MR Was Like A Terrorist: SF

Sarath Fonseka says former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was acting like a terrorist during his regime and says he brought more harm to the country than LTTE leader Prabhakaran.

Fonseka and Mahinda

Fonseka and Mahinda

Former Army Commander and Democratic Party Leader Sarath Fonseka, answering a question during an interview in the ITN last evening on his worst enemies said that MR was governing the country using ways and means that would have been followed by a terrorist.

“I would say Prabhakaran is the worst enemy – he was a ruthless terrorist that targeted and killed thousands of innocent civilians. He was a dangerous enemy but it was in the battlefield. . . But after his death, I realised that there was another individual who was destroying the country and meant to harm the people. . .” he said in his response, referring to MR.

He said that MR was going to do more damage to the country than Prabhakaran and that is why de made a decision to enter politics and challenge MR.

“This enemy of mine tried to kill me in various ways – in fact the whole of Rajapaksa family was out to get me. . . MR was acting like a terrorist, actually worse than a terrorist,” he told the interviewer.

Yes, all these prove well as nobody could deny that we have full freedom of speech safeguarded by MY3 and the administration to this day. That is real democracy. But autocrazy performed by the former Prez was beyond all norms.

The manner SF had been compelled to go through were beyond all morals and ethical standard while the very same powerful man protecting FORMER ltte Terrorists like KP and other FEW.

        why ?

They feel just because MR s term found the eleimination to civil war – should work as a licence them to loot and abuse the nation and the state to core.

I’m trying to determine who is more ungrateful, selfish and irresponsible. you or SF? btw what happened to the cooked up economic stats of previous government? The first monetary board of the new government acknowledged that inflation rate is correct and no need to adjust interest rates. Oh I know you just repeated the lies of kuruduwatte saradiel.

Mr Sirisena is very foolish not taking SF on board after winning the presidency. If SF is with the Gov as prominent member, public see Nugegoda rally or any future rallies differently, most of these people get confused about real Sinhalese hero if SF is close with the new Gov..
Mr Sirisena, you need SF in your left hand to calm down these extremist, emotional Sinhalese supremacists, still not too late… (RW is a fool and born looser as a national leader, don’t trust him too much. As a human he could be much above average though, …)

Aragim I am sorry to say yours is a crass comment on a truly great war hero. Maybe not the best politician ever, but no doubting his bravery.

If this Rajapakse bloke had to carry his stomach in his hands and rush to hospital as SF did, he would have ruled over this country even in death.

The visions of SF being dragged out of his hotel and pushed into a car on his way towards imprisonment, shortly after his defeat at the elections, tells us of the true story of the last regime. That people cannot understand the cruelty of that administration is the curse of our times.

SF is a hero, no doubting that. But a rough diamond, which is to say, a diamond nevertheless.

          Justice & Fairplay,

Yes I do agree that mine was a grossly crude and crass comment and I have no reservation about it. That was exactly what I wanted to do. I was really hurt and so were the hundreds and thousand of people in this country who are not numb to stench when SF said “he (MR) brought more harm to the country than LTTE leader Prabhakaran”. So, that was how I payed him back in his own coin. I’m not challenging his bravery on any stretch of the imagination. I also agree that he played his part to his motherland and I’m not taking anything out of it. He is a true hero and he deserves to be called a hero. But never forget the fact that there were thousands of unsung heroes in this land who were even brave enough to carry their intestine and other organs in their hands but couldn’t simply do so because their hands too were gone. So, the mere fact of being a hero doesn’t give you a free license to utter filthy words such as these. And even MR, who played his part in this contemporary freedom struggle, the most critical and the decisive of all, which that jerk RW and CBK made a mockery out of, is no exception for that. And one last thing Mr. J & F’play; you are talking about the curse of our time the curse of not understanding the cruelty of last regime (MR regime). So what about the cruelty of Yahapalana king Ranil W. at Batalanda and the heinous crimes perpetrated by that Hermit, Sajith’s father RP during 88/89? What about turning a blind eye to what these Yahapalana guys did at Millennium City? What about people, not being able to understand those demoralizing words by that sucker, Ravi K when our boys are going great guns in Kilinochchi? Is it a curse or what?

The best man to handle the Rajapakse clan is Gen. Sarath F. Given his way he will wipe out the entire Medamula clan – lock, stock and barrel.
He has special skills and the congenital nature of what the CIA terms as “act with extreme prejudice” He’d love to balance scores where he was hauled up like a dog and thrown into prison. He is a born brute. You need brutes to handle brutes.

