Buddhist monk Uduwe Dhammaloka, who is currently out on bail for possessing a baby elephant without a valid license, is alleged to be forcibly occupying the Allen Methiniyaramaya Temple in Vijaya Kumaranatunga Mawatha, Kirulapone,

According to a case filed at the District Court of Colombo by Dr. Brahmanawatte Seevali Tissa Thero, Dhammaloka is alleged to have stormed the temple on the night of 06.01.2009 along with a group of thugs and had threatened Tissa Thero and chased him out of the Temple. Tissa Thero had then fled the Temple fearing for his life, as he was threatened with bodily harm and death.
In a statement given to the court, Tissa Thero said that at the time the incident occurred, Dhammaloka was a Member of Parliament supporting the then Government of Mahinda Rajapaksa. According to Tissa Thero the persons who stormed the Temple included uniformed Army and Navy Personnel.
Though Tissa Thero had immediately lodged a complaint against the incident at the Kirulapone Police Station, the Police had not taken any action against the incident as Dhammaloka was an influential person at that time.
As a last resort Tissa Thero instituted legal action and lodged a case bearing No: DLM 00068/2012 in the District Court of Colombo against Dhammaloka.
When the case was taken up in the District Court of Colombo on September 8, Tissa Thero said that Dhammaloka stormed the Temple on 06.01.2009 along with a group of thugs and armed forces personnel (including uniformed Army and Navy officers) and threatened him and forced him out of the Temple. He stated that the group of thugs who stormed the Temple exposed their private parts at him thereby humiliating him.
He also told court that Dhammaloka was close to the then President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his brother the then Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and both of them extended their fullest support and patronage to Dhammaloka. Both the ex President and the ex Secretary Defence had attended numerous functions held at the said Temple, organized by Dhammaloka, at that time clearly indicating that they endorsed the highhanded and illegal activities of Dhammaloka.
After recording the detailed evidence given by Tissa Thero the case was postponed for 30th November 2016.

Buddhist monks are supposed to be guardians of the religion and must be seen in positive light in every aspect, be it in the conduct of their personal and public lives. That was the reason why they sent the boy to the temple school.When the child began to refuse going to the temple school so adamantly, grandmother had to look for the reason. It was then only that she discovered that the child who was sent to learn good behavior, ethics and Buddha’s Dharma from the monk had in fact been abused by the monk.

yES yES; during my last visit paid to lanka few weeks ago, I got toknow LADIES are more at Bana – but mostly they dont concentrate themselves on them – instead, going to a Bana has been like european style going to a disco in today srilanka.
Most hire catering for all the invitees to be served well, so the occassion is going to be not to sit at concentrate on bana but opadupa… I will not give dana to anyone next time on, my friends and I will organize giving meals and other gifts to the aged and the children.. That can clean my soul even better than these Dangediyas being served this way.
Once i happened to watch them behaving… most of them Dangediyas have smart phones in their hand – asked what they have been doing – added,.. why not mal kadanawa.. can you guys imagine ? It is sad how Lord Buddha, The Enlightened One’s teachings are conveniently set aside & ignored by those robed & in possession of the very precincts, that preaches his Dhamma.
Our temple which receives “Dane” from about 200 houses affiliated to it, but denies the ordination of anyone from the village just because of the still prevalent caste system in Sri Lanka.
We need not go far, just look up the matrimonial columns in our newspapers on any day and it is there in black & white.
This is Buddhism in Sri Lanka in this 21st century.

Not satisfied with one lie he lied again to the Courts that Maduluwawe Sobitha Nayaka Thera’s death was suspicious.
He charged Rs. 30,000 for a Bana Preaching in additional to charging another Rs.25,000 for the Audio System provided by him.As somebody said his DAYAKAYAS are all good looking women. He should be de-robed and put behind bars -sooner the better.

I am not surprised at the behavior of Uduwe Dhammalokha thero. However, I would like to remind the readers that Uduwe Dhammaloka switched sides in 2005 from MR to RW. Uduwe Dhammaloka thero was one of the chief campaigners of Ranil’s presidential election campaign in 2005. So my dear fellows he is well protected by Ranil.
So I suspect Uduwe Dhammaloka to be a party involved in destroying Buddhism within Buddha Sasanaya. He is well supported and funded by pretentious Buddhists and part time Buddhists of the political elites in Colombo.
Please do not denigrate Buddhism and understand the objectives of the Political elites and social elites of Colombo.
