Leaderless Nation That Lives In Hope

By Gomin Dayasri

Gomin Dayasri

Look around and pick a leader capable of pulling the country fallen into an awful rot; landing in the bin is a responsibility shared. To reach a level of sensibility is the initial task-not to touch greatness, bespoken on political platforms.

It discounts politicians that enjoyed/s power – in past and present tense. Virtually impossible based on their past performances.

Don’t be nihilistic-think differently. Make an effort to retract the slide downhill, before climbing an anthill. Hit ground level and take stock of the findings on soil. Descend from dizzy heights to unaccustomed reality, difficult for an over inflated nation after defeating terrorism.

The ‘glory men’ are at the cleaners.

All is not lost. There are a few in every political party, hibernating in a year around winter unwanted by the leadership; making it near impossible to find a footrest to touch rank. They speak their minds unguardedly to the leaders. When desperation strikes, they are the coming men. Wait in hope for that day, Sri Lanka is not a losers’ paradise.

Sirisena needs another election to fix him at proper political proportions. Presently an inflated midget but has genuinely grown in stature, while in office after being a mere makeshift man. Company he keeps amongst the electorates discarded candidates and as the party president of the SLFP to keep the UNP in power is irreconcilable and is for his personal benefit. His days are numbered till the people next vote on discovery. Best course is to retire honourably to be remembered for services rendered before an obvious downfall. A lesson Rajapaksa failed to learn – a third term is not a possibility even for a war hero gone sour. End of term will not take Sirisena to a nirvana even in the district of Polonnaruwa.

The rot in Lanka started long before Sirisena ascended to Presidency. Worse is unfolding, as a divided government appears split; SLFP MP’s sit on the lap of the President to derive perks, but mock him in the company of the former President to make both look silly as the voters know the merry dances the two waltzing Matildas perform, together with their party men.

To be judgmental, life is harder than before for the people, who undergo power disruptions at the drop of a hat. Economic hardships do not touch the Finance Minister’s wallet and are of little
concern to him. Who is the bright lad that appointed him to a post of high integrity that needs the common touch of the man in the street who feels the pinch most? His selector is not with the people.

Foreigners, to whom we sold the country by signing a joint resolution with the USA, offer incentives to their citizens to withdraw funds invested, that gave us a degree of stability; now lost as green notes fly back home. Can foreign investors place confidence in a government that fails to give teeth to a budget passed without legislation for Inland Revenue to collect the necessary? Next mini budget will drive even the ever faithful away.

Toys of the terrorists are now common discoveries as more remains are being unearthed. Insecurity may surface to cause panic, as the Government is bending backwards to secure the northern vote mindful of a fast decline of its clutch in the south. From which quarter terrorism will originate is a question unanswered. Doubt is more harmful, while offenders roam free to please the TNA that placed Sirisena and the UNP Government in office.

One government failed to offer genuine relief sufficiently speedily to the north while another offered it too rapidly without due concern for security. The North takes everything with both hands and cries for more and more since they are brain washed to ask for the maximum to destabilize the south, in return for doing no more than accepting anything on offer. Who gains? Those that thrive are looking for another blood bath. Bad feelings linger on without a fix.

Our finest hour dawned when we had the world at our feet on overcoming terrorism for more than a fleeting moment (Including from the marauding West); An euphoric leadership with a small mind squandered in failing to rebuild an integrated society that can live in amity forever.

That would have paid eternal dividends to the credit of the ‘most’ rabid Sinhalese. Opportunity was thrown away but would the Tamils have responded without a stable leadership to appreciate what was on offer?

In a rare gesture of friendship southern Sinhalese symbolically sent a food train to the helpless Tamils in the North after the war, before TNA leadership could squat in an open-air toilet in Jaffna. It stopped with just one isolated act of publicized charity. Give credit to such as Gunadasa Amarasekera who initiated the move; sad indeed to see a great man stand forlorn relegated to a minor character standing in a temporary shed to watch the re-launch a twice defeated candidate at Hyde Park. Poor Gunadasa – man of value is manipulated to gain mileage. He too is stupid to be used.

