JVP Condemns Inaction Of Police, Says Clear Indication Of State Sponsoring The BBS

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna ( JVP) in a statement issued to the media said that the fact that the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) could threaten and disrupt yesterdays media conference in the presence of the Police was a clear indication that the organisation actions are state sponsored.

“The fact that the BBS could do all this in the very presence of the Police clearly shows that their actions are state sponsored. The government should immediately take action to prevent incidents of this sort which are a threat to democracy and national unity from occuring” the statement said.

The strongly worded statement which denounced the actions of the ( BBS) said that the abuse and threats hurled at the monks of the Jathika Bala Sena poses a serious threat to the status of the rule of law.

Earlier the convener of the Jathika Bala Sena Ven. Watareka Vijhitha Thero was abused and forced into apologising and disbanding his organisation.

However, the thero thereafter lodging a complaint said that he feared for his life and made the apology under coercion.

Ven. Vijitha was ealier assaulted allegedly by the BBS and was hospitalised due to his vociferous criticism of the organisation.

    Great AKD, :)
I very much respect you as a great voice at this critical stage of our country. I was very ashamed to see Ghanasara attacking fellow monks to all abusive vulgar language. This man Ghanasara should be taken to custody – policemen were like onlookers of the grave incident as they themselves failed to react at the time BBS monks once demoilished CCTV cameras, a few months ago.

      Dear JVP leader,

“The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna ( JVP) in a statement issued to the media said that the fact that the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) could threaten and disrupt yesterdays media conference in the presence of the Police was a clear indication that the organisation actions are state sponsored.”

“Earlier the convener of the Jathika Bala Sena Ven. Watareka Vijhitha Thero was abused and forced into apologising and disbanding his organisation”

      My questions are:

      1. Why only JVP is coming to the forefront?
Is it because only JVP has principles?

      2. What about the Leftist parties?

      3. What about the UNP? Karu Jayasuriya,?

      4. What about the others? Democratic Party? Sarath Fonseka?

      5. TNA? What have you got to say?

      6. SLMC? Are you still silent?

      8. Mahanayaka Thero? The Maras are attacking the Monks who wants to follow the Buddhas’s Buddhism. Where are you?

Whya ARE THEY NOT POCMOIMHG TOT HE RESCUSE

When did the Muslims or Buddhist come to the rescue of TNA or Tamils at large?
Having said that TNA as well as Mano has raised the issue of the plight of Muslims and other religious minorities many times.

        WHERE ARE THE MAHANAYAKES?

Don’t they have the duty and responsibility to manage their dogs.

          “WHERE ARE THE MAHANAYAKES?

Don’t they have the duty and responsibility to manage their dogs.”

          ABSOLUTELY!

Why the hell do they want to call them Maha-Nayakas?

          Are they Boru-Nyakas or Pus-Nayakas?

They call themselves part of the Triple Gem.

          1. Buddha

          2. Dhamma

          3. Sangha. So Mahanayaks are part of the Triple Gem?

No. It Should be called Double Gem.

          1. Buddha

          2. Dhamma

This is called Sinhala Buddhism, aka Monk Mahanbama “Buddhism”.

The answer to the second part of your question is a big ‘YES’ and it will of no use trying to find answer to any other. The JVP over its various experiences since its inception has turned out to be matured party and, with the changed, leadership it could be noticed that it is taking a ‘principled stand’ on all issues rather than a ‘political stand’ to gain ‘instant popularity’ among voters. Although it would take time that JVP will be be only party that would play the ‘lead role’ in Sri Lanka’s politics and it will augur well for the people and the country.

It seems to me that JVP has come to the right path now. We must accept where or not we like, JVP is in front of all other forces. This is a clear indication that Sri Lanka has only one option, that is JVP. But my worry is COMMUNISM. When I hear Comminusim, it comes to my mind is China, Russia, Cuba…or no, I dont want Sri Lanka become another China or Russia.

I have a very good question:

As one living out of the country, I raise the question, why would be the outcome, if the ruling GOSL would take stern actions against these violent buddhist monks activities ? And even all other criminal activities that have become daily agendas to be seen on the national and pvt TV senders these days ?

