Necessity To Neutralize The Islamic Terrorism And Sri Lanka’s U-Turn

By Ayathuray Rajasingam

Today the Islamic Terrorist Organizations are a threat and challenges the stabilization of democracies. The fund spent by the terrorist organization are mainly from the proceeds of the sale of narcotics. The ultimate goal of Islamic terrorists is to establish Sharia Law and throw a challenge to democracy all over the world. Nevertheless peace could not be found in Afghanistan, Saudi, Somalia and Yemen where 100 % of the population are Muslims. Radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims for various reasons.

The deplorable condition in Islamic countries saw a large number of law-abiding Muslims seeking refuge in Western countries, where they had adapted themselves to Western democratic ideologies having recognized the principles of equality, while retaining their cultural practices. They co-existed with other communities peacefully. However, the recent development of the establishment of ‘no-go-zones’, colonized by Muslims in Europe and other countries that practises pluralism sends the message that some undesirable elements promoting violence have crept in, which saw the September 11 attack on the Twin Tower, bombings at the London Subway, Mumbai, chopping of an innocent soldier in UK, derailing activities in democratic countries and recently the deaths of Canadian soldier Nathan Cirillio and Warrant Officer Patricia Vincent had again sent a message that savage ideology stimulates terrorism. As the war with the terrorists is a battle between the visible and invisible, one ponders whether these ‘no-go-zones’ are a breeding ground for the operation of these Islamic terrorists.

MuslimOne of the purposes of the United Nations is ‘to achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural or humanitarian character and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion’ as specified in Article 1 (3). This provision is further strengthened by the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights by which there is an obligation for all governments to investigate and punish non-governmental acts of violence or discrimination that interfere with the freedom to embrace one’s faith or religion which is assured. The magnitude of threat by the Islamic Terrorist Organizations demonstrate that they have failed to realize or deliberately ignoring that the universal freedom of thought, conscience and religion is established as part and parcel of the customary international human rights law.

Upon an examination of the provisions of the UN Charter and the Declaration of Human Rights it is clear that terrorism has no place for transgressing on one’s civil liberties.

Yet the growth of Wahabbism and the birth of the Islamic Terrorist Organizations with their savage ideologies pose a challenge to the democratic principle of equality. Terrorism has the force of dividing the society arising from the creation of mistrust because it had taken many innocent lives. These Islamic Terrorist Organizations had spread their wings to all Muslim countries and third world non-Muslim countries, and have also begun to knock the doors of the Western democratic countries. However, the US, UK, and Israel stood as a checkmate in preventing the continued persecution of non-Muslims by the Islamic terrorists.

The problem with the Islamic terrorists is that they fail to realize that religion is a personal matter and that it should not interfere with one’s civil liberties. The disturbing factor is found in Quran (Sutra, Verse 33) which states that it is the duty of every Muslim to fight those of a different belief until only Allah is worshipped around the world. Have these Islamic extremists ever realized that all religions are like a variety of flowers in a garden called earth. It appears that the strategy of the Islamic extremists is to keep the Muslims not to interpret or allowed to translate from Arabic and that the call for fighting and killing is Allah’s words. When spreading fear and horror and killing innocents, their version is that they are following Allah’s words without a clear interpretation. If the interpretation conveys the meaning that the call for ‘holy war’ denotes love which has no bound, then it will conquer all hearts (instead by the sword), then Islam becomes a religion of peace and will be applauded. The words ‘holy’, ‘peace’ and ‘love’ are inter-related, but not with the word ‘war’ which has a tendency to promote hatred. Hence in the absence of a meaningful interpretation of the rigid principle enunciated in the Quran, the Muslim extremists become themselves instrumental for Islam’s reluctance to compromise or co-exist with other faiths. Thus they become self-alienated and engage in activities that are suspected to be Islamic related terrorism. All religions preach that the taste of life is love. In the absence of a meaningful interpretation, the uncivilized and cowardly behaviour of the Islamic Terrorist Organizations signals whether Islam is a religion of peace or conquest when extremists are bent to impose their ideology.

The basic tenets of Islam and culture are a threat to political, personal and religious freedoms and from the inception itself children are brainwashed and never allowed to re-think. If they convert to other faiths they are threatened with death which amounts to transgression of an individual’s personal freedom. Transgressing on an individual’s right with threat to life amount to savage ideology. It is the transgressing on the rights of others by the Islamic terrorists that is likely to place some Muslim countries on the brink of a new war with the democratic countries.

Everyone has a right to live on this earth created by God with the absolute freedom to embrace their faith of their own choice. God never discriminated people as to who should live and not live on this earth. What is essential is co-existence. Civil liberties are the live-wire of democracy. It is unfortunate that Islamic extremists hate democracy and insist on theocracy which is a form of government where a country is ruled by a group of people who are believed to be guided by God like in Iran, where a ruling body on religious basis is implied. Theocracy is not a form of government where the governing body is chosen by the people through a free and fair election. In democracy people are free to express their views whereas in theocracy people fear to express their views because it is backed by its military wing. Principles of natural justice has no place in theocracy and justice cannot be expected in theocracy. Denial of justice to the housemaid Rizana was a case in point. Inequalities is given prominence in theocracy between men and women and even between Muslims and non-Muslims. Theocracy is in direct conflict with the constitutions of democratic countries.

