The Negombo High Court today issued a death sentence to Samantha Jayalath, the main suspect in the rape and murder of five year old Seya Sadewmi of Kotadeniyawa.
The death sentence was issued by the Negombo High Court Judge Champa Rajarathne, who also sentenced the suspect to 60 years of jail for abducting, abusing and raping the five year old child.
Seya went missing from her home in September last year, and her body was discovered several days later. Initially a school boy was arrested, followed by several other suspects, including the main suspect’s brother known as ‘Kondaya’ who was later released.
Subsequently, Jayalath had confessed to the killing.

This beautiful tender flower sacrificed the life for future generations. Rulers have to safeguard and protect the young buds creating a society free from the kind of perpetrators. All in all, Rajapakshe adminsitration caused all these because they did not take any kind of actions even if the innocient were attacked by anyone during the last few years. Today we see, ruling MPs, oppositions MPs are all being called for investigations. The kind of era we never had during the days of Maha Thirisana yet telling ” I can run the government”. This man seems to have no the least respect to people. People rejected him and his maraude ruling being unable to see it -but shamelessly to ask for power further should be beyond all bearing.

If I was the leader of this beautiful country, these animals who perpetrated this heinous crime to this beautiful child would have been exterminated like rats, I would have personally exterminated them.
Only if I had the chance I would have picked her up and brought her and raised her as my own.

Please CT
respect victimized mothers wishes.
Refrain from publishing pics of my daughter- Seya’s mother

Seya Sadewmi’s mother yesterday requested all media outlets to refrain from publishing Seya’s photographs in the future as the court proceedings for the murder of her daughter had concluded.
She spoke to the media at the Negombo High Court yesterday, after the court ordered the suspect Saman Jayalath, who was found guilty of the charge of murdering five-year-old Seya, was handed a death sentence.

Justice For Seya
“The Negombo High Court today issued a death sentence to Samantha Jayalath, the main suspect in the rape and murder of five year old Seya Sadewmi of Kotadeniyawa.”
Negombo High Court Judge Champa Rajarathne, thank you.
We are beginning to see some justice, but not there yet.
However, thee are still a number of murders and killers out there nor being punished.
When can the people see justice in these cases as well?

I beleive law makers together with independent police will round up all the kind of criminals or the like from today on to protect our children. This country has now become not second to Colomobia where almost every 2nd is met with drug problems. How this happened can easily be traceble if the rulers paid whole hearted attempts. I remember how the Maharaja et al made every effort to cover the drug dealing business by their own take part – at the time Lanza was rounded by police – Maharaja himself abused state helicopter to block Lanza from being arrested. That is how Maharjaa dealt with drug or all kind of highly fradulent personalities.

Excuse me; have I missed something?
MR flew in to kiss and hug the Fresh Prince of FishTown in the bad old days.
BUT guess what, the new YAHAPALANA boys have promoted Mario Lanza to Minister of State, AND made him the KING of NEGOMBO DISTRICT.
There is a bad smell in FishTown; and NO, it is not the dried fish on the esplanade.
/
Simon Gunasekara / March 16, 2016
See all the news items proved that Pinguththaraya (former President of srilanka) arrived in the Lanzas house by using state helicopters. But the very same Lanza has guts to twist it inthe current parliament ? What have we achieved sofar in this regard nothing ?

Leelagemalli / March 16, 2016
This means former president himself has supported drug dealer- related businesses ?
These are prima facie evidence ? What do the authorities that investigate drug trafficking and all the high crimes ?
/
Sirimal / March 16, 2016
It was a greater mistake current regime to appoint those alleged drug peddlers to their parliament.
Ranjan and genuine young blood of UNP are right – crystal right.
Until lately, I was unable to check this news. Omg… Mahinda Rajapakshe is the real criminal. These allegations are not baseless.
/

Not only you majority masses have not even taken it as a serious act.
They just believed what is being reported by MR media men.
Lanken Media to be blamed for all the mess
Even today, they dont report being on a neutral platform.
I thank you CT for continuation of their efforts to let us share our thoughts here.

when it goes for money money money …. MR et al would do anything and everyting.
SF revealed that the Peacock mansion about which there were rumours lately – was an another property belonging to Mahinda Rajapakshe being bought by looted sums. Sunny boy – fernando the man appointed to protect that is said to be MR man. All in all those press briefing all that were just stammered stories. This is how Meeharaka Rjaaakshe worked – so hypocrite and rascal minded as no others

Sinhala_Man yes, looking beautiful, innocent, and sweet little child of mine. / March 16, 2016
Yes, what a beautiful, sweet, and innocent child of five. “A five years’ daughter of the pygmy race” as Wordsworth would have said.
But in what sort of animal could seeing her rouse lustful thoughts? And why must lust be accompanied by murderous assault?
AJ, below: while I agree with you that you should be allowed to cry for a dead dear one, even if he was a terrorist, what connection has that statement got with this story?
