Is Choice Limited To Heartless Gota, Hopeless Ranil & Clueless Sira?

By Kumar David

Prof. Kumar David

Sun Tzu say: “If you know enemy and know yourself, no need fear hundred battles. If you know yourself but not enemy, for every victory you suffer one defeat. If you know neither enemy nor yourself, you succumb in every battle.”

First the Easter carnage and after that mob riots have put a different focus on upcoming elections. The presidential falls due between 15 November and 15 December and it seems our choice is limited to an alleged war criminal or a non-achiever; clueless Sira, now monkeying with geishas in Japan, is not a serious starter. Mob violence evokes bitterness among Muslims, one writes: “There is evidence police in affected areas are not protecting Muslims. The majority, themselves Sinhala Buddhists, want to join the melee. Rioters should be shot but electoral benefit will go to the Rajapaksas who incite extremism”. While it is true that SLLP and the Paksa-Brotherhood did encourage SB extremism and collude with the dregs in the past, to be agonizingly fair, there is no evidence the Brotherhood or the SLPP did by word or action encourage the post Easter Sunday mobs; at least I have so far seen no evidence and it is unjust to convict on reputation alone. Let us hold our tongues unless real evidence comes to light.

I have concerns because there is talk of “a hidden-hand” or “a black-hand” moving mobs into riot torn areas from outside and there is fear that a higher power may be behind military collusion with goon squads such as here (Colombo Telegraph).

Monks help clean up a bombed out church

One is justified in fearing that goons from, say Kulyapitiya were moved to Minuwangoda to burn and loot, while a reverse movement creates mayhem in Kulyapitiya, and so on. Muslims whose shops and homes were gutted say: “Our families have been living here for generations. We have been educated at Sinhala schools. It’s very unlikely that the villagers orchestrated this attack”. Another from the village who lost everything said: “It was our Sinhalese brothers and sisters who helped us in this situation. We don’t believe anyone from our neighbourhood in Kuliyapitiya was involved”.

It is impossible to transport and switch goon squads around without connivance of the guardians of “law and order”. So is there a black-hand fermenting trouble? If so who is the likely suspect? The Army Commander will much better serve the nation if instead of “humbly” begging rioters to stay off the streets he can get his men to do their duty with firmness! Major Prabhath Bulathwatte, commander Tripoli Military Intelligence Platoon, allegedly responsible for assassinations, abductions and attacks on journalists has been recalled to active service by the Army Commander. Is the Sri Lanka Army incapable of ensuring sound intelligence without depending on rotten apples out on bail? “Kadavule!”

In my column last week I did insist: “Lanka will heal and recover more quickly than Cassandras and prophets of gloom predict. I detect fine-tuned judgement in people’s minds and more caution in jumping to conclusions. This is not July 1983 when Lanka was a JR-inspired cannibal. We have learnt our lesson and the mood is different. Jihadism will not defeat us; it will not overpower the Muslims. It will be eradicated, it has no indigenous roots, its eschatology is of foreign provenance. Those baying for Muslim blood and the rabble rousers will be vanquished”. For this I was rebuked, “Wishful Thinking is the Mother of Delusion”; however, though a little dampened, my optimism remains. Buddhist monks are visiting and helping clear up debris in bombed churches, mosques have offered to open their doors to Cardinal Ranjith, there is widespread indignation at both jihadist killers and racist goons, and I note that ‘Comments’ in Colombo Telegraph on rehiring Bulathwatte express near unanimous outrage. Such things we did not see in 1983. Come on Lanka, let’s vanquish the prophets of gloom; let us prove that we are not deluded!

Firmness will restore order on the streets within hours but as Sumanthiran lamented: “It is of particular concern to hear reports of attacks taking place during curfew with security forces not taking steps to stop the violence”. Quite justifiably and forebodingly he added “If people think that government and security forces are unable or unwilling to protect them, they will defend themselves. Don’t let that happen! Don’t let yet another community feel that to survive it must fight for its life”. Sinhala racists, the compromised armed forces and the government are, by inaction, laying the ground for a repetition of the Tiger story. We the people must turn back this time bomb.

This brings me to the matter promised in the title of this piece. Gota, Ranil and Sira are worse than useless. The first is an alleged war-criminal, a white-van fan and a danger to Tamils and Muslims; the second is effete under fire (Mrs B had bigger balls) and the third is a moron. Realistically, that in purely electoral terms, unfortunately is that we will only have a choice between Gota if he gets the US to confirm his citizenship dump, and Ranil. If that be the case how should one vote? I mean the second preference vote, no ways should any in this deplorable triumvirate get a first preference vote. This is a topic I will return to nearer the date and after Gota’s citizenship puzzle is clarified.