It was sad, brought a chapter of unhappiness to the country, how two patriots of SL, could fall out so soon after a heroic war that was gripping with genocide, slaughter of innocent people for 30 years ended by your efforts. The writer knows both by friendship and relationship. Mr Rajapakse did make lot of mistakes, poor judgements and he had bad advisors around him, the immature behaviour of the sons did not help him either. The country is facing a bigger challenge from Wigneswaran, Sambanthan and the latter day Thamil politicians and LTTE diaspora. I travel overseas extensively in England, Canada, Europe, India Australia China, been well informed Thamils are preparing for another racist war, with funding and training, hoping and believing India and other world powers will come in an impose separate state for Thamils in SL. It could be the dream of most overseas Thamils and likes of CW, Sambanthan. This is why we need unity to avoid the seeds of genocide sown by CW. You have a right to be angry and express your anger but no other leaders apart from Mr Rajapakse and you had the courage to take on Velupunde Prabhakaran Sri Lanka owes you a deep gratitude, other politicians gained financially from the war. Please do not let Sri Lanka fall into the abyss of cunning plans of Thamil politicians and LTTE goons. CW from the time he was in that position never cooperated with the government, he had this hidden agenda, now Mr Sirisena is in power and the understandings they have CW is exploiting and funded heavily by LTTE overseas

The present govt. is trying to eliminate fear mongers like you and I hope you will be made to answer about the allegations you made.By the
way ,the name of the Ltte leader is Veluppillai Pirabhaharan and not Velupunde, as this word is filth in Tamil language.

I decide to choose my adjectives in describing Velupunde Prabahkharan, tell me why he needs respect for killing thousnads of innocent lives, using innocent people during last days of the war for his protection, when he could not face the music himself, people like him desrve no respect, he ruined the country for 30 years. I was working in Jaffna when he killed the myaor of Jaffna in 1972, (I forget his name) he wsa a decent, good man of course not the same caste as VP and he supported the government of the day.

Tilak – Noted your reply and un parliamentary words are not generally entertained by reading public in this esteem journal CT
Will you use the same word on Rohana W.of JVP, who also killed people.Unlike Mahathma Ghandi and Nelson Mandela, these two men took up to armed struggle for a cause, what ever it may be but normal people on both sides never liked the armed struggle and
both uprisings were put down at a very high cost & lives.

You should go back to the history of the Tamil Problem and you will know who brought up Prabhakaran. From 1956 on wards the successive govts. took the Tamils for a ride. You must be aware that so many pacts, like Banda/Chelva,Dundley/Chelva,Sirimavo/TULF,
Chandrika/TULF and so on, were abrogated with no valid reasons, given. Pogroms, riots against the Tamils took place routinely,
starting in 1956 and 1983 riots was the worst in SL history, as you know, and Tamils disintegrated, some killed, Some returned, giving up their jobs and property,to Tamil areas and the affluent fled the country.
These pogroms were planned and at times done with the help of the govt. and other times, by unruly mobs instigated by Buddhist clergy and extreme communal elements and Tamils were losing their livelihood and self respect. On top it,’Sinhala only’ was introduced to discourage young Tamil youth joining govt. services
and those who were already there, were forced to retire, offering small perks and created economic hardships for the Tamils Further,
standardization in education was introduced by Srimavo to cut down
on the intake of large no. of Tamils to the Universities, as They had to score much more marks than their majority counter parts to enter, thro’ this policy, thus depriving higher education to the Tamil youths.Meantime Tamils parties were side lined and the successive govts. saw to that no concessions were given, thus treating the Tamils as second class citizens. Naturally, the disgruntled Tamil youths started the uprising and unfortunately, it turned out to be an armed struggle to an un imaginable heights with Prabaharan leading the Ltte. You said that you were serving in Jaffna during the time of Jaffna Mayor, Alfred Duraiappah and did you not find the Jaffna people peaceful, religious and concerned more on educating their children, rather than favouring terrorism. They aligned with the Ltte, not for the love of it, but for protection as there were no body to take care of them as political parties were sidelined and true to their thinking, intimidation and rioting by the majority(not the educated)stopped,
due to fear of Ltte retaliations, though discriminations were fully
enforced by other means. This is the story behind formation of Ltte and subsequent destruction of lives and property caused by them ,which is irreparable. You wanted an answer and its given and lets close this subject, as we should use the space in this great journal for more useful purposes. The new trend is that people from both sides of the divide, want to unite the people
of all communities, headed by the president himself, so lets join the President in his efforts and March forward, putting behind the past.

