It’s Cobra-le – Not Sinha-le!

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world because they’d never expect it” – Jack Handey

It appeared that people for Sri Lanka spoke twice in 2015 ,in words and actions loud and clear that Cobras belong to the Jungle and they have to be dealt with accordingly. BJP (the political wing of BBS) was given a decisive verdict by the electorate in August 2015, by throwing them into dustbins of history and not even one of them were able to retain their deposits. Not even foul mouthed Gnanasara, the Sri Lankan version of Trump and Virathu in one, got more than 650 votes.

But then, evil as he is and his movement, he and his garbage outfit BBS continue to arouse ethnic hatred among the peace loving people of Sri Lanka, specially the Muslims shamelessly even after his utter defeat. He keeps on throwing conjectures all around- suicide jackets and an imminent of an ISIS attack?. It is high-time that the intelligence keep a close eye on these reactionary forces who are likely to create such scenarios and blame them on Muslims.

Sinha LeThe recent of such hate campaigns is this ‘Sinhala’Ley movement , which started on social media platforms, such as Facebook, by an extremist group purportedly supportive of the BBS and even former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who along with his brother Gota were their patron saints. Seemingly this movement says that they want to show that Sri Lankans do not bow down to any one or any country and that the blood in their veins are like the lions blood and they do walk with heads held high like brave lions’. But the intentions behind those sticker ,poster and FB campaigns were clearly indicative of their hate leanings and more-so anti-Muslim hate. Recently , many houses in Nugegoda areas were spray painted with ‘Sinha-ley’ and MR’s son Rohitha has apparently commented that “it was sad” to see the “Sinha le” movement becoming like the BBS and offered some advice for it to move in a “Sri Lankan” movement without condemning their actions. There are however clear signs that this campaign is far from patriotic and has all the hall marks of the vicious plans of BBS and their sister hate organizations, which has this time selected a more brainier way of spreading hatred specially towards Muslims, through these nationalist slogans . Thus, Sinhaley is nothing less than venomous Cobra-ley (BBS Origin) . We can see how their political sponsors like Wimal and the Gang (Gammampila, Dinesh etc) are also subtly raising sensitive issues such as ‘the proposed constitution such as prime place in the Constitution for Buddhism may be dispensed with’ stuff even before the national discourse in that area has started. Sinhaley campaign has even spread overseas with many vehicles in the Gulf being seen with Sinhaley stickers. One FB Video/ poster says that ‘ A fervent message to the BBS and the nationalist organizations from Sinhaley –The Island nation of Sinhale ‘page . We ‘Sinhaley opened the eyes of the sleeping Sinhala People. It is upto You to guide them . Guidance from BBS? What nonsense other than pure hatred.? It is alright if the purpose is making Sinhala people aware of their rights, But this campaign shows features of showing aggression towards the ‘other’ by appealing to hate groups like BBS and also trying to devour the identities of others into a ‘Sinhaley identity albeit forcefully. Thus, it is important that this campaign is nipped in the bud and the intelligence keeps an eye on trouble makers and their sponsors and financiers. We know that we Sinhalese are much wiser now but then we have short memories too, don’t we?

Please listen to what this Sinhala youth is trying to say about the dangers of this campaign.

Let me quote Dr E.W. Adhikaram, a well known Sinhala Intellectual,

Isn’t the Nationalist a Mental Patient? Species of birds differ by birth from one another. Between the eagle and the dove, between the quail and the peacock there is a natural difference. Is there such a difference between the Sinhalese and the Tamil, between the Englishman and the German? Unlike birds and animals, all human beings in the world belong to one species only, the human species. In truth there is only one human race: what goes as Sinhalese, Tamil, English and a thousand other nationalities are only designations born out of belief and having no intrinsic significance whatsoever… The main cause for all the wars that took place in the world in the past was this psychological ailment, namely nationalism… Shouldn’t we therefore be free of this insanity of nationalism and thereby cease to be enemies of mankind? Nationalism is not the road to peace.

It is said ‘Once bitten twice shy’. How many times has our Nation being bitten by this racist and hatred ridden campains in our Post- Independent era?. Still, we do not seem to learn lessons.do we?.