Are the Rajapaksas’ fourth coming to an effort to save his country or his degenerated family from the laws of the land?

Through a popular man others want to find places in the sun for more fun and frolic and urge him on to his distraught. Rajapaksa, lately, shows lack of character and craftiness as the men he selects for a Government in the clouds, consist of any rubbish that comes a begging to him – making a troupe out of such as Sarath N. Silva, who ruined the judiciary once, the smart Dayan Jayatilleka, once banished from his political foreign service or G.L. Peiris, educated man with varied political stances to enlarge his wander lust at State expense, are his thinking tinkers, that will rather distract voters. Juggling the competing trio, in typical Rajapaksa style is simplistic: humour them but shun advice of the ”mola-karayas” (brain trust): instead give ear to Wimal or Udaya as they function at his wavelength to reach the gallery.

There were many that expected before the elections at least a ‘mini messiah’ will arise to erase corruption but after the results he looks more like a shunted dwarf or a snow white that never woke up to a Prince Charming. Role fits Ranil Wickremesinghe- a leader found wanting in the shortest time frame. Wickremesinghe legend will forever keep the UNP in the outer fringes of power, being transparent, is found out fast, as he truly speaks his mind.

Integrity needs a near lifetime to earn but is lost before you say the name of the Governor of the Central Bank. Ranil Wickremesinghe thought unfit to lead the country by himself and his own party has proved the point. His future is dependent on the fragmentation of the opposition and not on his name or fame but on UNP’s past–thought of more badly than favorably.

Downfall of Governments is accelerated often by the conduct of the public servants positioned at the top by the politicians. Office of President Rajapaksa was no different, if at all the worst. A self-taught smart architect of political concepts, resourceful Rajapaksa was too lazy to place it on the drawing board, did not know sufficient English to sign post it and developed a bad habit in selecting a group of habitual non-performers, who knew rudimentary English, to keep a President aloft to an English speaking society.

They indulged more in their own image building exercises and being in Rajapaksa’s inner-circle did his concierge services vainly. Rajapaksa’s weakness was in his kindness; in not removing them, when most around including himself, spoke openly of their weaknesses. If he returns they will be again be in the saddle to ruin him once more. However, none can hold to the standards of Wijeyadasa or Weerakoone or Amerasinghe or Rajendra or Rasaputram or Rajapathirana of yore. India has a stout Civil and Foreign Services, which Sri Lanka lacks due to over-politicisation.

‘Doers’ and the ‘shakers’ were too hazardous; they would learn too much, sufficient to shake an administration. Having them as permanent outsiders, was safer than placing them in an inside track. Downfall of every Government was /is in living with sycophants. They give Paracetmol relief, welcome to politicians in anguish.

Indeed a sad state in a country of ability and talent. Problem is in the style of politics –no decent man cares to enter the arena knowing to survive, it is necessary to join an ill-famed circle or be a tom-tom beater of a political master. Honest few are treated as ‘queers’ kept for cosmetic effect, away from any place a treasure hunter will tread. Such are the unwanted placed in cold storage.

Search is for chorus boys that extol the virtues of their masters. Politicians either exploit or get exploited-there is no third way.

Sycophants tell that they can read the minds of their maestros. Surely can as they do it skillfully. Blame is showered only after a defeat for overdoing too much on overtime. Deep down, it is overdone by fawning public servants and elected palace guards. They are the best candidates to turn crown witnesses or face cases that are deliberately crashed for lack of evidence un-presented by wonky prosecutors. Few know they are the willing agents of the local killing fields.

Who do we turn to in a crisis, which we are in, yet exist unknowingly or to tell more – there is none that can find a solution singularly. In the plural the solutions found are exclusively for the gain of a group.

We fight best, when caught against the wall for a beating in making the renowned come back as in the war.

We are in the hands of men of whom respect has faded away. Look to the next generation for possible salvation.

