Mahinda’s Message

By Dayan Jayatilleka –

Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka

Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka

When he addressed the awards ceremony and dinner yesterday on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce hosted by the outgoing chairperson of the Chamber, the highly perceptive and articulate Suresh Shah, Mahinda Rajapaksa was a man with a message. Cast your mind back or go back to your records of encounters with Sri Lankan leaders and top officials in the ten years before 2005, he said. Your highest priorities were the cessation of terrorism and the provision of infrastructure, and while you were optimistic about what your enterprises could do if these conditions were fulfilled, you were pessimistic about the prospects of their fulfillment. Remember that we, this administration, delivered what was thought to be impossible; so impossible that some were even willing to give Prabhakaran free run of the North for ten years or more – said Mahinda in a barb aimed at the Leader of the Opposition sitting in the audience. Now we are criticized for not moving forward on political reconciliation, but “just as we succeeded in eradicating terrorism which was thought impossible, we shall succeed in the task of political reconciliation too, Mr. High Commissioner”, he added, in a gentle jibe at the genial John Rankin.

Mahinda Rajapaksa didn’t lose any votes that night and may have even gained some, because the chatter around the tables indicated that he spoke with the credibility of a true achiever. This audience of the most successful in the marketplace recognized a success story and its architect when they saw one, and accepted the affable abrasiveness of a rough diamond. The vibe one picked up off President Rajapaksa was one of well-founded self-confidence and determination. This was a man who felt he had done much for his country and could do more. The glittering audience was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

My own sense of it was that though his self-confidence was warranted and his determination laudable, he seemed not to know that much the same speech had been made by President Jayewardene, and Ministers Ronnie De Mel, Lalith Athulathmudali and Gamini Dissanayake, with almost as good reason, during the years of 8% growth and the Mahaweli project. What this optimism fails to grasp is the sad secret about Sri Lanka that Lee Kuan Yew announced to the world and his ideological opponent Fidel Castro said in different words to Gamini Dissanayake. Whatever Ceylon/Sri Lanka’s stellar achievements and shining prospects, they all prove unsustainable and come undone because of the crack in the underlying foundation; a crack which continues to widen: that between the constituent communities of the country, originating in the failure to fashion a fair, inclusive, equitable and meritocratic consciousness of a Sri Lankan nationhood. As Srima and Navin Dissanayake will doubtless confirm, Fidel said much the same thing to Gamini Dissanayake who paid a call on him after the Indo-Lanka Accord. Urging the determined implementation of a solution based on autonomy (the Communist Party’s paper Granma had supported the Accord), Fidel said: “I know of no country that ever prospers– and your beautiful country will never prosper– with the eternal, debilitating wound of an unresolved ethnic problem”.

President Rajapaksa had more reasons than one to be confident and the discerning element in his audience had more reason for concern other than ethnic/ethno-religious alienation and polarizations old and new. That was the prolonged dysfunction of Sri Lanka’s usual corrective mechanism: the two party system. Though President Rajapaksa did not stay for dinner, no more than ten, possible between five to ten, of the 450 guests from the corporate elite were seen in conversation with the Leader of the Opposition, and quite a few, including those at an adjacent table, were unaware that he was present until he stood up to talk to a charitable Rohitha Bogollagama who went over to him. That visibility didn’t cause a conversational ripple in the hall. I reminisced with my fellow diners that by sharp contrast, a year before the general elections of 1977, when JR Jayewardene used to grace any social occasion especially in Colombo’s five star hotels, he was virtually mobbed by expectant and enthusiastic members of the UNP’s home base.