The thrust of my title is that in the first instance (first instance means before reflecting on the second preference vote) we must eschew all three in this good-for-nothing triumvirate. We must put up a New Alternative, a candidate who can reflect ‘the fed-up voter’, those who rallied to the January Eighth Movement of 2015, the Left, the Liberals, the Democrats, the TNA, Mano Ganesan, women’s and non-governmental bodies, the and if it joins, the JVP. It’s not at all too early to call a Unity Forum(s) to take up the idea. Of course we won’t win or come second, but Rome was not built in a day and I daresay the builders toiled for a while before the job got done. If the people in their majority choose Gota, Ranil, or some other rascal nominated by the SLPP or UNP, well they will suffer for five more years but the effort to get past such obstacles has to start now and the builders have to be patient and tireless. Many people say this, but a concrete call for a Unity Forum has yet to be issued.

A threat to the constitution and to democracy – are military and black-hand smacking their lips? – has been aired in recent weeks. The safeguard is mobilisation of the people. Mobilisation in this context is to extensively discuss it, vigorously oppose the concept in the media, and in the worst case oppose it with a general strike. The three blind mice of the triumvirate will not mobilise the people to meet this threat; my putative new initiative can include this task on its agenda.

A core element in the programme has to be rejection of ethno-politics, that is slavery to identity obsession. Eradication will require intervention on many fronts; education, creating a new consciousness and changing the constitution. Embedding religion (the so-called rightful place of Buddhism) and special mention of Sinhala in all constitutions since 1972 has encouraged a narrow and profoundly divisive state of mind in the people. A plural, democratic, modern and progressive philosophy cannot be stimulated in the country unless the Chapter on Buddhism is repealed by assertion of secularism and all differential or unbalanced references to language are removed. None of this is going to happen overnight but it is time to boldly place this on the agenda. No one in the good-for-nothing triumvirate will dare say any of this.

Who settled for less? Sirisena was whose choice? Not mine. Ranil was whose choice? Not mine.
Not only the next President, but the Prime Minster should also be a Sinhalese Buddhist and as much as possible, Sinhalese Buddhists should elect Buddhist MPs to Parliament, irrespective of party or colour.
There were non-Buddhist, I mean converted-Buddhist Presidents and Prime Ministers before. But they all respected Buddhism and accepted that Sri Lanka is a Sinhalese Buddhist country. No other President or a Prime Minister tried to convert the country into secular or no other political party, other than UNP stated that Sri Lanka is not a Buddhist country.
Sinhalese Buddhists should NEVER vote UNP ever again.
Last year and this year both, they have suppressed our right to celebrate Vesak.
UNP put up many obstacles to avoid people conducting Dansalas. The reason is to give priority to Muslim fasting period which is usually observed quietly, which coincides with Vesak.
UNP suppressed Buddhists from performing the Fist Pillar of Dhamma out of Three Pillars, which is Daana.
UNP have done enough damage to Buddha Sasana.
          They have humiliated us enough.
          They have hurt us enough.
UNP should be deleted from Sri Lanka’s political history.

The statement is an expression of frustration. The suggestion is more a figure of speech and no proposal.
But the way we are going the country will become a slave to vested interests in the name of national security.
Rather than be angry about the protest, think how we can make this country work as a people of diverse identities.

It is because of the foreign intelligence services here they unearth arms and explosives NOT
Because of SL Sinhala Cardboard forces and police.

Reports are coming saying Lake House and CWC vehicles were used to transport relatives of Musulim Terrorists and weapons regularly ..so 98% of Musulims were aware about this terrorists plans.

Soon Jaffna will taste another IPKF like basing by Indians and the Americans. Remember Okinawa, Chagos, Jaffna (1987 – 89)?

I don’t oppose it. Never opposed IPKF in Jaffna. They showed how a military must act in Jaffna. We should have kept them longer.

Trinco may also have a navy base by them.

Buddhists in my country celebrate vesak in SL today. Even if they have become buddhist followers by their birth, not many would respect even 5 precepts. So the real buddhistic way of life has been destryoed so far in this country. Be a drug trafficker, serian killer or vicious politicians they are known to be born buddhists. Most of them and their activities in temples are displayed over the TV screens. Even first citizen of the country, incumbent president mastered a political crisis in last Octoboer, although he has been seen a the champion to issue consecutive number of public statements about being very buddhist. People across the country strongly believe the riots inflicted on muslim SRILANKENs at the begining of this week in some areas in the country were a master plan of former president Mahinda Rajakshes, who is very often seen to be visiting buddhist temples. Those who had been supporting them are too seen very often in most sacred kandy temple and severral other temples in th ecountry.
All in all you guys will notice that most among the buddhists seen on the screens of lanka are just buddhist hypocrites. That has just become an event them to just take part. Bein gon the way to kill the next on the list, they are used to wear a thick bands of pirith chanted threads (pirith nooles)… all what I am saying is… all these are just BUDDHIST HYPOCRITES that deceive themselves. These people are champions of superstitious beliefes. If neigbhouring living piyadas would eat COW dung for selfish gains, you too would easily get caught by that. They never question twice before going to do anything. Such a stupid folk… I am ashamed to be SINHALAYA:

Most of you (including Prof David) make the classic mistake of using the wrong criteria to evaluate Lanka.