“We are in the hands of men of whom respect has faded away. Look to the next generation for possible salvation.”

Yes, time for a New Constitutional Revolution with Separation of State and Religion.

A New Constitution where All those who were Politicians for more than 6 years are qualified.

“Look around and pick a leader capable of pulling the country fallen into an awful rot”

        Mr Gomin Dayasri,

To be an exemplary leader, one first has to be an exemplary man.

The sad travesty of the Sri Lankan situation is, non-exemplary men going around looking for exemplary leaders!

Mr Gomin Dayasri, like you have professed, if you want a great leader from the next generation, at least at this stage of your life, be an exemplary man and show them how it’s done. Exemplary leaders do not fall down from the sky.

Then some from the next generation will follow your example and become exemplary men/women. Few of them will turn out to be exemplary leaders.

If not, with all your holier than thou writings, you are doing nothing but just pissing in the wind.

          nimal Fernando,

To be an exemplary leader, one must first learn not to be Gomin Dayasiri like as the first step.

Gomin Dayasiri is an impulisive men as I noticed in TV discussions.

Whoever whatever being explained, it is not easy for the rulers of the day to do magic pleasing all. After they entered the waters only they happened to know the real depth of the waters. The reason being previous regime held all opposition in dark – even today the entire world is talking about the transactions that had been made by previous regime with outer world – but not many in the former opposition parties are informed. That is the ground reality of the regime left by Mr Rajaakshe.

Mr. Gomin Dayasiri: Very well said and there is noting to add more. Our GREATEST FALL was forced on us by MR Regime and some who very correctly identified worked tooth and nail to bring about a CHANGE that country desperately needed. Alas, what has happened to us now? We have fallen from the frying pan to the fire. Both MS/RW combined administration is carrying us to the LAND OF NOWHERE. Simple as that.

We are waiting for the “Next Disaster” to happen. As things are happening on a day to day basis, from WHAT QUARTERS it would “ARISE” is anybody’s “GUESS”. Don’t we have at least one Lee Quan Yeu type to take us out of this “BURNING FIRE”? Now we NEED it DESPERATELY.

You should be blind and deaf to call the situation as ” falling frying pan to the fire”.

      a) Let me wake you up – had we the people been given due rights during the day of the end of previoius regime ? Today we see almost anyone and everyone criticise the other.. was the the right given to people earlier ?

      b) Ministers stayed themselves kirimati gilapu kimbulas – crocodiles fed with clay – doing nothing but nodding their both ends to Rajaakshes siblings. Consequence to this day is even the essentionals are not documented as records, even if the high profile trasactions were made.

      c) Were their any kind of safeguarding basic rights under the reigh of MR towards the last days ? NO.

We are not reborn Mr. White van cultre and high extra vaganza abusing the poor mans funds as no others, srilanken boy lived his perveous fantasies. Even today, the man is far from sensing the harm his unsensitivity has created to this nation and country

this list can go that long…… all right thinking right respecting dignfied though the minority woudl see it right even today.

You guys that would even offer your families ones to Rajaakshes Murders and rapists would see nothing beyond that is CRYSTAL clear to anyone with a little brain.

Douglas, what exactly would you expect from this government? What exactly, if I may ask?

“Are we waiting for the next disater to happen?”. Wow, you sure have a short memory. Are the decisions and agreements with China to go ahead with the Port city, turn around commercially dead projects such as Hambantota airport and harbour to be commercially viable even though they are both dead ducks, eliminate highway robberies by the ruling President’s family, eliminate fear psychosis, and forced disappearances, allow freedom of speech and expression, ensure independence of the judiciary …. may I ask you with respect, what are these?

Let us criticise where criticism is due but also give the devil its due. If you were better off during the Rajapakse days, then you must be a close relive or a first class lackey of that lot.

I wish to be modest. I knew Gomin, – I was with him at Peradeniya -, but, not much. His forays into politics was a forgone conclusion, even when he was at the University. He had a visible political lineage. There was more racism in that heredity, than in all other combined. He has lived true to the promise he showed in the sixties.