The Diplomatic Wonder of Asia

True to its self-designation as the Wonder of Asia, Sri Lanka must have its fellow Asians wondering at the recent practice of its Ministry of Defense issuing long statements of rebuttal of the US Embassy in Colombo (‘MoD Responds to US Embassy Allegations Concerning Accountability Issues’, The Island, page 1, Wednesday, July 30, 2014).  It may well be the case that the US Embassy or the State Department needs to be refuted, but that refutation must come from the Sri Lankan Ministry of External Affairs or, if that Ministry in its wisdom deems that it should not do so, there should be no official statement issued by another ministry—a reasoned editorial comment in the state run newspaper should suffice.

Even Pakistan under military rule for prolonged periods did not issue statements of refutation in what agencies of other countries say. That task was left to the highly competent Foreign Ministry.

Statements pertaining to international affairs are issued by military spokespersons only in those instances where a critical statement has been made directly about the military concerned. An example is the press conference by Soviet General Nikolai Orgakov following allegations after he shoot down of South Korean airliner KL007.

The only states in which the Defense Ministry or officers in uniform issue statements refuting those of Embassies, are military dictatorships (military juntas), and Sri Lanka, on the cusp of important elections, manifestly isn’t one. So why is a single state institution of this Wonder of Asia wandering all over the place, including into what should be the exclusive preserve of the Ministry of External Affairs?

    Hey Dayan,
Now you see it fit to condemn your own personal adversary, the defense chief, as stepping out of line in its response to U.S. intervention. How come you didn’t instead rush to invoke your often-used trump card, the “sovereignty defense,” used essentially in servility, to castigate the U.S. for “inappropriate interference” in the Sri Lankan state affairs – a shameless deed you repeatedly undertook despite your global exposure and political science education?
Is this all about what suits your personal, selfish interest best? Have you now turned into that “domestic Diaspora” a classification that you yourself invented? Are you getting cold feet that the next target of the BBS after the Muslims could very well be those of your own persuasion?

So as MR regime. This man – so called self proclaimed political analyst has no vision at all. He often compares issues that are not relevant to lanken situation. All his job seems to be lead of cover up – this he the man did for the premadasa regime until found with pants down – this time, this and other henchmen go on make ha hu for the Mahinda will have safer grounds after the presidential election. Having listend to the facts and figures given by Dr. Harsha De Silva in his this week s Discussion, many really ask what and where have the millions if not billions allocated to road and sevice gone ? They the few mps and ministers ( hand picked ones still coughing for the regime) seem to have been appointed to speak only good about the SO CALLED development of the country today.
Seashevles, Swiss and other banks may profit the money grabers savings – thanks go to megalomaniac and those who voted him for ruin this nation. I dont wish anyone bad, but the manner Rajapakshes have done and has been doing is beyond all ethical and moral standards of the entire world.

So, we are expected to TRUST Mr. Rajapakse, and expect him to do the right things, with the honesty and sincerity of a Castro or Yew. I did not want to insult Mandela by mentioning his name.

And, we should emulate the Corporate elites in their selfishness, self-serving punditry and greed, and sing hosannas, a la Thilanga, Harry, Kili and Susantha? Forget about Sumal, Sumith and Dimuth. Did you know there is’nt a single degree worthy of mention amongst the entire lot. And, these are our conglomerate heads.

Is you head so deep up your ….. that you don’t see much daylight these days?

A chicken brain knows that MaRa is a genuine rogue, an uneducated brainless megalomaniac, a power and control freak, a cancer to the country, a factual manipulator and an authentic criminal. Dayan knows it very well but Dayan cannot understand that. Why?
Sheer selfishness, waiting for a posting. He knows that he doesn’t stand a chance with RW. Dayan making Kabaragoya a Thalagoya.
or is it Kiss the Hand You Cannot Sever for his own sake.

For you people This is Wonder as you all are sucking Masses Blood.
Wonder of Asia is a Slave exporting and Heroin importing country.

    Dayan,

Do you need any more proof to show that Sri Lanka is a de facto military dictatorship under Gota the war criminal?

Do you need more than the military running Tamils’ lives, raping women, miss-appropriating land and colonizing with Sinhalese in the North East to prove it’s a military dictatorship?

