UPFA Parliamentarian, Namal Rajapaksa was released on bail today by the Fort Magistrate. He was released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and three sureties of Rs. 500,000 each. The Magistrate however issued a foreign travel ban on him.
The court has also granted permission to the FCID to examine several bank accountants of the suspect.
Namal, the eldest son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was arrested by the FCID on July 11, over his alleged involvement in a financial misappropriation case of Rs. 70 million, over the Krrish deal.
