Shedding light into the sorry state of national security that prevailed in the country with Sirisena at the helm, National Intelligence Chief, retired DIG Sisira Mendis says the last National Security Council meeting held before Easter Attacks was on February 19,2019.

Mendis made this statement today with regard to a question directed to him by MP Sarath Fonseka, on when the last NSC was held, during the inaugural session of the Parliamentary Select Committee proceedings to probe Easter attacks.
Interestingly, as Mendis approached this point, the live feed telecasted by the Parliament on the Committee sittings were abruptly cut off. Colombo Telegraph learns this was a result of an order issued by Sirisena. Excerpts of the sittings were however telecasted in evening TV news bulletins.
