The daughter of Sunday Leader murdered Editor Lasantha Wickrematunge, Ahimsa filed action against Nandasena Gotabaya Rajapaksa in the courts of Los Angeles, California requesting a Jury trial and compensation. Gotabaya who was the Secretary of the Defence Ministry was widely known to be single minded and ruthless. His ruthlessness pervaded all he perceived and was not restricted to the LTTE.
Unlike strictures that bound other Secretaries of Ministries Gotabaya was not bound to follow any such rules. He was often seen making political speeches on behalf of his brothers and extended family. Any other government servant would have been issued a show cause and summarily dismissed. No, not Gotabaya. Apart from the whispered stories of white van abductions alluded to Gotabaya many were the published news of threats to journalists such as Poddala Jayantha and Fredrica Jansz. Yet this man wishes to be President of this country.
“There is no progress without discipline”, says Gotabaya throwing his hat into the ring to run for President. What about discipline for him? White vans, abductions, murder??? Is he a psychopath? Discipline? Certain signs of a budding dictator.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa was seen singing and partying with his ex Army buddies at the residence of his buddy Malraj de Silva ex Army surveyor whose wife runs montessori schools in Los Angeles. Never did he envisage that action would be filed against him as he had hired a legal firm headed by an Indian to cover his back.
Summons were served on Gotabaya on Sunday evening when he was shopping at a Trader’s Joe store. A tap on his back, “Mr Nandasena Gotabaya, summons for you” whilst photo evidence was also obtained shocked the once all powerful man. Let us watch how this action unfolds. Whilst Gotabaya answers whether he gave orders, executed the dastardly deed or supervised. That is the killing of the Internationally celebrated journalist Lasantha Wickrematunge recipient of the World Journalism Hero award and the UN award for Integrity. Lasantha was vilified by the Rajapaksas. But perhaps like all cowards he gave the nod to his trusted ex Army Intelligence Chief who passed down this to the next line and finally to foot soldiers who simply kill people not
known to them for the perks that come with it. Maybe overseas appointments to Embassies et al.
Let us hope that justice for Lasantha and the others will be met by a foreign country as Sri Lanka flounders on.

Well, there are fervent supporters of The Great Liberator who could be so incensed that they would take unilateral action. Accidents happen, in Sri Lanka. Right? My learned friend cites the instance of Dr Mackwood, our fleeting diplomat, who succumbed to a thunderous slapping at the hand of the Coordinating Secretary thuggy. The red-faced doctor took no action; not in New York, not in Colombo. He had all the witnesses he needed. Why? I leave you, good reader, to reach a logical conclusion.

The brave Sripathi met his maker after a genuine accident. Yes, it is true he made his lord and master very angry, and many wished ‘he would go away’. However, the cause of the accident was the usual powerful vehicle falling foul of our poorly built roads.
No, I am not ‘looking for anything’ on behalf of the clan. An old auntie told me once that “if you lie down with dogs, you end up with fleas”. I am happy simply to observe at arms-length the bizarre things that our power hungry Sri Lankans get up to.

May be Gotabaya returned to the island today. But that means nothing. With Wikileaks creater being caught yestreday, that shows that the criminals would not be given chances to roam forrever. Gotler – the idiamin of srilanka will have to face the music next days with Pohottuwa is NOW subjected to ALL repurcusions these days. I have no doubt, we see the light at the end of tunnel, regarding the nemesis of Rajaakshe family. Be them BP Mahinda Rajapakshe or any others, the crucial time ahead of PE, will show them a good lession. If that would not be the case, the teachings of Lord Buddha would not have any values. Gota looks a bit dismayed in this photo.A previous one i saw just before this was taken,had a bit of a happy face whre he thought at last some srilankans had thought of him and his good deeds for the country and handing him something for aluth avuruddu.What people like gota need is a lot of love and affection.They are not cold hearted reptiles,but warm blooded mammals.they have become like that because craving and not getting love and affection.Instead of this kind of stuff if a aluth avuruddu present was given a different gota will emerge when he leaves the US and comes back here.

For two good reasons in my view , people must reject Gota ! Reason
number one is , he was brought down by his president brother for a
better life in Srilanka . Reason number two is , he came back to
Srilanka for a better life that he didn’t find in the US . He definitely
didn’t come back home to confront L T T E and on the contrary the
brothers believed they could achieve a better peace deal than Ranil
in the long run if not for the L T T E attempt on Gota’s life and the
isolation of L T T E by land , sea and air ! If anyone is under the
impression that the country needs good behaviour in the name of
discipline , need of the hour , they are deaf and blind in terms of free
thinking people . What this type of people are really longing for is a
dictator to silence largely the minority voices and then the UNP .
This is nothing new but a long time cry and experience of leftist and
racist forces in the Rajapaksha camp. These forces have found an
ideal guy and a reason to hoodwink their own people . If Gota’s
so called war victory is the major achievement he has in his hand to
ask for votes , is it a war situation that he is coming back to win
again ? But don’t they say everyday that the war is over and they
finished it off and now we have peace ? He is going on 70 now , the
right age to embark on a new and the most demanding job ? IS THIS