If you want a rational unemotional evaluation of the country ………….. evaluate it like a company you would, if you are going to invest $5 mil of your own money ……… and you don’t want to lose all of it.

You would look at the balance-sheet, levered free cash-flow, debt to equity ratio, intrinsic-value …………. and a whole heap of other measurable quantitative criteria …………

And qualitative criteria ……….. You would look at the management team, the client base (why all the Sinhalese-Buddhist clients/consumers would kill to leave the Sinhalese-Buddhist country to go and settle down in non-Sinhalese-Christian countries – the reasons, I don’t know; you tell me? You are the experts! ……. Now, now, no need for abuse please. Control ye emotions, to quote ye boss The Great One; Buddha.)

The share price of a company will have long term growth only if it’s levered free cash flow (owner earnings) increase/grow with time ……….. it will not increase if the clients/consumers won’t buy what it’s selling ……… and worst still if they are abandoning ship in droves.

There ye have it. That’s ye future dear dear brothers and sisters.

It’s free! …….. Please donate the fee you would’ve paid the future-teller ol’ Sumandasa to your favourite charity.

If ye still want to put ye hard earned money on the company ……… be my guest. ……… the list is long ….. South Sea Bubble, Tulips, Bitcoin, Enron, WorldCom, my uncle Bernie Madoff ………..

BTW …… I’m very proud to be related to Bernie ……. unlike the security guard Gota he is a true professional and played in the big league ………. miles better than Gota, Mahinda, Ranil, Sirisena ……… how much did those kindergarten clowns make with their rackets and compare that to Bernie’s ………

          Namal Fernanado,

          Good on you, mate.
This must be the first time , I have read something about Srilankan Economy , Fundamentals of Company Stocks , and the word Investing although Dr Ranil and his UNP has been in for over 4 and a half years.

What surprised me is , a bloke who seems to know so much about Stock Analysis and even related to Bernie didn’t. know our Dr Kumars and others were using wrong criteria to evaluate Srilanka.

Where were you in 2015 when the main criteria was Rajapaksa Hora Hora ,
Rajitha and Son saw USD 18 Billion stolen Money in Arabia.
and Mangala Samare the close buddy of Dr Kumar got the intelligence Reports from his buddies in America .

But the Lankan Economy was going gangbusters at 8% plus growth…

BtW, Just keep this to your self..

“But the Lankan Economy was going gangbusters at 8% plus growth”

Are you for real? :)) Man, go back and see how the Rajapakses cooked the books; GDP figures etc. ……… this happens in the USA as well when they were printing and pumping money in, the FED stopped publishing the M2 (money supply) to keep people in the dark.

Most countries, to get the economy rolling – after a calamity; deep-recession, war – starts investing heavily in infrastructure. That’s what the Rajapakses did but invested in unproductive crap in Hambanthota. But Katunayake and Southern highways are good and will eventually pay for themselves.

JKH was good but now there’s very little scope for growth. My parents bought at the IPO and soon after; topped up along the way during the war-years and now that’s a tidy sum. I’m not interested in Telcos too much capital outlays from time to time to keep up with technology – unless it’s a quick buy and sell.

I don’t want to invest in SL, I don’t know what to do with the little money I already have there. Perhaps I’ll donate it for an “International School” for the Buddhist Priests …….. if Native is willing to contribute the major share.

I don’t see any growth stocks in SL but there are some in neighbouring India ………… there is a guy named Mohnish Pabrai check him out he invests in India and his picks are usually quite good. He picked US airlines before Buffett.

“a bloke who seems to know so much about Stock Analysis”

I haven’t even walked past an Economics/Investment lecture/class ………… just things I’ve picked up from reading and investing.

            “related to Bernie”

Ah! that’s a bona fide hero! A guy to look up to! He had CLASS! Compare him to your heroes the bumbling, murdering two-bit crooks the Rajapakses (no class; pure Mafia …… buddy) ………. and Ranil, Sirisena

As your own comment proves, you are not a Sinhalaya or a Buddhist.
If Buddhists were blood thirsty hypocrites, not a single Tamil or a Muslim would have lived in Sri Lanka. They are lucky that they live in a Buddhist country where the majority is Sinhalese.
You have forgotten that the majority of the two minorities live in the South among Sinhalese, not in North and East among Tamils and Muslims.