This is not even Cobra-le but Garandi-le! Those who are stirred by this type of garbage have Garandi-le in their veins.

One News says, “Some Muslim residents in the Nugegoda area yesterday were disturbed to find that their walls and gates had been spray painted with the word `Sinhale` by some unidentified groups during the night.

Another News says, “36 Sri Lankans gone to Syria; some to join ISIS: Def. Secy.”

This extremist group seemingly supportive of the Bodu Bala Sena organization and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is playing with fire by going to the extreme in provoking Muslims, it is just a matter of time before ‘ISIS’ trains its guns on these racist Monkies.

If the SL authorities are not going to stop this nonsense, it is high time that someone form a motorcycle gang and equip them with spray paint cans to spray on top of these Sinha-Le stickers where ever they see them, even if it is a luxury vehicle. There should be some way to stop this nonsense before it turns into another ugly war and bring down the country to doom.

Sinha-le may be the reason that the misbehaved soldiers behaving like savage beasts, raped humans (Tamils) and committed crimes against humanity as they did in Vanni.

Civilized human beings with human blood won’t do such barbaric acts.

Are we going to witness more animal-like behavior by those calling themselves Sinha-le?

Hope they don’t behave like animal blood laden beasts.

It is no wonder that they flaunt their animal blood – Sinha-le!

They need to be tamed by the international community before they commit further colossal damage to human beings in the island.

What is the so-called good governance doing about it?

Sinha-Le is nothing but a bunch of racist Sinhalese buffoons trying to prove that they descend from a beast, that their forefather was a sub-human and a product of bestiality, and therefore animal/lion blood flows in their veins. A civilized Sinhalese person will feel greatly embarrassed and deeply humiliated by this (Sinha-Le) propaganda.

Why cant they the law makers stop the kind of sticker campaigns ? Not every country in Europe would allow the kind of bannars or any other stickers if the cultural ministry acts accordingly.
I think today s administration too is not strong enough to go against lunatic fractions of the island.
What if they would as a sticker ” THIS COUNTRY IS ONLY FOR SINHALAYA”, would the rulers (law and order related authorities )still be silent as is the case at present ?

Rulers are the ones that need to act promptly not allowing the kind of minotirities to abuse the current day press freedom.

I believe “incitement to racial hatred” is already a crime. The problem is how well it is enforced. This obnoxious sticker campaign fall into it. They are playing with fire when they export it to other countries.

This punchikoluwa -young chap in the video is telling the truth. Any right thinking – ones will agree with him completely.
More of the kind of young ones can do the job well towards awarness programms. Schools, Temples, Churches and Mosques can also do the job well. Just stay mum for the kind of Sticker displays can cost our lives again.
Going back to the days, where we lost our lovely ones mostly for no reasons – we means, srilankens, lost their lovely ones even if the minority Tamil SRILANKENS lost more. They lost not only lives but also their livelyhood and everything. Being left the country for other destinations, they have today been parts of migrant communities in Europe and other continenets. Each time, I meet with the Swiss, they add me few words about the srilankens living in Switzerland. Most among the first generation, seems to be suffering from all kind cultural shocks even today after decade long stay in Europe, while second generations have integrated to the life over here. Psyhological inbalances, the unexpected war created, will take ages to heal them off and normalize those met with problems.

Young men seem to have an exemplary brain thoguh even senior politicians like penisless Vasidewa or other other leftists dont.

Please listen to what they say to the folks today

a)Gonmanpila whose brain cells seem to be wandering to his backside – is only radical man in the spot light these days, but for no valid reasons. Constiuttional changes are not even pulicised – it is making now

b)Buruwanse – has lot to say about his recent so called lectures given to the same kind of men and women that allowed him to see italy and other places where – said to have sent him a ticket and visa to allow him the places – his arguments seem to be short live today than had been Raja days –
he has to go for a SATHAYAGRAHAYA again to feel okay

        c) Majority folks should have been that stupid, to allow these politicians to consolidate the power

Those silent UNP MPS or Deputies seem to be very busy at their tasks, not criticising others diese days. Even MONKEY like Dayasiri seems to have learnt from the current regime.

