Former Police Spokesman Prishantha Jayakody who arrived in Sri Lanka today has said that he is willing to give evidence on white van abductions that were taking place during the Rajapaksa regime.

Speaking to the media, Jayakody had said that he was forced to flee to Australia due to threats by former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

“I was compelled to leave due to the severe political pressure I faced. When I refused to carry out their orders, I received death threats from Gotabaya and his henchmen,” he said adding even while he was residing in Australia, he was being threatened but added that the Australian government was proactive in providing protection for him.

Jayakody was suspended from service in 2013 after he abruptly left the country to Australia.

If Priyantha were treated that manner , how on earth we believe what that “Girava” SSP Ajith Rohana says about MR administration , he is on record saying ,”I always work according to my conscious “, Mr Ajith Rohana not only you are fully exposed now but also belong to MR era .

This is the reason why MY3 first day of his office itself expressed that it is not easy to find good ones among the overflown bad ones. i AJITH ROTHANA the nation’s peththappu had not been very biased to MR regime, but they then rulers wanted to do the job of police by such a personality. At least now, these men could start doing the job to the best -could save us all. Else, days are noW PASSING wiht not SHARKs being caught by them. Yesterday only I happened to watch minister of police addressing the issue directly with Polispathi. Hope the days ahead of us will be not good for Rajapakshe horunta.

tITLE OF the article says about white vanning but the content focused not a single word on the topic…
CT, are u at all concentrating on the issues clearly ?

It is a greater mistake that Police not yet searched issues related to Whitevanning and made it clear to the nation.

Alone that Wanathamulla SUnil abduction and set free after few hours could trace all stories. If not now, when would the current rulers bring all these THUGS before the courts ?

MR and the thugs will never be caught, because all the top officials have eaten MRs cake…..it has to be dealt with in dependant authority by getting information from the lower ranked pcs assuring them confidentiality and safety.

      Former Police Spokesman Prishantha Jayakody

RE: I Have Information On Whitevanning: Former Police Spokesman

      Thank you, sir.

We need to take Crooks, Robbers and criminals, CTCs, to face charges and face punishment, if found guilty.

May you achieve Nirvana or Nibbana.
      .
Within the Buddhist tradition, this term has commonly been interpreted as the extinction of the “three fires”,[4] or “three poisons”,[5][1][note 1] passion, (raga), aversion (dvesha) and ignorance (moha or avidyā).[1] When these fires are extinguished, release from the cycle of rebirth (saṃsāra) is attained.

This does not cotain anything about information on Whitevanning. Prima facie evindence only can do the work rounding them soon. Hope in the days weeks to come at least those men in action would do the job- which is fishing a shark on to their net. Now it is getting bored day to another not seen any of the Rajapapakshes are not yet caught ? What is with Basil ?
Why cant police search for him ? The day one of them are caught only, people will start drinking nektar to celebrate it.

How much longer must we wait for some action to be taken?

      7

May be Ruwan has leased them to his cousin Ranil, to o boost the latter’s actions on Sinhala Journos and their Bosses……

Ruwan Wijewardena may well be a nice guy.

However he is hardly a solution. Amply proven by Yoshitha Raja’s posting in his Dad’s security detail. After all crimes he is accused of.

Corrupt political elite feeds off each other at the top. Sri Lankans must realize this.

Long live the much hated culture of nepotism.

      Cheers!

PS: Ruwan W does not have the balls or the authority from his uncle to drag in Gota. Not even for a grave crime as serious as White Vaning people off the streets.

        Ben Hurling

“Ruwan Wijewardena may well be a nice guy.”

He would have been a nice if he hadn’t join the police department. Only crooks are recruited or become one after recruitment.

Its about the culture of the department and not about individual persona. If the policemen refuse to serve crooks and politicians they cannot remain in the department.

How many people have evidence? But the UNP part of Yahapalanaya in contrast to MY3, Rajitha, JHU, JVP etc are not that honest in ensuring accountability. Ranil, Ruwan Duo will have to take Gota (goata) a by his horns or balls at least now!! We have been waiting for his and Dumiyas arrest!umpire MY3 take the decision!

  • 19

If the decision is left to Ruwan Wijewardene, I would not hold my breath in this evidence being taken and acted on. Both Ruwan and that other joker Senanayake are a waste of space and poor examples of the families they come from. The former said yesterday that the floating armory of Gota was in order as it had a licence but that he is not sure who issued the license. He further permitted Yoshita to decide where he should work, whilst he is being investigated for a variety of irregularities relating to his recruitment into the Naval force, scholarships and being granted 3 months leave whilst being under interdiction. The latter Senanayake went after baby elephants and the moment it came to Gota’s baby elephant gave a pardon. In the past when corruption is exposed skeletons are found in the cupboards but with the MR regime, it is live elephants !! Such is the magnitude of the corruption.