I dont need to rebuke to a woman whose everything is caught by force by RAJAPKASHE rascal political mantra. Nevertheless i thought to add the two cts, consideirng CT readership.
          :
What I meant above is almost over 90% of so called buddhists, not even smaller portion of them would behave buddhist…. be them ones wearing SAFRON robes or their adherents, both are champions of high crimes. They are just superstition followers. As said above, if Hakgediya would be believed to give them any fortune, they are ready to swallo it on “one go”: No matter calcium cabornate would NOT have been digested in their systems. Please be honest; Champawathie, you may have collected bad exp in this life, but that should not always guide you to mislead the masses that are proved to highly vulnerable in this island. Just imagine, if anyone would go bending down head before a monk whose records are overflown to be racists, rapists, thugish in all forms, you as a buddhist follower, have no guts to deny, but to fall your head down the way others do so.
Last time what happened to me was, before the so called sacred shrine of Kelaniya Temple, people of all walks, got crowded for listening to some BANA or PIRITH and PIRITH NOOLE….. but I too had to follow it since my relatives advised me to do so. On my return home, I questioned myself thousand times as to why I should just follow the others…. all these are learnt to me from my stay out of the country for the last few decades.
But those who lived like frogs in a well, would not have the vision to see it that way.
Please CHAMPAAWATHIe, come to sense, just dont try to mislead your PAY MASTERs, even if you feel so indulgent to their agendas yet today.

Learn to talk to the point.
If you are out of points to counter-argue, admit it, without attaching Rajapaksas to my comment.
For your information, Sinhalese were followers of folk religion before they embraced Buddhism.
Who do you think you are to judge Buddhists?
And what do you think the way Buddhists should behave?
Do you expect Sinhalese to keep their mouth shut every time there is a threat to their existence in their own country?
Lord Buddha has never put any rules to laymen but preached people to follow the Three Divisions of Paths, i.e. Wisdom, Conduct & Concentration – The Eightfold Path, to end human suffering, which takes a very long time, a Samsara.
Bana Sermon is a Buddhist tradition which is a way to reinforce Lord Buddha’s teachings.
Pirith is chanted to protect people from unseen and seen evil forces. The power of Pirith lays in the sound. In ancient days, Pirith has been used to chase away harmful animals, even elephants from damaging crops.

Teachings of Lord buddha, the real Buddhism talks about PEACE AND NON-VIOLENCE.
          .
But sinhala Buddhism talks something totally different – which is how to look down upon the other

1). They the politicians obviously do nothing, since they depend on the MINORITY votes
          2) The struggle is between winning the minority by hook or crook –
          a) Extremists led by FORMER President Ballige putha Rajaakshes has not put his signature on the list in which according to them over 62 have been signed off for a NCM against most speculating MINISTER Richard Badiudeen
Nor has Kumara Welgama or others been in the list
          .
          3) But Ballige putha and his forces loudly cry about the Minister has to have done whole lot of wrong things that could clearly prove his unreliable nature.
          .
          4) Sirisena the man who has caught by his horns by RAJAAKSHES these days, has been lying one behind the other, not being able to see it right.
People are well aware of the fact that the man is the silliest, stupidiest got elected by lanken folks – however the good thing he has done is, come forward to drive away ballige putha Rajakshes.

It has been proved again and again that a Military under a strong Military leadership is what is essential to Sri Lanka, no matter who is in power.

“Is Choice Limited To Heartless Gota, Hopeless Ranil & Clueless Sira?”

Forthcoming election is not going to solve the main problems of Sri Lanka:

It will continue as a third world country muddling through; can’t even supply basics such as electricity, water, etc. to all its citizens. Poor people continue to struggle for three meals a day.

Peace will be elusive as along as equality, rule of law and justice are not ensured impartially to the minority communities.

With the armed forces colluding with the Sinhalese rioters and marauding monks when damage and destruction are inflicted on the minorities, how can you expect peace?

Most important of all, the ruling politicians, whoever being elected, will follow the unjust commands from the Mahanayakes and the Buddhist hierarchy, Sri Lanka will not be able to have lasting peace or progress with this kind of religiously-dictated majoritarian rule.

Will the Sinhalese Buddhists learn the lesson West learned a long time ago to separate religion form politics?