As any right thinking would get it easiy, if the law would be applied properly, no such event like the yestreday incident (GAG´s far brutal behaviour)would have been the case, nor have such incident a place in the society.

So why is that SLGO pays a blind eye ?

Which advantages would have they achieved ?
If a law was in place, human right violations would have been reduced. That would then be a plus point our nation to tell the world that we have achieved them.

Nuwan, you have asked a good question. This is the main thing. If they had implemented the law after 2009, all these talks of UN resolutions would have not come about. But if they had gone by the law, then their power could not have been cultivated to this extent. It is not a very difficult thing to understand. These are people who do not understand the meaning of law so how can they respect the law?

The problem is not only the Rajapaksa rulers. It is also some sections of these stupid Sri Lankan people who, for their own advantage, try to pretend as if nothing wrong is happening. And worship them as if they are gods.

But I think if the politicians in power would introduce proper systems, ONLY THEN, they the average people would have the chance to grasp the values of them. Like prior to introduction of PROVINCIALCs two decades ago, people´s common THOUGHT was like ” giving the land to Tigers/tamils” as they feel even today, DEVOLUTION OF POWER is giving the land to minorities. However, today, PC have been a part of the system, although not enough powers are deligated to them. So the ruling administration should be able to strengthen these councils with the time, making the people further clear. This will take years, but rulers must not stagnated the process, as it is the now.May be Germany, Switzerland had also problems at the very begining EVEN if they were not comparable to those of lankens. Anyway, more the people are informed, quicker the process would go forward.

Like on the west, I believe, media institutions should do the primary role ON awareness programs reaching all circles. Buddhist monks,non-buddhist religious authorities could equally work on awarness programs with the people rather than showing themselves thuggish as it was the case with Ghanasara day before yesterday.

Sure the greater portion of the failur lies on people and their votes. This is common to any developing nation. On the west, if laws woul dnot work, people would criticise the parties while in our countries, perhaps, if a law would work, that could bring harm to their politics.
Rajapakshes use lanken poor people for their political survival, while the western countries do every bit in improving the quality of the people.

You know Chandra, it is like if we dont teach our children to behave well, they would never learn how to do so. So even if adults are not considered are children, but they would behave so, if they are not adequately informed. Even if lanka is said to be a nation with higher literacy rate, nevertheless their common sense is not even comparable to the margins of the average ones living on the devleoped world. Be it on day today activities, politics, health or anything, this is very clear if you would compare it with the average folks of develped world. This is the reason I believe them to take longer as needed to figure out which politician could lead them for a better future. In terms of dramatically increasing health problems of the country, there are various parameters that the researchers believe are the reasons.
And epidemilogical research prove that same ethinic groups behave so diverse depending on their eco environments. So people should be guided by introducing them with better and most appropriate new systems. So long people´s knolwedge is miles away, they have no other choice than being alert only to myths/perceptions/that they are familiar with/for ages/generations. Giving you one good example about our people (grown up in lanken buddhist cultures)- and their eating patterns. They would love to have principle food varieties that are overcooked/but prepared unhealthy manner becuase of lack of proper informaton. Only a small percentage that are informed but predominant majority to stay away from info. Today researchers have found enough so that people also in developing countries could prepare their meals enabling them a better and healthy life. Very recently several colleagues in reseach on Diabatology (Diabetes -Sugar disease) raised the question why south asians are highly vulnarable of adult/paediatric Diabetes today. It´s all because lack of info lead them to eat RUWANWALISAYA like mountain of rice (carbohydrate rich meal) three times a day.

Having lived on the west for so long (western Europe on several cities), I have the feeling, would that have ever been permitted, if I behaved the way Ghanasara did it ( in a thuggish manner) day before yday, what would have been the consequences for me. I would immediately have been taken to custody and even kept days on remand until the case is heard. He would have been warned not to repeat such harrasments even convicting him in compliance with the civil law of the country. Be it in Germany, England, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Beligium, Luxemburg, France, all these countries (they are proved to have record high standards of human rights) and their police would have equally done the job as I descriebed above.