            Dear Lanka Watch,

Re “The new trend is that people from both sides of the divide, want to unite the people of all communities, headed by the president himself, so lets join the President in his efforts and March forward, putting behind the past. ”

I agree with what you say but a few corrections have to be made in what you wrote.

Tamil Language (Special Provisions) Act (No. 28 of 1958) made the language clauses of the BC Pact a Reality.

Mr Neville Jayaweera, as the GA Jaffna, implemented the above Act (even before it was Gazetted). The Official Language Act was NEVER implemented in the North.

The provisions relating to language in the Dudley Chelva pact also became a reality as the required regulations were enacted.

Both Pacts were SECRET PACTS between two leaders one Sinhala and the other Tamil. Nothing in those Pacts had the support of the voting public. BOTH pacts contained controversial clauses on Land that affected those who were not Tamil adversely. Hence it is no surprise that it ran into problems.

Neither Banda, Chelva or Dudley should have gone behind the backs of the public and entered into secret deals that they had no authority to enter.

As can be seen from the above the Language issue was settled as per the BC and DC secret pacts but not the Land issue.

            More in my next post.

            Kind Regards,

              Off the Cuff,

Don’t know what age group you belong to and I must tell you that I learnt about the pacts through the media and
Times of Ceylon and Daily news carried the discussions in detail
and how could you say that these pacts were secretly signed. Do
you think that SJV. Chelva QC an eminent lawyer and one time supreme court judge, and a Thomian , SWRD & Dudley, also from good schools and respectable families, were people of low integrity, like the parliamentarians of today, to have signed secret pacts, hiding the truth from the people. It is very unfortunate that the Oxford educated SWRD brought the ‘Sinhala only’ legislation and the rot started in the county there after and it was peaceful before that period and I was a witness to it.This is not my view
only and the majority feels it that way now.

                Dear Lanka Watch,

Please re read what I wrote.

Both Pacts were SECRET PACTS between two leaders one Sinhala and the other Tamil. Nothing in those Pacts had the support of the voting public.

It was not in any Election Manifesto and hence was a secret from the Voting Public. The schools of the participants and family history are irrelevant.

The discussion that took place were private between the Tamil Kingdom Party viz ITAK (S. J. V. Chelvanayakam, V. A. Kandiah, N. R. Rajavarothayam, Dr E. M. V. Naganathan and V. Navaratnam) and the government (the PM SWRD Bandaranaike, Minister Stanley de Zoysa and P. Navaratnarajah)

It contained controversial clauses on Land which even today is the main contentious issue.

                quote
                5. Parliament is to delegate powers and to specify them in the Act. It was agreed that regional councils should have powers over specified subjects including agriculture, cooperatives, lands and land developments, colonization, education, health, industries, fisheries, housing, social services, electricity, water schemes and roads.

                6. It was agreed that in the matter of colonization schemes the powers of the regional councils shall include the power to select allottees to whom land within their area of authority shall be alienated and also power to select personnel to be employed for work on such schemes. The position regarding the area at present administered by Gal Oya Board in this matter requires consideration.
                unquote

The Tamils wanted control of Land in N and E provinces. This is about 40% of Lanka but only 7.9% of the 15.27% total Tamil population lived there. The balance 7.37% of Tamils lived OUTSIDE the N & E

Tamils in the Northern and Eastern Provinces
                Lanka Tamils 1,598,219
                Indian Tamils 11,940
                As a percent of Lanka’s Population 7.91%

Others Living OUTSIDE North and East 17,742,614
                As a percent of Lanka’s population 87.15%
This includes 7.37% Tamils living outside the N and E ie almost HALF the total Tamil population of Lanka lives OUTSIDE the N & E.

The Tamils wanted 40% of Land for a population of 7.9% and expected 87.15% of others (of whom 7.37% were Tamils) to be satisfied with the remaining 60% of Land.

It was a FOOLISH and UNJUST demand that was guaranteed to fail when it became known.

On Language this is what it said.

“The Prime Minister stated that as mentioned by him earlier it was not possible for him to take any steps that would abrogate the Official Language Act.

After discussion it was agreed that the proposed legislation should contain recognition of Tamil as the language of the national minority of Ceylon and that the four points mentioned by Prime Minister should include provision that, without infringing on the position of the Official Language as such, the language of administration of the Northern and eastern Provinces be Tamil, and that any necessary provision be made for the non-Tamil speaking minorities in the Northern and eastern Provinces.”