it is not what you and i think,but what the majority of people think that counts.He should be allowed to contest as that is the way a pure democracy works.I heard that fonseka is being tranferred as minister of interior and it has been sent by Pm to the president to sign it.I hope he does not in his greed for another term.Why they are doing this is the minister of interior can use a clause in the constitution due to this legal matter in the US and cancel gota’s sri lankan citizenship.How can you do that to a person who has only lived 20 years of his 70 years abroad.All dual citizens are in danger now and what a cheap way to try and win an election.First they knocked mahinda out by saying two terms only.then they barred namal saying president has to be over 35 years.Now they are trying to get rid of gota by getting rid of his sri lankan citizenship like as if he was born and bred in the moon for 50 years.Why can’t these buggers just do a good job and ask the people to vote for them.They have to be always doing these kind of underhand things because they are corrupt just as much as the rajapakshe regime and also incompetent.

My point here is not about who if not Gota ! It’s simply about NO Gota !
And people must reject him , not that he should be stopped from
contesting , through conspiracies ! Remember that Mahinda lost to
the majority that was created and not existed at the time he sought
re-election . And of course I was part of that majority that wanted him
out ! So , don’t say it’s not you and me that count . And remember it was
the 18th amendment that created a 19th amendment to stop playing
games in politics . Politics in our country is not family business
although certain families are hell bent to own it . Nobody should think
that without them the country can not run . Gota’s tactics is to tell the
people ” hey guys , I gave up US citizenship for you” which is a trick
to win fools’ sympathy votes as if it is a huge sacrifice on his part !
I personally don’t see a leader in him whether my opinion counts or

i also want people to reject hi.So you and i are on the same wave lengh here.Better to let him contest and get rejected.I believe he will get something between 45 to 48 % less than what mahinda got which was 48.5 % i believe.Let the rajapakshes know that they are finished without any skullduggery on the part of their opponents.The people must firmly get into their heads to look for someone else.

If GR returns to Sri Lanka from the USA in the near future he will get a rousing welcome which in turn would give him a massive boost in the current political arena. Come what may his sins of the past would be portrayed as a national hero. UNP, on the other hand, was granted an ideal opportunity in 2015 to regain its lost glory which they failed miserably. Thanks for the Bond scam and other ill-fated deals. President Sirisena also had his role in their debacle. As a result, people are fed up with the present government and President Sirisena already joined hands with Mahinda Rajapakse to safeguard his future. Therefore summons or demand letter issued to GR won’t cause a significant impact on him as he is also a Sri Lankan. Mahinda and clan will try alternate ways to overcome this problem. But the whole episode would have taught the Sri Lankan politicians and other high rankers a good lesson that no one can escape after committing any human rights violations in Sri Lanka and elsewhere.

Little by little home involvement in this case is coming out. Old Brother Prince seems to be accusing American-CA consul having played a part.
Earlier Jagath case was defeated by Brazil. They informed Lanakwe and had removed him before police arrest. But conveniently Aanduwa created a story Tamils worked with ITJP played double game. This Lanakwe Aanduwa hoped will insert a permanent wedge between Tamils and ITJP. But when the Brazil refused to take Jagath, Lankawe shut off Brazil’s sugar, saying it was being used to smuggle drugs. As there was need to keep Jagath out the country, he was sent to China.
This time ITJP has gone with a partner, Ahimsa. That part was the one this time leaked. Few days ago Lasantha’s Brother denied of he having filed any lawsuit other than the one in Lankawe. But internal-home help still worked out to nap Old Brother Prince. Maha Viyath seems to be aware of (, at least most of the people, ) all local-home played a roll in his nap.

I agree with you Sir. These people are too mentally sick to be politicians. We need to see some young well educated not corrupted men and women of Srilanka in the future political arena. If that happens in Srilanka then I would definitely reunciate my citizenship in the western country. My dream is to see Srilanka in the future like Singapore where people from all ethnic background live peacefully and respect each other’s faith and not to hate. I was born in Srilanka and lived almost all part of Srilanka in the early 80s and I can tell you that this is from my own experience (I am not talking about others openion about Srilanka) the best time. baila music, the toddy , food of course and the Srilankan people….well the list goes on. There is so much hate and racism going on now among all the Srilankans. All the comments I read on this site are based on hate and racism. My mother is Tamil and my dad is from Scottish parents owned tea plantations in Srilanka. Some of my uncles and aunts were Singala , jaffna tamil and Malay. Unfortunately they have all passed now and kids spreads around the world. I fuckin miss the Srilankan arrack.