But in Srilanka/my country of origin, where I just completed my schooling/two year Uni edu and finally escaped my life from eighties insurgency– even 2 days after the GAG human right violation is occured, nothing like any single statement was issued by any of the responsible ministers/authorities (Defence, Justice, Law and order). Nor have any non govt organisations raised the issue. As if Ghanasara should be above the law – is not even touched by any police, nor is he in remand yet, – is this at all exemplary to any other like minded criminal that would tomorrow attack my aged mother or father on street or anywhere ?

Function of public laws are very important and indispensable. The Laws on the west in general are very powerful. They work as the paragraphs describe them, be you are a prominent person or not. Like the man, whose support to the Bavarian soccer league was indispensable, but the blunders in terms of abusing taxes going behind the laws were dominated in that case, and he was convicted with 3 years jail session.

I know this comment would be subjected to ridicule by many- saying that those countries have no democratic values. But what do we have in srilanka today ?. Have we the very basic rights though the state is called to be a socialist democratic republic of srilanka, I believe without rigorous law implemenation, no country has achieved their targets in economy, social, security, education, sports or any areas.

My wife would not risk go out in SL during the short period that she would stay in srilanka, but on the west, be it on london, Geneva, Berlin or even in any small or big cities in Europe, she has the confidence to go out with her friends and colleagues without any hesitation. –this is the reaon why I think rule of law and order is the foundation for progress of the nation/country in today´s context.

But I am not happy about the JVP’s selection of words to condemn the incident “වැරදි පූර්වාදර්ශය” (wrong precedent). It definitely under-represent the gravity of the problem.

      0

While it is correct to point out that the wording in one instance of the JVP statement characterizing the BBS action as a “wrong precedent” is inadequate or even wrong, the JVP statement should be overwhelmingly appreciated strongly denouncing the BBS thuggery and intimidation and also clearly pointing out “the fact that the BBS could do all this in the very presence of the Police clearly shows that their actions are state sponsored.”

The JVP and others should be encouraged to do more against the BBS as an emerging neo-fascist threat against the minorities and democracy in the country.

        Dr. Fernando@,
Why is that even if JVP or others would have raised the voice, nothing seem to work until today ?
I now believe, there does exist and very active – secret movements in the country similar to the functions of former eastern Germany ´s STASI.
I really dont think that OPPOSITION stayed mum if would take the last 6 months. But we all see that none of their issues ended up successfully. Almost every issues would seem to have short life in lanken media. I will list the followings descending to the time.

a)Biggest crime investigation – heavy loads of drugs alleged to have trafficked ot the country with the approval of PM office (with or without the direct order by PM)- this was initiated like 6 months ago, but nothing heard in terms of final verdicts of the case yet – where have the accountablitiy, transparency gone ?

b)Containers of illegally imported Alcohol – this was also initiated, but none of us got to read any kind of end convictions for anyone that perpetrated all these

        c) Baratha murder – to that time, all blatant lies were sowed keeping away the alleged key accused person of the killing, away from court investigation. The man is evidently behaveing very healthy today, as nothing like a heavy damaged skull/brain lost his memories. President himself had visited the man during his hospitalization, but everything were kept secret from the all and sundry, if anyone of us would have the chance to get to medical source documenation of the alleged criminal, by contacting the Singporian hospital authorities, we could know better what had been going on during that 2 black years.
So, nowadays, the man is scot free and become philantorpist as reading/hearing on the public news

why cant any of opposition parties start protests asking just the justice and fairness ?Why they stay as if they are powerless ? What would be the case if JVP would start it being the first ? From the election results what became clear was, people in this country have yet no such respect towards JVPers, but then why UNPers stays with their tails hidden ?
Best thing, if SF had all powers to do so, he would have started the parade. His is having no all rights – with numerous cases on going, he is made somewhat powerless. But I hope – if things would stay so, protests like arab springs would not be far from us

          Sama ,

As we all know UNP is run by MR’s opposition affairs cabinet minister RW , what do you expect ? Remember how Ranil the clown behaved run up to CJ’s impeachment saga ? he was blabbering and hiding behind the ” parliament is supreme” BS (how can it be , when opposition MPs have been bought for money other perks ), so it is pointless to talk about RW and his old guards , JVP will have a long way to go , first they have to gain the trust & respect from the wider community and get rid of that Lenin/che old doctrine and come up with an acceptable 21 st century governing mechanism !