Military makes statements on any topic about local matters or foreign matters.

For all intents and purposes Sri Lanka is a military dictatorship of the Sinhalese security forces and their chiefs.

This man is MR supporters. Be careful with him. He is after a big job. Soon after MR get his third term this man would be posted to a diplomatic mission somewhere. That is why he praising MR all the way. He does not see all shortcoming of MR. MR and family ruining the economy and there is no economic growth except money send by remititnce of three millions people who work abroad.
This man always praises MR. I think mostly uneducated president in SL history is MR. His family will destroy the country sooner

Yes, Mr. Rajapakse has achieved what no other leader has achieved since Mandela. He is the best Sri Lankan leader since D.S. Senanayake, He will be respected, admired and followed by others.

He will be perfect when the law-and-order issues are sorted and the constitution is overhauled to bring proper structure back to the Parliament.

Although I understand people do not always elect dynamic people like his brothers to do the work that is needed. Therefore people will give him the benefit of the doubt that these things will be delivered at a more appropriate time before his departure.

Dont insult Mandela by writing his name behind a rogue. In a democratic enviornment you have all the rights to believe what you think is correct. But you cant hide a demon in a fine cloths to show others him as a god or a deity. Who has turn this parilament into mere talk house? Who abolish the 17 th amendments? are you saying that family rule is fine as far as you get your benefit? he used all the UNP and Mps by force and bribe to keep his powers and destry the democraticy and destroy the judiciary, entire system for family benefit. He used UNP ‘s ” Yali pubudamu Sri Lanka ” plans ( IN a wrong way) by mortgaging country to china. You wait and see , then you can see how poeple accept your opinon!

As a group of educated like minded business people, if the participants of this event felt that Rajapakse was speaking the truth and can be trust and not that he was repeating a speech which is very stale, it is sad. These individuals should be worrying that if he wins the next presidential election they will further loose the law and order that is prevailing at minimal level in Sri Lanka. How can they think that Rajapakse is a honest person. Rajapakse was able to change the constitution for his own benefit within a very short period, he was able to get the casino bill approved within a short period but he could not bring a solution to the minority issues in five years? If this is the calibre of the business leaders we have in this country one can imagine what would happen to the private sector in another five years. What do they think of the military interference in all civilian fields, what do they think of the large military budget and military force when the president claims that there are no more LTTE?

Not only that . There is much more think about Dayans mentality. This reflects how and what he think about MR. DJ is correct if they all are racketiers and stock market manpulators like Dilith, Rehan and Varuni Amunugama etc. If others think this way , they have to go to mental hospitals.

Before 2005, every time SL forces get closer to VP, India got involved and spoil their plans.

MaRa figured this out and the only thing he did was keep promising (lying) India (and IC) to keep them out.

So SL forces were able to finish the game, but MaRa is under the hook for all the promises he made.

Either MaRa fulfill his promises or leave the post, so SL can move forward without IC bothering us.

In early 2005 Hindia persuaded Chandrika to go for an all out war against LTTE. Hindia promised everything that was needed to prosecute the war, including loans (aid), training, strategy, on the ground military advisers, political and diplomatic support, intelligence, keeping Tamilnadu under control, ………..

Mahinda was only continuing what had already been decided by Hindia. During the war he promised heaven on earth and went back on his promises after the conclusion of the war. As usual he is trying to wriggle out of the difficult situation.

One thing he has forgotten is that International Community provided all support needed to successfully conclude the war in favour of the Sinhala/Buddhist state.

He owes his success to Hindia and the rest of the world.

    Achievement of a “True Achiever”.

2nd para 2nd line of Dr. DJ’s piece.

A week ahead of the Vadamaradchi Operation in May 1987, there was a story afloat in Jaffna. Whether it was an inspired leak or a leak or a plain concoction one couldn’t decipher then. Even now one cannot vouch for its accuracy. It was too alarming to accept and too comforting to believe.