This was met by the Tamil Language (Special Provisions) Act No. 28 of 1958. It was this Act that was implemented in the North and East. The Official Language Act of 1956 (Sinhala Only) was never implemented there.

Please note that the Tamil Language (Special Provisions) Act No. 28 of 1958 was implemented EVEN BEFORE it was Gazetted.

Hence what remains unimplemented of the Banda Chelva and Dudley Chelva pacts is ONLY the above Contentious and Unjust Land issues.

If you think this demand is fair please justify it.

                Kind Regards,

As was said earlier this Tilak de Silva is a liar with a filthy mouth and fetish for the female organ.
Alfred Duraiyappah was killed in 1975 and not in 1972. It is doubtful you ever worked in Jaffna at that time. The rest of your “political knowledge” is not worth a dime. Your claims of
being a regular world traveller is one more massive con. The greatest danger for the Sinhala Nation in that now declared process of reconciliation with the Tamils is half-baked pseudo-patriots like you. Your rightful place is in Booruwansa’s bera brigade. As was said earlier. Tilak de Silva is a liar with a filthy mouth. Alfred Duraiyappah was killed in 1975. If you know any Tamil socially, it may be unlikely, ask them the meaning of the expression “poiyach chonnal porundja chollu” (If you tell a lie make it somewhat believable.

The “..two patriots of SL” you refer to belong to a long line of political and military leaders from the time of Premadasa, CBK and Rajapakse who fattened themselves from the spoils of the war between a rag tag army of shoeless men of about 10,000 (Govt. estimates) against a modern, fully mechanised armed force of over 300,000. Just don’t waste time blaming Tamilnadu, India, the UN and whatever. They will vehementally deny this but it is all the fault of the Sinhala side. Maduluwewa Sobitha Hamuduruwo, Anura Dissanayake and others accept this now.

Why was the war dragged for 30 years. Men like Waidyaratne and Fonseka extended the war for their own personal greed. Tamils and Sinhalese, including soldiers, were sacrificed in the carnage. Those are the heroes you are singing the praises of.

Sambanthan, Wigneswaren and Sumanthiran are risking unpopularity with their own Tamils when they ask their people to forgive and forget, to a large extent, so that Sinhalese and Tamils can live in peace – truly reconciled. This is Statesmanship you will not understand.

For God’s sake, learn some politics and appreciate their stand instead of repeating what you senselessly pick up here and there. Sinhalese blindly refused justice to Tamils in sharing power and the country, as a consequence, went down the pits. It can happen again – with worse outcomes for the territorial integrity of the entire country. It is when you learn to consider Tamils as your allies and friends and not your enemies we will be in the path to peace and reconciliation. Tamils can hit back too, in case you forgot – and the international community is with them. Sri Lanka, for the past many decades, is a virtual basket case except some of their leaders are billionaire with their loot hidden in Seychelles, Singapore,
Isle of Man, Gibraltar and many other places. These rotters are far too ignorant to know the UN has active agencies to recover stolen loot by dictators.

Kettikaran, take the previlege to answer your myths.

Let me tell you I don’t do business in public, you may not have met me, we are both glad for that. Historically LTTE diaspora was the main responsible partner supplier with armaments, finance, intelligence and logistics. Can you kindly enlighten me that all these LTTE goons overseas have given up their LTTE dreams, Rudrakumaran last week openly expressed that LTTE dream is still alive and proclaimed that it will be achieved. You are not telling that likes of Rudramumaran are just sitting twiddling their thumbs, these are the people that will fund, train supply LTTE fighters who are training in overseas countries including India. Take the blinkers off your eyes see and listen, Jaffna politicians are sowing seed of genocide, promoted by likes of Rudramkumaran, so called prime minister of a mythical country, formed by LTTE minds.

          2

          Tilak,

Rudy and whoever else in the Tamil diaspora are perfectly free to think and do what they want. But even those Tamils who grudgingly supported the LTTE during their time – only against Sinhala hegemony and the many decades of racial and linguistic injustice – are reluctant to go down that path again. Preventing Tamils from
rising again is left to the wisdom and political sagacity of the Sinhala side – often mislead by the politicised Mahanayakas – the cause of the division of the country along racial and religious lines.

To the credit of the new regime the appointment of two civilian Governors in the NP and EP, a Tamil CJ, a brilliant Tamil Governor of CBSL are all moves towards reconciliation by a liberal and sensible administration free of prejudice. The Tamil Nation takes note of this appreciatingly. Tamils are equally aware
these minor concessions will be termed a total sell-out of Sinhala Buddhist interests by arch communalists – the street loafer Weerawansa, Dinesh G, Gammanpila and now the new (old) recruit Vasudeva from the long dead Left.

