The Intelligence officer who was arrested in connection to the murder of Sunday Leader founding editor Lasantha Wickrematunge has been remanded till July 27 by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate.
The intelligence officer is a Sergeant Major and was arrested by the CID on Friday over his alleged involvement in the murder.
Wickrematunge, a strong critic of the government under former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was killed in January 2009 while he was on his way to work.

So, if the the country does not want to have the death penalty, if found guilty, they can at least give life imprisonment with hard labor. Thre killer will still be living longer on this earth than Lasnatha.

All across SL , our law and order officers are fully involved or have connivance with murders and frauds. That’s in their blood stream. Above them are the biggest top notch politicians. Including leaders of the country.
Then come the youngster’s, who have got ample lot easy money , in SL or come home on holidays with refugee money. They are well involved with policemen for rape and murder innocent young females.
Till all law and order officials are fixed SL will be cursed country! !!!