SF has had his chance but didn’t get materialize for bizarre reasons , now he too will have a long way to go get that momentum back !

though every body seems to jump up & down condemning Mr Gnasara’s antics ,don’t forget this is yet another exclusive production from the very same cult which has been directing & producing endless day time soap earlier for mass consumption ( Grease Yaka, geneva, LTTE bogy , Gobi et al) ,now as anticipated , gullible masses will be preoccupied with this topic until another production comes out.

and why is that people behaved as if they are shocked ?
See yesterday´s incident, none of them showed their emotions, but just let it go. Ghanasara could even behave as if he is not second to frankenstein. That poor thero was intimidated, he from his appearence her looked a gentle kind of person, but behaved himself as Ghanasara wanted him to. But today, he has expressed his views that due to dueress only, he made that statements. Ghansara is unpredictable – how can such a human being ever be a cheevara dressed sanga ?
Why malwathuchapter, most sacred theros stay mum ?
Why cathelic priest stay mum ?
why muslim prists stay further mum ?

              Sama ,

“unpredictable – how can such a human being ever be a cheevara dressed sanga ? “

because it is the 2nd most easiest & convenient way to get the attention & break the law after being a politician .

“Why malwathuchapter, most sacred theros stay mum ?”

it is because they have far more important issues to attend , i.e awarding special Titles to Modawansa for being a true patriot etc.

“Why cathelic priest stay mum ?”

it is because first lady is in his good books.

” why muslim prists stay further mum ?”

              i’ve no idea.

” What else should have occured all them to go against the brutal regime we ever had in the history “

in SL , every body pretends nothing is happening , only if & when there is an issue for their dear lives , then they will open their mouths i.e katunayake , Halawatha , Waliweriya debacles !

We dont need to criticise JVP. That is even more contraproductive. Instead we need to work with them. We should be very happy to have them at least to have raised the voice in this way, nobody else, their leader has made this statement while UNP, DP and the others, law association, lawyers collective, other buddhist clergies, have not made it yet publicly. So guys, dont try to find the hair in bowls.
I think it is high time to go heavily against this kind of human rights violation being made publicly.

      Upasiri de Silva,

BBS and Gnanasara is a Gota’s creation. Gota is the biggest funder of BBS supplying Intelligence service personnel and mega millions to buy super luxury vehicles, land cruisers, mini vans and intelligent reports.

Gota encroaches in colombo and other Towns urban lands, while depriving helpless, plwerless and poor voiceless people their right to live. It was Gota who chased all poor beggars from Colombo and other towns without finding any means for them to surview.

This happenes when President Builds Mattala Airport in thick Jungle in the middle of animal habitat clearing over 1000 acres of thick jungle.

Also MR built Suriyawewa Cricket stadium again clearing over 1000 acres of Jungle, animal habitat and cultivable land where people lived before.

Now there are droughts all over Sri Lanka.

MR/ Gota combination destroying our country for ever. The cunning, greedy and Fake Buddhists.

    Nirmal Ranjith,

I welcome this statemetn from the JVP.

It is something while spineless, corrupt, infighting, self-serving forever jokers of the UNP are asleep.

Agree. JVP could have used harsher words. But, looks like they have a well thought out, responsible approach/reaction. Keeping emotions under control.

We are in dangersous waters. BBS monkeys are drumming up religious nationalism across the country.

      Ben Hurling

      “වැරදි පූර්වාදර්ශය” (wrong precedent)

This is bit rich specially coming from JVP.

JVP first set dangerous precedent in 1971 by launching an armed struggle against the state. It was followed suit by LTTE. Both were wrong. MR was JVP’s human rights champion while it was killing and maiming innocent Sinhalese people.

