Namal’s Father-In-Law And Chichi’s Mother-In-Law Appointed Directors At Airport & Aviation (Services) Ltd

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s plans of appointing people to government posts on meritocracy hit a stumbling block, when the Rajapaksa super brats MP Namal Rajapaksa and Rohitha Rajapaksa had their respective Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law appointed as Directors to the Airport and Aviation (Services) Sri Lanka Limited.

Rohitha Rajapaksa’s family and Mother-in Law Diedre De Livera

Unbeknownst to many, MP Namal Rajapaksa’s Father-In-Law Thilak Weerasinghe Chairman Lanka Sportreizen (LSR) and Rohitha Rajapaksa’s Mother-in Law Deirdre De Livera were appointed earlier as Directors of Airport and Aviation (Services) Sri Lanka Ltd.

Namal Rajapaksa and Father-In-Law Thilak Weerasinghe

The former beach boy Thilak Weerasinghe was a wind surfer who went on to win the National Wind Surfing Championships in Colombo before teaming up with a German tourist to start off his company now known as Lanka Sportsreizen (LSR).

Meanwhile according to Rohitha Rajapaksa’s (Chichi) Mother-in-Law Deirdre De Livera’s profile, it is stated that she is a Business Development Specialist at EXEL Holdings (Pvt) Ltd. She started off as an airline executive with Delmege Air Services (Pvt) Ltd.

To cap it all off the the post of Chairman Airport and Aviation (services) was accorded to the former Northern Province Governor Major General (Rtd.) G.A. Chandrasiri .

According to an article published in the Daily FT the appointed Chairman G.A. Chandrasiri openly confessed that he had no experience in his appointed role but was keen to learn on the job. (By Dasun Jayakody)

Thilak Weerasinghe is a tourism industry veteran and has been involved with the trade for more than 20 years. He has the largest fleet of tourist vehicles and is the owner of many hotels in the country. He has hotels all over the country. He is also the franchise holder for the SRI Lanka marathon which has become an annual event in the local calendar sand attracts many overseas runners.

Very happy to see some one like Thilak getting involved with the Airport Authority since the BIA is a total mess now and an eye sore to every tourist coming to the country.

        Dear Lankan,
        .
No, it’s not all right. Even if he is a success, it is nepotism. There may well be others with equal abilities, and with equal or better qualifications. Certainly, the objections will lose force if he has all the experience that is listed by Nimal Perera.
        .
The problem is that our citizens seem always to look for excuses to do nothing. I exposed corruption in this article:

One of my closest relatives was involved, and for years I had asked others to take it up. When I finally wrote it, you will find that the “Establishment” has not defended it, but many of my so-called friends didn’t comment, implying that it was “reverse nepotism”! There must be some hidden reason why I must have written it.
        .
Read it, and judge for yourself. Going by your arguments, with theirs added, nothing will ever be objected to by the cowards of Sri Lanka.
        .
I’m sorry that I’ve been rather harsh on you; I’m sure that you are a decent enough guy.

Not to worry, you’ve now corrected that.

We can see it coming, but can do nothing to stop it happening.

Predictable result. The SLPP will sweep the South. the “minority parties” may even be (unfairly) banned as being racist.
              .
That the two big “National Parties” have Sinhala-supremacist policies will never be acknowledged. Can any minority person ever lead one of them? No, not even a moderate Sinhalese.
              .
The closest we got to having “moderate Sinhalese leaders” in this country was with Dudley Senanayake, and CBK.

                      Sinhala Man@

Can you imagine? just leave your affinity to any part politicians. But we should have guts to call a spade a spade.

Lately I heard that the WIHARAADHIPATHI being one another diehard Rajapkashe supporter, Fake Prof. Panditha thero as the chief incumbent monk at Kelaniya temple together with his supporters make every effort to attack Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe.
Wikramasinghe s family is believed to have built Kelaniya Wiharaya at that time. They had spent lots of funds to make the place that sacred.
                      :
Likewise, Bandaranayaka sacrificed a whole lot of time and assets for the benefit of the nation. To that time, Mrs B was held as heorine world wide. In Europe yet today, they only know two terms about srilanka

That are ” CEYLON” and the other is ” BANDARANAYAKA”.
                      :
At the time TSUNAMI hit the nation killing over 40k people, donations flew to the country thanks to Mr Kadirgamar and Chandrika Bandaranayaka not because of BP Rascal Rajakshes

Today, as my parents and relatives are affected, to the very same manner, dignified respectful people are being hurt by every means. CBK is hurt by press reporters but in the same time, very press reports behave that obesequeous and penissless before Rajapakshe thugs.