Terrorists failed to realize that uncivilized acts of bombings at schools, markets, bus stands, beheading, stoning to death, etc which are a daily occurrence in some Muslim countries, are savage ideologies that overshadows the good aspects of a religion. Their language appears to be destruction. The Islamic terrorists should act in a manner towards some contributions like the Jews that are beneficial to humanity. Extremists forget that they are living in a changing world and their ideologies amount to fanaticism and a threat to democracy. Religion never teaches people to love death and teach hatred. The fear is whether third world non-Muslim countries would be targeted by these ideologies. The third world countries have been silenced by raising the cries of ‘racism’, Islamphobe’, ‘bigotry’, etc so as to facilitate the terrorists to continue with their barbaric acts unchecked. This is not hate propaganda but the truth, in good faith and for the benefit of mankind. In a way Islam has been hijacked by the Islamic extremists as some writers maintain. This has become an unfinished symphony to counter Islamic terrorism.

It has been a practice that Muslims demand for their religious privileges in democratic countries which practices tolerance and diversities. One of the demands is Halal as a result Muslims are given employment – an indirect way of gaining employment for Muslims in addition to the social benefits received by them from the western democratic countries. In the same breath, it becomes vital for broad-minded Muslims to address their mind whether there is any justification in the persecution of Christians in Muslim countries practising theocracy.

The impact of Wahabbism saw the rise of Muslim fundamentalism with the formation of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress. Kattankudy and Beruwela was seen as homes as well as their hub for its activities. It was a mere opportunity for Whabbism to firmly root itself in Sri Lanka during Chandrika Kumaratunge’s regime. Moreover, the arrest of Potta Nauffer, who shot dead a Colombo High Court Judge for refusing to grant bail in connection with illegal trafficking of heroin, raises suspicion whether the Islamic Terrorists Organizations has spread their wings to Sri Lanka. His activities in illegal trafficking of heroin when a Muslim Minister was holding an important portfolio, compels ordinary citizens to view with suspicion whether a clandestine terrorist organization was being funded through the proceeds of narcotic’s sale. Similarly, when Muslim clerics were applauding Bin Laden for attacking the Twin Tower in mosques after the prayers in Colombo, none of the Muslims dared to condemn his cowardly act where more than 3000 were killed or repeat such exercise in Western democratic countries, also raises suspicion whether it was the after effects of spreading its wings to third world countries.

Apparently Sri Lanka blundered itself when Sri Lankan President stretched a friendly arm to Libya’s Gadaffi, having known his contribution towards terrorism, are incidents of encouragement to Islamic Terrorist Organizations to spread their wings. They spread their wings to third world non-Muslim countries in a systematic and calculated manner with the view to show their hatred towards the Western democratic countries through third world countries. The blind tactics of the Islamic terrorists eventually ended up with the Muslims as refugees in Myanmar and Thailand. However, Sri Lanka did a U-turn when the BBS launched a protest against the Muslims and the Rule of Law has become a questionable issue, all of which point to the clumsy handling of Islamic terrorism.

What is surprising is, most of the young Muslims are driven into the Islamic Terrorist Organizations after being attracted by pleas for a caliphate and are heading for Syria to join with the ISIS as they feel they are under a religious obligation. They are under the impression that the creation of a Caliphate would accomplish their dream. This led to the suspicion whether the young Muslim girls are been misused by these Terrorist Organizations to achieve their evil motive, the facts of which are been demonstrated by statements from Muslims who have escaped. If Muslims are really keen on righteousness and adapt themselves to democratic ideologies in terms of the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Charter, they should stage protests against the calls of Islamic extremists and give prominence for co-existence with others. The silence maintained by Muslims in other countries including Sri Lanka, raises suspicion whether it is the result of spreading the wings of Islamic Terrorist Organizations. Muslim extremists must re-consider that they cannot be a self-alienated race anymore and begin to realize that  each individual is unique and recognizing other’s differences along the dimensions of race, religious and cultural beliefs, political ideologies, etc, and moving beyond tolerance, if they are to co-exist with others.

All religious founders have taught and practised non-violence. As all souls emanate from the Supreme Soul known as God, no individual has the right to take another individual’s life. It is God who has the right to take an individual’s life when such individual engages in unrighteousness. God is merciful. Ideologies of every faith should focus on human values. A specific ideology should not stand in the way of an individual’s right. This is the underlying principle of every religion. Without knowing the nature of God and the concept of righteousness, beliefs of Islamic terrorists that acts of violence are ordained by God and that martyrdom is the course of struggle against infidel leads to paradise are misleading. If however, the Islamic Terrorist Organizations continue to engage in acts amounting to unrighteousness, then it is certain that these Terrorist Organizations will be instrumental for the Third World War., like the First World War being ignited by the assassination of Prince Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie at Sarojevo.

