The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has strongly condemned the attack on Jaffna High Court Judge Illanchelliyan.

Issuing a statement today he said: “We urge the Inspector General of Police to bring the perpetrators of this incident to justice and to investigate the conspiracies behind this incident.
“While we strongly condemn these kinds of violent attacks on the administration of justice, we are gravely concerned that the incidents of crime in Jaffna peninsula have reached serious levels. Further, it also raises serious doubts as to whether those who want to gain benefits out violence are behind this attack.
“This situation must be arrested immediately and we request all concerned to cooperate to bring these kinds of incidents to an end.”

It is not possible that Swiss Kumar has all that money now to pay the dregs. But the rest of what you have said is true. Almost all those who are now locked up charged with the rape and murder of Vidya are those who were associated with DD’s EPDP. That is the opinion of most of the locals in Punguduthivu.
As for the recent assaination attempt of the judge hearing the case it must be remembered that there were many requests and demands that the case to be heard in Colombo which was not received well by people in the North not only because the offence committed came under the jurisdiction of Jaffna district but also but also because of the inconveniences for witnesses to travel to testify and other valid reasons considered irksome by the Attorney Generals department for transferring the case for hearing in Colombo.
Judge Illanchelian says that the gunman seemed quite skilled in plucking the pistol from the policeman and using it to shoot. That is what is important here.
The fact he did not succeed in hitting his target in the skirmish and how he had been allowed to escape on a motor bike he was able to take over very opportunely is another important aspect here.
Was it by design, plan or mere luck ? Understand a DIG of police is in custody on the orders of this judge!

Some of the serving Sinhalese army officers were concerned about the newly recruited Gota’s boys from Pottu Amman’s department. The army officers have to be doubly careful of their actions. Gota got information from his new boys on a regular basis.
What are these Pottu/Gota boys doing now?
There is a growing believe in Jaffna, Colombo, Batti, Kandy among many informed people that there is a powerful Mafia (a net work or Free Masons) based somewhere in Colombo protect the crooks, murderers, rapists, criminals etc….. irrespective of their affiliation. Once a Sinhalese policeman told me that his department knew the people who regularly smuggled Kerala Gancha into Jaffna (from where it is being distributed through out rest of the country). Police arrested the low level smugglers and taken the vehicle with large quantity of stock to the police department. Within a day or two smugglers were released, vehicle with the stock was returned to the smugglers, and that was the end of the story. In the meantime someone went to Colombo and got clearance from high up.
In Mannar policemen complained they wanted to honestly serve the community but because of the corrupt and powerful policeman well connected to the top they are unable to deliver what the ordinary people expect them to deliver.
At some courts the prosecutors, court officials, defence lawyers and policeman have formed a cartel, hence price of justice is being fixed by it. The price does not necessarily mean financial reward.
You may be a honest man but what about your neighbour, friend, relative, colleague, …… friend’s friend, may be your mistress’s (if you have one) brothers, …..?

I have lived in Canada for decades, when did this ever happen? The Canadian army has been sent in only when there was a snow storm, which the city workers could not handle. To help (clear the snow) them, the army was sent in. Canada is not a police state idiot. The Canadian police at various levels is in charge of domestic matters including domestic abuse. Now I see how you make up things in your pea sized brain. Wow, what a stupid fellow.
Also when was the army deployed in west London in relation to drug crimes. That was in Jamaica a few years ago. These are 2 separate countries. When the child abuse claims spiked in Vatican, Italian army was sent there this year. Oh, really. Vatican is a separate state idiot. The Pope is the head of state. The Italian army will only be sent in if the state is threatened by a foreign power.

Why are the five policemen who shot dead two undergraduates not yet indicted?
Does this not show the level of enforcement of justice in the north?
No news either, of the policeman who shot dead a man riding on top of a pile of sand alleged to have been ‘scooped’ illegally, being produced in a court of law.

Where Justice live people are shot unnecessarily, but low is used to defend them. In Sri lanka police, at that instance, had all the rights to shoot at them when they were riding the motor bike at them. I think there i smore to it.

The law and order situation deteriorated rapidly from 2009 when Maj Gen CA Chandrasiri was appointed Governor of NP. Prior to that alcohol was under strict control and drugs nearly never on the market. From 2009, drugs were openly sold near check points. People with money had their way in disputes.
Strange Sumanthiran never raised the deterioration in the social structure before. As a lawyer he should know that law and order can be upheld only if the prosecution is evenhanded. The police have already said that the assassination attempt was NOT premeditated – a drunk civilian able to use a police revolver dropped by a policeman to shoot at two policemen! My my my foot.
The tragedy is the death of one policeman. Up to now political leaders have not expressed outrage.

The shooting at Nalloor appears to be a spontaneous sudden incident instigated by alcohol. Neither planned nor targeted the Judge. The Judges statement was wrong,lie , false and misguiding. This is a very good example how the media distort, Fabricate and buildup the news and emotionalize the public. The judge may be sleeping in the van and suddenly woke up to make the statement. The solitary Police officer should not have gone too close to the men there. He was careless about his responsibilities and would displayed the police arrogant mentality and acted in such way. The judge concealing the fact and be prosecuted for it.
The judge could have sympathized to the victim and said sorry. A kneeling down and apologizing is wrong and inappropriate . Was it by his mistake the victim Died to apologize. A body guard duty is high risk one and should be ready to accept causalities. An excellent Drama staged at the precinct of Nallooor Temple. Shame to the Legal and Justice fraternity.
