UPFA Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa who was arrested this evening by the FCID, over his alleged involvement in a financial misappropriation case of Rs. 70 million, has been remanded till July 18 by the Fort Magistrate.

Namal

Namal

Namal, the eldest son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was arrested when he arrived at the FCID to give a statement on the case.

Just hours before his arrest, Namal in a tweet said that it was the Government Ministers who decided who to arrest and when to arrest them. He tweeted this on Sunday in a response to another tweet where it quoted Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake saying that Namal will be arrested tomorrow (Monday).

“Good governance at its best: Government Ministers decide who to arrest. We’ll not stop our struggle for a people’s government,” Namal said in his Tweet.

I believe these young men are not responsible for their crimes.

Parents should have taught them the way they have to others funds.

Appachchi will start his merrygo round tour with vsiting next temple. Repeating all these are poltically based revengeful acts. Most likely the man will prevaricate any questions would be the case. The problem is even to this date, Journos are not capable to approach asking them anything. They the journo are accoutable not to have questioned and revealed all the bits yet – given today s context. Instead – they are still on the agendas of Rajakashe hidden networks.

Then people will rally round asking RW to step down.. calling Mr Sirisena to step down.. even within colombo areas – people will go to streets…

        is that you want ?

For them, even if their lovely ones would have been raped on open air by Rajakaashes men, they would still love them.. for one reason they believe Rajakashe is the magical man who liberated the country from Ltters.

But Mr Sirissena liberated the country and folks from Rajakashe – thatis for the secondary.

we know HOW THE STUPID blood of people boil…. no matter the facts and findings re thre, leaving them aside – go for emotions.. typical developing uncivlized nature.

They have no brains to see it – but to follow the neigbour… that is how the typical grass eating folks have been

So long they would not change their fodder brand, nothing cant help.

I wonder why ministers talk about who is to be arrested now.Think of Rajitha who got 12 summons to be appeared in front of Bribery Commission but ignored. His fortunate secretary has 6 deep sea trawlers!.Karina got promoted, no talk about KP and above all billions of rupees stolen from CB and still Ranil is trying hard to save Arjun even though chief audit with senior bank officers accused him.Nothing so far proven against MR ,Jamal or Gota. and we remember Mangala’s false propaganda of Gota owing Apollo Hospital and Shangri La hotel which was opened by MY3 last week.

politicians like the bath parcel & addiya voter are there for the same loot the get rich quick portfolio and democracy is the means to achieve that end. The government and opposition from 48 have never been different except many new civil servants and bureaucrats have arrived to imetiate the path of their predecessor and families now living in luxury overseas.
What brings civil servants and politicians back to lanka is the demand for VVIP passport and worldwide free travel.
So it would be futile for MR2 Sira to accuse MR1 as both use the same system where documents go missing like burning libraries, kachcheris both a national pastime of kerala and lanka.

How about Basil’s wife that used a charity as a front, Gota’s wife that used state resources to bring puppies for her, Vass, Modawansa in other words majority of JO and their partners should be in Jail not parliament and home.

In all these arrests and Basil going back and forth, one thing I can read is that there will be a bipartisan support in our country to upgrade the prison with such facilities as massage centers, gym, swimming pool, of course, a/c room and internet, if that even provided in the exam hall, come it could be excluded in a prison?. Rs70M theft deserves all these peaks, not the Rs70, stolen to buy a loaf bread, but no body knows who this person was, so screw the poor bugger to show the world that law and order has been maintained per script in SL and streets are being cleaned up.

Namal has all the qualities (SL Std, I am talking about) to become the president of tomorrow and this arrest based on misappropriation of funds will only help maximize his chance, making him a victim in the eyes of ordinary folks, particularly Matara voters. I am not sure to which audience these soft games are being played whilst those criminals who committed heinous crimes including Namal as alleged are roaming free. So getting with beaming smile in to prison vehicle is quite understandable.

He is supposed to have amassed millions during his father’s reign. He apparently has assets in houses, buildings, companies, and stashes abroad, it is up to our investigators to find out exactly where his ill gotten gains are, and prosecute him. We have seen members of his family thrown in jail, but so far they come out after a few days and everything is back to normal. Serving a few days in prison does not justify what this family did during their reign. There were murders, millions missing or paid in commissions, and journalists lived in fear.
When will the people get justice?

NAK, if you were no blind, you should have seen the night car races – that the colombo people were then compelled to watch-

Today idiotic men and women see nothing wrong about that – how could those elderly people in colombo feel to that time ?

Who he thought they were to go for such races ? Were their european style opinion polls held to check the voice of the silent people ?

No nothing, people were under psychosis – if opposed, white vannie or butcher men would have taken them away ? Wanathamulle Sunil was one living example – for that nature allone, these men should be punished to the end. Merciless buggers born to destroy sinahala community. Rascals of their kind cant help anyone ACTUALYL but themselves

I think there is something big behind all these them to be away from proper investigation andfinally putting the all the shark in jails.

        A) Lanken grand party men are no stupid like JVPrs or other small parties;

They perfectly know it game playing and that is the only way out if focus on votes

JVPrs are blunt they have no decades long experience to see it right.
Unprs and SLFPs are matured – knowing the pulses of the majority stupid folks.

If the folks would have been civlized enough to see it right… these both parties would have to behave like the way some european countries do

        B) Democracie such as are provably dependent on the majority poor folks and their votes.