These handful of [Edited out] feel that the country is theirs, we must not even discuss this. See the manner Gommanpila, Buruwanse and the like behave today. BBS is also like the dogs trying to hide their tails behind. What about the Hambantota thugs that threatened fact finding missions a year ago, search for safer ground in the overflowing toilet silos of Mr Madamulana.
All in all – even in a forest, you have all varieties of animals, the very same thing is with the human beings, among us, all sort of people are there. Besides, Gonmanpila, Dinesh Balugunawardhana, Buruwanse et al together with pennisless senior leftists would not survive inthe todays adminstrations, so they are making and taking every actions to show their presence. Media men should consider all these and go forward with high intelligence not to support the revengeful to raise their head. That way only, we can save this nation from all the kind of poisonous men and women.

Best is to ask these men to change their Punnaku brand (fodder). If any so called SINHALE sticker holders would be interviewed, you may get it surely, most of them are not aware of the issue. They just follow the other. This has go viral this way. At least 500 000 vote eligible living near to colombo are proved to be beyond all stupidity. Last election results verified this. We dont need to see any other statistics. Last election is accpeted to have been the free and fair elections held sofar in the country. So knowing all these, today rulers have to take actions. This can achieve through healthy awarness programmes. Just showing ignorance to this can ALONE not be okay.

Is it Cobra-le or Gon -Le, or Buru-Le or Mee Harak Le?

      What does it Tell you?

The vast Majority of the Sri Lankans, including Sinhala Buddhists and others who are non-Buddhists have a good degree of common sense, as this data shows.

“He keeps on throwing conjectures all around- suicide jackets and an imminent of an ISIS attack?. It is high-time that the intelligence keep a close eye on these reactionary forces who are likely to create such scenarios and blame them on Muslims.”

What does it tell you? There is no smoke without a fire? Who is causing the BBS smoke and who is setting the fire, at the expense of the Sinhala Buddhists and Sri Lankan Muslims?

The answer: Norway, Israel and the christian Fundamentalist American West and vested Europeans.

The Various Norwegian Agencies That Supported BBS Personnel Prof. Rajiva Wijesinha MP July 3, 2013 |

Besides, Eric Solheim admitted Funding BBS on Twitter, along with LTTE.

      https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/the-various-norwegian-agencies-that-supported-bbs-personnel/

When I wrote some weeks back about the supposed Norwegian involvement with the Bodhu Bala Sena, I had not seen the clarification which the Norwegian Embassy had put on its website about the allegations. Having read it, I am more than ever convinced that the Norwegian government and its embassy have not behaved badly, but also that they, and also the Sri Lankan government, must go more carefully into the matter and check on what exactly has been going on. If they can do this together, so much the better, though I fear that neither side will have the correct skills and attitudes to ensure fruitful and productive cooperation.

The reason I believe investigation would be useful is because of two names I noticed in the official Norwegian statement. One is that of the Worldview International Foundation, which is essentially run by a gentleman called Arne Fjiatoff, who has been in Sri Lanka now for several decades. During this period he has been involved in a range of projects with various Sri Lankan governments, which are in theory designed to benefit the Sri Lankan people, but which have also brought considerable benefits to Arne himself.

I was introduced to him initially by Dilanthe Withanage, the other name I noticed in the statement. Dilanthe has now emerged as the lay spokesman for the BBS, though I knew him earlier in another very positive incarnation, as running computer programmes for the Ministry of Education when I was Adviser there on English. Though I took on the position mainly to reintroduce the English medium option, given the paucity of capacity there at the time, I ended up involved in many other initiatives, ranging from curriculum revision to primary English materials.

I had been appointed by Tara de Mel, who I still think was one of the best Secretaries of Education Sri Lanka has had. Her involvement with Arne however surprised me, for she did not seem to have realized that the project he had suggested through Dilanthe, and which I was asked to comment on, was expensive and not likely to prove productive. As always with such unsolicited projects, it included the purchase of a great deal of software, for which it seemed a loan would be available, though the terms did not seem especially favourable. And my suspicions were roused further when Arne referred to the benefits there might be for me, including travel to Norway and consultancy payments.

