bloody joke is this?

The privileged class have gotten away with mass murder too many times. From the massacres of 1971 and progroms against Tamils and Muslims from earlier times to the present. There is a reason for this and it is our own history of bloody conflict where this land was raped by the invaders that started this trend. We learned from the masters i.e. the Portugese, Dutch and the British. When we got independence we decided to practice what we had learned from our lords and masters on our own citizens. Not once did we bring the culprits to book. They were considered our mates so mums the word. We are a clanish people. As long as the clan survives nothing it does can be condemned. We have to literally drill a hole and pour justice and fairness into our collective brains for it never sinks in. TO the Tamils, the Sinhalese are evil so whatever the LLTE did to the Sinhalese must be ignored. TO the Sinhalese the LTTE is evil and so whatever was done to the Tamils must be ignored. Oh and what the LTTE did to their own people who cares about them? No one. The same goes the other way around.

Like FCID there should be a unit to investigate Mass Scale Crime Against Humanity and the ideal opening candidates must be Gotobaya, Karuna, Pillayan and Major Shavindra.

@MirakRajBanda, let us also add Douglas Devananda for the murder of a mother and 2 daughters in front of the father in Manipay, Gen Kamal Gunanratne for the cold blooded killing of VP’s 13 year old child Balachandran.

It was truly terrible, what happened to that poor girl Premini. May she rest in peace.

What is the difference, however, of the atrocities of the LTTE, and the horror the UNP unleashed upon the poor Sinhalese villages during the insurrections?

Are poor Sinhalese lives of lesser parity?

    Uthungan,

Any idea why Karuna was sent on false op with a Sinhalese namegenuine namethe UK PM at that time ?
Blair or Brown ? Who were the foreign minsters of UK & SL then ? What was the role played behind the scene by GoRa ?
Will Maithiri- Ranil government reveal the whole story in the interest of genunie RECONCILLIATION ?
Why Mahinda included Pillaton and didn’t include Karuna in the national list . ?