And Rajakapakshe are known to the world:

each time when foreigners questioning me about current day polics, I though reluctantly bite my nails as I am so embarraced.

As rascals that destroyed the old democracies that maintained a decade long until they born killed grabed the power holding the vulnerble as human shieild.

Be he a butterfly or not is nothing to be worried. Even LGBT men and women can get married today in Europe.
-They are also human beings, and we dont care a person’s sex orientation so long the politics being delivered by them are within norms.

My gosh, you guys talk about CBK s son, but nothing about murderous sons of Mahinda BP Rajakshes. Why is that ? Is calculated MURDERs allowed in SRILANKA ?

I like to go even further and say LGBT community is far better than the so called Heterosexuals , when it comes to Social Evils . like Criminal behavior , Corruption , Racism ,and even simple day to social etiquette.

Sadly our LGBT Politicians in Lankawe are an exemption.
I am sure I do not need to digress..

And even recorded it for posterity.

But I am sorry to say even you should take a leaf from the Book of Etiquette and stop calling Rajapaksas, Ballige Puthas in Lankawe.

Finally, all my writing is in English. The most important messages must be in Sinhalese – different fora. Which reminds me that I must perform my “duty” of looking at the Sinhalese section of CT. Let’s face it. CT is doing a lot of good, but even Sinhalese articles on it will never be read by any except a handful of English-literate readers – like me!

When you scroll up, just a couple of spaces from where you currently are, you see “Colombo Telegraph” in Gothic letters below the browser task bar – top left in other words.
                .
You then have the “Menu” for CT: on it, you will find Tabs in this order:
                .
HOME NEWS OPINION WIKILEAKS VIDEO EDITOR’S CHOICE SINHALA
                .
So Sinhala in the right corner. Written in Sinhalese letters, for which my computers don’t have the capabilities – that is to say, that I haven’t installed the necessary software.
                .
All articles there are in Sinhalese, but comments can be either in English or in Sinhala.
                .
Poor “Justice and Fairplay” – you’re not a child, are you? It’s just like a new mobile phone. We get one, we spend hours learning how to use it. A five-year-old is uninhibited in his explorations, and so discovers all its secrets in a couple of hours.
                .
Your naive question suggests that there are lots of other things about this website (and others!) where you don’t know how to navigate. I hope you master it all. Good Luck!

            Dear Native Vedda,
            .
            I’m doing what I can,
but there are limits to what can be achieved before I finally kick the bucket. Yes, I’ve listened to the half hour that you’ve prescribed for me. However, let me confess that I haven’t read “Brave New World” and I’m unlikely to do so, because at this stage of my life, I find myself reading very few full-length books.
            .
I do know what the book is about, of course. I hadn’t even read Orwell’s novel, 1984. Then in that very year (1984), I found myself in Peradeniya as an undergraduate, with both novels in the reading list. So, I read the Orwell novel. It required greater effort than his delightful “Animal Farm”. I’m glad I read through both Orwell works.
            .
The following year we actually produced, full-length, Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”, which is where the title of the Huxley novel came from. Anyway, now playing in the background is this (half an hour already) more recent comparison of the two novels.
            .
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31CcclqEiZw
            .
What you gave me – amazingly relevant. Thanks.
            .
But may I ask, NV, why didn’t you comment at all on the task that I now have on my plate – and the article that I wrote? Now I have to write my “campaign letter” – not easy with little support.

            Native Vedda,
I’m not going to say much about this particular appointment b’cos enough is already written about potential nepotism under a MaRa/GoRa regime. The excuse behind the nepotism is the trustworthiness but in real world, the most likely outcome of nepotism is corruption. Therefore, no matter what Gora has in his mind, the final results won’t be any different from pre-2015! These kinds of appointments are the things to be expected; not surprises. Public should be ready to expect more of these as time goes.