I realized then how he had been operating over the previous decades, given how easy it is to win the support of government officials through what is not strictly bribery, but rather the provision of what seem enormous benefits, given the joys and profits of foreign travel. Incidentally, it seems that that is what the Norwegian government did try to do with the monks it had taken to Norway, though the benefits conferred do not seem to have produced any positive results in that instance.

I was negative about the project and tried to keep my distance, though after Tara ceased to be Secretary she had me over to see Arne again about what seemed another far fetched scheme which also seems to have been forgotten. I should note that it is a pity government has not since 2005 tried to make use of Tara’s services since, though she was understandably loyal to President Kumaratunga who had entrusted her with major responsibilities, her abilities were unquestionable, and she would bring similar professionalism to bear in any other position. Given current problems with education, we cannot afford to ignore people of talent and ability.

Dilanthe I felt was the same, so I was glad to see him back in harness at the Presidential Secretariat in relation to I think the Trilingual Initiative. I also saw that he was associated with a website called Sithamu, for which I was asked to write, and which seemed to me to provide space for a range of interesting and constructive articles.

That had initially been a project of the Ministry of National Languages and Social Integration, and I believe it had received Norwegian funding through either the Norwegian Peacebuilding Resource Centre (NOREF) or the Nordic International Foundation (NIS Foundation), both of which are mentioned in the Norwegian Embassy statement. What exactly was achieved through their support is not clear, except for the visit to Norway by Dilanthe and the monks, in connection with a Reconciliation Conference which does not seem to have had any productive outcome. The NIS Foundation is said to have then supported a reconciliation project, but what this was is not explained.

Earlier this year Sithamu suddenly stopped functioning, which seems a great pity. I was told that funding had run out, but I cannot understand why the Ministry and the Norwegians who funded it were not able to continue to provide support, since very little would have been required for a functioning website, with no payments required for contributors.

I believe it is important, given the worries caused recently by what seem BBS initiatives, for the Ministry and the Norwegian Embassy to look carefully into what has happened, and make details public. I should note that one of the ways in which Arne sold himself, I believe throughout his stay in Sri Lanka, but certainly at the time I met him, was by claiming that he had good connections with the Norwegian government and in particular Eric Solheim. I do not think it is only my own worries about Solheim and the generally destructive effect he has had on Sri Lanka that makes me think the Norwegian Embassy would do well to find out exactly what Arne’s role has been in promoting contacts between BBS personnel and Norway, and also in providing funding for any projects. Why the project stopped, and what happened to any remaining funds should also be looked into and disclosed.

Is this closer to the Truth? Flash back 450 years or so. The truth should prevail and advanced, however bitter it is for some, including the Para-Sinhala, Para-Tails, Para-Muslims, the Church, the Mosque or the Temple.

If around 1543 or early 1,600’s somebody made a similar comment about the Catholic Church’s support of the Geocentric model based on the Bible and the Ancients, and made a comment like

Aren’t these buggers, the Catholic Church, the Cardinals , the Inquisitors and their stooges shameless ? Talking big about their God, The bible, and their savior, and the infallibility of the Pope, as the representative on Earth, their God bloodline when their own astronomers like Copernicus, Galileo and Kepler are slaving in the skies and heavens to find out the truth? The Catholic Church got hammered by the Scientists and Astronomers for nearly 200 years and they were hiding under the bible and the infallibility of the Pope.

        The pope is not infallible.

Simple math… (hoping that Colombo Telegraph would let this through)

    A Lion (100% Lion) + A Princess (100% Aryan) = Sinhabahu (50% L + 50% A), Sinhaseevali (50% L + 50% A)

    Sinhabahu (50% L + 50% A) + Sinhaseevali (50% L + 50% A) = Vijaya (50% L + 50% A)

    Vijaya (50% L + 50% A) + Pandya Princess (100% Tamil) = First Sinhalese (50% T + 25% L + 25% A)

    First Sinhalese (50% T + 25% L + 25% A) + Malayalees (80% M + 20% T) = Middle Sinhalese (35% T + 12.5% L + 12.5% A + 40% M)

Grossly assuming 80% first Sinhalese and 20% Middle Sinhalese make up the main Sinhala population (ignoring all Muslim and Colonial mix), the Current Sinhalese would be 47% Tamil, 22.5% Aryan, 22.5% Lion and 8% Malayalee.