Here is an input, from this particular write-up.

‘Toys of the terrorists are now common discoveries as more remains are being unearthed. Insecurity may surface to cause panic, as the Government is bending backwards to secure the northern vote mindful of a fast decline of its clutch in the south’.

The northern vote is not up for grabs by someone bending backwards; it is there for someone thinking forward. The South has, somewhere along its political path, lost its capacity to think forward.

Gomin and his predecessors have sucked the innocence out of the South!

Gomin, pretends to preach wisdom, when he says, ‘One government failed to offer genuine relief sufficiently speedily to the north while another offered it too rapidly without due concern for security’. In fact, he is spitting venom.

Look at how he continued. ‘The North takes everything with both hands and cries for more and more’.

Mr. Dayasri, what is the ‘everything’ you are speaking about?

The rest of the article is about his frustration at being overlooked for plum jobs, thrown at many others who he considers to be lesser intellects than him. He could be right, there!

“I knew Gomin, – I was with him at Peradeniya ”

I could not help noticing your age, you must be in your mid 80s. Wish you a long, long life.

Stormin Gormin still lives in the early 1950s (or prior to his birth) and believes “Cosmopolitan novel” is slowly creeping into the Sinhala
novel and thinks that, he should stamp out that tendency.

What more could you expect from a bigot and a product of the 1950s who still glorifies SLFP and falsely believes that had 1956 Revolution fulfilled its potential, there would have been no bloodshed in 1971 and
      1989.

He forgets to understand 1956 eventually brought in an isolation of young minds from outside world which was changing and changing rapidly and robbed the future generation a future and triggered shrinking economy.

Native Vedda, What makes you think that Gomin is in his mid 80s. He is yet to reach his mid 70. This helps you, I’d guess.

        Wishing you equally long life.

Nathan’s analysis of Gomin’s article is very accurate. Gomin started writing the article well giving insight into Sirisena and the rest of this government. However, he ruined it just bringing in the racial card. People can very well remember that Gomin was a Rajapaksa man and he is still.

It seems to me that the solution is to change the Education System.

Children have got used to Learning off By Heart, a set of Answers to Expected Questions, in order to pass Exams. and obtain a Piece of Paper as a Certificate to prove that they are ‘Educated’!

They are not Taught to Think Independently, but to Follow the Herd where the ‘Leaders’ Want to Lead Them!

A scathing attack on the present political scenario in Sri Lanka where many truths are displayed to jog our short memories of what came before and our realization of what we are bogged down by at present.

I never had much regard for the author due to his past pronouncements that had a distinct prejudicial slant, but must admit that his current view on the state of our dilemma hits the nail on the head!

How to resolve it is the problem, as most decent and honest folk with the potential to rectify our state won’t venture into politics as it would mean pandering to the existing dregs they would rather not touch with that proverbial bargepole.

What Mahinda has done to Sri Lanka no one has done in the history of this country. Those who were critical of his second term seems to have myopia. The current government that supposed have corrected all that was bad in MR’s time can’t even get a piece of tissue to wipe there posterior from all their so called friends in the world. The economy has hit rock bottom. 29 times failed Ranil apperantly is the great brain. He is so brainy now he will pay 125m USD to re start the Port City which suddenly has become a very attractive investment. Guys like Gomin should sing to parrots and crows instead of spreading Mahinda prejudice in English media.

The father’s anti-Tamil venom has found adequate space in the blood-stream of the son. This is the first time we hear of a train-load of foodstuffs sent to the Tamils in the North by the Sinhalese immediately after the May 2009 events. Who were the Sinhalese who were involved in this “secret” mission and when was this?