This DeSilva just by travelling to countries with populations of 50million and 1 billion, found war preparation by third world failed state immigrants in those country… What an intelligence? These DeSilvas will be paid handsomely if they share their this special intelligence with respected country intelligent services (those countries actively monitoring radicals from all failed states)
This PARANGI DeSilvas call his fellow countrymen as “Thamil Velupunde”,. If These DeSilvas who burnt thousands of fellow Tamil houses and burnt Tamil countrymen alive in the past, have any brain’s, then they would knows who are the real curse to the country…

” Thamils are preparing for another racist war, “
In fact you are the one obsessed no wonder you are blind to what extent the JaRa pakses has looted and ruined this country.

What did you think the MaRa Govt.did. a Just war.
You are as paranoid as people in western countries about ISIS.
Tamils overseas are more engaged competing with each other as opposed to helping each other. Who has a better house with how many rooms and what their children are training educationally. They are not acting like wounded tigers but gloating about how they have fared after escaping from hell.

    “Sarath Fonseka says former President
Mahinda Rajapaksa was acting like a
terrorist during his regime and says
he brought more harm to the
    country than LTTE leader
    Prabhakaran.”
This statement is 100% correct. Prabhakaran did not kill their own Tamil people. He did not abuse women even from enemires. He fought for their own people not for his wealth and portfolios. He is a Real Hero. But Mahinda is a killer, rapist, thief and a cheater. For one and only thing he is praised by Sinhalese because Mahinda is a RACIST.

      Reply to Shamil

You keep saying that Prabahkaran ‘did not kill their own Tamil people, he did not abuse women from enemies. He fought for their own people not for his wealth and portfolios. He is areal hero’. Let me remind you only VP introduced child soldiers with cyanide capsule arond the neck, grabbing children from weeping parents, that sin is enough for him to suffer, him and Adele Balasingham were the prime movers of putting child soldiers at front line. You may have forgotten VP killed any one who opposed him Thamil, Muslim or anybody including his own family members. Was he poor, NO way with Solheim and the looting of banks he was never poor, had enough money for low grade worker to send his children to study in Ireland and England. He was the biggest plunderer of innocent livesto serve his own meghlomaniac ideas. If the Sri Lankan army had not defeated him, Sri Lanka would be doing the world a grave injustice, he had to be defeated, racist a murderer.

Your “heroes” killed children, infants, babies in fact any living being (including their livestock) that had any connection to Tamils. They did not spare any living being who did not share their misdeeds, that includes their own tribe, Sinhalese too!

Most Tamil children willingly armed selves just to safeguard from the “beasts” who were roaming around in uniform with STATE SPONSORSHIP raping, killing, torturing and imprisoning any Tamil irrespective of age or gender!!

STATE has an obligation to protect its citizens irrespective of the language spoken by them. SINHALA STATE failed miserably(both blue, red and green) in this duty since independence. No body can deny this. Several STATE SPONSORED pogroms before Pirapaharan’s birth proves this.

I completely agree and have said the same to my friends, many times.
However, as a politician, in the current political culture, it’s an unwise tactical move for SF to make a statement like this, although what he’s saying is true.

Unfortunately, Sri Lankan political culture is not yet ready to accept the truth and elect leaders based on the truth.

    General Sarath Fonseka well said.
Mahinda Rajapaksa exactly behaved like a terrorist not only Mahinda but also his brother Gotabaya Rajapaksa also behaved like a terrorist.

I would like to add more even Mahinda’s three sons also behaved like terrorists.

Fortunately with the help of Tamil and muslims along with some sinhalese majority were able to elect Mr. Maithreepala Sirisena as a president of our country and we were able to send Mahinda Rajapaksa home.

Specially these two brothers( Mahinda and Gotabaya) despicably and viciously treated our War Hero General Sarath Fonseka.

These two people completely politicised whole society.
It is not easy to refine it soon.
Whole Rajapaksa family made our country horrible.
    This mess should be disentangled.
Now these two brothers must be brought to justice and imprisoned them for life.

JVP warns govt. against delay in taking action
      FRIDAY, 20 FEBRUARY 2015 17:35

      http://www.lankatruth.com/home/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=8438:jvp-warns-govt-against-delay-in-taking-action-&catid=36:top-stories&Itemid=124

“43 days have gone by since this government has been brought to power. No procedures have been taken within the 50 days of the 100 day programme of the government regarding serious frauds and corruption committed during the previous regime. The JVP would take to the streets with the people if such procedures are intentionally delayed. We have already arranged an agitation opposite fort Railway Station on the 26th.”