Is the fate of our country wrests on these jokes and oxygen thieves ?? Isnt there any honest, educated people to take up these jobs. I salute the likes of Iran Wickremaratne, Sumanthiran who are honest and decent. After 67 yrs of independence we have produced none worthy of our respect.

Even the new govt is afraid to take head on the fraudsters of the previous govt and talks big about arresting MR’s cousin a mechanic turned manager of the presidential fleet.

Sad sad future for our country.

Yes, but if you are realistic, it is not easy to handle things in today s environment – even if the heads of the state was changed – no authorities in many of the depts are yet changed. And the other problems is searching for good ones are like hunting for mustard seeds from a place nobody died – in the given sitaution, Police though are asked to do the job – seems to be not active enough to round up the Rajapakshes.
It is also reported that Rajapakshe Mahinda has visited murderers in prisons yesterday. All in all, it will take few more weeks until the independent police commssions and other mechanisms get stronger to work against culprits.

sITUATION is not easy at all for anyone right at the moment with a weaker govt – which has no majority in parliament or among the people. And abve all – MY3 seems to be not using his executive powers even if he is demanded to do so.

Did anyone stop to think why Ruwan W was made State Minister of Defence?

There are other lucrative and high profile portfolios awaiting this young man who will certainly go places in this uncle- nephew party. Why not Finance,Education,Port, Aviation,Commerce or Tourism? Why was Ruwan W earmarked above others for this Defence portfolio?

The secret is that Ruwan’s father Ranjith Wijewardane is a top armaments importer over the last seveal decades.U.S.A does not export weapons directly to Srilanka but uses Pakistan as it’s proxy.Ranjith Wijewardane is Pakistan’s agent as well. They have to be war mongering in order to make a kiling(pun unintended). And what a way to enhance the family bussines other than to have a State minister doing the promotion from inside?

Just read State Minister Ruwan’s uncompromising and provocative speeches made in Army camps on his visit to the North and East.He will have to re invent the war if his family bussiness is to flourish.

Being an ex-Police Officer, he very well knows how he should act – make a written
statement to the CID. Does he believe that the Police will not act as Gotas name
will be mentioned? A criminal case may take years with our Black-Courts jumping in
for the big money. BTW our mighty Doc. Mervyn did this with due publicity! The quicker
you get about this is better, as the alleged accused are in advancing ages – their
family history does not point to longevity.

Trust SSP Priyasantha Jayakody will divulge all information he has and we as public expect the relevant Ministry either Defence or Innternal security to take urgent action based on evidence without draggjng their feet as it hasbeen happening so far.

I Ranil is the protector of Rajapakshas. He was called to see MR at the dawn of 9th January; they two have done a deal as I can see. Ranil cannot be trusted as he went to see MR alone. May be MR has a file on Ranil that may be still in his hands!

Did someone say the current President was the Defence Minister during the last stages of the War against LTTE Terrorism and the most senior Cabinet Minister in the last regime and the Gen Sec of the party which was in power?.

Will he an accessory, or at least guilty of being aware of a crime but not reporting it?..

Wonder whether the other Police heavy the IGP who is behind bars will spill the beans too, and take refuge down under with the same protection this dude seems to have from Aussie Police. against the Sinhala Diaspora ?..

I mean the Tamil Diaspora has no reason to cross swords with Prishantha…

This is a general statement by this ex police officer of the type that the public is getting bored with. If he wishes to win any credibility he needs to be more credible in the public domain – a list of incidents, dates, names of abductees, and names of people who issued the orders.

If he is concerned about naming the people who issued the orders he can give that item to a bold parliamentarian who can table the credible items in the House.

Till this Prishita Jayakody gets down to hard stuff that the likes of Ruwan Wijewardena and Ajith Rohana can’t sweep under the carpet I prefer to reserve judgement.

Prishantha Jayakody is not the only Public Servant who left the Country when faced with Death Threats, if they refused to comply with illegal requests made by Politicians.

Sri Lanka would have been a much better place to live in, if Politicians did not interfere in matters beyond their ‘comprehension’, for the sake of Bribes and other Perks.

Isn’t it public knowledge that Gota was the man behind the White van abductions and killings and ransome taking?

If this man has proof of Gota’s involvement will the police take action?