The Writer’s guru Gunadasa Amerasekera’s credentials to bring solace to the Tamils at the time, or even before or after, will always be in doubt. GA’s fellow travellers Weerawansa, Gammanpila and others are now in the league of the millionaires – not the first for using the name of aagama and jaathiya for personal wealth from poverty. The ordinary man in the street is left to eat grass – the result of an economy destroyed by a decade of Rajapakse rule. The valiant efforts of Ranil, Mangala and CBK to save the country might not work out – the patient is almost off the life-support system.

Certainly, the country suffers from lack of leadership and direction. Many in the know feel the country will not make it in the foreseeable future. Look at the joke that is Sirisena’s Yahapaalanaya. The number of Ministers will exceed 100 soon. Almost a Minister for 2 MPs – one more world record. What wholesale cheats these who masquerade as our leaders – practising Buddhists at that.

The combined good and resources of an united country was killed by the seeds of disunity sowed during the 1952/56 period by the short-sighted action of powerful Buddhist leaders like N.Q. Dias and many others. It was not merely SWRD who was shot and killed by a Buddhist priest but the very good and decent governance we enjoyed until then. All sacrificed in the name of race and religion. Is the race and religion better since then?

Not only after 2009, even during the period of war, it was the SLG which sent food, medicine and even salaries for tamil government officials. Ironically Prabhakaran’s father who is from Kerala received a pension and Prabhakaran’s children got education at SLG’s expense.

      • 4

Sach is in error. So long as the North-East is part of the country it is the bounden duty of the government to provide essentials to the people there during times of crisis – war conditions being one. That includes salaries to government servants as well. What I took exception was Gomin Dayasiri’s false claim Gunadasa Amarasekera sent a train-load of foodstuffs to Jaffna???

Your comment VP’s father is from Kerala is wrong. Many Sinhalese do not know the subtle differences between Tamilnadu, Kerala, Andhra, Karnataka or most of India. I knew Sinhala teachers during my time who believed Gandhi and Nehru were Tamil and Tamil speaking – like those workers in the Estates. Similar ignorance of India and her people still persists in many sections in the South.

Did MR clan loot everything that paid into the coffer which belonged to the people?

Mahinda R did not, legally speaking, loot EVERYTHING from the national coffer. That is virtually impossible. But to even steal, together with his brothers, cronies and relatives, a fair portion of it is treacherous and anti-national. Many leading men (and woman0 in the regime have said the Rajapakses siphoned off very large sums of money. These persons even went to the extent of hinting where and how much. The nation awaits anxiously to know details of this looting. We know the details are kept a secret in that great game of tit for tat between politicians in the regime and the opposition – to be used gradually and where necessary. You scratch my back and I yours – if you like. That is the Lankan brand of patriotism. Meanwhile, the economic health of the entire country is in dire straits. We are well on the road that Zimbabwe, Ghana and Argentina found themselves in. Our politikkas are currently feeding on the remains of the dead carcass of our national wealth. It may not be long before our garu amathithumas, of various hues and cries, are chased away to take refuge in London and declare a Sri Lankan Govt-in-Exile – not too far different to Rudy’s TGTE – whose case is on and off highlighted eloquently by the charming Usha S. Or will it be in Madras/Chennai or even Delhi?

The petty bourgeoisie complex ideas of ongoing situation of political development after 2015 January 9th and 2015 August 17 by state and governing power that legally acquired by right-wing UNP political power led foreign MNC s of USA, UK and Indian big bourgeoisie, that political development is confuse by national elites like Govanda Dayasiri have to realized is not that permanent phenomenon of democracy.

This was avoidable political and economic catastrophe is in fact threatening ours national sovereignty and territory integrity of

That was Sri Lankan intervention came into being is purely US & Indian in covered operation by CIA and RAW of terms complex propaganda by US and Indian and their local agents of UNP politics of “good governance and rule of law ” has been negatively reflected in mind and right thinking the national elites and majority masses of people that has been believed and revealed by Govida Dayasiri.

There are bunch of pro-foreign agents in UNP, SLFP-CBK -MS, TNA, Muslim Congress and JVP are forces deliberately and unremittingly sabotaging ,damaging, stopping, disrupting and hampering -developing major infrastructure projects funded by People’s Republic of China the vital interest of nation that sustainable path of primary development -Sri lakan .