Had JVPrs been the manner those grand parties are, they could get more seats in last election, finalyl they were the ones who revealed a lot. Obviously, people dont like rebel nature of any parties.

The FCID…must apply the same techniques the police use to extract info…ex pull a nail shock the testicles …..close the drawer on the penis… make him inhale petrol ….a few THUNDERING slaps…a sl9n pole up his ass…he would spill the beans…rather than pamper them n make them visit often …wasting public resources n time…

In short serve the same meds they served others during Appachis regime…

Put them All in jail including the JO jokers….then go about developing the country n provide a decent living for the masses..ppl will forget the jarapasses n the goons who would rot in jail….

forget the lawyer part , he is an A (ace) rouge . This clown prince should have been arrested long time ago for his multiple crimes . Remember Mandana Ismail’s wee hour house breaking and subsequent killings , this clown is directly responsible for that murder too.
My question is why only one week ? is it to please the general public ? how come one judge went on sentencing 10 poor mothers for merely asking principal to admit their children in to a particular school , what sort of a justice system do have in SL ? every thing seems to be carefully orchestrated and executed according a pre-plan . why the hell Ravi K committed himself about this clown’s arrest yesterday ? then what about that serial cold blooded killer Gota the psychopath roaming freely with a stupid grin on his face ?
MY3 and RW will have to pay a huge prize for this silly cat and mouse game one day .

This has become a joke to this date.

Anyways, may be their opinion polls would have been saying if they woudl go blunt, there would be something like riots again. You know perfectly buru folks would tick right ?

No politicians would stay mum as has been if they know the real thoughts of the people. May be we the CT readers question the way, but other majoratarin folks…. they behave so indfiferent. Each time travelling the country I feel they the folks are kept away from facts …

To avoid all kind of disasters, the current duo should go forward in a snail pace. …. And the ther problem is the crisis before them – yes or no to reveal …
If reveal, thee would more problems than not reveal… they also have to see it the way war winning president ended up in some other countries..

      Tamil from the North –

You do not seem to understand the logic behind this move. If TNA and the Tamils of N/E start an agitation against the Govt, these chieftains,
who will become ministers, will be asked to release their cadre of armed
militia men to play havoc with the people and control the agitation and
the Govt. will play safe with the UN and IC by saying that the armed forces are not deployed in N/E & situation is normal, except for some pockets of resistance in N/E. There is no other reason we can think of,
for the free movement of the people, country wide who did heinous crimes
against humanity.so,my friend from the North, hope you understood.?

Fortunately TNA is playing a safe game by engaging the govt. with
dialogue and people, specially the women folks are enjoying a certain
amount of freedom, unlike during the previous regime but, for how long
      is the question.

There is nothing political about this crook’s arrest. He has stolen money from the Krish deal and there is enough evidence to lock this criminal up. Namla the crook is trying to make out that this is a political arrest- go tell this to the marines man, we all know what a bunch of rogues you and your family are. The idiots appearing with you showing their support and loyalty are all pimps who are also guilty of criminal activities. Nemesis has caught up with prince Namal Rajapaksa. During his father’s reign he strode like a prince received right royally by members of parliament, Ministers, army generals. Though Kilinochchi electorate is more than 250 miles from Colombo, Namal was virtually the de facto MP calling the shots. The just and unjust shall be known by their off-springs. Namal has been brought up badly by his parents.

One step forward in politics for Namal. Politicians who are imprisoned qualify as “A COMPLETE POLITICIAN”, history has shown us. Namla has faced this challenge (presently only an accused) has proven himself. But SHAME on our Muslim Politicians, especially from the North who is in the same boat as Namal, without facing the “LAW/FCID/Presidents Commission on Corruption” and EVADING the LAW with false excuses more than 10 times using political clout with the Government which they are enjoying selling the Muslim Votes “Lock-Stock-and-barrel”, it is a shame. The “Muslim Samudaayam” should retaliate in the proper manner, Insha Allah. This is why “THE MUSLIM VOICE” is crying/praying that A New Political Force arising from within the Muslim Community, especially from among the Youth should “politically” reprimand these deceptive, dishonest and unscrupulous Muslim politician in any of the forthcoming elections, Insha Allah .These hypocritical politicians should be got rid of from our innocent community soon, Insha Allah.

When Namal Baby was arrested for robbing the country, Shameless MR is asking if the govt. is happy now.

They robbed the country daylight and when get caught crying foul. Probably Mahinda must be feeling guilty for raising his kids as fraudsters. Children follow parents.

Everybody will be happy when full or part of the stolen money is recovered.

Yahapalana govt. is not pressurizing the judiciary system to falsify the judgments like what MR did in the past. Now the Judges are relishing total independence to deliver the right verdict.

What did Mahinda do when the Supreme Court said the Divi Naguma bill was unconstitutional and it require a referendum?

Mahinda and gang impeached Chief Justice and threw her out of Supreme Court and elected another CJ to pass the unconstitutional Divi Naguma bill. Then they got Basil Rajapakse to daylight rob the country by allocating all funds to Divi Naguma bill.

      Karma is a bitch…

Why does the former President keep yapping the rulers decide who gets arrested next and such nonsense? Why? Is is family and blood clean? Mahinda is the biggest insult to the office of presidency that Sri Lanka has seen. This is the epitome of the rise of the ” pol kadana eka ” becoming the coconut estate owner. This is the problem we are facing and shot sighted below the waist tactics of politicians like Mahinda is the reason for this.
