Inauspicious Start For Impeachment Motion Handed Over At Auspicious Time

By Colombo Telegraph

The Politbureau of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party (LSSP) has instructed its national organizer and MP for Kegalle District, Y.G. Padmasiri to withdraw his signature from the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice, the Lakbima Sinhala daily reported today (03 November).

Inauspicious Start

LSSP sources confirmed the truth of the Lakbima story to Colombo Telegraph. A member of the Politbureau who spoke to Colombo Telegraph on the condition of anonymity said that the Politbureau had earlier decided that LSSP MPs should not sign the impeachment motion. However, after a meeting President Mahinda Rajapakse had with UPFA leaders, Minister Tissa Vitarana who is also the Secretary of the LSSP had unilaterally instructed MP Padmasiri to sign the motion. At the Politbureau meeting held on 02nd November, members had been highly critical of the Minister for overriding a decision of the Party. Sources said that Minister Vitarana had been greatly embarrassed and had apologized for what happened. Thereafter, the Politbureau had instructed Mr Padmasiri to write to the Speaker and withdraw his signature.

This episode comes in the wake of the Communist Party Special Congress that took place on 28 October resolving in a self-criticism that voting for the 18th Amendment was a mistake. On 02 November, the Politbureau of the CP had censured Minister Chandrasiri Gajadheera for signing the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice without its permission. Gajadheera had explained that Minister DEW Gunasekera had instructed him to do so. Minister Gunasekera had come in for severe criticism and the Politbureau has decided that the two CP MPs should obtain instructions from the Politbureau in future.

What happened to the Talisman he was carrying? Compare the two faces of RW and MR. MR has a beastly appearence and is gruesome, while RW has a serene and pleasant look, nothing indicative of being wicked.

What the hell re you bubbling here ? Can anyone be judged by just looking at him how his exterior appearence ? If I may say so, then all afro state leaders or once in some other countries should be cornered just because of their rough look ?

Man, what kinda arguments that you bring here ? Loving RW is understandable for private reasons, but I never thought as a 70 year old would bring this kind low grade remarks.

I too hate MR´s politics but not because of his looks, but not being able to digest his tactics, corruption etc.

Sundaree, by any chance are you also a contenderer to the post CJ? I am sure you must be looking like him, a Vana Sundaree to have been offended. Afterall we have had this Tribe Raja Yaksha from then. For your information, ‘Looks’ reveal, more than half your personality.

size matters and not looks. if looks are important then how come white women are pushing half caste kids in their pram. afro leaders may look rough for sundari but they have the fire power which wins the day.

Prof. Vitha and DEWG are just trying to survive the last few years of their life in politics. If the politicies of the two parties are honestly to refrain from signing the motion the politbureas should take disciplinary action against their leaders who themselves have signed the motion and instructed the others to do so. Why this double standards of these leftists who always tell the people of the double standards of the West on human rights and other issues. These apologists for the growing un-democtratic Govt. of Sri Lanka are the real traitors of the people.

Vitharana and DEW are like all other politicians. Even at this late stage they can not feel any love for our beloved country that they are destroying and no love what so ever for the people who have voted for them

This photo was taken in a temple. Looks like Rajapaksa is the devil incarnate trying to face down the Gods.

As regards the expired leftists in parliament, the less exposure they get in the press the better as there are irrelevant in today’s politics in Sri Lanka. They are there for selfish reasons only after they flushed their cardinal principles down the toilet.

Yes Piranha, the picture is at a Hindu Kovil. He must be remembering how many he has killed including Lasantha. The bugger appears visibly shaken as he can not cheat the Gods. He will die many a times before his death. He fully deserves it.

        gamini:

“The bugger appears visibly shaken as he can not cheat the Gods.”

In Saivaite tradition Bhakthi (devotion) is believed to redeem one from one’s past karma. MR was once an actor hence he was trying to fake an Bhakthi appearance to cheat not only the “God Skantha” at Nallur temple but entire country including the Tamils.

As an actor he was a flop but as a politician his acting is good. However people understand the difference between acting and true Bhkthi mode.

        You say:

“He will die many a times before his death.”

He might fake his own death to escape natural justice. There could be a poetic justice, who knows?

The President looks like a villain in a Tamil Movie The Sinhala Buddhist supremacist posing with a Hindu Pottu exposing his half naked body like a ‘PERIYA SWAMY “. The Astrologer has got his Auspicious times mixed up. Was it GMT. IST OR Medamulana standard time the man was refering to.In any case a few “Vas Kavi” against the CJ may do the trick Gods willing.