What dross? Does the Colombo Telegraph — or anyone – really need to publish this rubbish? Please. There is room for considered, rational, and fact-based critiques of Islam and political Islamism, but this is just useless.

RE: Necessity To Neutralize The Islamic Terrorism And Sri Lanka’s U-Turn

This problem has to confronted intellectually, using the Quran and Hadith, from Islamic Scriptures.

Now Remember, the core-of this Jihardist problem started with Ibn Taymiah in the 12th century ( after Islamic science and civilization peaked), and was picked up bu Abdul Wahhab in the 18th Century. Hence the Umbrella Term Wahhabism for All the Jihadists and their clones, such as ISIS, ISIL, Al Queda, Al Nusra, Taliban, Deobandi, Boko Haram, Salafi, Tawheed etc.

read about Al Kindi, Avcinna, Ghazali, Avorres and many others who were Islamic Philosophers and Scientists, who had none of the problems of the Wahhabis and Joihadists.

The challenge should be intellectual. Examples are

      1. Martin Luther and the 95 Theses.

      2. Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Newton and Foucault on the Heliocentric Planetary Model.

For example take up the Idolatry of the Muslims do on a Rock, when other do it on Statues. 360 Statues replaced by a rock.

    Ayathurai,

There are more pressing issues for the average Sri Lankan than to immerse in international affairs. There are more powerful forces that manipulate the inherant traditional tribalism in the Islamic states for their own nefarious purposes. Just read behind the mass media hysteria about Islamic terrorism.

Spend a bit more effor on our issues Aya. We have state terrorism gripping our little nation and not only the Tamils and Muslims who get a beating but ultimately the Sinhala Buddhists as well. You will do a better service if all CT readers by finding solutions to our more pressing issues.

I think the writer has pointed out how the Muslims and MR are going to do a U-turn at the coming Presidential election. A good analysis on the impact of Islamic terrorism. It is an eye opener. I like the interpretation of those words ‘holy’, ‘peace’ and ‘love’ against hatred. Co-existence is essential.

Mr. Ayathuray Rajasingham needs to be congratulated for coming out boldly to call a spade a spade in these confused times when paid otherwise mercenaries, even in these pages, make vain attempts to make black into white by various dubious methods quoting chapter and verse of various authors singing the same tune. We have seen these hired assassins writing feature articles and making comments in these pages so very regularly praising the virtues of Islam and its inevitable victory SOON. Like in the case of Maldives, Malaysia and Indonesia – which were non-Muslim earlier – once a country gets caught to the trap it has no hope thereafter.

The evil features of Islam, widely known as the religion of blood, the sword and revenge – are under attack in all non-Muslim countries in the world that value tolerance, peace, compassion and liberalism.

But this certainly is not to say all Muslims everywhere are bad. In Sri Lanka we have had earlier – and indeed presently – peaceful Muslims of the older generation who do not engage in this hate, convert and kill tradition currently making the news. But their voices are forced down by the extremist radicals that have emerged from various Madrassas locally and from Arab lands in recent times. It is the jihadists and the extremists, clearly small minorities even in their own societies, who spell out all this provocative and toxic credo to destroy all those religious traditions who do not believe in their ‘Allah’ This also includes Muslims themselves who do not subscribe to their way of thinking e.g. the Ahmadis, the Shiites and so on. Wahabism, Salafism, Jihadists, Al Qaeda, the Taliban and now the hated ISIS are now under attack in many countries. Hopefully, the world will be rid of this cancerous scourge soon.

Mr. Rajasingham has to be careful because there are mislead Islamic youth amongst us ready to kill and harm those who disagree with them. The fate of those who write against them, like Mr. Rajasingham and some of us, is under danger. There are powerful sources from abroad, part of global Islam, under instructions to strike down anyone speaking against them. What happened to Dr. Subramaniam Swamy, who was only educating the world of the negatives of violent Islam, in a Video made in a Harvard U speech is a clear case of this well formed conspiracy worldwide.

      https://www.questia.com/library/journal/1P3-2018704731/the-comparison-of-mean-iq-in-muslim-and-non-muslim

      Article excerpt

The present research found that the Muslim country mean IQ of 81 is half a standard deviation below the mean IQ of non-Muslim nations and is not related to strength of Muslim culture as defined by the percentage of Muslims in the country. The mean IQ of 84 in Arab countries is not associated with per capita income and is incompatible with the intellectual achievements of the golden age of the Muslim Empire. Possible explanations for this decline include hybridization with sub-Saharan Africans, dysgenic decrease in the more educated Muslims employing birth control as suggested by Meisenberg, the Muslim religion not fostering critical thinking, and the intellectual contributions being both exaggerated and made by non-Muslims.

