Rajiv Gunawardena, a resident from Nugegoda, has alleged that Gampaha District United National Party (UNP) Parliamentarian and old boy of Royal College Harshana Rajakaruna assaulted him at the recent Royal/ Thomian one day match held at R Premadasa Stadium.

Gunawardena, in his statement to the Maligawatta Police said that a group including Rajakaruna had assaulted him.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital and has refused to speak to the media.
Gunawardena was reportedly assaulted by Rajakaruna and group after he had asked them “is Yahapalanaya doing good these days?”
Police is expected to record a statement from the Parliamentarian.

Not acceptable. Politicians must behave impeccably on and off public view. They MUST set a good example to rest of us how to behave under pressure.