This was stated by the Information Secretary of the JVP Vijitha Herath addressing a media conference held at the head office of the JVP at Pelawatta today (20th). The President of Inter Company employees’ Union Wasantha Samarasinghe too participated.

Mr. Vijitha Herath further said, “The JVP is criticizing the government regarding the delay in investigating the complaints of frauds and corruption that have been brought up against the previous regime and we are mediating to prevent such delay and accelerate the procedures. Rajapaksa family rule and its chums massively exploited state resources and assets. We made this criticism even before the presidential election. After the election we, in addition to our criticisms, complained with evidence on 13th January to the Bribery Commission regarding those who are charged with mass scale frauds and corruption. We commenced our exercise exactly five days after the presidential election.

While many were talking about those who had committed small scale frauds and corruption, we complained with evidence against Mahinda Rajapaksa, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Basil, Namal, Ajith Nivad Cabraal, Sajin Vaas gunawardene, Rohitha Abeygunawardene, Johnston Fernando and several others. Subsequently, we were called for the Commission once to get information but no investigation has been started by the Commission.

We have complained to the Bribery Commission and the CID. We also have complained to Court of Appeal. 43 days have gone by since this government has been brought to power. No procedures have been taken within the 50 days of the 100 day programme of the government regarding serious frauds and corruption committed during the previous regime. There is only a statement that a committee had been appointed to investigate the complaints. 40 days have gone by to appoint this committee. The expectation of all people, in spite of their political affiliations, was to see the thieves who plundered public assets being punished. Now, this expectation of the people is being denied to them. We have been mediating and would mediate in the future to fulfill this expectation of the masses. The government that could not investigate bribes and frauds of the ministers of the previous government has been very quick in issuing a circular to provide vehicles and fuel to ministers of the previous government. People did not expect perks and facilities for thieves. They expected them to be punished. Good governance cannot be created in this manner.

The charges against KP are those that were stated by Lakshman Hulugalle who was the media spokesman of the Ministry of Defense. KP had used several passports. He had bought ships. There was the issue of a large amount of money and gold. He was also involved in international arms racket. Former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa too had made the same charges. However, there has been no investigation regarding him since 2009. We filed a petition in the Court of Appeal on 19th January. We asked for an order to arrest KP and carry out investigations. The petition was heard on 27th January. Further hearing was put off to 5th February. The Attorney General’s Department informed that time was needed to forward a report on KP. Accordingly, we appeared before Court on 19th February. No investigation report was forwarded. It was stated that the Attorney General’s Department had not received any report on KP from security sections. Even today he is maintaining an NGO in Killinochchi with the protection of security sections. Why couldn’t the Attorney General get information about him? The whole country knows about KP. The world knows about him. There are complaints against KP in India as well. However, there are no reports about him in our country. Is the reason for the delay a manipulation by a hidden hand? Why does it take so much time? Instead of accelerated procedures the snail pace is followed. Despite KP being in custody for several years, there is not even half a sheet of paper of a report against him.

Legal action against mass scale fraudsters doesn’t take place when action against fraudsters is postponed. As a result there won’t be any stop to frauds and corruption in the society. As soon as election results were announced there was an attempt in the morning on the 9th to withdraw Yoshitha Rajapaksa from the Navy. Now he has left the country on special privileges. Comrade Nalinda Jayatissa complained to the Defense Secretary regarding Yoshitha Rajapaksa. While a committee had been appointed to investigate this complaint Yoshitha left the country. Who allowed him to go abroad? The Defense Secretary was sent a written complaint again. Basil Rajapaksa fled to the USA. Now a three months leave has been approved for him. Yoshitha Rajapaksa too has taken leave from the Navy. Action should be taken regarding these immediately. The JVP would take to the streets with the people if taking legal action is further delayed. We have already arranged an agitation opposite fort Railway Station on the 26th. We would have to take such action to draw people’s opposition to the delay in taking action against fraudsters. The government should immediately mediate to take legal action against those who were engaged in frauds and corruption.”

