Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who met President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s house three days ago, informed him that he will be quitting politics for good in the next three months, as his two sisters have advised him to do so, Colombo Telegraph reliably learns.
However on the pretext of naming his sisters Preethi and Gandhini’s demands, the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s modus operandi is to seek protection from current President Maithripala Sirisena for himself and that of his sons and siblings a source close to Champika Ranawaka told Colombo Telegraph.

The FCID and the Bribery Commission resumed their hunt on members of the former Rajapaksa regime the day following the general elections for the acts of abuse of power, forgery, murder, fraud, corruption and malpractices during their rule of self reigned power.
The Presidential Commission of Inquiry also grilled the former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa for over five hours last Monday, over allegations of misusing state funds and using personnel of the state-owned security firm, Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Limited (RALL) for the presidential election campaign.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa had blurted that his older brother’s actions and continued attempts at clinging onto power is endangering himself and that of his sons Namal and Yoshitha.
“The Rajapksa’s openly swindled and ran the country in a true mafia style family operation and there is no way that they are going to get away from this” a source close to Chandrika Kumaratunga went on to tell Colombo Telegraph.

I mentioned the TRUTH of meeting the President Mr. Sirisena on several occasions and also the numerous telephone calls that were taken by him. He is now sitting on a “hot tin roof” and it is getting hotter and hotter. He will also abandon all his “goons” when the time comes to answer for them too. Yet, I still do not trust Ranil, because he owes so much to him for his survival during the time he was the Leader of the Opposition. Why few months time and waited for his sisters to advise? If he was careful and able to see what was in stock for the future, the “Foursome” (Wimal,Vasu,Gammanpita & Dinesh)who initiated that “Nugegoda Street Drama” would have been “KICKED” out in the first place and sought the advice of the close friends and listened to sound advice of the long standing SLFP members. He suffered heavily from his own EGO and according to Buddhist teachings it was “SAKKAYA DITTHI” (Personality Belief). I do not know how and why any of the Buddhist Monks who received him in those temples he visited prior to the Parliamentary elections did not advise him of this FIRST of the TEN “FETTERS” that brings the total downfall of ones personality and character. In short, he DUG HIS OWN GRAVE. To the family: You too FAILED him, because you all were not HONOUST to yourself. You all SUCKED the last ounce of blood of him. Can you SAVE him? I doubt it very much.

Rajapaksa didn’t do anything that the US Federal Reserve isn’t already doing…..it’s all to do with money creation. If all these supposed “plundering of the national wealth” was left to mature – hedge funds and money laundering schemes and others, – Sri Lanka would have had an even higher GDP than previous years. It’s all a matter of perception.
Nothing is clean in a capitalistic society. That is why I have showing support for a socialist/communist society, where one cannot create money out of thin air, at the expense of another place or country, but out of true value of country-worth – tough, but honorable, and worth it for country sustenance.
We don’t need elites making money within their own circles, and off the backs of the masses(and flying to the West to indulge in the Western experience), and handing scraps to the masses (of both races).
Guess with the US alliance, UNP can rest easy as the US feds will take care of all those gritty “plundering” details at the expense of China and allies.
Guess it’s good that UNP and Ranil took over, otherwise we would have had the US and allies circling our heads. But it’s good if Rajapaksa was let in a bit too (deputy PM?), to handle some trade with China. Best that we don’t go with too much with any one side, but form national government and do what is best for the country (minus an Indian land-bridge).

There has to be compromise in politics, but if it turns out that lots of murders, billions in swindlings, and (according to Tamil Sources) serious attempts at genocide, are what are to be swept under carpets, then there can be no blanket forgetting.