Aldous Huxley, the grandson of famous T H Huxley, could have develop a better explanation on the tendency for nepotism had he followed his grand fathers’s work on the Theory of Evolution which was developed by his friend Darwin (Even though Huxley defended the theory ferociously to earn the nick name Darwin’s Bull Dog, he didn’t agree with every aspect of Darwin’s version. For example, Huxley didn’t agree with strong version of Darwin’s gradualism. Unfortunately, Aldous’s brother Julian Huxley, who also became one of the contributing evo biologists to the Modern Synthesis version of Darwin’s theory via his epochal 1942 book, Evolution: The Modern Synthesis, failed to follow grandfather’s insight). In my comments to various columns, I did try to explain the tendency for corrupt behavior like nepotism in evolutionary terms.

              Mr DP,

yes, their ONLY execuse is “trustworthyness”, But what have the kind of candidates done to the country going by their previous regime ?-

Jaliya Wickramasooriya is an another cousin with no proper educational background, but by having appointed him as the previous Embassador to the US, made SRILANKEN eternally laughter stock right ? Now the bugger is reported to be in a jail in the US for fund abuse charges.

The very same is with MR cousin or someone wihtin his family circle – Udayanga WEERATHUNGA, an another criminal that the interpole police search for…. having abused funds in huge volumes.

The very same DUO to go and appoint the kind of idiots have two good reasons

: They are diehard Rajapakshe men that would do anything and everything to them – Rajakashes care or dont foresee anything so long this qualification is there.

:And their corruption culture to be promoted

This is the very style abusive african leaders have been holding on to yet today, with exception being progress in current day Ethiopia.

Countries and nations go into all man made disasters, because the leaders of MR and GR nature, are not capable of taking country specific timely actions regarding a better future.

            Dear Native Vedda
Great that you gave SM the website for the Huxley interview. And, lucky for me, it comes with subtitles. Though I’d quite like to hear Huxley speaking, so I will listen to the rest if it tomoro once I have hearing aids in.
For some years in the 60s and 70s I lived very near the Huxley family’s house in Hampstead. Passed it almost every day. I think Julian was living there at that time. And in the 80s I met a SL woman who had worked for them in that very house, as a sort of companion.
Hampstead was a fascinating place to live, lots of interesting people, some of whom one met very easily, often in the pubs. Talking of literature, I met William Empson (of “Seven Types of Ambiguity” fame) in one where he used to play darts. And Peter O’Toole lived near the top of the hilly street on which the Huxley’s house was at the bottom. John Keats’ house was in another street close to mine. After I came to SL I learnt that Eric Hobsbawm, the Marxist historian, had moved into a house opposite the one I lived in.
Sorry, the Huxley interview set off a trail of irrelevant — to this CT article — memories.
Sorry, one more memory before I give way — my English landlord, Miles Tomalin, fought in the Spanish Civil War with the Republicans and a book I have of Civil War poetry has a poem by him. His son Nick, a journalist, wasnt so lucky. He was killed while reporting on the first US war against Iraq. But Miles was a lovely man and always came round with wine for us at New Year.
            Ah, those were good times.

31, Pond Street, Hampstead, is the house that Julian (at least) Huxley lived in — for anyone who’s interested in going to see it.

As Elders and those who have seen the world and lived fruitful life I would urge Sinhala Man, Spring Koha, Old Codger, you ….. Uthungan, Agnos, ….. many other good hearted people to at least lay the foundation for a better country in the future.

What is sad is younger generation sees corruption, murder, violence … stealing, as normal part of their life.

I am not too keen on literature now.

My favorite writers are Graham Greene and Charles Dickens, Graham for his keen eye for details and his support for Latin American countries, Charles for his vivid depiction of London during the mid 1850s.

Please do share your memories with us.

                Dear NV,
                .
Yes, although Manel says she sometimes suffers from depression and doesn’t want me to look her up, we do email each other, but cannot phone because she’s quite deaf. A woman with the highest ideals. She’s led a most interesting life, and has known so many people. They were some of the best people we ever had.
                .
That’s not a pseudonym that she uses but won’t let on to all of what she’s once been. If you google, you’ll find out. In a sense, she has the simplicity of a child. She’s also a committed socialist, and will be fighting chauvinism with her last breath. It’s worth paying attention to her.
                .
It is true that there is much that some of us could contribute, but we just can’t do much more than we now are. She didn’t want to comment on my article because her late husband and she just never like that “Old Boy” stuff and had never joined OBAs and OGAs. Like Prof. Kumar D., in that respect. Yes, I think that I can empathise with her on such matters. And yet that old school had so much to offer. They wanted me to take full charge of Mt Lavinia in 1990 (as Warden) but then one governor who now apologises to me, opposed it since I acknowledged that I did not have perfect Christian faith. Many things would have been very different had that happened.
                .