The story was – “In a week there will be a military operation to contain Jaffna. Since estimated casualties were 40,000, there were reservations about a full scale operation”. The latter part was the good part. It signified humanity even in enmity. So thought the innocents. Realists however were in shivers.

From 1987 – 2005, Sri Lanka had had 4 Presidents. All of them had a hard choice of 40,000 plus casualties, but they veered from it and set their face against it. To them it was never an option. The 5th President had no inhibitions.

Anti Semitism was spreading in Europe for long. One ruler gave it a mighty push and reached 5 million plus massacre in his country.

Only Anti-Semitic Fascists saw it as A True Achiever’s Achievement.

      CHANAKYAN:

      —-

      What a load of bull!

This is what CBK would like us to believe. Hick hick hick! She/they just couldn’t do it.

Was the utterly failed operation to capture Wanni during CBK time indicate that she gave up trying to overthrow LTTE due to civilian casualties? Did the army abandon Wanni areas that they captured after months of heavy military casualties in a matter of days because of civilian casualties? Did CBK use MBRL to avoid civilian casualties???

Did J.R Jayewardene call off Vadamarachchi Operation at the time of Denzil Kobbekaduwa because of civilian casualties?

Besides, whatever calculus Colombo government used in 1987 with regards to war on LTTE does not apply in 2005 due everything LTTE did over 2 decades from 1987 to 2005!

Theodore Van Kirk, the navigator of the Enola Gay when it dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima died 2 days ago. Here’s what he said to New York Times in 1995:

“Mr. Van Kirk told he was often asked, “given a choice about his role in the Hiroshima bombing, would he do it again?”

Under the same circumstances — and the key words are ‘the same circumstances’ — yes, I would do it again. We were in a war for five years. We were fighting an enemy that had a reputation for never surrendering, never accepting defeat. It’s really hard to talk about morality and war in the same sentence. In a war, there are so many questionable things done. Where was the morality in the bombing of Coventry, or the bombing of Dresden, or the Bataan death march, or the Rape of Nanking, or the bombing of Pearl Harbor? I believe that when you’re in a war, a nation must have the courage to do what it must to win the war with a minimum loss of lives.”

This what the US will do when US interests are threatened. Sri Lanka will do likewise. There is not a damn thing that US can say about Sri Lanka given what it has done and same goes for UNHRC given it sees no evil in the conduct of US.

“We were in a war for five years. We were fighting an enemy that had a reputation for never surrendering, never accepting defeat.”

The Sinhala/Buddhists have been fighting among themselves for centuries. If you were in his shoes would you consider using atomic bomb to stop their self destruction?

“This what the US will do when US interests are threatened. Sri Lanka will do likewise.”

It is about self interest and nothing to do with justice and you want us to believe Sinhala/Buddhists are indeed following enlightened Buddha’s teaching.

Would you now demand the Sinhala/Buddhist state to remove the clause that guarantees the constitutional protection of Buddha Sasana and replace it with citizen’s right to bear nuclear arms.

All this talk about Axis of Evil, WMD and Islamic Terror are a load of Bull. To date the only country ever to have used Weapons of Mass Destruction is USA. First the Atomic Bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaky and next Agent Orange and Napalm in Vietnam and lately Cluster Bombs in Iraq. The effects of the Atomic Bombs are still being felt after 70 years by the Japanese. Agent Orange destroyed the agriculture base reportedly for 200,000 years and today there are 5 million deformed and cancer prone children being born in Vietnam. The sad consequence of Cluster Bombs is that the food parcels dropped as aid in the mountainous regions of Iraq and these bombs are the same yellow colour and children regularly pick up unexploded ones and get maimed or killed.