      Buddhist,
I found real buddhist only in Europe and California.
I also have noticed so called buddhists monks from SL, but travelled with their hora ganis ( sex partners)
      :
We also notice those politicians lick the SRIMAHA BODHIYA TREE until their TONGUEs would become that of Kabaragoyas are the high criminals. Best examples you will all see from Rajaakshes family.
Father, sons, brothers, all are alleged to have perpectrated MULTIPLE high crimes, but so long their SATAKAYA is around their necks and penises, they are considered as real buddhists. Even this weeks attacks on ULTRA INNOCIENT MUSLIM SHOP KEEPers in those mentioned areas are a premeditated act of Rajapakshe clan.
All is said about intelligence and the repsective investigations are being done, but as usual, the kidnapper of Rajaapakshe none other than incumbent president would not release ” so called report once it is released by those authorities”. These reports are kept wthin his sarong to abuse his power on and on.
As per me, on this sacred dayin scared srilanka what they have to do is – to LOCK up SIRISENA and Rajaakshes to leave SOME PEACE to this land.

It is Hobson’s choice for Sri Lanka. It is a pity that we have to choose between Dumb Dumber, or Dumbest. There is no viable candidates to run for the leadership of this country. Whether it is from either party, the all come with big promises, and deliver nothing.

Tara, Do not be so pessimistic.Remember what Narasingha Rao told the Newspapers, when the Govts in India were falling by the day- Do not worry stability will c ome.-stability cam with manmohan Singh ex Professor of economics at cambridge, Ex Asst Sec UN

We must go for new face, but expect him to make mistakes, mistakes he will make since he is new. See what has the people who had been in this game since 1977 done- sweet nothing.

We must have an idealist, a man who believe that we can do it, without help of outsiders.

This theory that FDI is the solutioin is cod’s wallop. What the FDI would do is to make our people servants to foreign money.I doubt that our people will succumb to that, there is proof of that – large number of youth who had taken to self employment driving three wheelers.

The UNP, the SLFP and the PJP are all sedated and lack imagination. They should go, and go very fast.

last of all – we do not need the services of Buddhist Priests (A.R.) or ex-racialists to be our next leader.

Yes it’s true we have no viable good candidate. But as the article author says let’s make a start even now. Next time, or next time after that we may have a chance. If we never start when will we ever arrive at our destination?

Three sensible leaders who emerged during the last one month who can take this country in the right direction are

    1. cardinal Malcom Ranjith
    2. Army commander Mahesh Senanayake – looks an honest leader who calls a spade a spade
    3. Minister Mangala Samaraweera-,the only Statesman we have in the country at the moment who bodes well for the country and doesn’t stoop to the low levels just to win votes by sucking up to the sanga or anyone else

But the Sri Lankan’s will never change as the Sinhala saying goes “ mecco, meccoma thamai” you can never get them out of the woods no matter how much you try

Champa: Stupidity of the voters is the thing that has paved way for a President who violated the Constitution as per Supreme Court, not once but four times, does not appoint the Commander who won the war Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka as Minister of Defense/ Law and Order, does not allow Deputy Minister of Defense and PM to attend Security Council Meetings, who runs away to Singapore after knowing that there was going to be an attack and above all when the country was burning ran away to China. Do not forget he also authorizes the Army appointing a White Van commander who is accused of attacking media persons and suspected of killing Lasantha back into his previous job. This is the result of the stupid 75% votes you are talking about.

Mangala Samaraweera is an idiot. He uses a fuel price formula that he has no clue about. I remember sometime back when asked about it by the media, his answer was that it is too complex to be understood by the common man. Therefore it is not necessary to explain it. In other words what he suggested is that Sri Lankans (in this case perhaps he meant Sinhalese Buddhists were too stupid to understand it) are not smart enough to understand it.
      .
Now he says that Sri Lanka belongs to Sri Lankans – a simple case of ‘circular statement’ in logic. It is like saying India belongs Indians. That is so because one can define an Indian as someone who is a citizen of India. and hence someone who owns India collectively with others. Once you define an Indian that way, to go and say India belongs to Indians is stupid.
      .
The circular nature of his statement can be made clearer by logically inverting his statement. Sri Lanka does not belong to non- Sri Lankans. We do not need a Mangala Samaraweera to say that, do we?

UNP has capable people, so does the SLFP/ PJP, but they are not allowed to come up.To find out whether he is capable, one should be given eponsibility.Only Mangala had done so in this cabinet. One of the problems is the voting system, go back to first past the post system with smaller electorates that we had and this can be corrected

The problem is that those who are allowed to come up are the children of ex-leaders and all the children of ex-leaders are empty heads. what have they done, what are their vision for the country. Even Sajith thinks that the temple is the source of power. He had not understood history. That wanton woman born centuries ago used the temple to avenge her frustration and we are still following that tradition. There had been rock inscriptions discovered recently, where it had been shown that it is imparative that one or more women from the village had to given to the temple every day – Mut be to cook no!