Now the problem is that I’m not happy with that tinge of snobbery that goes with all those Old Boy Clubs. There I could have made a real contribution at the level of sophistication that the State Schools do not offer. It’s difficult to fight relative personal poverty and work in that rarefied atmosphere at one and the same time. The guys in charge there have never been averse to imagining that the end justifies the means. I wonder if you are aware of how they came to appoint a good man without a bit of “required qualification, Read up about Eksith Fernando and the Supreme Court Cases involving the school. I just don’t know how to get these present fellows to understand how to preserve what is of value. What happens in a place like that does cause ripples which affect even the village.
                  .
I don’t think that I can afford to stay up and write about all that. Sleepy now!

                  Dear S_M
I’m afraid you’re slightly confused re why I didnt comment on that article. It wasnt because I /we weren’t into OBA’s etc., but because I didnt quite understand the problem & consequently didnt have anything to say about it.

‘Simplicity of a child’- wow, that’s a first! Not quite sure how to take that…but re the depression, S_M, that was really not for publicising.

But, in case I have left another wrong impression, you are correct in saying that we weren’t into OBA’s. In my case, perhaps because I only attended school in Ceylon for 4 years & that was spread over 3 schools. Not calculated to develop any patriotic fervour, even tho 1 year was at Trinity.

Have you any ideas yourself how we can “make this island brilliant place for kids to grow up and thrive”?

Whatever ideas you have, wouldnt we have to get together to exchange them, unless someone provides us with an online forum to do this — using the same names we use here.
Perhaps, some of us ancients dont really have the energy now to put our experiences into words.

I wonder if all the negative & evil things the younger generation today sees are any more than we saw in our time. True, in the political sphere, we may remember some upright, able & qualified people in parliament who were a far cry from most of the types that represent us now.
But my ghastly memories of communal violence in this country go right back to my childhood when I first came to Ceylon & witnessed the 1958 riots. Incidentally, living on the Peradeniya campus then, I was also shocked by the ragging (which people are only now realising should be banned), the humiliation that even female undergrads subjected freshers to. I was laughed at by girls I knew in a hall we lived next door to, when I expressed horror at what they were doing.

Sinhalayas have got that in their genetics.

Yours brought me back to my stay at Hilda Obeysekara for a period of 1 year or so until I left the country for Europe.

I was attacked by abusive seniors together batchas since I was very silent person. There were numerous times I was thrown on to a pond filled with waters. All these were happened to me while I was assleep. The level of ragging is still there in even brutal versions today.

These ragging at local Unis and child monk molestation by so called senior buddhist monks are not discussed in public forums for some hidden reasons yet today. See there are a whole lot of U tube video makers today, none of them have guts to bring anti-ragging video clips.

This is good old srilanka, filled with rascals and thugs. The situation of more like a STINKY garbage mountain but covered with sweety icing cake. Landscape wise srilanka is one of the beautifucal islands in this planet. But people would never respect morals. The culture and tradition has been like that for the last 5 decades.

And LEONARD you dont remember the following list?

Jaliya ballige putha balasooriya – MR s nephew or a cousin – better known to be a tea taster by job, who knows nothing but became srilanken ambassador to the US -now is said to be in jail in the US- is now caught in the act having stolen collosal amounts of state funds from both sides. He proved it to the world Rajapakshe blood is only related to high crimes of various nature.

Udayanga Weerathunga – an another close relative, a cousin or nephew from the very same Rajapakshe circles, is reported to have grabed over 7.4 million of US dollars along from that MIG flight purchase for which Lasantha Wickramatunga was murdered by Gotler then.

            Current Prez Secretary -Dr Jayasundara.

The man with Padikkam mouth – most known Wimal Buruwanse, then loudly made PUBLIC statements Jaysundara to be a number Parasite and his abusive culture was instrumental in loosing so much of funds from then ministry of finance remember ?

I can add lot more to this – when returning from LONDON tomorrow, if my time would permit .. okay…

Please take good care of you, sleep enough and drink enough water. I have the feeling you tirelessly work on your comments almost everyday. That is really good to us CT readers, but you also need to think about your health as early heptagenarian.