Thanks to the Americans and the Indians who helped MR be installed as President in 2005 with the help of VP and then to help MR to kill VP and his cadre, clearing the War Theater of the UN and the Red Cross, is no great feat to boast off. Today what have we achieved? A society ridden with Corruption with no Law and Order, where a 20% of the society earns an 80% of the revenue and an 80% of Society earning 20% of the revenue. This bugger Dayan should visit the Independence Arcade, Race Course, Dutch Hospital and Water’s Edge, the Master Pieces of this regime, to see how prosperous the people are to see the buying capacity of the masses.

        Jansee,

Obviously the Americans and the Indians have no vote here, but it is they who brokered the deal with VP to boycott, promising VP a way out, only to deceive VP in the end. When RW wanted to take up the issue whether the election was valid as the whole country had not voted, America through Robert Blake prevented any action, persuading RW. VP after burying all the artillery, abandoning their stronghold Kilinochchi without a fight and assembling on a beach front to surrender is too much of a coincidence. Had Sripathi Suriyaarachi and Jeyaraj Fernandopulle lived today, you would have got all the answers. Intrigue can be understood only by those who have intuition and not by the ordinary masses. That is why it is said the masses are asses. Current feet dragging of the Americans on War Crimes and the reluctance of the Indians for any Inquiry here all point to the plot, lest the hands are exposed. Ignorance is bliss, then why bother?

Then people will realize as to why the so called development making every infant and unborn life long debtors. Those who benefited the situation are the criminals .. high criminals like Lanza.. and the drug traffickers that pump or financed the voting campaigns for UPFA. Ballige Puthas like Mervin are very important to Rajapakshes because they are the underground leads to handle all these criminal network. Parliament to Society today, people those who raise the issues have no grounds. They live with fears. … ‘ Your highest priorities were the cessation of terrorism and the provision of infrastructure, … ‘.

This was and still is the wrong priority; The wrong message.

Terrorism was declared defeated; Infrastructures are in place. But, new waves of terrorism is still haunting us.

Terrorism was never the cause of the downfall of our nation. Terrorism was the symptom of the malady. Terrorism was the effect of the malaise.

Politicians promoted and projected Terrorism to win elections. Terrorism was let drag to drag down the nation into the abyss we are in today.

No politician, irrespective of the political party, was honest and true to the country. Academics allied to the politicians themselves were not true.

If only there would have been a Statesman with the love and patriotism required to steer the country clear of the pitfalls of falsifying our history we would have by now been the envy of the Region. Alas, it was not to be.

The proper priority should have been to address the grievances of the ‘handicapped’, not adding to their misery.

You won’t have to search for the right priorities if only you are honest enough to speak the truth.

    Dayan,

As proudly stated by MR “just as we succeeded in eradicating terrorism” and endorsed fervently by you, we all agree, it was a relief that the war came to an end.

Unfortunately your gloating leader not only eradicated terrorism, but also eradicated all foundations of democracy in Sri Lanka such as freedom of speech, freedom of protest, a free and independent judiciary, an unencumbered policing service and so forth.

How much admiration you have for this roughneck (rough diamond my foot). The majority who graced the occasion that you are talking about are members of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. I assure you they all know who butters their bread, hence their unashamed approval of the quasi dictator. Remember Pinochet was also the darling of the business community in Chile.

So Dayan counted the numbers that spoke to the Leader of the Opposition. On that day, I believe when the Government ordered the closure of bars as a it was a mark of respect for Ramadan the audience had waited counting minutes for the President to finish his speech and leave for the booze to be served.
Quite fitting. It is the audience that elected a Head of a Brewery and a alcohol agent to lead that Chamber in the 175th year. Leave the contents of the Presidents speech aside. Business as usual.

I sent a reply moment a while ago. Maybe you want to verify the fact. To help you…. the President of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is Suresh Shah, CEO of Lion Brewery.
Check with that Chamber or Lion Brewery.
    Thanks,
    Rehula.