Gemini Cricket; May I add another Bribery Commssion without bribery. try to get a copy of a document from (i) Courts registry ( ii) land registry and you will be told that the file cannot be traced. At Rs 1000 – Rs 1500 it will be found. I met a person at a DC close to Colombo, where for one week he had been wasting his time, about 5hrs a day to get at a document.from Record room.
Finally ladies in another office told him where the file is hidden and asked him to meet the registrar.
I attempted to get a surveyors report through a lady lawyer of the same court, she failed. I met the Registrar two working days befor the case, she ordered the file sorter to produce the file to me , he avoided. Finally I got the file through a lady in the Registrar’s office.

may God bless the bribe takers and the retired Commissioners.

you should have used the RTI Act, Upali. I hear many people are getting court documents through that. But you will need to go to the appeal stage as the court staff will not give.

        The Bribery Commission is useless.

In the wake of recent attack on the Muslims, the UAE government has asked EmiratesNBD bank to cancel USD 300M loan to BOC and OIC instructed Islamic development bank to cancel USD 90M loan to SL. Saudi government called SL ambassador, and asked him to provide explanations within 72hrs. Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and it’s 56 member countries have condemned this to the SL government in the strongest terms. This is the top and bold front page news in Wall Street journal, Washington Post, New York Times etc , and all other top news papers of the world. Now the SL government should act, not only the west and the Islamic World too putting pressure on them to ensure the safety, lives, limbs and properties of the Muslims of SL.

        Rajash,

When Demala terrorists butchered Sinhala men, women and children for three decades it was not a front line story. Why????

When the British Basta**s Corporation reported LTTE terrorist attacks, reporting was highly biased. Usually took an anti-Sinhala Buddhist stance.

It is because your grand father..father ..and you burned Tamils alive and danced while he wailed.

When Tamils challenged you were hiding under bed hugging your wife and her sister.

          Hehehe
Now SL Sinhala cardboard security forces invite N-E Tamils to finish off Musulims.

Who pampered …financed ..armed Musulims ..it is your Modayas politicians .So why complain ?

If you can’t stand with fire in the kitchen go out.

No tourism ..No investment to this cursed SL .anymore .Soon no jobs for Punchi Banda and Podi Menike in Arab countries.

You idiots are unable to share power with Tamils but ready to sell the country to Greater China.

‘A core element in the programme has to be rejection of ethno-politics, that is slavery to identity obsession.

No one in the good-for-nothing triumvirate will dare say any of this.'(Quotes)

I see this statement as a ruse to justify all the crimes committed since Independence in 1947. A look back to the 1958 riots will show thugs were transported in the then URW (Unemployment Relief Works) Department lorries all around the city and an inferno was orchestrated. It was alleged that the Minister of Agriculture and Lands Mr. Philip Gunawardene.
We cannot erase our memories of Terror and Hatred filled inciting speeches over the Radio by SWRD and the Draconian grin displayed by him as he passed in his car when the Tamil Peaceful satyagrahis were assaulted by Thugs on July 6th 1956 as the language act was passed in Parliament.

It is too late and impossible to pull the clock for more than 60 years back in time.

Mano: I cannot remember Philiph Gunawardena’s name being mentioned. Though he was rabid about Sinhala only, I prefer to believe that he was a gentleman. Philph was known to figh people physically not this type of thing. He had a large Trade Union, which had tamils. But I do remember it was SWRD who set the ball rolling through a speech via the Radio Ceylon in the night.
As always it was the failing economy that made them to instigate.

    Prof. Kumar
    .
    I beg to differ.
It is not that we don’t have options in choosing the correct leaders we need.
Who says we have no we are limited to these three arseholes.
The truth is that we drive the choices, we have driven these three good for nothing bastards to emerge.
We have the choice to reject them. If the voters are unlikely to vote for a candidate, the party will not field him.
So it would seem that as pathetic as the choices maybe, it is the citizens who are responsible for the kind of contestants fighting for votes.
Otherwise it would have been very easy for a person outside these three to contest and win.
So please don’t ever imply that we are forced, we are helpless, we are out of options….
We always have options, we just need to realize this simple fact.
The sooner we break free from our self imposed imaginary chains holding us down the sooner our country could start progressing as we should.

In my personal opinion,Nagananda Kodithuwakku may be a good choice, since he is an educated man, and puts forward some excellent policy proposals that could put this country right. Just watch what he has on offer, and you will be convinced. Some very old steps to cure all of Sri Lanka’s problems. The only issue is if he has the right men to back him up, and his leadership qualities which no one has experienced.