To tell you, this is an another heated weekend for me, just after reading about the unethical appointments being again given their men within their circles,, I question why on earth people nevertheless support them ? Shameless “once upon high criminals that are now held as pepole’s heroes” would do anything, their supporters do nothing but behave as dogs barking while caravan moves forwad. That is typcial to lanken culture. They the people dont care about anything today. They dont even raise the question why the daily needs and their price hikes , but be busy about the TAPEs of Ranjan Ramanayaka leaked to the Social media ?

Who to be blamed if not to the very same stupid people in masses.

People incl. my relatives in the fools# paradise to whom I may have gifted SMART phones lately, too, have become Rajapakshe supporters. I became so furious, but it is the trend within the country. Even criminals are used to say, ” Buduarnayi” while they continue their criminal activities in an routine manner. I can explain them loads of truths with provable figures, but changing their way thinking attitude is effortless. They the average down there would not respect truths but mostly “hearsays” and what two abusive TV channels (Derana TV and Hiru TV) spread within the country.

Like cadave is selfishly and forcefully grabed by king of the jungle- lions and other predators, not allowing any other creatures to even close to it, lanken politics is being controlled by muscle (rascals and thugs ) not by brain today than any time in the past.

Yes now the CADAVE is mainly controlled by Rajapakshe looters again.

Day before yesterday, I was very much angered by watching some Rajakashe criminal supporters not having invited former President CBK in the commemoration ceremony held in colombo but CBK had herself arrived in there with her elder sister and knelt down before the statue as usual and added her sad thoughts to the press about not being invited to the ceremony.

They SLFPrs take good advantages of Bandaranayakes but not respecting his family and offsprings. How come SLFP to fall that grotesque, in the country today ?

An another Zimbabwian styleMUGABE govt Episode 2 is in making. Get ready to face it. Trade sactions to the style to Iran can come on us in the days to come. No EU and US would ever support Rajakashe rascal politics

Wake up people, at least 60 lacks that stood against the rascals should work hard even more by improving the awareness of the average.

Most dont care about the facts about Rajakashes. They just see otherway around when truths being spread on them. According to them for no reasons Rajakshes were called for court investigations.

Even if PRIMA FACIE evidence revealed and reported in media regarding the state FUND abuses made by Gotabaya in the build of MONUMENT to commemorate their deseased parents- whole lot of VOTERs from southern areas, never took it to heart.

People s awareness is being abused by Rajakshes on and on. They are very concerned about the NEWs items, any BLANT lies in favour of them would be put to air through their biased TV channels on and on.
        :
I question, why NO YET prevailing laws CONTROL these two channels. If they dont have appropriate provisions in prevailing laws to control them, why law makers in Opoosition then and today stay further silent ?

I dont think if any TV channel in UK would abuse their media freedom regarding late Princess Diana’s Harry not respecting Queen elibsabath family traditionAs is the case in CURRENT day srilanka, LEGAL authorities to let any TV channels to spread blatant lies but in favour of vicious politics – no means possible in Germany for example. Why our oppostion leaders dont make effort to bring reforms to control lanken media channels, within internationally held norms ?

        .
Those people in Wellawaya and Buttala seem to live in yet unspoilt areas. Why isn’t that being stressed? What effort is being made to ensure that they are able to earn themselves a better living?

Thank you and I really admire your comments.

I truly believe that most of them are an another network that abuse pvt funds being offered to them by expatriate srilankaens. I also donate regularly to some schools, but I will check them closely next time on.

So call TV channels mushroom in the country today. I know not only at Wellawaya and Buttala, but there are whole lot of people in Anuradhapura and southern areas live under poverty. Most of them are not accessed to any means of income. I wonder what the govts did to them sofar. Why not these people are kept away from SAMURDHI ?
          .
I myself cant add my thoughts to them now, because GOOGLE has blocked my account for some reasons. I believe that Iraj weeraratne, an another key asskisser of Rajakashe clan, may have complained to GOOGLE:

As you know the donators in general cant know all the bits about the Channels because they just make their transfers being out of the country.

It is called the Prostration Effect. Many millions are affected by it, the cause, the attachment to the monks and the Rajapaksa Tribe.