      1. Introduction

The purpose of the present study was to compare the mean IQs of Muslim and non-Muslim countries. The great intellectual achievements of the Muslim Empire from the 7th to the 12th century have been written about by numerous authors (e.g., Bloom & Blair, 2000; Lyons, 2009; Masood, 2009). These achievements have been especially noted in science, mathematics, architecture and medicine. However, the contemporary Muslim world is underrepresentated in highly creative contributions published in prestigious scientific journals. Lynn (1991) presented the total number of Nobel Prizes in science, literature, and economics combined with the Fields award in mathematics as a function of five major categories of ethnic origin. Europeans had a total of 541, North East Asians 23, South Asians and North Africans combined 10, Africans one (in literature), and Southeast Asians none. It is apparent that the predominantly Muslim countries are in the bottom three categories. Such a dearth of superlative scholarly achievement is consistent with the Lynn & Vanhanen (2006) Table 6.5 listing of mean IQs of the world’s countries. Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country, has a mean IQ of 87. If the standard deviation in Indonesia is 15, two standard deviations above the mean is only 117, which probably is not a high enough IQ to obtain a Ph.D. in physics from prestigious universities in high mean IQ countries. Even if mean IQ differences between two countries are modest, the disparity of extremely gifted persons can be huge.

The IQs of the Muslim populations in non-Muslim countries tend to be lower than those of the majority population (Lynn, 2008a). In the Netherlands, the mean IQ of Turks is 83, of Moroccans 81, and Indonesians 94 (Lynn, 2008a). Mackintosh (2007) reported that in the United Kingdom Pakistanis score 4 to 6 IQ points below the Indians. It is unlikely that this can be attributed entirely to minority status. The Chinese are a minority in many countries of the world and yet obtain higher mean IQs than the majority populations. They generate and/or control over half the wealth in Southeast Asian countries. In Indonesia the Chinese constitute 3.8 % of the population and generate/control 73% of the wealth. In Malaysia they constitute 28% of the population and generate/control 69% of the wealth (Lynn, 2008a). Caution should be employed because of the possibility of selective migration.

Special attention is given here to the Arab countries for two reasons. One is to examine the role of the great variation in per capita income. At the high end are Kuwait with $25,314, Qatar with $20,987, and the United Arab Emirates with $20,585. At the low end areYemen with $2,588 and Syria with $2,892. The second reason is to raise for consideration an incongruity between the achievements of the past and the state of the present. The Muslim Empire began in the Arabian Peninsula and the Arabs played a dominant role in its expansion and rise to greatness. Islam did not become established until the 15th century in Indonesia and in what is now Pakistan. The 16 countries regarded as Arab are Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. …

This ia problem in sri lanka (20%) and india (26%) related marriages, that lowers I Q and makes children susceptible.. Avvsai Matsinna..

      GRAVE FACT:
The practice of marrying close relatives, even first cousins and often sisters – was sanctioned by Muhammad himself, and has been their practice for 50 generations (over 1,400 years) in the Muslim world.

Becasue of the large Islamic Immigrant population in Denmark, a Danish Doctor is perhaps the first westerner who has researched this little-known problem in the Muslim world and published the disastrous consequences of Muslim inbreeding.

The massive inbreeding in Muslim culture seems to have done virtually irreversible damage to the Muslim gene pool, including extensive damage to its intelligence, sanity, and health.

      GRAVE FACTS:
The doctor reveals, approximately half of all Muslims in the world are inbred.

      > In Pakistan, the numbers approach 70%.

      > Even in England, more than half of Pakistani immigrants are married to their first cousins, and

      > in Denmark the number of inbred Pakistani immigrants is around 40%.

      > It is about 67% in Saudi Arabia,

      > 64% in Jordan and Kuwait,

      > 63% in Sudan,

      > 60% in Iraq,

I don’t recall Muslims being involved in committing the most heinous crime of killing 6 million Jews. The first and second world wars took the lives of approximately 70 million people- were the Muslims involved in this? What about the countless inquisitions, incursions and invasions perpetrated by Christendom that virtually decimated the Muslim population? What about the terrorist state of Israel that unleashes the most potent killing machine ever? These were all acts of terrorism that took the lives of the innocent. Is the writer fit to live in normal society or a nefarious agent? I think age is having negative impact on his memory. Terrorism is not the exclusive preserve of the Muslims or any other people. Every generation had its terrorists. The first few Prime Ministers of the rouge state of Israel were terrorists, even the current one is a terrorist so what is this fool talking about?

The Islamic global terror outfit is trying – 24x7x365 – to get hold of
Nuclear weapons to supplement their other arsenal of terror to conquer and Islamise the world. It has failed so far, although the Pakistanis have a rudimentary Sunni Islamic bomb and the Iranians are dreaming of the Shiite Nuclear toy. Nuclear weapons in the hands of mad men, particularly those who mis-interprete religion for their own parochial gain, is like our story of the monkey grabbing the garland of flowers.
The world recalls what Saddam’s Iraq and the Ayatollah’s Iran – both “peaceful” Islamic States, by the way, did to each other in recent times. They simply rained chemical horror on each other and finished disregarding all civilised and human norms finish off over a million on both sides. These ambitious world-conquerors for Islam totally disregarded what their mad action will do to civilians.