The way things are, there is a terrible and serious situation arising out of all these man made calamities – the Economy of the country is going to be the biggest casualty, if it tanks, and it going to terribly affect every Tom, Dick and Harry. 10% Muslims population of the country has the buying power of 40%, that’s works out to almost half. From the vegetable sellers to fish mongers to ordinary shop keepers are complaining no business, there is a possibility that some of the listed firms in Colombo exchange might go under due to this terrible situation. The country’s biggest Banana market in Embilipitiya is completely deserted, during this time of the Ramadan fasting, people from the east buy heavily but hardly any of them around that place now. Hence, it’s the paramount duty of the government to bring the situation under control, and build the trust and ensure the safety of all to lead a better lives, else there going to be mayhems, looting and riots on the streets when the economy suffers, and it’s ill effects on the people.

Sri lanka had Islam for sometime. there are more than one sect of Islam which is very peaceful and they try to live their life. Saudi Arabia says they eliminated Wahhabism from their Land. But Others say, in Myanmar, it is Saudi Arabiqan money that Trained Pakisthani Wahhabis and Carried out Rohingya attacks in Myammar. there is a letter from Saudi Arabian foreign minister to Sri lankan Saudi Arabian Ambassador published some where which says, Saudi Arabia knew in advance the ZAharan HAshim attack and they wanted the Embassy to erase all the related computer contents and take precautions, during a period of certain three days period, withouy going out. So, Wahhabis, Kthankudy and rebellious Muslim enclaves should be looked after and be made Tender. Others are peaceful people who want to live their lives. It is the Spy agency – politics behind religions that causes harm.

Yes all this buying power , especially in the east comes from illegal Arab Gulf money being transmitted to the island to Arabise and Islamise the island. Start with the north east and Colombo and then gradually spread from there. We all know that thousands of acres of Tamil lands in the north and east have been illegally acquired by Muslim politicians , especially the Hindu temple land stealer from the east and the Willpattu land clearer. These two have been constantly working against the Tamils from the north and east and are trying their best to marginalise them , chase them out, and settle out of area Wahhabis. The only recruit Muslims. Why haven’t these two extremists creatures not being chased out but still walking around freely and being rewarded?

Will Nadesana get in ,even without contesting?.
Is it possible under our current Mahavamsa Constitution?

Election is supposed to be only 6 months away.
But non of the other Two have not even put their Hands Up.

Mangala Samae wrote off his dear mate Dr Ranil, by taking his Kurundupolla to the Sinhala Buddhists and Buddhism.
Dr Ranil now can’t absolve himself unless Dr Ranil sacks Mangala.
    That can not ever happen.

But Mangala Samare is not a nit wit.
He has hedged the bets totally on the Vellala Tamils and all Muslims including Bathudeen, and Halkeem’s clans to . to get into Kotte in 2020.
What worries me is whether Samrae is betting on the UN too, to come and do a Bosnia Herzagovina in Srilanaka

I am so impressed with Abraham ‘s comments which Dr David has quoted here
But Abraham Bringing his followers to riot on the streets wouldn’t help our inhabitants especially our Catholics who are still reeling from what the Muslim Jihadists did to their Holy Places and their Catholic Moms , Dads, Sisters, Brothers, and grand parents.

Abraham was the first to congratulate Mangala Samare after his speech in Matara.
I bet Abraham would love to see the masses on the Streets.
But do the Vellalas normally do that ?.
I mean pour on to Streets in Colombo?.
Will Even AAVA do it while Doughie is in Jaffna.

Why would Mano Ganeshan want to call up his Colombo Tamils to riot on the Streets.
What is there in it for him?..
Besides Mano is backing our Cardinal ‘s call not to Touch Buddhism in the Constitution.

In contrast JVP is on the same wave length as Abraham.
I bet ,They would love to Join Abraham on the Streets.
But, Will the poor naive Youth who got done, through Two JVP Leaders do it for a Third Time?,
Specially when their current leader has taken LKR 25 Lakhs from Dr Ranil?….

However as a precautionary measure this time they have gathered their official stormtroopers veteran(?) officers including kidnappers, war criminals, looters, …………… around them. They had a secret meeting about a couple of months ago.

They were instructed to study the security situation and draft proposals.

In the world, particularly small and weak countries are intertwined wit the politics of the bigger and power countries. In this case, International community, NATO, Countries of FIVE EYES, Need to wipe out Socialism are some of the needs. Every trying to be socialist countries have problems. Some how Such countries need corrupt political systems. So, Kuamr David is correct. From One side, Gotabhaya Rajapakse and Sirisena divide that vote. But, there is a need of Powerful g=candidate other than Ranil wickramasinghe from the other side.
Some of the problems that Ranil has are as same as what Mahinda Rajapakse had. Sri lanka can not have patriotic Candidates. On the other hand, Srilanka is the only country runs the political system based on Religions and Ethnic groups. It is like Sri lanka is the only country that has different ethnic groups and different religions.

