Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today declared that there will be no ‘adverse impact’ despite the interim order by Supreme Court preventing the implementation of the revised VAT and NBT taxes.

A Supreme Court bench including Chief Justice K. Sripavan issued an interim order following a Fundamental Rights petition filed by MP Wimal Weerawansa, challenging the tax revisions to VAT and NBT.

Issuing a statement, Wickremesinghe said “this interim order is not expected to have any adverse impact on the government’s revenue collection.”

He noted that the VAT (Amendment) Bill has already been presented to the Parliament for the first reading on 08 July 2016, and the second reading is expected on 23 July 2016.

“The Unity government, which has a clear majority in the Parliament, expects the legislative process to be completed before the end of the month of July 2016. Thereafter, the revised rates will be applicable with effect from 02 May 2016,” he added.

    By the way, cheers WW!

Ok, the lackeys, start rebelling me as a moron, rogue, rascal etc., etc., now Your welcome!

I really dont know you you guys seem to be wired when they the bunch are being caught by acts – .. Maxes filled srilanka will never have the chance to raise the head. Aney apoi.

Oh Laila, you have come again. Can you please consult Ravi K and ask who the next in line to the ‘maha ulu gedara will be? Since he apparently knows the plight of some politicians – yes MR aligned politicians – well before the learned judges, you can consult him and reveal us who is next so that I can arrange my day-to-day program accordingly and take some time to pay a visit to Welikada.

If you are confuse of the name change (Leelawathie to Laila), pls refer my counter comment to you in president’s “I no allow foreign judges” thread.

Laila, one more thing. You do not have to say “aney apoi”. SL is NOT full with ‘maxes’ but 62 lakhs of “Laila”s. Do you want me to believe, a sizeble portion of that 6.2 million has become ‘maxes’ now, as a result of bloody nonsense of the current administration?

Aunty Laila, can I suggest you a better thing to do in your vacation? Mediation. Because your mind deserves very much a meditation. You could belong to Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Muslim or any other belief, but meditation is no wrong for anyone in this modern day era.

The amount that your diagnosed with MR-phobia is way too much. Hence you have posed such a hilarious and dopey questions in the name of “why why why”. Your a living example for how much one can go down when he/she gets ill with hypocrisy.

Laila, get a life. Old age is no a barrier to get things right!

            Good luck!

Hey where do they else get the money from .. your god father had looted it to core… do we have other resources to get those sums from: Ballige puthas of your kind are plenty in the country. That is the marakaya for us.

        1

Shaaa Sam Fernando, what a classic way of calling an opponent? “Ballige putha”! Is it because yahapalanaya has gone deeper and deeper into your blood? Or your born to such?

By the way, Sam, since the govt is taking long and long time to unearth the money that “God fathers had looted” shall we suggest the govt to get the money back that Arjun Mahendra had looted? They are fresh money. Isnt it?

Even you leave your farts in public .. you start calling it Yahapala naya… EVEN If a man of UNP or SLPF would behave wrong – you call it that is the way it is Yahapalanya handled by CURRENT Duo, but why dont you guys cant see that collective thoughts matter.. not just single out can help further… Just beacause Rajakashes looted the treasury… all other SLFPers would not do so. Mr Sirisena has never done so in his political carrier.Even if his brothers were corrupted, but he kept them away.. .. from the begining on .. he became relatively exemplary.. his talks focuses all facets. .. Was that the case with Mr MR… never? His were like those of Wimal Weerawanse as we know not an educated person.

Even if you rape others verbally, you call it Yahapalanaya.. why is that ? is that because you are not upt to that level to see it or ? are u mad ?
.. is that the way you guys get the meaning of Yahapalanya..

Good governance can only be expected if majority of folks can comphrehend it as it is. Is it the case in this torn island ? No.. not even 20% would see it right – to respect others – dignified life… etc.. they just want to compete the other by any means. Who brought this culture.. that speedly.. if not Rajapakshe high men.. that is why some even dont want to see Rajaakshes anymore. They are allergic to those men.

“Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today declared that there will be no ‘adverse impact’ despite the interim order by Supreme Court preventing the implementation of the revised VAT and NBT taxes.”

If so, why were they imposed in the first place? Are we being lulled with nursery rhymes by Ranil too? Have our politicIans decided that we will always be inveterate fools?

Why not admit that this is a set back to the government and a failure in terms of not recognizing legal requirements. A man-Weerawanse-who made the rules and law donkeys to be ridden on and should be in jail now, has become a hero as a result!

UNP leader always that their power of politics depend of counting heads of their members in the Parliament. Not the mandate of
    promised to the public.

He(Ranil of UNP) did not realized the fact that UNP-arrogant policy which that bypasses without Parliament approval by ignore enacted act for TAX collection is violation of ‘rule of law’ and undermined ‘good governances’ they have been promised last Presidential Election in 2015 January 8th.

The UNP-Ranil w… always talk of enrich and strengthen power of Parliament in words but in deed its working to weaken sovereignty of powers of Parliaments. Last 18 months of his ruling governance of UNP leadership combined operation with MS and CBK join hand, they entirely diverted from Parliaments norms that undermined the sovereignty of peoples elected chamber.

Present case of VAT and NDT Tax issues was review by supreme court has to given verdict of how is that UNP leadership has by passed acts of people chamber collect Tax are by Illegally.

And Supreme court want noted and asked rectify and redressed error by UNP leadership of without consent of majority of chamber that collecting Taxes from the public is an unauthorised by State enforcement authorities having no legal binding at all.

That is message from Chief Justice of bench of supreme courts verdicts says .

UNP leadership has to go thorough proper procedure of parliament path of democracy. The UNP- current leadership has undermined and destroy such politics of the sovereignty of parliament , that is why the every UNP leaders and their members think we are with USA and UK, because of that we are above democracy ruling.

Any violation of democracy of UNP “ruling governances” that misrule by UNP leadership that they will come and rescue us by USA-CIA, UK-MI15 and Indian-RAW by hook or crook.

That has no relationship with modern democracy, that is power of gun rule politics of super-power of hegemonies praticiesed by dominated our land and surrender nation sovereignty to big nation politics of UNP neo-liberalism -Road map.

UNP line of politics must respect Majority rule and approved by Majority Parliament sovereignty is the sovereignty of People Republic of Sri lanka.

This lessons has totally discard by UNP leadership since 1977 under JRJ-UNP regimes 1994. Hence Ranil.w…of UNP want to re-introduce this unlawful politics into New generation of our future Sri lankan ?

The major parties must get together and agree on a broad policy statement. Taxes, subsidies, tariffs should be either to protect local industries or facilitate exports. Uncertainty will reflect badly for the country.

It shows that the present govn does what ever it wants without even consulting the law. RW does not know economics, now he has shown that he does not even know the law. Dear RW please ask some one who knows these things before making any blunders. Now the VAT thus far collected by various institutions will have to be paid back. People are entitled for a refund.

Tax cannot be imposed retrospectively. Do not become a joker (if you are not already)