Global Islam would love to unleash nuclear horror in the rest of the non-Muslim “infidel” world – given half a chance. There is hardly any lack of effort on their part in reaching their fond objective. The Islamic world is praying for a modern Salahuddin of Crusades fame. Nasser, Arafat, Saddam, Gaddafi, Bin Laden and others tried to fill in the vacuum but did not quite succeed. There are many others in different parts of the world – starting from Afghanistan to Nigeria – trying.

It is time for the civilised and peaceful world to call a spade and spade now – before it is too late.

        Here is an interesting Article.

        http://plancksconstant.org/blog1/2010/03/muslim_iq.html

The Quran in the hands of idiots, morons and imbeciles is just like explosives in the hands of deranged monkeys. Because of its violence, intolerance, savagery and brutality, the Quran should not be read by those with limited intelligence. As Steve Sailer points out, much of France’s problems with Muslim rioters is because they are so stupid:

That is True for Sinhala and Tamil as well, with I.Q. of 79.

    Ayuruthai,

I think you wrote this article to obtain a citizenship in a western country or is holding one already and therefore licking your master’s feet..We would also like you to write articles on How ISrael has been terrorising palestinians for over half a century…How USA invaded Iraq without cause and now it is worse than it was under Saddam….Vietnam war and its US’s attrocities….Innocent people in Burma killed and burnt because they came in as refugees long before….Every country was a better place before USA or Israel started meddling with its affairs…Sri Lanka will be no different…War crimes innvestigation not relevant to Afghanisatan, Iraq and Palestine i guess….Middle east is a hot spot for terrorism is not because of Islam (the verses you quote are out of context and i suggest you read much more on how Islam dealt with non muslims peacefully and coexisted for centuries) It is because of OIL….if the middle eastern people followed any other religion whether hinduism / bhuddism or any other they would be still framed terrorists and the media would have had enough stories to make people believe its true…All because the super powers can justify the killing and take over of those lands to satisfy their lust for OIL WEALTH….SO WAKE UP AND SEE REALITY….

Time and time again this writer has tried to portray Islam and Muslims as being hostile and lacking cultural, moral and ethical values, for no justifiable reason but to show them in bad light. His idea of war against terrorism means war against Islam and its followers.

    The Misunderstood Islam

“Adopt my faith, or die!” That is the slogan of the fanatics. There is no such concept as democracy, freedom of ideas, love, respect, affection, friendship or altruism in fanaticism. People imagine that fanaticism, and its offshoot radicalism, can settle inside a true faith like Islam. Yet people fail to realize that fanaticism is itself a religion; there are representatives of the religion of fanaticism inside every idea. There are fanatical believers in Islam, in Judaism in Christianity, and in Buddhism and Hinduism, just as there are in Marxism, fascism and atheism. They all espouse the same faith; “I don’t like your ideas! Either go along with my ideas, or die!”

In recent times in particular, this fanaticism has largely wound up being equated with Islam. Indeed, certain groups call this religion of fanaticism Islam and they have turned their fears of fanaticism toward Islam, so much so that Islam, an Abrahamic faith, has come to stand for “fear.” Islamophobia is talked about all over the world. People are unaware that their fears stem, not from Islam, but from fanaticism. They fail to see the difference, and fail to realize that the fanatical faith produced by peddlers of superstition has appeared in the name of Islam; nobody has ever told them that this is not Islam. Neither the radicals who emerge in the name of Islam nor the Islamophobes who fear those radicals have been shown that Islam is not this fanatical, terrifying, loveless and hate-filled faith. The radicals of Islam have begun harming the entire world, but most of all Muslims themselves.

The phrase “moderate Islam” was born out of that need. As if there were such things as a savage Islam on one hand and a moderate model of Islam on the other, Muslims opposed to the savagery of the radicals began being referred to as “moderate Muslims.” Voices opposed to Islam admired the advocates of moderate Islam, but regarded them as weak in the face of the radicals. They imagined that some peace-loving people were trying to soften a savage religion (surely Islam is way above all of that). They even called this “reform in Islam,” and referred to the advocates of moderate Islam as “reformists.” However nobody has managed to show that this is not a reform, but is in fact the real and true Islam. Although the opponents of Islam admire the “reformists,” the false strength stemming from radical violence and the idea that they represent some form of Islam has become overwhelming. Peace-loving Muslims are not trying to soften, reform or moderate Islam. Our aim as peace loving Muslims is to try to eliminate a falsehood that has been propagated under the name of Islam for many years. It is to eliminate the radicalism, fanaticism and bigotry displayed for years under the name of Islam and to eradicate that nonsensical faith that has nothing to do with true Islam, and to describe the truth of Islam with evidence from the Qur’an. It is to put an end to the worst defamation of Islam being done by these fanatics.