The very forces of UNP-Ranil CBK and MS want to undermined sabotaging development, hoping that an unparalleled catastrophe will mean the collapse of Our Republic and its democracy and Sri Lankan people thus facilitating to return to a War footing Economy and Uncertain political instability in time to come.

The motive of the restoration of “New” Constitution, that unlimited power hands of MS, UNP-Ranil W… and CBK of the old neo- colonialist bourgeoisie and landowners back by US and Indian big power hegemony rule Island by foreign powers… Of Neo-colonial state in Indian Ocean Sri lanka.

In political and economic terms of democracy that it is very close that UNP’s extreme measures are necessary to COMBAT it that New Funding from China an investment development projects that heroic efforts by people and current political leadership of MR and United Opposition alliance has to realized that to avert ruin small island by UNP and foreign powers so on urgently need foreign investment survival our nation, who ever in centre of power Sri lanka.

That is urgent task ongoing of sustsnibility of development initiated by leadership of MR and alliance from 2005 to 2015 and enrich by end of war by MR and alliance since 2009 May..

Indeed national forces of United Opposition make slight attention and thought will have to suffice to satisfy masses by anyone that the way of combating disintegration and partition of Island by “New” Constitution proposed by UNP leadership are available to the people actions and movements required to combat UNP and other forces are want split island by the need of US and Indians.

It is quite clear policies of national salvation of democracy and unitary character State of an Island most paramount issues of the day of our nation survival.

UNP proposed “New Constitution” presently kind by sabotage of every kind of control by state-regulated way.

What is by introducing ‘New Constitution’ expect by UNP?

In practice of “good governed and rule of law” by UNP, MS and CBK now come to empty phrase these specious catchwords the frustration of control of UNP serve to conceal their control of democratic tools in state power.

New control by proposed ‘new’ constitution the delaying of all business, investments, trading, new employments the creation of extra-ordinarily complicated cumbersome and bureaucratically lifeless state institutions of control which hopelessly depend on the foreign capital, and which do absolutely nothing and cannot do any thing our development and democracy in Lanka…. by UNP Ranil.. Amid all that gibberish you’ve written, do you seriously believe that China has the interest of anything but itself when it funds projects like ports and airports in countries where it has no major communal presence? China’s success is through apeing the west; similarly, its future is predicated on the success of the West. China is smart enough to know that – it’s fools like you who are not.

Foreigners, to whom we sold the country by signing a joint resolution with the USA, offer incentives to their citizens to withdraw funds invested, that gave us a degree of stability; now lost as green notes fly back home.

This is their trick. They keep on making profits.

Then they also can crash the country economically if they feel they have to., and they have done that to other countries.

“Indeed a sad state in a country of ability and talent.”

Where were these lectures when Kurakkan Samagama and their lap dogs (BBS, for instance) ruined the country?

The unfortunate thing is our Lankans are becoming more and more racists day by day here. Side lining and discriminating minorities are the name of their foolish game due to the bad influence of people like Gomin, Gammanpilla, Weerawansa, Dayan Jayatilake, and a whole list of racists, destructive elements who are poisoning the minds of ordinary innocent people. The racism is played and practiced by educated and un-educated, and that’s the sad side of the story. Even the ‘pious’ religious heads are playing into racial fanaticism. It’s shameful they all consider them as Buddhists or even human for that matter.

They do not realize the fact that they have destroyed the country and are busy destroying the rest of it.

It cannot be stopped by RW or MS or any one now ! The trend is set to “destroy Tamils , Muslims and then it will automatically become a whole destruction of the country.

Is anyone realizing the fact ?

Our nation is bankrupt of educated people with common sense or leaders with un prejudiced vision. They look into everything with race , religion and party politics. How can a nation prosper with this kind of attitude ? We are sure, going down the drain. We won’t listen to any one and no one can stop us destroying ourselves.

