Common Opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena will share his vision for a united and prosperous future for Sri Lanka with the business community at a key forum on Tuesday 23rd December from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at King’s Court, Cinnamon Lakeside.
Accompanying Sirisena will be UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe who will speak on the policy framework for boosting socio-economic development within a stable policy environment. The duo will address the business community at the interactive forum titled “Let’s Unite”

Before going to business there is important work to be done.
We need discipline not thuggery and this must begin with every single person who stands for political office beginning with presidential candidates.
The incumbent is beyond redemption. The common opposition candidate must also apologize for having interfered with the law in order to prevent his son from being prosecuted for assault. He must publicly guarantee that he will personally ensure that the law takes its due course in respect to this incident and his son duly punished.
If he fails to do so not one single person who subscribes to the South Asian commitment to the rule of law will give him their vote.

We need an apology from the common candidate for his past interference with the law and an assurance that he will abjure the prevailing culture of impunity and guarantee that the rule of law will be applied to every citizen including himself and his son and the rest of his kith and kin and that no one by virtue of holding public office will be beyond the reach of the law or its requirements or protected from punishment.
If this apology and guarantee is not made public within forty eight hours a campaign to expose every single political aspirant who has engaged in the subversion of the law and the protection of criminals will commence and escalate until it takes precedence over the presidential election itself.

I have had enough of the culture of impunity have you?
I have had enough of the double standards on human rights practiced by the USA and its admirers have you?
I have had enough of the cynical subversion of discipline and justice by the philosophy of “shape” have you?
I have had enough of the marginalization of and violence against religious and ethnic minorities have you?
Then lets us insist on due process and let this aspirant to leadership begin with his apology and guarantee if he wants our endorsement and our votes.
There is nothing to be gained from having to choose between thugs. We need to destroy the cult of thugee once and for all and ensure that there is no room for its resurgence.

Both Ranil, Maithree and JHU should persuade JVP to get into common opposition Bandwagon in order to help Maithree to win Presidential elections.
Presidential elections is not about mere Party politics, but to liberate country from Drug, ethanol, gambling, tobacco, mega commission and Black money Oligarch Mafia who rule our country.
JVP playing mere divided Party politics at this crucial hour could break the hopes of people who are looking for a change and this will effect negatively on JVP’s future political campaign.
JVP should forget past histories and should look into the future of International politics with a new vision.
Even communist Castro’s CUBA is now joining USA. If so why not JVP joining Maithree camp to help him win Presidential elections. This will help JVP to get into TV debates and to get Peoples approval.