Writers such as Auyathurai too try to come into prominence through their criticism of radicalism within Islam, and to the terrifying way of thinking of those fanatics. It reveals the sources of the false, fanatical religion which they are trying to make part of Islam, and even go to the extent of proving that invalidity of that religion with quotations taken out of context from the Qur’an. The particular reason for a needy response to these claims is that all the criticisms made of Islam take the same direction and to that reason, people confuse and muddle up the religion of radicalism with the true Islam.

The word Sharia means “path.” A Muslim can easily tell what “path” to follow by looking at the Qur’an. Few things are unlawful in the Qur’an, and these are made clear with explicit prohibitions. They are not open to discussion or interpretation. For example, killing, adultery, earning or living on interest money, eating pork or drinking blood are all unlawful actions revealed in verses of the Qur’an in definitive terms. This is one important characteristic of the Qur’an. People who aim to come up with prohibitions by interpreting verses in the light of their own desires always try to produce their deductions from them. Yet prohibitions are not open to interpretation.

He writes: ‘The disturbing factor is found in Quran (Sutra, Verse 33) which states that it is the duty of every Muslim to fight those of a different belief until only Allah is worshipped around the world.’ This is a misleading and a false statement. What do you mean by ‘Sutra’, as there are only Surahs and Ayaths, or in English referred to as Chapters and verses, no such thing as ‘Sutra’. Again, verse 33 of which Chapter? In any case, there has to be an underlying context for which this verse was revealed by Allah to our Prophet. It cannot be taken in isolation by itself as then there are many that are equally misleading.

There is no justification for war in Islam
Those who allege that Islam is a religion of war must realize that such a perspective is in fact diametrically opposed to the teachings of Islam. There is no justification for attacking the other side in the Qur’an. The Qur’an provides the very finest description of democracy and freedoms. It is impossible in a climate of democracy and freedom to denounce the other side as the enemy or to seek to silence it. That climate is one in which everyone is respected and everyone can speak freely and Islamic Sharia describes just that environment. Therefore, there is no justification for offensive warfare in the Qur’an.

We can examine this fact through the words of verses of the Qur’an:
Those who employ war, force or coercion to impose Islam on someone are betraying the Qur’an. One of the most explicit statements in the Qur’an is that “there is no compulsion in the religion”:
There is no compulsion where the religion is concerned…. (Surat al-Baqara, 2:256)

This is an explicit commandment of the Qur’an. No Muslim can disobey that command and force anyone else to be devout. That is expressly forbidden in the Qur’an.

Our Prophet (pbuh) is only an adviser. He has a responsibility to preach and introduce communities to Islam, the last revealed religion. At that time, some of those who heard about Islam from the mouth of our Prophet (pbuh) and other Muslims came to believe, while still some others did not. As explicitly required by the Qur’an, neither our Prophet (pbuh) nor the other Muslims with him ever resorted to compulsion. That is prohibited in the Qur’an. Our Prophet (pbuh) is reminded in the Qur’an; “So remind them! You are only a reminder. You cannot compel them [to believe].” (Surat al-Ghashiyya, 88:21-22) Compulsion is therefore absolutely forbidden.

According to the Qur’an, all Muslims have a duty to tell people of the moral values of Islam, but nobody can use compulsion and say, “You must become a Muslim” or “You must perform the religious observances.” The purpose of the Qur’an is to bring love and peace to the world and all of humanity. Such pressure is therefore incompatible with the Qur’an.

Other verses in which compulsion is prohibited read:

Say: “It is the truth from your Lord; so let whoever wishes have faith and whoever wishes be irreligious”… (Surat al-Kahf,18:29)

If your Lord had willed, all the people on the earth would have had faith. Do you think you can force people to be believers ? (Surah Yunus, 10:99)

We know best what they say. You are not a dictator over them. So remind, with the Qur’an, whoever fears My threat. (Surah Qaf,50:45)

Say: “Unbelievers! I do not worship what you worship and you do not worship what I worship. Nor will I worship what you worship nor will you worship what I worship. You have your religion and I have my religion.’ (Surat al-Kafirun, 109:1-6)

Since force and compulsion are prohibited in the Qur’an, there is no justification for war, aggression, enmity or anger. What things, apart from converting, would Muslims compel polytheistic communities to do? It is clear that it is unlawful for someone to be forced to convert. Therefore, according to the Islam in the Qur’an, imposing Islam can never be a pretext for war.

Is war permitted for ideological or ethnic superiority?
Islam respects all ideologies, all nations, all ethnic groups, all ideas and all faiths. Islam is a religion in which all ideas are listened to and that permits the maximum possible freedom of ideas. War due to any clash of ideas or ethnicity is of course impossible in a faith with such a conception of democracy.