You cannot judge people on external appearances only their actions reveal their true character.
LSSP Politbureau is taken a commendable decision, a principled stand and a vote of conscience. Hope our other politicians too realise their folly and the trust they betray by pandering to the wishes of this unprincipled junta.

The former leftists ‘sold their souls to the devil’ when they became appointed MPs.
Vitarana who authored the APRC report, should have resigned when it was rejected by MR.
DEWG is unable to take legal action against swindlers exposed by COPE. He too, shpould have resigned.
The mystery is the “improper behaviour” of the CJ.
    WHAT is it?

Those SLMC members from Eastern Province voted with the Govt. for the Divi Neguma bill despite the Party policy, and were re[rimanded by the party hgherups after the damage was done.
Now some leftist mininsters have voted and asked other MPs to sign the motion to impeach the CJ. despite their Party policy.
What is the reason – Is it some magic of the President OR the fear of those individuals for their lives????

      Dear Godaya,
It is fear of course.Today anyone can be attacked on any highway at anytime,or can be ‘diappeared’,or abducted.
Police are of course clueless.Politicians who are alleged murderers walk free – eg.Sampath Chandrapushpa who, with his gang, killed a UK tourist, and raped a russian female tourist in a Tangalle hotel. No case yet.

SLMC Chairman, Basheer Segu Dawood, too has signed the motion. SLMC has too has no clear thinking and has lost its way just trying to survive.

Look alike VP and MR. How close they look in bare body. All opposition MP’s joined Govt. are grasshoppers jumping for the greed and nothing but the greed for money and perks for family members. They could be bought over the counter like pigs.

From ancient times our people fought for their kings and what they believed in.

VP and MR are both sons of the soil, they both have the same look/feel. True street fighters, both gave as good as they got.

VP knew he was set for a political trap by the serene and pleasant looking ( Gamini ) RW, came out fighting as a street fighter, only to meet his match with the other street fighter.

Both have a place in our history.

This is another circus by the DEAD LEFT.

The last time the LSSP Polibureau took a decision to vote against the 18th Amendment – Vitharne shamelessly raised his left hand at voting time.He continues merrily without his party’s reprimand for this trecherous action.

It will be the same this time too.

Both the LSSP and CP have no spine to stand upright – only to bend over backwards at the Rajapakse bidding. The same applise to Vasudeva as well.

What else can poor Tissa V do? We have to understand his plight. His consultant and chairman of national science foundation Sirimalee will have to get back to the university, where she will not be welcome and will not have friends. Tissa will not be able to go on foreign trips with his consultant to learn about scientific affairs worldwide, like to extended trip they did to the Spanish coast recently to learn how old marine fish still manage to be virile. The regime knows all this and gives permission and money for these trips. So, he has to pay back. Let us please understand him.

All our leftists have became strong rights long ago and they are now for their own survival and do any thing for this purpose.Vasudeva is playing a cunning role to show that the MR regime is allowing him to not to sign the impeachment as they respect freedom of speech and democracy but he will secretly support the move of MR for his own survival as in the case of 18th amendment.in which he caste for his vote in favor of it at the parliament.

He looks like a butcher! And rightfully so too! How many has he butchered by now? 6000, 40,000, 100,000 or more? Definitely the disappeared 6000 plus persons fall into his account, then 40,000 figure of Tamils killed in the last stage of war too is a reasonable estimate which too goes into his account! Such a butcher showing his senile boobs to God!#? OMG the god must have escaped from the back door seeing him creep into the church or temple! But definitely he cannot escape the guillotine of law when he loses his post and the simmering inferno after his death!

MR is not the only butcher. Sri Lanka in the past and present was/is blessed with qualified practicing butchers Mrs Bandaranayake, JR, Premadasa, VP, Rohana Vijeweera, Somawansa………..Fonseka, …….GR,……….

Therefore your accolade should be lavished on all these super humans. Your accolade to MR seems favouritism towards a single leader. It is unacceptable.

Vedda, what about the others like Hitler, Pol Pot et al? What about the rest of them from the beginning of man on earth? Do you possess historical records about your own ancestors and what they have or have not done for thousands of years? As for those already dead no use of talking about and wasting our valuable time, as for those who are irrelevant for the issue at hand the same applies, as for concrete real problems and issues we face today that is what matters and all the others except you are concerned with! Karmic forces will automatically have their effects on the individuals depending on their good and bad. We can’t possibly do anything about issues which are beyond our control and hence we are not going to refer to all the similar sorts of yet unrelated issues to us in the present day context. Your comments have informative value, also raises concerns about your own past kith and kin and we feel the emphasis on the importance of focusing on the current issues.