Here we go again, Dayan and his undisguised praise of MARA and his dictatorship like an old broken record. Stop this bullshit man, MARA has seen thru your wily ways of sucking up to him to get a diplomatic posting you are dying for, In case he wins the next election, but you have many enemies and contenders like Sajin Vaas the knuckle head uneducated former Dubai wharf clerk, who is the de facto foreign minister to deal with. Geneva lost Peerisiya of course hates your guts and so does a whole host of current S.L. diplomats and Parliamentarians and power mongers including white van Gota . Go back to Cuba and join your Guru Fidel and help him build his dreams of a utopia in that third world dictatorship . You have no place in this country. You are an ultimate Traitor

DJ is looking for work and maybe flattering the great leader MR may assist. MR is the biggest liar and cheat who does not possess an ounce of integrity and do you expect any one with a bit of brains to believe what this guy MR says. MR is gutless and uses the BBS and the MOD to do his dirty work and is not fit to wash the bums of great leaders like Mandela and Lee Kwan Yu. The wonder of Asia is the Mara family that has been able to bluff the nation of modayas to stay in power at any cost. The patriotism of Gota is based on what Samual Johnson said that patriotism if the last refuge of scoundrels. DJ will make a good bootlicker to the Mara family. I hope RW will not be bluffed by the approach of DJ to win favor when the going is bad.

This lot of current Chamber of Commerce members have done better than any of their compatriots of the past 175 years,

Some of them run Multi Million Dollara businesses and most are Rupee Billionairs

    Their priority is the pocket.

And they are not stupid to go after a 20 times plus loser to give them motivational speeches , especially in a land mark occasion like this 175th Birthday.

GDP is heading for USD 4000 in the new year.

And the magnificent developments which are coming along nicely in the Capital especially along the Banks of the Beira Lake are exciting and fascinating.

These members are the sole owners of the these Gold Mines which will help them to graduate to the the Dollar Millionair league .

It is Rajapksa who enabled them to get there.

These chamber members won’t be stupid to upset the apple cart and give a bunch of exes to run this booming nation which benefits this gathering more than anyone else.

Vellalas are not the whole Tamil community. Is it?.

How can the Govt reconcile with the TNA when they want a private treaty from Rajapaksa for them to have total control of the land and the people in the North with total Police Powers, while living happily in Colombo with these Chamber Members as neighbours..

Had Prabakaran accepted Rainbow Ranil ‘s offer of that 10 year lease, wonder what would have been the current total net worth of these Chamber Members?.

Were the TNA boss and his apprentice Abraham there?.

Why is it still called Ceylon Chamber of Commerce?…

      K.A Sumanasekera

“Why is it still called Ceylon Chamber of Commerce?”

Corporate capitalism does not give two hoods about your petty nationalism and political identities mean nothing to the corporatists. Though the corporatists’ use of political vocabulary is limited they are fluent in finance. Money leads, politicians follow.

Answer: Because the good ship EAM and all who sail in her are NOT FIT for purpose (but nothing can be done about their crew of sycophants, relatives and hangers on.)

The downfall of SL is due to the utterances or non-utterances of the
Sinhala Intelligentsia? I wonder if DJ will be able to counter the many
comments against him and his attitude under the present circumstances?

He must be aware of what the planning behind MRs back is taking place, as a
do or die measure by Gota, as the conclusion of UNHCR draws nearer. CT will
of course edit the news around:”Gota’s guerilla war plan to fortify himself : to launch “Ranaviru Prajamula service” chain Islandwide…” published
    elsewhere.