War for the purpose of spreading the rules of Islam to be introduced by a Muslim leader?
As we have already seen in detail, according to the Qur’an, a Muslim leader must be someone who also embraces Christians, Jews, atheists, communists, agnostics, Buddhists and people who adhere to other beliefs and ideological systems in the community he leads. He must implement complete freedom of ideas. He must allow people complete liberty. Conflict, slander and hypocritical people appear where there are no freedoms. He must prevent that and do what the Qur’an requires. As stated in the verse “You who believe! Be upholders of justice, bearing witness for God alone, even against yourselves or your parents and relatives.” (Surat an-Nisa’,4:135) he has a responsibility to maintain justice without regard for individuals, beliefs or origins, even if that works against himself.

This Ayathuray Rajasingam, a respectable looking guy with the white hair (in the photograph) giving the false image of a moderate reasonable thinking individual, is in reality a Muslim hater; proven by his reliance on internationally castigated Muslim haters’ websites for his information, see his references appended at the end of his Article. The popular Amarasiri says politely “I suggest you read up a little bit more”. But the malaise is much deeper than ignorance. It is malice.

In a lighter vein, please refer to Ayathuray’s castigation of Halal – as a ruse to provide employment for Muslims. If this is not being blinded by hate, what is?

His purpose is to malign the Muslims of Sri Lanka, not of any other country. He cites the criminality of “Potta Nauffer”, a criminal convicted of murder, to insinuate that the Muslims of Sri Lanka belong to “Islamic Terrorists Organizations”.

I ask this bigot, how many Muslims of Sri Lanka, out of a population of two million, have been arrested, let alone convicted, for terrorism in Sri Lanka. Were it not his Tiger compatriots who were engaged in an international trade of lethal weapons and drugs to finance Ayathuray’s Eelam war?

Does he not know, that the Tigers’ partners in this sordid business were from the present government giving them protection and patronage – purely for financial gain?

Is this hypocrite suggesting anyone in the illegal arms and drugs trade, is in that business BECAUSE he is a Muslim, or Christian or Buddhist?

Does he not know that Gnanasara is screaming Aba Saranai just for the purpose of getting a few votes more for his benefactors in the Government, so that he will be able to travel in luxury within and outside of Sri Lanka, enjoy the best hotels, the best wines and the best cunts?

What has Islam, or for that matter, any other religion got to do with all of that?

The charitable verdict on you Ayathuray can only be that you are insane; more likely you are pure evil.

Colombo Telegraph has lost its standing among respectable right thinking people because it has given a platform for this scum to foist his filth. Please don’t give readers the shit about freedom of speech.

      Indra,
Do you mean to say Pottu Nauffer has no link with a prominent Muslim Minister. Cigarette & second-hand car business from Singapore and that too imported without payment of customs duty & transported through Modera side to Grandpass. Why then did Pottu Nauffer shot the Colombo High Court Judge? Do you know Pottu Nauffer was given a 5-star treatment inside the prison.
Do you know it is this prominent Minister who told the Police Inspector (when he went to arrest those three criminals)not to lay hand on his men and transferred him to Eastern Province?
Why the another Muslim Minister from Batticaloa was always having an eye on the US Embassy in Colombo from his Ministry.
      The list is long.
Writer is only concerned of the consequences of terrorism if it not checked. He intends that compliance with the UN Charter & the UN Declaration of Human Rights will bring better understanding.

        Dear Jeya

Thank you for asking your question. It appears you are seriously confused about the subject of terrorism. Potta Jauffer is a convicted criminal. Allah means nothing to him. He is /or was a psychopath bent on using criminal methods to amass wealth. If as you say he had the support of Ministers, this is what I meant when I said he had partners in the Government in his criminal (not terrorist) enterprise.

There is also another mix up you are suffering from: Carrying out illegal business transactions does not make you a terrorist. What about fraud, cheating, not honoring legal obligations, making counterfeit currency notes, or even killing your neighbor because she slept with your husband etc? Does anyone of these make you a terrorist?

The assertion of Ayathuray’s Article was that Muslims are terrorists because they are Muslim. I called Ayathuray evil for this reason. The hypocrite that he is he will deny he did not say all Muslims were terrorists. But the tone and tenor of his Ariticle and the references provided by him clearly indicate he is a Muslim hater.

Terrorism is a word so much in fashion today among the uneducated; like the clothes they sport exposing all save the genitals, the word terrorism is used without any idea what it means. The generally accepted meaning is “the unofficial or unauthorized use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.”

Certainly then Potta Naufer does not qualify as a terrorist. But in the context of brutalities orchestrated by officials of the Government of Sri Lanka, you are entitled to label Mahinda and Gotabaya Rapaksas as terrorists. They are not Muslim. And if they are considered terrorists, are they terrorists because they are Buddhist?

Hope my comments will help you understand better. The terrorists running the government are really exploiting your ignorance and ruining the country.

It will serve well as a citizen to remember that terrorism has nothing to do with religion – any religion.

      Indra,
Please do not spill the words without knowing the actual facts. Not only he has secured the release of many innocent youths (including Muslims), but also prevented some murders of prominent citizens and paid a nasty price. Those criminals are now languishing in jails. He has seen the consequences of terrorism including that of LTTE and is coming out with his experience.