The President of Inter Company Employees’ Union Wasantha Samarasinghe speaking to the media said, “In the interim budget proposals presented on 29th January the private sector employees were told they would be given Rs.2500 salary increase. The private sector employees as well as state sector employees should be given a salary increase of Rs.10,000. For, both buy goods from the same shop. They all have the same COL. We have informed this to the Minister of Finance and the President. The government is marking time without giving the private sector employees the minimum increase of Rs.2500. It had been said salaries would be increased through wages boards. Wages board is an antiquated, worthless structure. It is said that there are already 43 such boards of which five are inactive. What the wages board does is to decide the minimum wage. As a result the salary increase for private sector employees is getting delayed. We demand the government to adopt in Parliament a bill like the No. 36 of 2005 and get the salaries of the private sector employees increased. The salaries of private sector employees have not been increased even by one rupee since 2006. We do not accept deceptive statements of the government. A gazette has not been issued yet regarding the Rs.280 living allowance. The employees of the private sector sacrificed a lot to send home Mahinda Rajapaksa regime and bring in Mr. Maithripala Sirisena. Now their aspirations are being shattered even before the 100 day period approaches. We demand the government to adopt a Parliamentary bill within the hundred day programme to increase salaries of the private sector.

An agitation campaign would be held at Katunayaka on the 25th to demand the government for this action. Agitations would be held at Biyagama, Ratmalana and other places. If the government doesn’t listen to us we would hold a massive rally in Colombo in March. As such, the government should immediately take action to solve the salaries issue.”

Gen. Sarath Fonseka has the freedom to say what he wants. Imagine this happening during MR rule!

    He will be toast!

  • 4
    5

There are somethings that this Government will not or be unable to investigate. That includes the murder of Lasantha Wickremetunge and the assault and cruel perverted attack on Keith Noyahr. Why? Think carefully comrades. SF was their point man and fell out over different issues and not on the conduct of the war nor the ethics of war. He was very well looked after by MR who even sent commandos to protect his family in the USA.

The former son in law was allegedly “consulting” to the Army too. They lived a nice life in the US but came back to do “business” in Sri lanka as soon as he was made commander. Was that coincidence?

SF no doubt was the smartest most able commander the SLA had. His concept of using 8 man teams like the US SEALS do wreaked havoc behind Tamil Terrorist Tiger camps and disrupted their supply lines. This was a new concept for the rather boring staid SLA. If not for him the war plans would not have been executed properly. But along with him you need to give credit to the ground commanders who executed the battle plans at the end. SF was in China negotiating with his entire family there the last week. Why was that ? In the heat of battle he goes to China with his family? Who was he seeing and who was paying?

But he has a giant chip on his shoulder and ego too. Gets very angry and vindictive. He and Gota removed Chandrika madams security to punish her because she refused to give him an extension. He is a Sinhala patriot but lots of his plans were good; he wanted to make sure Tigers never build camps in the jungles by declaring natural habitat environmental protection zone. he wanted to settle military families too.

Sadly their falling out was not on principle but SF was very angry at the way he was not given an extension as Army commander. RAW had role to play in warning MR and Gota about that. When he was made CDS his wings were clipped. He also hated people like Karannagoda and didn’t want to share the glory of the victory with anyone. He was a glory hound.

Sad to see how Sinhalese still fight amongst themselves when the Tamil tigers and normal tamils are working towards getting Eelam via Ranil W with all the pressure that is building. All the sacrifices the soldiers made will come to naught in 3 years as Eelamist have their way and there will not be a competent commander like SF to protect SL;s unitary nature.

“If not for him the war plans would not have been executed properly. But along with him you need to give credit to the ground commanders who executed the battle plans at the end.”

So you agree that it was SF’s idea and that he was the one who effected a plan to out do the LTTE.. Where does Gota stand? Isn’t he the one who FLED to USA and claimed Asylum vacating post, than stay and fight? He came back ONLY after his brother became President? what a COWARD…..? MR was at the right place at the right time as the President who just placed his signature.. SF saw to all the minute details and effected the plan to best effect, even while he was in China at the crunch stages of the war.. SO SF becomes the HERO and GOATa (the Megalomaniac)is a ZERO whose BOOK ” GOATa’s WAR” need to be taken off the shelves and off the market…and dragged to Hague for crimes against Humanity … Matale murders which happened on his watch, Rathpusella too happened on his watch..and other atrocities.

His Ex Son in law got bail suddenly. Was that a coincidence too?

What did he do to Iqbal Athas that he had to stop writing and flee? Were both SF and GR involved in the Lasantha and Keith Noyahr attacks? will some be framed before elections by vindictive people. As they say “Sinhalaya modaya; kavun kanna yodhaya”. Tiger diaspora is enjoying this falling out and bickering amongst Sinhalese people.