We have seen that you would usually write against anyone other than Mahinda Rajapaksa (MR). Your eternal ‘enemy’ ‘bite’ had been Ranil Wickremesinghe (RW).
Now you are also scared so much you even mess history. To prove I quote you quoting MR-“Remember that we, this administration, delivered what was thought to be impossible; so impossible that some were even willing to give Prabhakaran free run of the North for ten years or more – said Mahinda in a barb aimed at the Leader of the Opposition sitting in the audience.”
I take my hat off to MR for the war victory. No arguments. But 10 year rule for Prabhakaran was never RW’s idea, for him to take the ‘barb’ from MR, as you say. Either MR has forgotten history or you have forgotten if it was meant to embarrass Ranil!
Both are possibilities as MR has short memory as proved with PM Manmohan Singh, SG Banki Moon et al. Not you, unless forget to embarrass RW on account of MR!
Since this offer was made by CBK as a leading partner of the SLFP, MR should at least now accept that it was SLFP who offered the 10 year rule to VP, and correct himself as a partner of the sin. One cannot expect it as it was you who has interpreted MR’s statement. Dayan, therefore you can withdraw the so called ‘barb’ for which RW was not the deserving party. If CBK was there in the audience say so, as if a barb was aimed she was the person to receive it from MR, had she done wrong.
If you are the gentleman who professes you to be, please write in the comments column and admit that you were trying to hit back on your enemy. Or, if I am wrong give the quote where RW has said as you have mentioned- 10 year rule to VP.
Dayan, I will assure readers that you will not do any of the two, because your hatred to RW will not permit you to bring out any gentleman quality we expect from you.

The “intellectuallY” dishonest spin doctor will not hesitate to fabricate stories to have low shots at R.W. to benefit M.R.as pointed out by Ralahamy’s posting. At the same event D.J.(Disc Jockey)shows his true class when he takes yet another cheap shot at R.W when he states that only 5 persons spoke to R.W.and that Rohitha Boggals was “charitable” when he got up and spoke to R.W.and that most persons were not aware of R.w. presence.D.J should have a second look at the photographs in other websites where Ranil is seen sitting a few feet away from M.R and he is even seen having conversation with M.R.Is it plausible that the audinece would not have known about R.W’s presence as D.J. makes out? This is no big deal but it shows the pettiness of D.J.

D.J says M.R. spoke as a “true achever” Tamara.k. your good friend begs to differ.

DJ, Haven’t your father ever told you that you should know when to shut up. Because the more you talk, you show how dumb you are. As long as you kept your mouth shut, without stuffing our throats with your brilliant half-cooked theories, seasoned with name throwing – we thought you are smart. That is in the past. The amount of comments you get is not an indication that you should write more, they are 100%$ negative. So pls stop and give this valuble space to someone who can write intellectually stimulating ideas. Because we now know that your essays has very little substance. That too is good for nothing. It goes, MR is great, RW is bad.. and some name throwing of big communist leaders from South America(fortunately western diplomats have not been so dumb to see you as an intellectual so it spared us the readers of thrwing names of that side), This many hands were shaken by business elite RW. This is considered news to you. You should be writing this crap in tabloid papers. These opportunistic beasts in the business elite and the polity in power is one and the same. So why should they get in to bad terms with MR by shaking hands with RW. If RW gains power back they will bend and lick all the boots and give all excuses. RW, can see through duplicitous conniving opportunists, cough for crumbs like you. I really wish RW wins just to enjoy your political demise.

Anybody knows MR is greater than RW. It’s only the Colombians who think otherwise as usual. When I see what’s happening in Gaza you don’t have to “Think” how safe we are now and who should take the credit is well known to the Common Man. Six years after the War we have come a long way in developing infrastructure even at a higher price which happens in developing states. Economy is stable, Fitch is giving the Banks “thumb up”. Colombians want Sri Lanka to be “America” overnight!. We have come a long way and if there was a leader who can really boast of “Doing” rather than “Talking” is MR

    Dayan:

MR should have been somewherelse delivering the key note speech as Chair of the Commonwealth. But he was forced to stay behind and speak to a home grown audience about his achievements. His achievements amount to nothing other that fill his own and that of his clans coffers. He has pawned the Nation to the Loan Shark and living on borrowed. He can fool you and people like you but he cant fool the World and he has already been warned by IMF and that is the litmus test. Not the clapping by paid stooges.