How pathetic it is for a lovely country like ours and such a citizenry ? Why did our country became so racist ? Even Britain, USA, Canada and Australia are not so racistic any more !

But we are still Racists, just because we think we are in the majority and want to chase others or kill them all and live happily ever after !

These racists are helping the creation of a separate state where VP with his arms failed to deliver.

VP must be clutching his flag in his grave preparing to raise it anytime sooner.

Gomin Dayasiri burnt his boats by being a sycophant and Rajapaksa defender. His attempt to wax eloquent here, even in criticism.fails to impress. Even though he is a legal luminary of repute, and one with intellect, his integrity is now questionable. I will not take him seriously.

There are a number of Gomins in lanken society, that would hardly change their rosted mind sets. They have a pattern on thinking that should they inherited by their generations. One another who represent the kind of folks are Gonmanpila. He would turn thalagoya to kabaraya when it comes to defend their men. In the same time, he is arguing how the people have to act. Today s situation is much more better than in the 2 years ago is clear ot any little simon who doest not want to be a product of pera.

There is a lot of truth in what Gomin Dias says. Our learders are pathetic and mediocre.
The men -like gomin, ranil,Sagala look efferminate while women Srima ,Chandrika etc are very masculine. A big problem ?

      Plato, I agree.

The danger is, Gomin gets all the TV exposure and newspaper and web exposure he wants.

Others of more balanced disposition dont bother to contradict him. That is the tragedy.

Guys like Gomin Dayasri are outdated in their thinking by 100 years. The world moves VERY differently.

The out-going Police Chief paid a glowing tribute to the Minister in Charge – Sagala as someone under whose watch, they had the BEST cooperation and support.

      That is saying a lot.

I dont care how they look but I dont think Ranil and Sagala rob us and stash it all as their own loot. Can you say the same of those who had this great chest forward personality in the very recent past??

Gomin Dayasiri began his Legal career with the UNP.Daya Pelpola and all.
His father[?] N.Q.Dias was the Permanent Secretary to the former External Affairs Ministry. He was known by all to be an Unrepentant Racist.Naturally the son followed suit.GD has been in the forefront on many issues that illustrates his racism; For instance, the Trinco shooting of those unfortunate boys in their 20s saw him defending the STF at the mock inquiry.

GD,Wimal Weerawansa,Udaya Gammanpilla are all fellow travellers!

      Plato,
I remember how this man and SL Gunasekara used thuggish arguments to push Dr. Nesiah
out of a commission that investigated the
Trico 5 and other cases. I don’t read him; just scan some comments.

Sri Lanka ( Ceylon ) has always been a leaderless nation from 1948.
Every government from time has been a leaderless government.
Leaders were there but they were not leading the country and people, they were leading themselves, their families and close cohorts.
One does not need to go into minute or accurate detail to check on this. It can be seen from the present state of the country because if there were competent leaders in the past there will be competent leaders at present. The leaderless period all started with the then PM SWRDB. He used his Oxford education to dismantle the accurately ticking clock of governance handed down to the land from the British. He thought that he good fine tune the clock to run better, but eventually ruined the mechanism. His biggest gambling mistake was to start nationalising all and sunder, starting with private public transport companies because it was a good oportunity for him to put all his golayas into employment. We can see where that has led to at present. Further into the mess ( his cauldron of disaster ) he misused the Sinhalese language. We all know what that led to. He hadn’t the foggiest idea of foreign policy and was anti british, forgetting that he was educated at Oxford ( the best ). He never liked the lower class to get educated beyond a certain level because he did not want to be overtaken in his education. ( Radala attitude ).
He never grasped the golden opportunity that was starring him in the face to make the country the true pearl of the indian ocean.

Next was Dudley Senanayake. A good, educated, honest, man who was somewhat back boneless and scared to crack the whip on the shirkers. He to threw away another opportunity to seriously lead and develop the land. Its a pity he allowed himself to be called a ” buthgotta”.