You all must be knowing the story about the King of the jungle well without any doubt everybody knows and will say that the Lion is the King of the beast in the jungle.

Well there is another side of the story about the King of the jungle.

One fine day the Lion King want to put to test his authority to all the animals first he saw and approached an innocent rabbit and roared and questioned who is the king of the jungle, the poor rabbit bowed in fear of its life and meekly said Lord you are the king of the jungle likewise the lion questioned all the other rest of the animals and the replies were same.

Then the lion saw at a distance a Tusker a huge Elephant flapping its years and gulping quietly bunches of greens and minding its own business, the lion approached the Tusker put the same question and before he could even roar the elephant grasped the lion and dashed the Lion King unto the ground the bruised and wounded King of the beast squeakily like a mouse said if you do not know you should have said so but not to dash like this and break my bones.

This Sinhalese in general always claim all what’s not belonging to them. They claim the footmark at ADAMS PEAK as theirs and then even the foot print of prophet Abraham too of that of lord buddhas
Total contradictions. Similarly they claim directly or indirectly to possess SINHA LE. another contraction when compared with their ideologies. The Sinhalese who criticize the consumption of flesh claim to possess the blood of an animal the food of which I nothing but flesh. What a contradiction.

The many morons who have posted here have totally misunderstood the Sinhale idea. There is no such thing as Sinhala blood. Also ‘Sinha ley’ is a play on words as Sinhale is another name for Lanka.

The Sinha Ley idea refers to the Sinhalese being special, that’s all. Just as the Jaffna Tamils believe they are special, and the Jews, the English, the God-Bless-The-United-States-Americans and almost every other race and religion.

Paul, it sure sounded like some kind of ‘rationale’ to defend this nonsense when you say that “The Sinha Ley idea refers to the Sinhalese being special, that’s all.”

          “… that’s all”???!!!

As Sam has said, every race, religion, country and political party has good and bad members. If everyone had the same degree of goodness or badness, there will be no distinction as good or bad. The true Sinhala Buddhists are not moved to anger by what you guys are saying. Even our great teacher Buddha has been insulted many times with worse words.

Once Buddha was on his usual morning round of begging for food and came to the house of a Brahmin named Akkosa Bharadvaja, who had a deep rooted grudge against him, because many followers of these Brahmins had taken recluse in Buddhism. Nevertheless Buddha did not exclude his house in his rounds. Akkosa too was expecting Buddha on that day and had prepared a speech full of venom to be delivered directly to Buddha. He confronted Buddha at the door and went on giving a long speech with very choice and colorful profanities, which are best left to the imagination of the reader. The gist of all that was that Buddha was an unprincipled thief stealing followers from other faiths.

Buddha just stood there with no reaction whatsoever as if he did not hear or see anything. Akkosa was taken aback, because what he expected was a virulent verbal counter attack from Buddha. It looked as if all his preparations were of no use.

Finally, running out of steam he stopped and said “You stupid Gautama, didn’t you hear what I said to you all this time?”

Buddha smiled and said, “Yes, I did, pious (Pinwath) Brahmin Akkosa”.

“Then why don’t you say something?”

Buddha said “can I ask you a question:?

    “Of course. Go ahead.”

“If you hear that your relatives are coming to visit you, wouldn’t you prepare a great meal for them?” “Of course I will”.

“What will you do, if they come but do not accept your food and go away without eating or drinking anything”?

“What can I do? I cannot allow it to go to waste after spending so much money. I will eat it myself.”

“Similarly Akkosa, I do not accept any of the bad things you have said. So, you will have to keep it for yourself and what you like with that.” It is said that on hearing that Akkosa realized his folly and himself became a recluse of Buddha.