Read below for what it demanded from MR:

“The JVP delegation pointed out to the President their continued silence in the face of Governnment’s dealings with the LTTE has affected their credibility and would therefore have to take a decision shortly if no steps are taken against the tigers as demanded by the party.”

      http://www.thesundayleader.lk/archive/20060716/news.htm

“The JVP which filed a fundamental rights application in the Supreme Court calling for the de-merger of the North-East and holding of elections to the Eastern Provincial Council Friday morning reiterated their demand for the demerger with the President.

      http://www.thesundayleader.lk/archive/20060716/news.htm

Guess who was presiding, yes it was Sarath de Silva who refused to allow the Tamil side to argue their case. We can discuss merit of merger or de-merger of two or more provinces until cows come home however the fact of the matter is when JVP was in bed with Sarath de Silva JVP was setting very, very very, ….wrong precedents.

Here is an except from Wikileak:

“Under the subheading “SILVA’S MOTIVES POLITICAL, NOT JUDICIAL” charge d’affairs James wrote “Legal insiders say that while they are pleased with the recent rulings, they are not necessarily the result of an improved judiciary, but rather, are born in part out of De Silva’s political ambitions and alliances. Embassy contacts say De Silva has close ties to members of the Sinhalese nationalist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), who are increasingly displeased with the Rajapaksa administration and who back De Silva’s recent decisions. Former Attorney General and De Silva colleague, Shibly Aziz, told us De Silva was ‘riding the wave’ of JVP and Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) support. He cited the rapid fire manner in which the Court issued decisions in June designed to target the President and his Administration and win popularity with the public. Aziz explained that De Silva was playing to Buddhist sensitivities while portraying himself as a populist who is not anti-Tamil. Bhavani Fonseka, Senior Researcher at the Center for Policy Alternatives (CPA), claimed that De Silva made the politically savvy decision to stay the eviction of Tamils from Colombo in order to garner UNP and public support while still maintaining his allegiance to the JVP which expressed its disapproval of the evictions in a June 7 session of Parliament. Saliya Pieris, a prominent private attorney that tries Supreme Court cases, told us other judges privately say De Silva has gone as far as engineering cases he wants to adjudicate by inviting petitioners to file their case using lawyers known to him.”

      https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/wikileaks-ex-cj-sarath-silvas-judicial-pedigree/

JVP is another opportunist party therefore don’t put all your eggs in one basket. JVP also thrived on the back of Monks, they too killed monks who opposed them, and state also killed monks who supported them.

      Whatever goes around, comes around.

By the way, JVP never apologised to the people for its massive contribution to destruction.

They are yet to produce a list of murders they carried out in the 1970s and between 1987 and 1991. Remember JVP never surrendered their arms.

        Native,

What you mention in your response is all true.

I am troubled by the lack of a convincing apology by the new JVP about their bloody past. They must apologise properly to the nation.

I am also uneasy with their dogmatic worship of ideology as well. Rather than practical solutiions.

Nevertheless, I recognize the progress they have made.

They have now become almost Ghandian in their determination to stay away from political violence. I don’t completely trust them in this regard yet.

There is a long way to go before they can win my heart and mind completely. But, they are on tarck, it seems.

JVP has a critical role to play. Specially against the two main utterly corrupt political parteis & cronies that operate in our political landscape.

I wish the JVP luck. And will support them on a case by case basis for now.

        Cheers!

          Ben Hurling

          Thanks for your response.

          Two interrelated issues;

Has JVP under new leaderhip abandoned its outdated infamous “five classes”, one in which JVP brands Upcountry hard working people as fifth column, a racist and anti working class analysis.

Secondly have they accepted Provincial Councils as a way forward to decentralise power to the people if properly constructed and deal with minority issues. JVP not only opposed it tooth and nail but went to war with the state, an opportunistic war which cost the state and JVP heavily and the people suffered because JVP never fought for the people.

Though it opposed provincial councils it continues to contest elections. Its members are comfortable with their conscious while enjoying the perk and power that councils provide for its elected members. JVP never made its position clear.