“His Ex Son in law got bail suddenly. Was that a coincidence too? “

Ex son in law ? when did he tell you that he divorced SF’s daughter ? coincident ? why don’t you ask your hero MR about the deal ? Western conspiracy , Diaspora , Mawbima , Deshapramee etc ring any bells , without these words Thunmulle Wimale wouldn’t survive a minute , so do you !

    LOL, what a joke.
This man was a nobody before the Rajapakse Junta (which he was part of) when only under the Rs he became a somebody. The moment he left he became a nobody again.

If Ranil was still PM post 2004 or became President this man would have disappeared without anyone hearing or remembering who he is.

Again tell us Fonny, how did you, your wife and daughters (plus son in laws) all magically get Green Cards to the US?

Tell us how Robert Blake trapped you like the FOOL you are. Your idiot son in law did illegal business deals in the US (supported by Blake) and then he used that as leverage against you. To save him from entering Federal prison you sold Sri Lanka out. This “genius” was black mailed by Robert Blake.

    Blood is thicker than water.
And for all of you hating MR for what ever reasons, god help you lot if Fonseka became President.

I have been watching all the witch hunt, vengeance, lies, manipulation of good governance and rules of outlaw on CJ , media blow out of proportion , truth questionable and now I can see the true colours from the new regime. The decision during the elections will be very vital for the future of the next generation. We cannot be victims of others wrong doing. Neither blackmailed by others. We were in the right direction previously, not now. Realised that timely and now will see a clearer picture. No one wants to see Sri Lanka come up. Why? Instead of helping breaking up the country and separate to please others, when will we ever learn. Or is it too late.

Two goons were competing for Jewelry and women from Northern loots. It is not that strange when to getting into fight for the robbery they did together.

Old King prisoned Fonseka mainly for the bribe and commission. Releasing the other part of the secret may make the matter more complicated.

New King was saying he had file on the Old King. Now he has gone silent on that and has even allowed Old King freely get back into democratic election process. That is what you call political experience. Brother Prince promoted Fonseka for all his deed in North Province. Fonseka can be whining, but does have only brutal killing experience.

Both MR and VP are true sons of the soil. Look alike cousins, with their own supporters. VP would have won an election, hands down if he contested one in the North.

As Dayan J opined, VP had to be removed from the equation for Tamil Political space to open. Same goes to MR, he too had to be sent on holidays for the political temperature to reset in SL.

I view that both SF and GR must be sent on retirement.
With personal baggage they carry and Axe’s to grind, they will create havoc if elevated to higher positions.
They have done their share of work and now they must step aside. Thank you very much.
The Nation must be run by Civilians with no past connection to our Armed Forces.

MR provided political leadership; GR held his cool and was steadfast in front of powerful ministers from France and UK coming trying to rescue the arch terrorist Prabhakaran. For those acts of courage I respect them. But the true hero of the nation, the one who really stuck his neck out and chartered a strategy at the battlefield was General Fonseka. When all else failed in the, and in the mounting pressure from increasing death of soldiers, SF calmly and steadily steered the the drive by SLA to achieve its victory on land. He is the true hero of our country. GR and MR tried to steal what General Fonseka achieved by pretentiously assuming that they were the Tissa and Gamini from Maagama. What a pair of dreamers? Sri Lankan people may be politically nieve, but they have their head and hearts in the right place when it comes to who deserved the credit for liberating the country from fear of terrorism. For everything that MR and GR had done to General Fonseka in public, Karma and Effect like, natural justice had caught up with these two Rajapakshas. Let it be a lesson to all other evil, totalitarian dictators and criminal politicians in this country. Your time will come too. General Fonseka, I am glad to see you back where you could serve the country, a true Sri Lankan Hero.

What SF should understand is that defaming MR is same are giving more proof to international community that SLA fought a corrupted war. MR did the same mistake by putting SF in jail. US nor UK love or wish well being of SL. There objectives are to have a foot print in the island nation which is in the strategic position and make sure SL offers autonomy to Tamils so that they can get tamil votes. Because MR was lenient towards China western powers had difficulties in reaching SL. Thats why US backs the new government. Thats why all HR issues and stuff being loosen just after new government is elected. We all should look at the bigger picture.

I agree with SF that MR is worse terrorist than VP. VP declared his intentions, never wavered from them and did what he said he would do. VP was a true, self-declared and well identified enemy of Lanka.

On the other hand MR is a parasite feeding on his host’s blood and killing the victim slowly insead of suddenly, all the while keeping the host in a false state of security and pleasure. As Nugegoda has shown, he will do everything to make come back to continue with his blood sucking even after he is removed from the hosts’s body. It would be very difficult to defend against this covert enemy.