In reality Elections are Jokes when a good candidate is there. Because, elections give more opportunity to foreign countries to influence system. Read this; US Interfered in Elections of at Least 85 Countries Worldwide Since 1945
America has a long history of meddling in the elections of foreign countries, new research shows
Sri lanka has party constitutions which protect the Status quo needs. Therefore, capable people are not allowed to come up.

What are the true colours of Gota and his true intentions. True colours, we saw him running away to USA when LTTE was progressing, he came back not to the battle field but to an air conditioned office. He then directed white van abductions, murders and attacks on media persons, locked up the Army Commander who won the war.

True intentions – to become the President so that all his stealing, murders and other nefarious activities could be covered up. Do we Sri Lankans deserve a murderous of a President?

“Heartless Gota, Hopeless Ranil & Clueless Sira”
    —-
A large majority of Sinhalayo prefer ‘Heartless Gota’. To Kumar David, Colombian Toiyas, NGOs and Civil Society Organizations thriving on $$$s Gotabhaya may be heartless person but for Sinhalayo he is a hero who played a vital role to eliminate LTTE terrorism and a person who has the capability to save this country.
It is up to Demala and Muslim ordinary people to decide who is the best person. Please do not get misled by what your politicians say. They do not care for the lives of ordinary people.

This may be the only country in the world that minorities who came from other countries are imposing their things on majority native Sinhalayo.

There are four types of laws exist in this country. Roman Dutch Law, Udarata Law, Sharia Law and Thesawalamei. Muslims and Demalu have imposed laws based on ethnicity and religion on Sri Lankans.

Because of Thesawalamei, the land in Yapanaya can only be owned by Demalu (in reality by Wellala Demalu). This is a customary law from Malabar which was brought to this country by laborers imported by Portuguese and Dutch. Why should Sri Lanka accept this law?

Shariah law is based on Muslim religion. The Sinhalese who are abide by Roman Dutch Law can have only one wife whereas Muslims, under Sharia Law can have several wives. This is totally unfair for Sinhalayo.

According to Shariah Law, a girl who attains puberty can marry. Even if a girl attains puberty at the age of ten, she can marry but a Sinhala woman has to wait until she reaches 18 years to get married. Isn’t this unfair.

According to Shariah Law a female government employee is entitled to get four months and ten days paid leave if her husband pass away. Sinhala people do not have that privilege. Isn’t this unfair for Sinhalayo.

According to Shariah Law, if a Muslim woman gets pregnant and if the husband pass away or divorce, she is entitled to get paid leave until she delivers the baby. Sinhalayo do not have that luxury. Isn’t this unfair for Sinhalayo.

A few decades before the civil war began, Sri Lanka had one of the highest literacy rates in the world. It had elected the world’s first female prime minister. This was before Deng Xiaoping’s economic reforms in China, so that Sri Lanka was ahead of even China in human development. Unfortunately, the war caused a massive brain drain (exodus of intellectuals), hindering both the country’s economic and human development. You need clever people to formulate smart policies. Many of the few intellectuals who opted to step forth during the war were themselves assassinated by the LTTE, for example, Lakshman Kadirgamar. This is one reason why we have complete nincompoops such as Ranil are still in the government. Another reason is nepotism. We definitely need to get rid of these dynastic idiots. JR was an excellent statesman, Ranil is useless. Similarly, Mahinda did an outstanding job, but his children, who have political ambitions, are complete buffoons.

The writer is asking two questions: 1. Why the security failed to stop the post 4/21 riots? 2. Given his “three choices”, whom should be selected?

I think that the answer to the first question can be confirmed only after a thorough unbiased investigation. But, considering the blockades from highly placed saboteurs to impede the results of many highly publicized investigations in the recent past, I doubt whether the public will ever get to know whole truth. There are many rumor flying around accusing some opposition political leaders in the area for calling police chief of the are asking not to intervene immediately. Considering the well known secret that many police officers are in the payroll of illicit businessmen varying from sand & soil supply to illicit liquor, such an accusation s cannot be discarded easily. It is hard to explain why such police officers are kept in duty if that is the case! Is it b’cos SL police intelligence is an utter failure; or they themselves are rotten; or else, the police head quarters is a pretending a temporary ignorance in order to gather more details?

The answer to the second question is much more complicated. About GoRa, my personal belief that the media & the public have a highly exaggerated opinion about the fellow. Whatever success he has is b’cos of the freedom he had to operate under his brother’s rule. The other main reason for his success was his notoriety for getting red-hot angry in a split-second. This behavior may not have anything to do with a heartlessness. Rather, I suspect that it is a result of a mental decease known as the “Bipolar Syndrome”, a common but undetected state of minds among many.

the 2014 riots of aluthgama was organised by SLPP.The 2018 riots in kandy was organised by the SLFP and UNP.The 2019 riots in kurunegala and minuwangoda was organised by UNP and SLFP.