Similarly, my friends, the true Sinhalese Buddhists are not accepting any of those insultive comments from you. You have to keep them. We have only Metta for you. If any fake Sinhala Buddhists try to harm you, rest assured that we will be in the fore front of your defense. This are not vain words. We did that in 1983 at the risk of our lives and property and we will do it again in the future, if necessary.

The Sinhala Buddhist mindset has been nurtured in isolation, far away from the scientific historical facts. The mythical stories of the Mahavamsa have implanted in a large portion of the Sinhala Buddhist population a strong, deeply rooted and unreserved belief in their origin – exactly as it is depicted in the chronicle.

The Sinhala Buddhist nationalistic argument is simple:“If you are a Sinhala speaking Sri Lankan, you either have to believe in the mythical Lion ancestry -your ‘blood relation’ to a lion as depicted in the Mahavamsa – or consider yourself a traitor – an ‘outcast’!”

It is sometimes amusing, surprising and saddening at the same time to see the enormous pride that some Sinhala nationalists take in the belief that they have ‘lion blood’ running in their veins. I wonder which group of blood this would be? One wonders how on earth sane people of one of the most literate countries in the world, could still continue to base all their arguments of ‘birth rights’ of the Sinhala race on the mythological imagination of the Mahavamsa?

The story of a lion mating with a human female to produce human twins, a son and a daughter and then the act of incest between the twins to produce 16 twins is not only mind-boggling but also defies wildest fantasies. This material of the Mahavamsa no doubt deserves an adults-only rating. One can only marvel at the extent of the imagination of the authors, the celibate bhikkus of the Mahavihara, who wrote these lines for the consumption of the pious general populace.

None of us would be stupid enough to believe in that story in a literal sense though some people are stupid enough to believe that we believe it. I do not mean smart guys like you. I wouldn’t insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you are saying about what we believe.

We all know that these are mythical stories and such stories are not confined to the Sinhalese only. The original human who fathered Sinhabahu and Sinha Seevali may have been just a brave human and bravery is, perhaps unjustifiably, associated with lions. Even the English have their Richard the Lion Heart. Does it mean that they believe (or the Tamils believe that their saviors believe) that his heart has been transplanted with that of a lion? The Tamils may be stupid, but certainly not that stupid!

Anyway my personal opinion is that the lions are not so noble or brave. The male lion lives in a pride with a few lionesses and the cubs. It is the lioness who brings home the bread, or meat in this case. The lionesses risk their lives or serious injury in the hunt. The male never joins in the hunt and looks on from a safe distance at what is going on until the prey is downed and everything is safe. Then he gets up from his comfortable posture, runs up, chases the lionesses away and enjoys the best parts of the carcass. Once he has had a bellyful, he wanders off, leaving the lionesses and the cubs to eat the rest of the meat. The final blow is what he does next. He lies down on his back, with all four legs up, giving his testicles a nice cozy sun bath. That is the brave life of the Lord of the Jungle. Nothing to be proud of.

When you consider that type of behavior, many males of our country, irrespective of their race, can certainly be considered lion like. We send our wives to work as slaves in the Middle East and then use the hard earned money they send to have a good time with other women. I would say that not only the Sinhalese, but the Tamils and Muslims of this country are also great, or greater, lions. Reminds me of the Sinhalese saying “Api mona balloda? Munne Ballo! The Tamils being smarter than the Sinhalese, have gone a step further. Using the ruse that Tigers are still in danger of being mauled by Lions in the land of lions, they have manage to migrate in to greener pastures, where they can live like lions.

Have you just escaped from a Mental Asylum?
      OR
      Have you forgotten your medicine?
      OR
Are you addicted to hallucinatory drugs?

Go and get some treatment. Your disease is called schizophrenia, where one of the symptoms is hallucinations. You need urgent treatment otherwise you will destroy yourself, burn out from your own idiotic and irrational blabbering that only some lunatics and mentally retarded can appreciate.

Take my advice, it is good for you. You need an institutionalized mental treatment very urgently. Run and get help before it is too late. You said Angoda is close to where you live, rush there as soon as you can before it gets worse.