It seems JVP is an organised hypocrisy with an option to use unlimited violence.

Only the JVP has taken the trouble to condemn this incident. The secular liberal UNP is very quiet. In fact the TNL TV run by RW’s bro proudly announced that this was a great VICTORY for the Buddhist.

If you watch TNL you will begin to wonder whether RW is a racist as well. In fact the Govt TV media dont go to such extremes as TNL which runs down and demonises the Muslim community.

Where is UNP, where are the leaders of UNP Ranil, Sajith, Karu; where is Mano Ganeshan, where is Rauff Hakim, why are these guys not opening their mouths. I think JVP is on a upswing. Shame on the other politicians including SLFP senior politicians and Chandrika.

Two groups of “militant bhikkus” fighting each other maybe the final nail on the coffin of ‘Sinhala Buddhism’.
The Ministry of Buddha Sasana should intervene.

    My Dear JVP Brothers.

First of all we are very grateful that finally you show that you are the only Party that represents all communities in Sri Lanka.

Thank you JVP for coming foreward again to make your voice herd for Helpless, poor, voiceless and powerless people in all communities of Sri Lanka.

I stil have some crucial questions that I need answers. They are…..

1)Where were BBS when President Rajapakse Built Mattala Airport NOW IDLING IN THE THICK JUNGLE and a ANIMAL HABITAT COVERING OVER 1000 ACRES OF THICK JUNGLE, PERMANENTLY COVERED WITH CONCRETE DESTROYING ECO SYSTEM, ANIMAL HABITAT, SAUNA AND FLORA AND FUTURE AGRIABLE LAND WITH VIRGIN HIGH RICH SOIL.

    2) Where were BBS when Pres.Rajapakse cleared over 500 acres of THICK JUNGLE AND A ANIMAL HABITAT IN SURIYAWEWA TO BUILD A HUGE CRICKET STADIM WITH NO USE AT ALL.

    3) Where was BBS when Pres.Rajapakse built a Harbour in Hambanthota dredging out over 500 acres of land into the sea and covering another 500 acres with concrete which was previously cultivated and where people lived, now turned into a DESERT.

4)Where does BBS gets funds to drive THEIR OWN SUPER LUXURY LAND CRUISERS, A/C LUXURY MINIVANS, MERCEDES BENZ CARS AND TAKING A LOAD OF ENTOURAGE ALONG WITH THEM WHERE EVER THEY GO.

5)Who gave authority to BBS to interfere in Peoples daily lives, when there’s a ministry of Land, Justice, rehabilitation and re-settlement been appointed by the President.

6)Who gave authority to BBS to disrupt, harass, talk in filthy language and threat of death openly in public. Aren’t people have the right of free speech and right to express their views.

7)Are BBS the sole representatives of the whole “Sanga Sabawa” in Sri Lanka. Who gave them that authority and why.

8)Who authorised BBS to take Intelligence service unit personnel when they travel……(In the video clip we see some personnel who look like Intelligence unit personnel)….Watch carefully.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ-6-6ZEd7E

9)Is police department is there to carry out Law and order and Justice in the country, or they merely take orders from a single VIP person irrespective of Law and justice when on duty.

10)Is there anybody or any authority that is available to listen and to take action against INJUSTICE towards Minority communities, helpless and powerless people.

    11) Where is Ministry of Justice, Supreme court, Bar Association, Opposition Parties(other than JVP) NGOs, foreign Missions, Religious groups, HR groups,UN, CW, and EU and SARC countries……..Aren’t they see what is going on in Sri Lanka today.

12)Finally are all the above ARE WAITING AND LOOKING SILENTLY UNTIL ANOTHER 1983 LIKE PROGROM to take place with MASSACRE, BLODSHED, LOOT AND MURDER TO TAKE PLACE AGAIN TO MAKE THEIR VOICE.

Come on JVP. You are currently the only true peoples party and you should prove that only you could resolve peoples problems and could avoid another 1983 Genocidal Progrom.