  • 3
    0

Criminal action could only be brought through AG and its never going to happen and in a criminal case the crown will have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. The families of the victims of white van as well as Thajudeen should file civil action for damages against the state and call (summon) the Ex-SSP as well as the influential lady in Australia as witnesses to they can be questioned under oath. In a civil case you don’t have to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt either.

Families should not wait for “Yahapalanaya”.

Until today we could not open this website, thank the government for allowing CT to reach many.

Investigation of the allegations of ex-SSP will lead to many disappearances. Before the architect escapes to his other home to US we must be able to throw the net.

He cant go to USA, he knows for a fact that its like jumping in a Lions den. He would face crimes against humanity, do u think he wouldnt have fled like Basil? The megalomaniac should have been arrested and then questioned……

Sadly he stated that HE WOULD REPLY TO THE QUESTIONS POSED BY THE CID AT A LATER DATE AT HIS CONVENIENCE… Now now, would the CID give any other citizen the luxury of being questioned at OUR homes and then expect answers at the time WE decide at OUR convenience HECK NO … IF this is Yahapalanaya, I think the wrong end is being served Yaha Palanaya not the citizenry, but the criminals, crooks plunderers… That’s why they are not taken into custody and WE are being hoodwinked. They all eat the same pie from the same plate while WE think they would serve us Justice… Nada amigos…

More likely he left because he got an opportunity due to the post he held. Not easy to just go off to Auss, where blacks and Asians have to pass a tough test.

Now he can get a bigger post under yahapalanaya, no doubt.

Time to get to the bottom of these mysteries, and solve these horrendous crimes. Now that the Lasantha murder, along with so many others will be looked into, the country should clear the air and bring justice for these victims. Whoever is behind these crimes, must be held accountable and brought to justice.
The Sri Lankan media and the people lived in fear, and those involved were protected by the previous regime.
We lived in a police state and the country was run by thugs, criminals, and uneducated goons.
    Bring on the investigations.

Govt to make another truth and reconciliation commission for Barathi’s, Lasantha’s, Thajudeen’s and many reporters and others that disappeared in Col and the suburbs, the accused is going to accept say sorry, shake hands and walk away.

I am sure the Sinhalese will be more than glad to do this because this is what they have been preaching to the Tamils.

      • 4
        0

I don’t think so , there is a chunk of population who want to see justice is done for the victims , this is not just for the Tamil people but for the whole Sri Lankan population ,who can possibly forget that infamous “Matale mass grave” ,incidentally there is only one name keep popping up as the main culprit for every single large scale human right violation in SL , keep Ranil out of the investigation , things will improve !

Well said Manel: “We lived in a police state and the country was run by thugs, criminals, and uneducated goons.”

And I will add one more group to this list: Monks who used the respect and the decency of the Buddhists, to exploit them.

People like Ruwan Wijewardena, Wasantha Senanayake do not have enough brains to catch this mega crooks. By appointing these people, Ranil’s and Maithripala’s intentions are very clear, they just don’t want to punch the crooks.

we know it already.when the poor relatives of abducted persons accuse that their children were taken by the state backed armed gangs nobody accepted. but now there is evidence.it is a tip of an iceberg.Infact, if you sincerely do an internal inquiry it will be proved that there was a major GENOCIDE has taken place. But we know that will not happen, but only to show the world a pseudo inquiry will be carried and will white wash the srilankan armed forces

not only white van but ,the transporting persons to australia also done by the past regiment. by that attempt to reduce the tamil populace in srilanka while collecting a grand sum from them. infact many have been taken to international waters by SL navy

    • 1

The human smuggling was done by Namal Rajapaksa who had his uncles support. They were in it together….. those sprats (Fishing Trawlers) who tried but in vain from Negombo and other places were caught at sea by the NAVY..ONLY the ones sent by NR’s catches “Slipped out of the Navy’s sight while they looked elsewhere” making way for them to reach international waters and beyond…

This the Govt of Australia got to know and they sent a delegation.. who also got to know the FACTS, but A deal was done by the OZ’s by way of lining the pockets of the Rajapaksas to see that further boats do not leave the shores of SL…. these are NOT mere accusations but FACTS… which IF investigated would be true… A whole lot were deported after paying huge amounts and were arrested on arrival in SL… Inquire from these victims… more light would be shed…

Ranil like his uncle JR is a Narya, he is coniving with MR now & has promised to help him out of all his missdeeds, he should never be trusted. The group that wants to bring MR back as Premier are the rouges to be investigated for fraud, murders, bribes, money laundering & illicitely making millions. Never trust a politician, all are crooks, no decent person ever wants to be a politician.