Next followed the infamous of famous Mrs SWRDB the worlds first woman PM. She to followed in the footsteps of her assinated dearest husband by taking the lovely land further down the dark road of beggary and under developement. Hope many readers will not forget the days one had to queue ( stand in long lines ) for everything from a loaf of bread, parippu, maldive fish & tinned fish, rice, trouser materials, dry chillies, vehicle spare parts, and you name it. Pray to God that those days will not come back. She to virtually sold the country to China. The very little that was available on the shop shelves at that time was from China. She kept bad company with all the despots, tin pot dictators, banana republic thugs, political mass murderers, iron fisted ruler, etc , who called themselves leaders of the NON ALIGNED NATIONS. No further details is needed with regard to that.

Next was JRJ ( Yankee Dick ). The people, and the whole country welcomed a man who they thought was a saviour of the land. Everybody knows what happened in 1983. Let those dark days be forgotten.

Next was CBK. A person who contnued in the footsteps of her erstwhile parents. Supposed to be “Sourbonne” educated, but did very little or nothing at all other than to marry a actor of the silver screen. Credit must be given to the lady, that she disciplined her children by preventing them from putting their good hands into the stinking cesspit of politics, and who are doing well now overseas. God bless them both in every way, unlike the thuggish children of some past and present politicians.

Next was RW. We will leave him at the bus stop waiting for the correct bus as we know about his competency.

Next was the former prez MR. One does not need a high powered magnifying glass to analyse in detail his reign. The only good that he did was to bring an end to terrorism and usher in peace. He needs to be given credit for that act and credit he shall be given. Thank you MR.

Now MS and RW. Promised a new and prosperous era but has made a bigger mess out of what was left in the past. Both totally incompetent and back boneless leaders. Only God knows the inner workings of their minds. Like the past and former leaders both are only for themselves, their families and cohorts ( some baby faced chocolate bunnies ).
Both will play their game untill its time to go and leave the country and people in the lurch again. God only knows what frankenstein / dracula is silently waiting to take over.

Finally as long as the world is in existence Sri Lanka will be a leaderless country and the population will wait in hope, a hope that will never come.

    Gomin,

What a big lie. Sent a train load of food to Jaffna after the war. For your information Gomin there was no direct train line to Jaffna when the war came to an end. Full uninterrupted service to Jaffna was restored only on 13 October 2014. So how did this Gunadasa Amarasekera send a train load of food to Jaffna. Or did GA load the train into a Dandu Monara Yantraya and flew the train to Jaffna.

Look who is calling Sirisena a midget. An eunuch from the Panadure racist family Dias, who now calls himself Dayasri, with nothing to shine. A non-man, a hunchback who cannot prick his wife to make her pregnant. Gomin, you as a lawyer shold know better that Sirisena was preferred to MARA by over 5 lacks. He was chosen as the leader. Gomin, you want Rajapaksa back as you are also in the racket with alongside Harry Jayawardena your friend, the man who was caught hands down for under/over invoicing. Did you not help him to get out of these deals, you the pseudo patriot. Can you deny that you are not helping him in the liquor deals.Come on! Gomin be a man wiyhout insulting people like Sirisena. If I were Sirisena I would have sent the CID after you.

“…………………………….. We are in the hands of men of whom respect has faded away. Look to the next generation for possible salvation.!!!!!!!”

This senile, expired, eroded and malnourished Rajapaksha vassal has gotten asshole sickness coupled with mood erosion. The clown bootlicked and ball-polished of Mara like no tomorrow and in the process of giving lip service even forget to breathe. The kilometers long gibberish lament is indicative of the travail he undergoes at the power loss of his ideological hero Mara. Poor vassal!

    Why the Country is leaderless…?
    1. The Leaders were killed by the LTTE.
    2. The ‘ Educated ‘ over the last 20 years assisted fools to run the Country…the writer is one of the persons who openly supported MR’ s plots & plans for the Country to be in the present state….