That is just this partcular Pascal should have been sitting on his little brain.

He or she or the eunach does not seem to know the basics about the monks. The kind of stupid men or women let any wrapped around man or men to be regarded as BUDDHIST monk in today s context.

As I read somewhere, stray dogs would treat you with non-stop of waging her tail if you would please concentrate on them rather than bringing free food to MODERN day GAY crminals.
I am not against innocient LGBT community but Hamuduruwos showing something and doing other way around hurt me that much.
I ll bett you if you interview 100 child monks, they would reaveal what harrasements that they should go through at nights in SRILANKEN temples across the country. If Saudi arabian style SHARIA law would have been implemented, many of the senior monks would have to be subjected to castration on the spot. If they cant control over their hormones why to continue as pingutharayas further ?

        Amarasiri,
Native Sinhalayo and Vedda Eththo will decide what is good for the country. Sinhalayo will not allow ‘Para’ Malabar Wellala politicians and ‘Para’ Muslim politicians to play hell in the Land of Sinhalayo and Vedda Eththo.

          Eagle Confused Eye,

The Native Veddah Aethho belong to the Native Veddah Aethho Tribe, and the later arrivals, the Paras, the Para-Sinhala, Para-Tamils etc. belong to the Para/ Tribes, confirmed by mitochondrial DNA Haplo group genetics.

Remember, the Paras now have 46 chromosomes, down from 48 when they lost their tails by evolution.

Present the data to the Indian/ Bharat Prime Minister, Hon. Modi, and ask if a new State in Southern- Eastern India be created to accommodate the home coming of the long-lost Para cousins.

Referring to Thilak Weerasinghe as a beach boy smacks of class envy. Here s a man who has worked his way up, by working hard and honestly. Please have some decency

This is not the first director position he has held, The Tour Operations Assn nominated him to SL Tourism as their representative in during last regime. He may not bring Aviation to the board but he will represent a the inbound tourism industry who are stakeholders of all airports

I have added my comments to that of Thilak WEERASINGHE, who is believed to be a great great ass kisser of Rajaakshe family. If they would be given the chance, they would not leave any droppings of the family, I have no idea why people fall that obsequeous to the rascals ?

These men may have some good experiences collected over the years as is the case with our so called SELF PROCLAIMED political scientists aka analyst -Dr Dayana Jayathilaka. But none of these men obvisouly know nothing but their pocket filling tactics. However, DJ has a very unique nature which only fits to him. He waited last over 3 years until he got finally posted to Russia. How many times he had gone after SORISENA for that was reported then. Now the bugger is between UNP and SLPP, because his favourite SP is the opposition leader in current parliament.

The Problem is why every President (OR PM) appoints friends to the airport and to the air lines. The second question is are there not any other unemployed VIYATHUN suitable for the job. It looks again Mahinda Rajapakse is in the Saddle. Who Published thus. UNP working committee ?
Ranjan Affair Proved that all 225 in the Parliament are disgusting in their actions. Ranajan is just one. Others should be the same.
It is simple, Frauds, corruption in short, Revenge hatred filled place, But the Bill always go to the poor voter.

These positions cannot be filled by the average individual or anyone who is a businessman/woman. They require aviation regulatory knowledge, aviation laws and serious managerial skills. We cannot expect either any of these 3 individuals to complete a satisfactory job. Again, we have made the same mistakes as voters repeatedly.

      Maharage,

“Nearly 7 million Sinhala Buddhists are screwed. !!!!”

From the time the Paras accepted Para-“Buddhism” ‘ with the Triple Gem and Monk Hegemony, they were screwed. (The first 6 kings escaped this) . The Sinhala Buddhists are prostrating to the monks, for monk hegemony, and they still do not know that the have been screwed, by the illusion of Nibbana and Nirvana.

Their current mean IQ, estimated from measured data is 78. There is a hypothesis floating around that prostration to monks decreases critical thinking and reasoning abilities, leading to decreasing IQ’s.

Has Mangalam and Gonja given you a contract to support what they have been telling before the Presidential election about Buddhist monks, Sinhala Buddhists and the Triple Gems?
They probably thought Sinhala Buddhist voters will buy their humbug but that backfired because Sinhala Buddhists are not imbeciles. Sinhala Buddhists who are a smart lot gave the right reply to these vermin politicians of Unpatriotic National Party. NGO suckers are upset about that.