        Dear Kum

The pseudonym you have chosen for yourself is rather symptomatic of your comment which needs to be cleansed! And, the “he” you are referring to is I suppose Ayathuray. Your comment is so addled I can respond only by using the “Amarasiri formula”:

        1. “Not only he has secured the release of many innocent youths (including Muslims),”.

Pray tell us Kum what those innocent youths were arrested for. Can you please give the names of some of the Muslim youth so arrested? If so what is the relevance in the context of this Article which deals with the perpetration of terrorist acts?

        2. “but also prevented some murders of prominent citizens and paid a nasty price”:

Can you provide the names of the prominent citizens he has saved from acts of terrorism?
And the nature of the “nasty price” he has paid? Is it an eye or a tooth or a part of his brain?
Can you name the person or persons who extracted from Ayathuray that “nasty price”?

        3. “Those criminals are now languishing in jails”:

Please name those criminals. Were there any Muslims among them? What were they accused of?

Until such time you answer these question, and they are reviewed, I deem that it is justifiable to call Ayathuray a Muslim hater.

By the way Kum, since you have given the impression you know so much about Ayathuray, can you please confirm that Ayathurai has not associated himself with the LTTE terrorist ideology like for example publicly justifying their violent ways?

    Well Ayathuray,

There are many comments here perhaps a bit harsh and some closer to the truth about your persona.

There is no doubt that you do have a strong bias towards Islam and Muslims.

It is true that you are trying to create a chasm between the Tamils and Muslims when the reverse should be the order of the day. Both communities in Sri Lanka are at the receiving end of the thugs dressed in saffron robes which ultimately affects all Sri Lankans from all walks of life. The LTTE made a grave mistake by alienating the Muslims and you are still keeping such hate mongering alive.

It is also very clear that you are not really up there with geo politics. Weakened Muslim states who constantly fight each other takes the attention away from Israel’s systematic expansion and ethnic cleansing. As a bonus the western countries have access to cheap oil and a luckrative market for weapons.

I wish even at this late stage in your life that you will come to realise that your Muslim hate has made you into a dangerously twisted individual.

What I see is emotional comments. I can understand their feelings. We have to accept certain defects in every religion in a spirit of sportsmanship and explore if it could be rectified in the best interests of everyone in this changing world. I do not want to hurt anyone’s feelings and I am not against any religion. But every religion should comply with the UN Charter and the United Declaration of Human Rights, which should be given due respect in order to strengthen the democracy. Why should the Islamic terrorists target Western democratic countries and India when there are 57 Islamic countries. Those helpless Muslims have fled their own countries to live peacefully in the western democratic countries along with others. What have the Islamic terrorists achieved in targeting the democratic countries other than destruction. Even the LTTE made the same blunder and paid its price. What contribution have they made towards the betterment of humanity. All religions including Islam are like flowers and everything has a place on this earth. No religion will leave a legacy of brutality. Why can’t the moderate Muslims stand up against such terrorism carried out by a few groups, instead of maintaining silence. I have experienced the evils of terrorism. It is time to decide whether we should stand for democracy or theocracy. As religion is a personal matter, country should be placed before everything and therefore preservation of democracy gains priority. Democracy is built on hard gained liberties. We should be grateful to the Western democratic countries for accommodating all these helpless Muslims, but when accommodating some undesirable elements have also crept in on various pretexts and causing terror among the peaceful citizens. We should not forget that the Western democratic countries have sacrificed its citizens in restoring democracy and liberated the helpless people.
Can there be any justification for the brutal murder of the citizens in the democratic countries who were on duty and were even friendly with the Muslims.
As for Sri Lanka, being a third world country, political leaders are not far-sighted. Instead they had strengthened their ties with Islamic leaders who were promoting terrorism across the world, especially when world was suspicious about the character of those leaders, probably to appease the Sri Lankan Muslim voters. However, the BBS was suspicious and the rest is history. Now there are about 200,000 Sri Lankan workers employed in the Middle-East, there is going to be several U-turns between the Muslims and Mahinda Rajapakse. Meanwhile, there are reported news that some Muslims were seen at Chennai Railway station and at Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple suspected to be loitering and the presence of some Pakistanis in Kathankudy. This has to be viewed with suspicion when Muslim Officer as Deputy Registrar of Persons (who is in prison) have issued National Identity Cards to various people for purposes known to him. The security of the Sri Lanka and other countries is essential. The terror-related incidents that took place in the Western democratic countries world claiming many lives speak for themselves. Everyone is worried about the short-sighted policy of Mahinda Rajapakse that is likely to drag Sri Lanka into an unpleasant scene. It is for the people of Sri Lanka to decide which government is better for peace and harmony hereafter, after realizing how Switzerland and Singapore runs a smooth government. This is the reason I maintained that there is a possibility that extremists may engage in unknown activities that might lead to an unfortunate war dragging several countries which cannot be ruled out easily, like the First World War.