We herd BBS Gnanasara been summoned to Police on April 12th and want to know if you plan to discuss or interview him. He should be sent to Jail ASAP to protect our country. This is a walking TIME BOMB WHICH COULD EXPLODE ANYTIME.

    http://www.adaderana.lk/news/gnanasara-thero-summoned-by-police-

All our support and vote for you JVP, THE TRUE PEOPLES PARTY.

Please find answers to the above questons.

Very good statement by JVP that is to the exact point other than trying to pin it on the government.

Oh, the Stupid One is again worried because of the reference to state sponsored in the JVP statement. Other than that, everything else is OK, says he!

Why don’t you tell us how much you are being paid by the Maras? We understand your pain!

lol why don’t you prove the link between the Rajapakshe and BBS? at-least to justify your NGO paymasters dollars?

I stand by my statement. An idling couple of police officers who were outnumbered by the monks and out-voiced by the stern speaking secretary of BBS is not enough prove a link between government and BBS. If you closely listened to the video than rushing here to bash Rajapakshe like the NGO lap dog you are you will notice BBS secretary criticizing the government for not taking action against what he sees as Islamist extremism too.

The JVP is as chauvinistic as the other Sinhala parties and their track record prove this. The old leftists have not come out and criticised this saffron robed thug and this is because they are with the regime that supports this thug.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Sri Lankan people were gutsy enough to demand the media institutes release the uncut videos of the whole incident to the internet.

Comparing videos put out by different media organizations it is evident that the incident has been a lot uglier than what was shown on news telecasts. Probably in their misguided notion of “protecting Buddhism” they seem to have removed the most repulsive behavior of the monk thug.

Why is the Justice Minister silent being a Muslim? When Ganasara threatened him in public calling Rauff Hakeem a “Pariah and must be cut into pieces….and also disgraced the Muslim community” during the Western Provincial elections, upto now he has not taken any action to send a letter of demand or file a defamation case. If a justice minister can be called a Pariah etc.. and if the Minister keeps quite, that means he accepts that he is a Pariah or else, he is only an actor in a drama along with Ghanasara. If he accepts that he is a Pariah is a Pariah fit to be a Minister of justice? Had he (and some others)filed a few defamation cases for a couple of billions, Ghanasara can be restrained atleast for some time or for ever. It is a shame on many selfish Muslim Ministers and MP’s who hardly defend their own community but are only greedy for money and positions. Many should be chased-out at the next election. One has to be grateful to the new JVP leader for being a fearless voice and who speaks very logically in many parliamentary debates. Hope he will be a great leader one day.

Rauf Hakeem is keeping his mouth shut for fear of losing all the perks and by virtue of the fact that Hitlerpassa has the “Kumari File” under his constructive control.

No man, he thought that he could achieve even more if he supported MR. But to that point of time, not knowing how unpredictable MR could be. Now, Minister Hakeem is made victim to both sides; to his community and UPFA. He has not voice within the coalition either. Today, as we are all aware of the fact, MR is the highly abusive leader as no comparable to any other political leaders. He just abused former CJ Dr SB and dissmissed her within few days- even if local opposition and IC were totally against the unconstitutional constitution. So were the facts related to General fonseka. CBK was cornered by him though Bandaranayakes paved the way him to become what he is today. Anyway any leader with sound knowledge of asian politics, would see, how incapable MR has been in terms of his external affairs. Internationally man is cornered as had been the case for former iranian or lybian leaders.

Actually, minister of justice should react accordingly. He can even raise the issue before the president, if he is clean enough to do so.
Just hiding his tail behind can help anyone neither muslim community nor srilanken community as a whole. For what purpsose he should enjoy his head of ministerial position, if he cant react independently. This is a question that I pose for the last 10 months, having compared the manner his counterparts in each of european democracies function independently.

These are simple. All the police stations under Mount Lavinia Police division are protecting all illegal garages and take monthly money from these illegal garages. Some police stations are controlling by three wheel drivers. Good example is Piliyandala, Boralsgamuwa and Kahathuduwa police stations. For nights these three wheel drivers and traders go to police stations to drink. Piliyndala police stations completely run by Dammika textile shop owner and three wheel drivers.