Nepotism has been a curse in Sri Lanka for a while now and was rife especially during MR’s time in office; now with SLPP back in the saddle after a brief interlude, it will not go away anytime sooner. This whole thing of appointing only those qualified to run State owned enterprises, was aimed at those dumb SLPP voter base to make them believe that things will be different this time round. Going by these appointments so early in GR-MR tenure, Sri Lanka could possibly be revisiting the pre 2015 period all over again! Let’s hope that the days ahead do not transpire that way, but optimism in this paradise isle is something that is a hard to come by!!

    • 17
      1

Nepotism has never been so rampant as when the Rajapaksa’s were reigning the last time. Unqualified uncles and aunts given lucrative posts, ripping off tax payers, enjoying the perks, taking planeloads of other relatives to shop and feast, and acting entitled. Every remember the crook uncle Jaliya, an unqualified, inexperienced clown, who represented us in the US, and was caught with his hand in the cookie jar? More of that in store for jolly old Sri Lanka.
But don’t worry folks, the streets will be clean.

    What a Scandal…..This !!.

I thought Dr Rani conspiring on Gonja APP to kill Mahindananda would be the one.Never mind.

just listened to the latest release where the UNP Minister Mr Ranajan Ramanayaka asking a Lady in Colombo to come over for a Quickie.
And she says ” Give me 40 Minutes , I have to have a Wash” .
Them the Minster says something which I can;t mention .

Anyway General Chandrasiri is a top bloke who protected Jaffa against all odds.
I am sure he will do the same to for Srilankan.

All appointments to public jobs are now vetted by the Viyathmaga Selection Committee.
I am sure they are all good people like the General Goonaratana.

BTW , the UNP Senior , Minister Kiriella had not just 2 but 40 of his immediate Family on the Staff just in his Ministry jobs.
Those included even his Daughters and Sons in Law.

But it was all good with our Yahapalana supporters.
Wonder what made this so irritable?..

Then JR Thambi Mudali (he was not a Jayawardena) had his mates Choksi, Gnanam and other Indian Farsi, Borah and Thambi mates. Chandrika introduced her BIL’s friend Eric Solheim to manage the war. Where does one end?

These people , if they are respectable and established people, also have a duty to not accept such appointments.

I suppose for the new rich social climbers ,government appointments, as these are perks without responsibility, are difficult to resist. They get vehicles, drivers , phones and bribes from private sector wanting favours.

When things go wrong or they don’t deliver these political appointees simply go back to their original jobs and the tax payers have spend to repair the damage.

      Mallaiyuran,
We will deport ‘Para’ Demalu who voted to ‘Pad Man’ to their ‘Traditional Homeland’ across the Palk Strait on the instructions of ‘Para’ Wellala politicians who thought that if ‘Pad Man’ comes to power they will be able to make him dance according to their whims and fancies and get a new constitution with Federal System. These ‘Para’ Demalu are not welcomed in Sinhale.

      • 0
        0

If call Tamil ” Para’ Demalu ” It directly hurt .Rajapackses. First Rajapakses are multi racial and religious family. They have Tamil brothers in laws. Rajapkses ‘ original family root is Chinese Mongolians brought to Sri lanka. by Portuguese or Dutch and later supported by British. And look at other leaders in Sri lanka, they all have Tamil relatives behind them and they are related to Malays who brought to Sri lanka by British to kill Sinhalese Buddhists.

I admire your patriotism, but if you are true patriot, get rid of these foreigners who took Sinhalese names during colonial period. Srilanka has nearly or over 18 million Sinhalese Buddhists to chooses from and establish a genuine Sinhalese Buddhists government. Why you have to up with fake pride.

Tamil Tigers in the Western countries are laughing at Sinhalese because they are know to the World as Modayas. For example, Sinhalese don’t know in a few years Tamil automatically can increase hair population and can get control over Sri lanka by coming behind families like Rajapackses.
Tamil Tigers’ goal is destroying Sinhalese Buddhists identity. It is discussed all over Europe and North America by Tigers’ Western supporters . So, Rajapakses are foundation for that.
It is also, backed by Sinhalese spies who have been secretly promoting Rajapackses and now openly switched from RW to Rajapackses. Before election, They were playing trick on Sinhalese Modayas and speared as strong anti Rajapakses. It was huge trick they played to bribe Sinhalese Mondays to be sympathetic to Rajapackses and make them win

During 2005 and 2015 period all family members took control of 75% of the national wealth and another 25% was shared between almost 100 ministers who were ready to raise their hands whatever the family did. From 2012, the nations economy started to fall and people became poor and still the country could not come back but every one associated with Mahinda family became the richest. It’s very unfortunate that this article is trying to show Thilak in a poor light. I have absolutely no doubdt that Thilak’s appointment to the board of AASL is the most appropriate. LSR is the third-largest inbound travel company in Sri Lanka, but also the undisputed No 1 travel company specializing in adventure sports. He has been instrumental in putting Sri Lanka in the sports tourism map by bringing international events in Surfing, Cycling, Running (Colombo Marathon) and white water rafting. LSR is also the Srilankan Airlines appointed agent to handle all the transit passengers since year 2004, and was appointed when Emirates was managing Srilankan Airlines and has handled this ever since. There is no doubt that Bandaranaike International Airport needs a major overhaul and capacity enhancement to handle future growth in tourism. There is no better person than Thilak who has a better knowledge of both these areas to have been appointed to the Board of AASL.

I have worked with Thilak closely for over 18 years on tourism promotions and know him as a humble, accommodating yet visionary and determined person who loves Sri Lanka and worked tirelessly to uplift the tourism industry in Sri Lanka during the darkest years of our country. I wish to congratulate Thilak on his appointment and I have no doubt that he will show his mettle in helping transform the Colombo Airport to what it should be, in the near future.

Wow Mohan so nice to see you making a noise in this regard.
If Thilak has all these credentials he should be in the Ministry of Tourism instead of AASL.
A classic case of a square peg in a round hole.
Whilst your at it would you also please tell us how you ended up being posted to Singapore as the Sri Lankan Airlines Country Manager ?
Perhaps we may have to seek that answer from the former Chairman Nishantha Wickrememasinghe if you are reluctant to say so.
As for Diedre de Livera’s appointment, have you got anything to say about that or are you happy that she and her family can also enjoy all the perks that come with the post. Absolutely no credentials to hold any post as a Director AASL?

*Sigh* at this rate the general public will have to put up with truck loads of trials and errors from these so called “L – board CEOs and Chairmans”.. so i suppose “Learning things on the job” was the system change that Gota was referring to on he’s campaign trail..

Gota has stopped all State OTs. Hope he also prevents Chandrasiri receiving Pay &Pension.

The slave mentality of frogs stuck in a deep well is predictable. They do the same thing over and over but expect a different result.

Once again, it is a great opportunity for a known bunch of thieves to not only quietly rob the country, but also to ensure that the frogs stay firmly stuck in the well, forever.

I was quite surprised to see the unfair accusation leveled against a respected lady and a gentleman, based on their relationship to Rajapaksha’s. from the outset what these hate articles suggest “if you are friends or relatives of Rajapaksha’s; Wickramasinghe’s or any other politician they should not hold any public office ???” its not only absurd but creates a wrong perception of our country whereas even in the USA (Trump or Bush) it’s the close friends and family that holds vital positions of a regime and it’s their ability to perform in that job role that matters nothing else. His knowledge on the workings of inside ‘mafia’ of the airport and aviation would have made few people nervous, and I hope he will step in to correct those.
Thilak whom I know personally, hence this long article. He established his organization in 1982 after having qualified as a certified trainer in Switzerland and Austria. He is not a beachboy but he gave wind surfing lessons on the beach ! Lanka Sports Rizen is the only water sports specialized tour operator in this country. Not only that he sponsored almost all annual international events, Colombo Marathon for 18 years, Surfing events in Hikkaduwa and in Arugambay from 2001, International Mountain Biking Events from 2016 – he initiated these at the time of separatist war, Tsunami etc; just to put Sri Lanka in the International map and promote tourism. For him who was in power didn’t matter the intention was to commit his own resources and to promote the country. I can tell you he is the only person who did so at that scale. LSR also has many PADI certified diving schools from the east to the south.

We know how they keep OXFORD educated GLP under them as house arrest. These men though got their qualifications at prestigious unis, would never have guts to work free. That has lot do with srilanken abusive mentality.
If the neighbour would lick the balls of an idiot, no doubt, without hesitations, you too join the line to go for it.
